Increased Expression of Serum Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1, Chemokine (C-C motif) Ligand 3, and Interleukins in Patients With Vitiligo

Objective: Vitiligo is a chronic, acquired depigmentation of the skin, which can be divided into active and stable vitiligo. The stable and active stages are not immutable and often alternate. Identification of internal markers would help to diagnose the active stage of vitiligo, and the purpose of this study was to find potential active markers in the progression of vitiligo.Methods: We compared 30 healthy controls to 60 patients with vitiligo (30 with active disease and 30 with stable disease) regarding the expression of serum monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1, chemokine (C-C motif) ligand (CCL) 3, CCL5, CCL21, interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-17. Specimens were collected from May 2017 to December 2018. Serological detection was carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The difference between groups was compared by Kruskal-WallisH test and Mann-Whitneyu test.Results: We found that the serum levels of MCP-1, CCL3, IL-6, and IL-17 were significantly higher in patients with vitiligo than in healthy controls (P < 0.01 ) and that IL-17 was higher in patients with active vitiligo than in those with stable vitiligo (P < 0.01). After 3months of treatment, the serum IL-17 level of patients with active vitiligo was not significantly different from that before treatment (P = 0.526); after 6months of treatment, however, the serum IL-17 level had significantly decreased (P < 0.01).Conclusion: These findings suggest that the serum IL-17 level can be used as a marker of vitiligo disease activity giving it certain guiding significance for clinical treatment.

The intimate host-anion interactions will regulate thermodynamics and kinetics in the self-assembly of cationic cages mimicking biological counterparts.Herein,we report construction and transformation of three Pd(Ⅱ)-based metal-organic cages(MOCs)depending on different anions.Stoichiometric conversions of the lantern-shaped MOC-34 into either octahedral MOC-35 or tricapped trigonal prism MOC-36 are induced by BF_(4)^(–)or NO_(3)^(–),respectively.MOC-36 is kinetically favored and can undergo quantitative conversion to the thermodynamically preferred MOC-35 upon heating,accelerated by excess BF_(4)^(–)to motivate dissociative dynamics of Pd-vertices and lower activation barrier of cage transformation.The guest encapsulation behaviors of MOC-35 and MOC-36 have also been tested.These results manifest a significance of host-anion dynamics beyond complementary anion template,shedding light on the understanding of intricate anion recognition in nature.

Skeletal stem/progenitor cell(SSPC)senescence is a major cause of decreased bone regenerative potential with aging,but the causes of SSPC senescence remain unclear.In this study,we revealed that macrophages in calluses secrete prosenescent factors,including grancalcin(GCA),during aging,which triggers SSPC senescence and impairs fracture healing.Local injection of human rGCA in young mice induced SSPC senescence and delayed fracture repair.Genetic deletion of Gca in monocytes/macrophages was sufficient to rejuvenate fracture repair in aged mice and alleviate SSPC senescence.Mechanistically,GCA binds to the plexin-B2 receptor and activates Arg2-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction,resulting in cellular senescence.Depletion of Plxnb2 in SSPCs impaired fracture healing.Administration of GCA-neutralizing antibody enhanced fracture healing in aged mice.Thus,our study revealed that senescent macrophages within calluses secrete GCA to trigger SSPC secondary senescence,and GCA neutralization represents a promising therapy for nonunion or delayed union in elderly individuals.

Stochastic community assembly of abundant taxa maintains the relationship of soil biodiversity-multifunctionality under mercury stress

Soil abundant taxa diversity positively related to multifunctionality under Hg stress.•Microbial network complexity of soil abundant taxa supported the strength of SBF.•Stochastic assembly of soil abundant subcommunity supported the strength of SBF.•Stochastic ratio was the most important predictor for the strength of SBF.It is known that soil microbial communities are intricately linked to multiple ecosystem functions and can maintain the relationship between soil biodiversity and multifunctionality(SBF)under environmental stresses.However,the relative contributions and driving forces of abundant and rare taxa within the communities in maintaining soil biodiversity-multifunctionality relationship under pollution stresses are still unclear.Here,we conducted microcosm experiments to estimate the importance of soil abundant and rare taxa in predicting these relationships under heavy metal mercury(Hg)stress in paired paddy and upland fields.The results revealed that the diversity of abundant taxa,rather than rare taxa,was positively related to multifunctionality,with the abundant subcommunity tending to maintain a larger proportion of soil functions including chitin degradation,protein degradation,and phosphorus mineralization.Soil multitrophic network complexity consisting of abundant species showed positive correlations with biodiversity and multifunctionality,and supported the strength of SBF within a network complexity range.Stochastic assembly processes of the abundant subcommunity were positively correlated with the strength of SBF,although stochastic processes decreased the biodiversity and the multifunctionality,respectively.After simultaneously accounting for multiple factors on the strength of SBF,we found that the stochastic community assembly ratio of abundant taxa was the most important predictor for SBF strength under Hg stress.Our results highlight the importance of abundant taxa in supporting soil multifunctionality,and elucidate the linkages between community assembly,network complexity and SBF rela

目的探讨7日龄早产儿甲状腺功能的影响因素及其参考值范围,以避免临床上不必要的复查和干预。方法回顾性分析2020年1月—2023年1月住院的685例早产儿资料。依据胎龄和出生体重分为高危组(胎龄<34周或体重<2 000 g;n=228)与低危组(胎龄≥34周且出生体重≥2 000 g;n=457)。分析甲状腺功能的影响因素,并计算其95%参考值范围。结果多元线性回归分析显示,胎龄、出生体重、出生季节、性别、辅助生殖等为甲状腺功能的影响因素(P<0.05)。高危组早产儿的游离三碘甲状腺原氨酸(free triiodothyronine,FT3)、游离甲状腺素(free thyroxine,FT4)、总三碘甲状腺原氨酸(total triiodothyronine,TT3)、总甲状腺素(total thyroxine,TT4)、促甲状腺激素(thyroid stimulating hormone,TSH)参考值范围分别为2.79~5.40 pmol/L、8.80~25.64 pmol/L、0.80~2.15 nmol/L、50.06~165.09 nmol/L、0.80~18.57μIU/mL,低危组的分别为3.08~5.93 pmol/L、11.17~26.24pmol/L、1.02~2.27 nmol/L、62.90~168.95 nmol/L、0.69~13.70μIU/mL。FT3、FT4、TT3、TT4与胎龄呈正相关(P<0.05);FT3、FT4、TT3、TT4与出生体重呈正相关(P<0.05),TSH与出生体重呈负相关(P<0.05)。结论 7日龄早产儿甲状腺功能受胎龄、出生体重等因素影响;7日龄早产儿甲状腺功能参考值范围应基于胎龄及出生体重建立。

Background Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal involvement.However,there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in children.Methods Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected retrospectively.The risk factors and predictive model of end-stage renal disease(ESRD)in AAV were explored.Results Renal involvement was the most typical manifestation(95.5%),and the crescent was the predominant pathological lesion(84.9%).The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was evaluated in 114 patients,of whom 59.6%developed ESRD,and the median time to ESRD was 3.20 months.The eGFR[P=0.006,odds ratio(OR)=0.955,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.924–0.987]and the percentages of global glomerulosclerosis(pGGS;P=0.018,OR=1.060,95%CI=1.010–1.112)were independent risk factors for ESRD of renal biopsy.Based on the pGGS and eGFR at renal biopsy,we developed three risk grades of ESRD and one predictive model.The Kaplan‒Meier curve indicated that renal outcomes were significantly different in different risk grades(P<0.001).Compared with serum creatinine at baseline,the predictive model had higher accuracy(0.86 versus 0.58,P<0.001)and a lower coefficient of variation(0.07 versus 0.92)in external validation.Conclusions Renal involvement is the most common manifestation of pediatric AAV in China,of which more than half deteriorates into ESRD.The predictive model based on eGFR at renal biopsy and the pGGS may be stable and accurate in speculating the risk of ESRD in AAV children.

Turnip mosaic virus （TuMV） constitutes one of the primary diseases affecting Brassica rapa,severely impacting its production and resulting in crop failures in various regions worldwide.Recent research has demonstrated the significance of plant translation initiation factors,specifically the eIF4E and eIF4G family genes,as essential recessive disease resistance genes.In our study,we conducted evolutionary and gene expression studies,leading us to identify e IF（iso）4E.c as a potential TuMV-resistant gene.Leveraging CRISPR/Cas9 technology,we obtained mutant B.rapa plants with edited eIF（iso）4E.c gene.We confirmed eIF（iso）4E.c confers resistance against TuMV through phenotypic observations and virus content evaluations.Furthermore,we employed ribosome profiling assays on eif（iso）4e.c mutant seedlings to unravel the translation landscape in response to TuMV.Interestingly,we observed a moderate correlation between the fold changes in gene expression at the transcriptional and translational levels （R2=0.729）.Comparative analysis of ribosome profiling and RNA-seq data revealed that plant-pathogen interaction,and MAPK signaling pathway-plant pathways were involved in eIF（iso）4E.c-mediated TuMV resistance.Further analysis revealed that sequence features,coding sequence length,and normalized minimal free energy,influenced the translation efficiency of genes.Our study highlights that the loss of e IF（iso）4E.c can result in a highly intricate translation mechanism,acting synergistically with transcription to confer resistance against TuMV.

Reconciling the tasks of producing adequate amounts of nutritious food for the increasing global population while preserving the environment and natural ecosystems simultaneously is an enormous challenge. The concept of agriculture green development(AGD) and the necessary governmental policies were developed to address the aforementioned challenge in China and to help achieve the related global sustainable development goals. Agriculture green development emphasizes the synergy between green and development;current agriculture has to transform from the intensive farming with high inputs, high environmental impacts and low resource-use efficiency to a more sustainable agriculture, in order to ensure an adequate supply of nutritious food while delivering environmental integrity, improved economic profitability,and social equity. A research program on AGD was established by China Agricultural University with four research themes, namely: green crop production, green integrated crop-animal production, green food and industry,and green ecological environment and ecosystem services, to provide a scientific basis for future developments and to facilitate the implementation of AGD in practice. AGD requires a multistakeholder approach, fueled by innovative and interdisciplinary research. Joint actions have to be taken by governments, farmers, supply industries, consumers, educators, extension services and researchers to support AGD. This requires strong coordination and public awareness campaigns. This review presents the progress that has been made over the past 5 years and makes recommendations for more research and development, in order to better deliver agricultural green and sustainable development on national and international scales.

研究了启发式优化算法中种群向均值点迁移的策略,并发现该策略对于提升算法性能具有重要影响,同时具备物理和数学含义.通过极大似然估计方法对基态波函数进行参数估计,建立了量子系统达到基态时最优解概率密度函数与种群均值点之间的联系,并从动力学的角度解释了种群均值点的物理意义.通过在几种经典优化算法上添加利用均值点位置信息的操作,在CEC2013测试集与摄像机布局优化的工程应用上进行对照实验,实验结果表明合理利用均值点位置信息可以有效提升算法的性能.

Two polyoxovanadoborates with over 100 nuclei assembled from a {VCoB} cluster

Combining theoretical prediction and experimental exploration,the first sandwich-type polyoxovanadoborate (POVB) with an odd number of nuclei,[V11B26O73(OH)10]8-(1),was discovered under hydrothermal conditions.Density-functional theory (DFT)gives a rationalization for the existence of this structure and the structural feature is consistent with the{VNB2N+X}(X=2,4,6,8)general formula.Excitingly,when Co and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) are introduced into the synthesis of vanadoborates system,a 100-nuclei[Co6(phen)10(H2O)8][V14Co12B72O144(OH)20]·28H2O (2) and a 102-nuclei[Co6(phen)14(H2O)4][V14Co12B72O144(OH)20]·23H2O (3) with the same core structure of[V14Co12B72]12-are obtained.The vase-shaped[V14Co12B72]polyanion is a multilayered sandwich-type structure containing seven distinct structural layers and is the largest known POVB.Furthermore,2demonstrates exceptional thermal and chemical stability and serves as an efficient and stable catalyst for the photoreduction of carbon dioxide.
