Increasing evidence suggests that the gut may influence the host’s metabolism and ultimately change the outcomes of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).We review the evidence on the relationship between the gut and T2DM remission after gastric bypass surgery,and discuss the potential mechanisms underlying the above relationship:gut anatomical rearrangement,microbial composition changes,altered gut cells,and gut hormone ***,the exact changes and their relative importance in the metabolic improvements after gastric bypass surgery remain to be further *** the precise metabolic mechanisms of T2DM resolution after bypass surgery will help to reveal the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis,and facilitate the development of novel diagnoses and preventative interventions for this common disease.

microRNAs are single-stranded,non-coding RNAs that regulate gene *** microRNA-16 family has been reported to be involved in cell-cycle regulation,which could also downregulate expression of multiple pro-proliferation *** present results demonstrated that miR-16 expression in HeLa cells increased when the cells were arrested during S-phase under methyl methanesulfate (MMS) *** further resulted in downregulation of a target protein CDC25A,whereas miR-16 expression did not increase when HeLa cells were arrested during the MMS-treated G0/G1 or G2/M ***,when HeLa cells were arrested during S-phase with hydroxyurea treatment,miR-16 expression did not *** results suggest that expression levels of microRNAs in mammalian cells are delicately regulated under variable cellular conditions.

OBJECTIVE: To undertake a systematic review and network meta-analysis(NMA) to compare the effectiveness among the different regimens of Salvia miltiorrhiza injection classes(SMICs) for unstable angina pectoris(UAP) ***: A systematic retrieval was conducted in several literature databases to identify randomized controlled trials focusing on the different regimens of SMICs for UAP treatment until January2016. The quality assessment was accomplished according to the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Pair-wise meta-analyses were carried out by Rev Man 5.3. A random-effects model of NMA was used to compare the different regimens of SMICs with regard to efficacy by STATA ***: A total of 111 studies involving 10 500patients were included in the NMA. The methodological quality of included studies was not *** evidence shows that salvianolate(SI) is the optimal treatment for UAP in improving the total efficacy against UAP. Guanxingning(GXN) is the optimal treatment for UAP for improving the total effectiveness of ***: SMICs have advantages in preventing cardiovascular events. GXN, SI, and Danhong had the greatest probability of being the best treatment in the total efficacy against UAP and for improving the total effectiveness of electrocardiography.

Dear Editor,Understanding physical protein–protein interactions(PPIs)in vivo is amajor challenge in elucidating the molecular mechanisms in complex biological *** many approaches,such as the yeast two-hybrid(Y2H)assay,protein fragmentcomplementary assay(PCA),and fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)assay,have been developed to assess the intensity of interaction of proteins in living cells,they have practical limitations for quantitation(Morell et al.,2009;Padilla-Parra and Tramier,2012;Stynen et al.,2012).Nucleic acid-based technologies,such as quantitative PCR(qPCR),DNA microarray,and deep sequencing,are probably most featured with quantification,high-throughput,and cost-effective for ***,new methods of detecting biomolecular interactions have been developed based on a strategy that labels target interactions using specific nucleic acid sequences(Soderberg et al.,2006;Yu et al.,2011;Zhu et al.,2013).

OBJECTIVE:To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of ginkgo injections(GIs)combined with conventional treatment(CT)against angina pectoris(AP)due to coronary heart disease(CH D).METHODS:Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that used GIs to treat AP were searched in SinoMed,PubMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese Scientific Journals Database,Wanfang Database,Embase and Cochrane Library until March *** Cochrane "risk of bias" method was used to evaluate the methodological quality of *** were analyzed using Stata v13.1 and WinBUGS ***:A total of 73 RCTs involving 7621 patients were included.A Bayesian network Meta-analysis of RCTs was undertaken,and the advantages of four types of Gl-supplemented CT in AP treatment were ***:Gl-assisted CT was more effective against AP than CT ***,based on the limitations of the study,additional high-quality RCTs are required to confirm our findings.

Effectiveness of Huachansu injection combined with chemotherapy for treatment of gastric cancer in China: a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE:to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Huachansu(HCS)injection plus chemotherapy in the treatment of gastric ***:A thorough and systematic retrieval of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)concerning HCS injection for treating gastric cancer was conducted in several electronic databases from inception to May 10,*** quality of the RCTs was assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias *** the data about objective remission rate,performance status,adverse drug reactions(ADRs)and other outcomes were extracted and analyzed by Review Manager 5.3 and Stata 13.0 ***:A total of 14 RCTs with 976 participants were involved in the current *** results suggested that HCS injection combined with chemotherapy was associated with better effects than receiving conventional chemotherapy alone in respect of improving the objective response rate[RR=1.18,95%CI(1.03,1.37),Z=2.32,P=0.02],and performance status[RR=1.84,95%CI(1.43,2.36),Z=4.74,P<0.00001].In addition,HCS injection combined with chemotherapy could relieve pain for patients with gastric ***:This Meta-analysis revealed that HCS injection plus chemotherapy might more effective than chemotherapy in treating gastric ***,more large-scale and rigorously designed RCTs should be performed to validate this finding.

OBJECTIVE： To assess the clinical effectiveness and safety of injections of ginkgo （GI） combined with Western Medicine （WM） for cerebral infarction （C/）. METHODS; Randomized controlled trials （RCTs） of C/treated by GI were searched in China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Wanfang, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Web of Science, Cochrane library, Embase, PubMed and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, with the publication data no later than April, 2016. The Co- chrane risk of bias method was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the RCTs. The data were analyzed by Review Manager 5.3, Stata 13.0, and WinBUGS 14 ***： Totally 37 RCTs involving 4330 patients were included. By direct comparison, the results of GI group were significantly superior to the routine WM group in the total effective rates [OR = 3.61, 95% CI （2.93, 4.44）, P 〈 0.0001], the neural function defect score （NFDS） [MD = - 4.39, 95% CI （- 5.47, - 3.32）, P 〈 0.0001]. Network Meta-analysis （NMA） results showed that, between S GIs in efficacy, the difference comparing ginaton injections （GbE） to ginkgo-dipyidamolum injections （GD） [OR = 1.74, 95% CI （0.73, 3.65）], shuxuening injections （SXN） [OR = 1.06, 95% CI （0.609, 1.697）] or ginkgolides in- jections （GK） [OR = 4.711, 95% CI （1.178, 13.21）] reach statistical significance; the difference compar- ing GD to GK reach statistical significance [OR = 2.791, 95% CI （0.866, 6.908）]; the difference com- paring SXN to GK reach statistical significance [OR = 4.537, 95% CI （1.203, 12.41）]. Besides, there was no difference between 4 GIs in NFDS. Proba- bility ranking result showed a great possibility for GK [Surface under the Cumulative Ranking curve （SUCRA） = 80.3%] in improving the total effective rates, which were followed by GD （SUCRA = 73.34%）, SXN （SUCRA = 46.59%）, GbE （SUCRA = 45.46%）, floium ginkgo extract and tertram ethy- pyrazine sodium chloride injections （FT）（SU- CRA = 35.64%）. However, GK （SUCRA = 80.3
