In the realm of microgrid(MG), the distributed load frequency control(LFC) system has proven to be highly susceptible to the negative effects of false data injection attacks(FDIAs). Considering the significant responsibility of the distributed LFC system for maintaining frequency stability within the MG, this paper proposes a detection and defense method against unobservable FDIAs in the distributed LFC system. Firstly, the method integrates a bi-directional long short-term memory(Bi LSTM) neural network and an improved whale optimization algorithm(IWOA) into the LFC controller to detect and counteract FDIAs. Secondly, to enable the Bi LSTM neural network to proficiently detect multiple types of FDIAs with utmost precision, the model employs a historical MG dataset comprising the frequency and power variances. Finally, the IWOA is utilized to optimize the proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controller parameters to counteract the negative impacts of FDIAs. The proposed detection and defense method is validated by building the distributed LFC system in Simulink.

In this study,we discuss how multi-agent systems(MASs)with a leader can achieve distributed bipartite tracking consensus using asynchronous impulsive control strategies.The proposed asynchronous impulsive control approach does not require the impulse to occur simultaneously for all agents.The communication links between neighboring nodes of MASs are antagonistic.When the leader’s control input is non-zero,sufficient conditions are obtained to achieve bipartite asynchronous impulsive tracking consensus in closed-loop MASs.More extensive ranges of asynchronous impulsive effects are discussed,and the designed controller’s feedback can effectively work against adverse impulsive permutation.Simple algebraic conditions for estimating the impulsive gain boundary and asynchronous impulsive interval are presented.Theoretical results are demonstrated with illustrative examples.

In this paper,an efficient image encryption scheme based on a novel mixed linear–nonlinear coupled map lattice(NMLNCML)system and DNA operations is presented.The proposed NMLNCML system strengthens the chaotic characteristics of the system,and is applicable for image encryption.The main advantages of the proposed method are embodied in its extensive key space;high sensitivity to secret keys;great resistance to chosen-plaintext attack,statistical attack,and differential attack;and good robustness to noise and data loss.Our image cryptosystem adopts the architecture of scrambling,compression,and diffusion.First,a plain image is transformed to a sparsity coefficient matrix by discrete wavelet transform,and plaintext-related Arnold scrambling is performed on the coefficient matrix.Then,semi-tensor product(STP)compressive sensing is employed to compress and encrypt the coefficient matrix.Finally,the compressed coefficient matrix is diffused by DNA random encoding,DNA addition,and bit XOR operation.The NMLNCML system is applied to generate chaotic elements in the STP measurement matrix of compressive sensing and the pseudo-random sequence in DNA operations.An SHA-384 function is used to produce plaintext secret keys and thus makes the proposed encryption algorithm highly sensitive to the original image.Simulation results and performance analyses verify the security and effectiveness of our scheme.

Boolean-network-based approach for construction of filter generators

In this paper, we view filter generators as Boolean networks(BNs), and discuss their poweranalysis-based side-channel analysis. An incompletely specified binary sequence always contains some bits called unnecessary bits comprising 1 or 0. Our motivation for considering this type of sequence is to reduce direct dependencies between side-channel information and key sequences. An algorithm is proposed to determine the unnecessary bits to increase the key search time required for adversaries rather than simply turning all unnecessary bits to 0(or 1). Then, to reduce area dissipation, under the framework of semi-tensor product(STP) of matrices, the problem of constructing filter generators with minimum number of stages is converted into the one of determining the corresponding transition matrices. Compared with the existing results, the lower bound of the minimum number of stages is provided, which can reduce the exhaustive search time required to find it. Finally, one example is used to illustrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.

Molecular machines are key to cellular activity where they are involved in converting chemical and light energy into efficient mechanical work.During the last 60 years,designing molecular structures capable of generating unidirectional mechanical motion at the nanoscale has been the topic of intense research.Effective progress has been made,attributed to advances in various fields such as supramolecular chemistry,biology and nanotechnology,and informatics.However,individual molecular machines are only capable of producing nanometer work and generally have only a single functionality.In order to address these problems,collective behaviors realized by integrating several or more of these individual mechanical units in space and time have become a new paradigm.In this review,we comprehensively discuss recent developments in the collective behaviors of molecular machines.In particular,collective behavior is divided into two paradigms.One is the appropriate integration of molecular machines to efficiently amplify molecular motions and deformations to construct novel functional materials.The other is the construction of swarming modes at the supramolecular level to perform nanoscale or microscale operations.We discuss design strategies for both modes and focus on the modulation of features and properties.Subsequently,in order to address existing challenges,the idea of transferring experience gained in the field of micro/nano robotics is presented,offering prospects for future developments in the collective behavior of molecular machines.

The digestibility of cadmium(Cd)in brown rice is directly related to amino acid metabolism in rice and human health.In our field study,three kinds of alkaline calcium-rich soil inorganic amendments(SIAs)at three dosages were applied to produce safe rice and improve the quality of rice in Cd-contaminated paddy.With the increased application of SIA,Cd content in iron plaque on rice root significantly increased,the transfer of Cd from rice root to grain significantly decreased,and then Cd content in brown rice decreased synchronously.The vitro digestibility of Cd in brown rice was estimated by a physiologically based extraction test.Results showed that more than 70%of Cd in brown rice could be digested by simulated gastrointestinal juice.Based on the total and digestible Cd contents in brown rice to evaluate the health risk,the application of 2.25 ton SIA/ha could produce safe rice in acidic slightly Cd-contaminated paddy soils.The amino acids(AAs)in brown rice were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.The contents of 5 key AAs(KAAs)that actively respond to environmental changes increased significantly with the increased application of SIA.The structural equation model indicated that KAAs could be affected by the Cd translocation capacity from rice root to grain,and consequently altered the ratio of indigestible Cd in brown rice.The formation of indigestible KAAs-Cd complexes by combining KAAs(phenylalanine,leucine,histidine,glutamine,and asparagine)with Cd in brown rice could be considered a potential mechanism for reducing the digestibility of Cd.

A random fault or a malicious attack can compromise the security of decryption systems. Using a stable and monotonous feedback shift register(FSR) as the main building block in a convolutional decoder can limit some error propagation. This work focuses on the synthesis of reliable(i.e., globally stable and monotonous) FSRs using the Boolean networks(BNs) method. First, we obtain an algebraic expression of the FSRs, based on which one necessary and sufficient condition for the monotonicity of the FSRs is given.Then, we obtain the upper bound of the number of cyclic attractors for monotonous FSRs. Furthermore,we propose one method of constructing n-stage reliable FSRs, and figure out that the number of reliable FSRs is 2~(2n-4)/φ(n)(n > 5) times of that constructed by the existing method, where φ denotes the Euler’s totient function. Finally, the proposed method and the obtained results are verified by some examples.
