Classification and rating of disintegrated dolomite strata for slope stability analysis

Although disintegrated dolomite,widely distributed across the globe,has conventionally been a focus of research in underground engineering,the issue of slope stability issues in disintegrated dolomite strata is gaining increasing *** is primarily due to their unique properties,including low strength and loose *** methods for evaluating slope stability,such as basic quality(BQ)and slope stability probability classification(SSPC),do not adequately account for the poor integrity and structural fragmentation characteristic of disintegrated *** address this challenge,an analysis of the applicability of the limit equilibrium method(LEM),BQ,and SSPC methods was conducted on eight disintegrated dolomite slopes located in Baoshan,Southwest ***,conflicting results were ***,this paper introduces a novel method,SMRDDS,to provide rapid and accurate assessment of disintegrated dolomite slope *** method incorporates parameters such as disintegrated grade,joint state,groundwater conditions,and excavation *** findings reveal that six slopes exhibit stability,while two are considered partially ***,the proposed method demonstrates a closer match with the actual conditions and is more time-efficient compared with the BQ and SSPC ***,due to the limited research on disintegrated dolomite slopes,the results of the SMRDDS method tend to be conservative as a safety *** conclusion,the SMRDDS method can quickly evaluate the current situation of disintegrated dolomite slopes in the *** contributes significantly to disaster risk reduction for disintegrated dolomite slopes.

FLIC: Fast linear iterative clustering with active search

In this paper, we reconsider the clustering problem for image over-segmentation from a new perspective. We propose a novel search algorithm called"active search" which explicitly considers neighbor continuity. Based on this search method, we design a back-and-forth traversal strategy and a joint assignment and update step to speed up the algorithm. Compared to earlier methods, such as simple linear iterative clustering(SLIC) and its variants, which use fixed search regions and perform the assignment and the update steps separately, our novel scheme reduces the number of iterations required for convergence,and also provides better boundaries in the oversegmentation results. Extensive evaluation using the Berkeley segmentation benchmark verifies that our method outperforms competing methods under various evaluation metrics. In particular, our method is fastest,achieving approximately 30 fps for a 481 × 321 image on a single CPU core. To facilitate further research, our code is made publicly available.

A Simple Method for Preparing CuCl/Activated Carbon for Selective CO Adsorption from Hydrogen

Research on the identification of the production origin of Angelica dahurica using LIBS technology combined with machine learning algorithms

The origin of Angelica dahurica medicinal herbs varies, and their pharmacological effects also differ. In order to achieve rapid and accurate identification of the origin of Angelica dahurica medicinal herbs, this study utilizes laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) technology combined with machine learning algorithms to identify the original source of Angelica dahurica. Sliced samples of Angelica dahurica were taken from four regions: Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, and Sichuan. The spectral data from the sliced samples were used as features, and different algorithms including support vector machine(SVM), back propagation(BP) neural network, genetic algorithm-back propagation(GA-BP) neural network, particle swarm optimization-back propagation(PSO-BP) neural network, convolutional neural network(CNN), and CNN-SVM were employed to classify the origin of Angelica dahurica samples.

Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMD)heterostructure is widely applied for second harmonic generation(SHG)and holds great promises for laser source,nonlinear switch,and optical logic ***,for atomically thin TMD heterostructures,low SHG conversion efficiency would occur due to reduction of light-matter interaction length and lack of phase ***,we demonstrated a facile directional SHG amplifier formed by MoS2/WS2 monolayer heterostructures suspended on a holey SiO_(2)/Si *** SHG enhancement factor reaches more than two orders of magnitude in a wide spectral range from 355 to 470 nm,and the radiation angle is reduced from 38°to 19°indicating higher coherence and better emission *** giant SHG enhancement and directional emission are attributed to the great excitation and emission field concentration induced by a self-formed vertical Fabry-Pérot *** discovery gives helpful insights for the development of two-dimensional(2D)nonlinear optical devices.

Evaluation of a resoruf in-based fluorescent probe for tyrosinase detection in skin pigmentation disorders

Highly efficient production of 2,5-dihydroxymethylfuran from biomass-derived 5-hydroxymethylfurfural over an amorphous and mesoporous zirconium phosphonate catalyst

The development of high-efficiency and low-cost catalysts is very crucial for the MeerweinPonndorf-Verley (MPV) reduction of biomass-derived 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) into 2,5-dihydroxymethylfuran (DHMF). In this work, an amorphous and mesoporous zirconium phosphonate catalyst (Zr-DTMP), which is a zirconium-containing organic-inorganic nanohybrid, was successfully designed and synthesized by the simple assembly of zirconium tetrachloride (ZrCl4) and diethylene triaminepenta(methylene phosphonic acid)(DTMP). Satisfactorily, when Zr-DTMP was employed for the MPV reduction of HMF in the presence of 2-butanol (secBuOH), DHMF yield could be achieved as 96.5% in 3 h under a relatively mild reaction temperature of 140℃. Systematic investigations indicated that this high catalytic activity should be mainly due to the cooperative role of enhancive Lewis acid site (Zr4+) and Lewis base site (O2-) in activating the carbonyl group of HMF and dissociating the hydroxyl group of secBuOH, respectively. Additionally, Zr-DTMP showed excellent catalytic stability, when it was successively used 5 recycles, its surface characteristics and textural properties still remained almost unchanged, and so, the catalytic activity was not obviously affected. More interestingly, Zr-DTMP could also be applied for the selective reduction of other biomass-derived carbonyl compounds, such as 5-methylfurfural (MF), furfural (FF), levulinic acid (LA), ethyl levulinate (EL) and cyclohexanone (CHN), into the corresponding products with high yields, which is beneficial to the effective synthesis of various valuable bio-based chemicals.

Unexpected catalytic activity of rhodium nanodendrites with nanosheet subunits for methanol electrooxidation in an alkaline medium

Nanocrystals of Rh, an important member of the noble metal catalyst family, have wide applications in heterogeneous catalytic reactions. Controlling the morphology of these noble metal nanocrystals has become an effective strategy for improving their catalytic activity and durability. In this work, well-defined Rh nanodendrites with very thin triangular branches as subunits are synthesized using a facile diethylene glycol reduction method, assisted by polyethyleneimine as a complex-forming agent and surfactant. For the first time, the methanol oxidation reaction （MOR） on Rh nanocrystals with a well-defined morphology is investigated using various electrochemical techniques in an alkaline medium. Unexpectedly, the as-prepared Rh nanodendrites, with ultrathin nanosheet subunits, exhibit superior electrocatalytic activity and durability during the MOR in an alkaline medium, indicating that Rh nanocrystals with specific morphology may be highly promising alternatives to Pt electrocatalysts in the MOR in an alkaline medium.
