Background:Production of high-quality crystals is one of the main bottlenecks in the X-ray crystallography-based protein structure determination. Methods:We introduced PPCinter,a novel method to predict propensity for production of diffraction-quality crystals,production of crystals,purification and production of the protein material. Results:PPCinter utilizes not only the intra-molecular factors but also the intermolecular *** method outperforms several current crystallization *** method obtains the overall accuracy at 57.5%and average MCC at *** method reveals several factors that influence the success of crystallization process,including unfold-based index,energy-based,solvent accessibility,and hydrophobicity-based index,composition of amino acid,isoelectric point and disorder-based features. Conclusions:The proposed method,PPCinter could provide useful input for the target selection procedures utilized by the structural genomics centers.

Local magnetic moment oscillation around an Anderson impurity on graphene

Background:Protein folding rates vary by several orders of magnitude and they depend on the topology of the fold and the size and composition of the sequence. Methods:We proposed an new method to predict the folding rate which is based on the information dynamic function. Results:The predictor includes three linear regressions for proteins with two-state, multi-state,and unknown(mixed-state) folding *** method achieves the correlation 0.9 for two-state,0.86 for multistate and 0.85 for *** with other methods, our method achieves higher correlation. Conclusions:Our method can be used to predict the folding *** provides a new way to understand the folding rate.

We theoretically investigate the spin resolved Friedel oscillation(FO)and quasiparticle interference(QPI)in graphene induced by an Anderson *** the impurity becomes magnetic,the resulted FO becomes spin dependent,which gives rise to a local magnetic moment oscillation with an envelop decaying as r^(-2) in real space in the doping ***,at half filling,the electron density and local magnetic moment will not oscillate but decay as r^(-3).Such spin resolved FO has both sublattice and spin ***,the local magnetic moment decay at half filling only occurs at one sublattice of graphene,which is quite like the phenomenon observed in the STM experiment(***ález-Herrero et al.,Science 352,437(2016)).We further give an analytic formula about such spin dependent FO based on the stationary phase ***,we study the interference of quasiparticles around the magnetic impurity by calculating the spin dependent Fourier-transformed local density of states(FT-LDOS).Our work gives a comprehensive understanding about the local magnetic moment oscillation around an Anderson impurity on graphene.

Cross-subcarrier precoder design for massive MIMO-OFDM downlink with symplectic optimization

We propose a cross-subcarrier precoder design(CSPD) for massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) downlink. This work aims to significantly improve the channel estimation and signal detection performance by enhancing the smoothness of the frequency domain effective channel. This is accomplished by designing a few vectors known as the transform domain precoding vectors(TDPVs), which are then transformed into the frequency domain to generate the precoders for a set of subcarriers. To combat the effect of channel aging, the TDPVs are optimized under imperfect channel state information(CSI). The optimal precoder structure is derived by maximizing an upper bound of the ergodic weighted sum-rate(WSR) and utilizing the a posteriori beam-based statistical channel model(BSCM). To avoid the large-dimensional matrix inversion, we propose an algorithm with symplectic optimization. Simulation results indicate that the proposed cross-subcarrier precoder design significantly outperforms conventional methods.

Anaerobic ammonia oxidation(Anammox)is an economical and sustainablewastewater nitrogen removal technology,and its application in the mainstream process is the inevitable trend of the development of ***,how to effectively enriching Anammox bacteria from the activated sludge remains challenging and restricts its extensive *** this study,the rapid and efficient enrichment of Anammox bacteriawas achieved by raising the reflux ratio and nitrogen loading rate(NLR)using conventional activated sludge as the *** the screening phase(days 1–90),the reflux ratio was increased to discharge partial floc sludge,resulting in the relative abundance of Candidatus Brocadiaceae increased from0.04%to 22.54%,which effectively reduced thematrix and spatial competition between other microorganisms and Anammox *** day 90,the stoichiometric ratio of the Anammox process closely approached the theoretical value of 1:1.32:0.26,indicating that the Anammox reaction was the primary nitrogen removal process in the *** the enrichment phase(days 91–238),the NLR increased from 0.43 to 1.20 kgN/(m^(3)·d)and removal efficiency was 71.89%,resulting in the relative abundance of Candidatus Brocadiaceae increased to 61.27%on day *** reactor operated steadily from days 444 to 498,maintaining the nitrogen removal rate(NRR)of 3.00 kgN/(m^(3)·d)and achieving successful sludge granulation with the particle size of 392.4μ*** short,this study provided a simple and efficient approach for enriching Anammox bacteria from the activated sludge,supporting to start an Anammox process efficiently.

Robotic grasping presents significant challenges due to variations in object properties, environmental complexities,and the demand for real-time operation. This study proposes the MetaCoorNet(MCN), which is a novel deep learning architecture specifically designed to address these challenges in robotic grasping pose estimation. By combining spatial and channel operators, the MetaCoor block is utilized to extract features efficiently. This architecture enhances feature selectivity by embedding location information into channel attention using a positional embedding technique within the coordinate attention mechanism. Consequently, the proposed MCN can focus on pertinent grasp-related regions. Furthermore, convolutional fusion blocks seamlessly integrate spatial and channel features, resulting in enhanced feature resolution and representation *** innovative design enables the proposed MCN to achieve state-of-the-art performance on the Cornell and Jacquard datasets,attaining accuracies of 98% and 91.2%, respectively. The effectiveness and robustness of MCN are further validated through real-world experiments conducted using a seven-degree-of-freedom Kinova manipulator.

This study focuses on the electrical properties and microstructure of polypropylene(PP)-based blends used for cable insulation in nuclear power plants(NPPs).The PP-based blend,comprising isotactic PP and propylene-based elastomer(PBE)at concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 wt%,underwent a melt blending process and subsequent cobalt-60 gamma-ray irradiation with doses ranging from 0 to 250 *** conductivity,trap distribution,and alternating(AC)breakdown strength were chosen to assess the insulation *** results indicate that the addition of PBE significantly improves the electrical properties of PP under *** PP,the electrical conductivity increased with irradiation,whereas the trap depth and breakdown strength decreased ***,for the blend,these changes initially exhibit opposite *** the irradiation was increased to 250 kGy,the AC breakdown strength of the blend improved by more than 21%compared to that of *** physical and chemical structures of the samples were investigated to explore the improvement *** results offer insights into the design of new cable-insulation materials suitable for NPPs.
