Electroacupuncture improves myocardial fibrosis in heart failure rats by attenuating ECM collagen deposition through modulation of TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway

Background: To explore the effects of electroacupuncture on cardiac function and myocardial fibrosis in rat models of heart failure, and to elucidate the underlying mechanism of electroacupuncture in heart failure treatment. Methods: Healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were allocated into three groups: Sham group, Model group, and electroacupuncture (Model + EA) group, with each group comprising 8 rats. The model underwent a procedure involving the ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery to induce a model of heart failure. The Model + EA group was used for 7 consecutive days for electroacupuncture of bilateral Shenmen (HT7) and Tongli (HT5), once a day for 30 min each time. Left ventricular parameters in rats were assessed using a small-animal ultrasound machine to analyze changes in left ventricular end-diastolic volume, left ventricular end-systolic volume, left ventricular ejection fraction, and left ventricular fractional shortening. Serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), cardiac troponin (cTn), and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor levels were measured using ELISA. Histopathological changes in rat myocardium were observed through HE staining, while collagen deposition in rat myocardial tissue was assessed using the Masson staining method. Picro sirius red staining, immunohistochemical staining, and RT-qPCR were utilized to distinguish between the various types of collagen deposition. The expression level of TGF-β1 and SMAD2/3/4/7 mRNA in rat myocardial tissues was determined using RT-qPCR. Additionally, western blot analysis was conducted to assess the protein expression levels of TGF-β1, SMAD3/7, and p-SMAD3 in rat myocardial tissues. Results: Compared with the Sham group, the left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening values of the Model group were significantly decreased (P < 0.01);the left ventricular end-diastolic volume and left ventricular end-systolic volume values were remarkably increased (P < 0.01)

Application of a chitosan coating as a carrier for natamycin to maintain the storage quality of ground cherry(Physalis pubescens L.)

Ground cherry(Physalis pubescens L.) is a kind of berry fruit favored by consumers in China; however, this fruit is particularly vulnerable to physiological senescence and pathogen attack during the traditional cold storage period. In order to maintain storage quality, a 1.5%(w/w) chitosan(CS) water solution containing 50 mg/L of natamycin(NA) was introduced. After all treatments were completed, the fruit was stored at 0°C and sampled every 10 d. At each sampling date, the following tests were performed: mold and yeast analyses; enzyme activity and content analyses which included superoxide dismutase(SOD), ascorbate peroxidase(APX), and malondialdehyde(MDA); and color analysis. In addition, a sensory evaluation was carried out for quality assessment at the end of the storage period. The results showed that the application of a chitosan coating combined with natamycin(CSNA) enhanced the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase(APX), reduced the physiological rate of senescence, and inhibited pathogen attack. Thus, CSNA treatment can maintain ground cherries at an acceptable level of storage quality for 50 d.

Influence of Al Content on the Microstructure and Properties of the CrAlN Coatings Deposited by Arc Ion Plating

Four CrAlN coatings with various Al content were prepared by arc ion plating technology under different target currents. The effect of the Al content on the microstructure, chemical compositions, element chemical bonding states and mechanical properties of the CrAlN coatings was analyzed. X-ray diffraction results show that the primary phase of the CrAlN coating is fcc-（Al, Cr）N when the Al content is about 44.02 at.%. However, when the Al content increases to about 53.34 at.%, hcp-AlN phase emerges in the coating. And the hcp-AlN phase becomes the main phase in the CrAlN coating with Al content of about 69.55 at.%. Cross-sectional images show that all the four coatings possess dense structures and the deposition rate of Al atom is higher than that of Cr atom. The hardness of the CrAlN coating with Al content about 44.02 at.% is the largest （3149.72 HV） due to the solid solution hardening effect of the Al element. When the hcp-AlN phase is generated in the CrAlN coating, the hardness declines. The tribological experiment shows that the wear resistance of the CrAlN coating decreases gradually with increasing Al content when sliding against 100Cr6 steel ball.

A Possible γ-Ray Pulsation from PSR J1740-5340B in the Globular Cluster NGC 6397

Recently, a new radio millisecond pulsar(MSP) J1740-5340B, hosted in the globular cluster(GC) NGC 6397,was reported with a 5.78 ms spin period in an eclipsing binary system with a 1.97 days orbital period. Based on a modified radio ephemeris updated by tool tempo2, we analyze the ~15 yr γ-ray data obtained from the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and detect PSR J1740-5340B's γ-ray pulsation at a confidence level of ~4σ with a weighted H-test value of ~26. By performing a phase-resolved analysis, the γ-ray luminosity in on-pulse interval of PSR J1740-5340B is L_(γ)~ 3.8 × 10^(33) erg s^(-1) using NGC 6397's distance of 2.48 kpc. And γ-rays from the on-pulse part of PSR J1740-5340B contribute ~90% of the total observed γ-ray emissions from NGC 6397. No significant γ-ray pulsation of another MSP J1740-5340A in the GC is *** that the previous four cases of MSPs in GCs, more data in γ-ray, X-ray, and radio are encouraged to finally confirm the γ-ray emissions from MSP J1740-5340B, especially starving for a precise ephemeris.

Detection of Increasingγ-Ray Emissions from 4FGL J1718.5+4237 with Fermi-LAT

We report a gradual brighteningγ-ray source,4FGL J1718.5+4237,in 0.1-500.0 GeV,which may be associated with a blazar NVSS J171822+423948 with a redshift of~*** analyzed 15.25 yr ofγ-ray data recorded by the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and detected significantγ-ray emissions in the direction of the blazar with a test statistic(TS)of~*** on timing analysis using a 1 yr time bin,we have observed a gradual brightening inγ-ray emissions from the *** our analysis,we categorize them into two states:Quiet(TS~0)and Loud(TS~226)states,with the distinction occurring in 2016 August(MJD57602.69).From the Quiet state to the brightest period(the last data point),theγ-ray flux in 0.1-500.0 GeV increased by more than 12-fold from<0.2×10^(-8)photons cm^(-1)s^(-1)to 2.6×10^(-8)photons cm^(-1)s^(-1).Additionally,we studied the spectral properties in detail for the Loud state and the overall *** no significant variation was detected,both exhibited a spectral indexΓof~*** origin of the brighteningγ-ray emissions from the target is not yet *** long-term multi-wavelength observations and studies will provide insight into the astrophysical mechanisms of the target.

Contrastive Consistency and Attentive Complementarity for Deep Multi-View Subspace Clustering

Deep multi-view subspace clustering (DMVSC) based on self-expression has attracted increasing attention dueto its outstanding performance and nonlinear application. However, most existing methods neglect that viewprivatemeaningless information or noise may interfere with the learning of self-expression, which may lead to thedegeneration of clustering performance. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Contrastive Consistencyand Attentive Complementarity (CCAC) for DMVsSC. CCAC aligns all the self-expressions of multiple viewsand fuses them based on their discrimination, so that it can effectively explore consistent and complementaryinformation for achieving precise clustering. Specifically, the view-specific self-expression is learned by a selfexpressionlayer embedded into the auto-encoder network for each view. To guarantee consistency across views andreduce the effect of view-private information or noise, we align all the view-specific self-expressions by contrastivelearning. The aligned self-expressions are assigned adaptive weights by channel attention mechanism according totheir discrimination. Then they are fused by convolution kernel to obtain consensus self-expression withmaximumcomplementarity ofmultiple views. Extensive experimental results on four benchmark datasets and one large-scaledataset of the CCAC method outperformother state-of-the-artmethods, demonstrating its clustering effectiveness.

Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of(TiC+TiB)/TA15 composites prepared by an in-situ synthesis method

Titanium matrix composites reinforced with ceramic particles are considered a promising engineering material due to their combination of high specific strength,low density,and high *** this study,the TA15-based composites reinforced with a volume fraction of 10% to 25%(TiB+TiC)were prepared using powder metallurgy and casting *** characterization and phase constitution were examined using optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and X-ray diffraction(XRD).In addition,the microhardness,room temperature(RT)and high temperature(HT)tensile properties of the composites were *** revealed that the reinforcements are distributed uniformly even in the composites with a high volume of TiB and ***,as the volume fraction exceeds 15%,TiB and TiC particles become coarsening and exhibit rod-like and dendritic-like *** increases gradually from 321.2 HV for the base alloy to a maximum of 473.3 HV as the reinforcement increases to 25vol.%.Tensile test results indicate that a reinforcement volume fraction above 20% is beneficial for enhancing tensile strength and yield strength at high temperatures,but it has an adverse effect on room temperature ***,if the reinforcement volume fraction is below 20%,it can improve high-temperature elongation when the temperature exceeds 600℃.

A Provable Positivity-Preserving Local Discontinuous Galerkin Method for the Viscous and Resistive MHD Equations
