Screening and confirmation methods of the major urinary metabolite of finasteride–carboxy-finasteride for doping control purpose were developed.Liquid–liquid extraction was adopted for the sample preparation.Analytes were detected by positive electrospray ionization in single quadrupole and triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.In the screening method,selected ion monitoring(SIM)mode was used to monitor m/z 403 for carboxy-finasteride.In the confirmation method,product ion mode was used to monitor the precursor ion m/z 403.The limit of detection was below 2 ng/mL for the screening method.Good linearity was obtained in the range 10.0–500.0 ng/mL.The intra-run and inter-run precision calculated from quality control(QC)samples was less than 5.3%.The accuracy as determined from QC samples was within ±6.6%.The screening method was applied for the analysis of excretion samples,allowing the detection of carboxy-finasteride for up to 49 h in urine specimen collected after an oral administration of 5 mg of finasteride.

Self-swelling derived frameworks with rigidity and flexibility enabling high-reversible silicon anodes

Silicon is recognized as the most advantageous next-generation anode material for LIBs in terms of its extremely high theoretical capacity and appropriate operating voltage.However,the application of Si anode is limited by huge volume expansion emerging with cycling,which in turn induces the collapse of the electrode structure,resulting in rapid capacity decay.Here,we report a strategy using self-swelling artificial laponite to prepare a laponite/MXene/CNT composite framework with both rigidity and flexibility,which can excellently address these challenges of Si anode.The self-swelling artificial laponite participates in the construction of hierarchical and porous structures,providing sufficient buffer space to mitigate the volume expansion of the LixSi alloying reaction.Meanwhile,tough and tightly cross-linked silicate nanosheets can improve the mechanical strength of the framework for strong structural stability.More importantly,the negative charge between the layers of artificial laponite can effectively promote fast Li-ion transport in the electrode.This free-standing silicon anode enables the preparation of high areal capacity electrodes to further enhance the energy density of LIBs and a higher reversible capacity of 2381.8 mAh/g at 0.1 C after 50 cycles with an initial coulombic of 85.6%.This work provides a simple and practical fabrication strategy for developing high-performance Si-based batteries,which can speed up their commercialization.

Thermochemical energy storage based on CaO/CaCO_(3)cycles has obtained significant attention as an alternative energy storage solution for concentrated solar power plants.In view of the applicability of fluidized bed reactors for CaO/CaCO_(3)heat storage,it is imperative to study the factors related to the heat release performance of CaO.This work presents an exothermic experiment on calcined limestone under fluidization,exploring the impact of initial temperature,CO_(2)concentration,particle size,superficial gas velocity,and number of cycles on the exothermic performance of CaO.The result indicates that CaO with high initial temperature leads to higher exothermic temperature,with better exothermic stability under cycles.An optimal initial temperature range of 600℃-650℃exists with an actual CaO conversion rate deviating merely 2%from theoretical conversion.Higher CO_(2)concentration augments the exothermic temperature and rate of CaO,while also improves the effective conversion of CaO.Nevertheless,high CO_(2)concentrations exacerbate the sintering and deactivation of CaO.High superficial gas velocity and small particle size shorten the exothermic time by increasing heat dissipation,but has minimal effect on the exothermic properties.Finally,the exothermic properties of CaO under fluidized and static conditions are studied.The result shows that exothermic temperature and exothermic rate of CaO under fluidization are enhanced,displaying higher heat storage performance than that under static state.This study provides valuable insights for optimizing the exothermic performance of CaO in fluidized bed reactors,contributing to advanced thermochemical energy storage for concentrated solar power plants.

Aqueous rechargeable zinc ion batteries are regarded as a competitive alternative to lithium-ion batteries because of their distinct advantages of high security,high energy density,low cost,and environmental friendliness.However,deep-seated problems including Zn dendrite and adverse side reactions severely impede the practical application.In this work,we proposed a freestanding Zn-electrolyte interfacial layer composed of multicapsular carbon fibers(MCFs)to regulate the plating/stripping behavior of Zn anodes.The versatile MCFs protective layer can uniformize the electric field and Zn^(2+)flux,meanwhile,reduce the deposition overpotentials,leading to high-quality and rapid Zn deposition kinetics.Furthermore,the bottom-up and uniform deposition of Zn on the Zn-MCFs interface endows long-term and high-capacity plating.Accordingly,the Zn@MCFs symmetric batteries can keep working up to 1500 h with 5 mAh cm^(−2).The feasibility of the MCFs interfacial layer is also convinced in Zn@MCFs||MnO_(2) batteries.Remarkably,the Zn@MCFs||α-MnO_(2)batteries deliver a high specific capacity of 236.1 mAh g^(−1)at 1 A g^(−1)with excellent stability,and maintain an exhilarating energy density of 154.3 Wh kg^(−1) at 33%depth of discharge in pouch batteries.

A novel Tm^(3+)/Tb^(3+)/Sm^(3+)tri-doped Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)single crystal was synthesized by a modified Bridgman method for the propose of white light emitting diodes.The fluorescence spectra of various Sm^(3+)ion concentrations and fixed 0.4 mol%Tm^(3+)and 0.5 mol%Tb^(3+)were measured and studied systematically excited by near-ultraviolet light of 355 nm.The Sm3+ion concentration takes apparent effect on the relative intensity of peaks in the visible region and the color coordinate combining from these emission bands.A near pure white light emission with color coordinates(0.3295,0.3057)and color temperature(5657 K)can be obtained when the concentrations of Tm^(3+),Tb^(3+)and Sm^(3+)ions are 0.4 mol%,0.5 mol%and 0.8 mol%,respectively.Furthermore,the practical down-conversion internal quantum yield was measured by integrating spheres at about 14.39%.The tri-doped Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)single crystal shows a high thermal stability inferring from the temperature dependent emission in which the integrated emission intensities are reduced only by^3%with the increase of temperature from 280 to 450 K.The present results demonstrate that the Tm^(3+)/Tb^(3+)/Sm^(3+)tri-doped Na_(5)Y_(9)F_(32)single crystal may provide a promising candidate for white light-emitting diodes,luminescent materials and fluorescent display devices.

The ecological quality of inland areas is an important aspect of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(UN SDGs).The ecological environment of Northwest China is vulnerable to changes in climate and land use/land cover,and the changes in ecological quality in this arid region over the last two decades are not well understood.This makes it more difficult to advance the UN SDGs and develop appropriate measures at the regional level.In this study,we used the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)products to generate remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)on the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform to examine the relationship between ecological quality and environment in Xinjiang during the last two decades(from 2000 to 2020).We analyzed a 21-year time series of the trends and spatial characteristics of ecological quality.We further assessed the importance of different environmental factors affecting ecological quality through the random forest algorithm using data from statistical yearbooks and land use products.Our results show that the RSEI constructed using the GEE platform can accurately reflect the ecological quality information in Xinjiang because the contribution of the first principal component was higher than 90.00%.The ecological quality in Xinjiang has increased significantly over the last two decades,with the northern part of this region having a better ecological quality than the southern part.The areas with slightly improved ecological quality accounted for 31.26%of the total land area of Xinjiang,whereas only 3.55%of the land area was classified as having a slightly worsen(3.16%)or worsen(0.39%)ecological quality.The vast majority of the deterioration in ecological quality mainly occurred in the barren areas Temperature,precipitation,closed shrublands,grasslands and savannas were the top five environmental factors affecting the changes in RSEI.Environmental factors were allocated different weights for different RSEI categories.In general,the recovery of ecological quality in Xinjiang

Diabetes mellitus(DM)is one of the most common diseases in the elderly,and among DM patients,more than 90%have type 2 DM(T2DM).The etiology of T2DM is complex and associated with risk factors such as age,genetic disposition,and diet.The genetic factors underlying T2DM are currently the focus of intense research,and it has been established that the susceptibility genes associated with T2DM vary among different populations.A recent longitudinal exome-wide association study in the Japanese population has identified GGA3 as a susceptible locus for T2DM.1 GGA3 is one of the Golgi-localized-ear-containing ARF binding proteins(GGAs)that function widely in the transport of Golgi-derived vesicles and in endocytic trafficking pathways.However,although it is widely acknowledged that the control of glucose homeostasis via endocytosis and glucose metabolism plays a vital role in T2DM,the associations between intracellular trafficking and diabetes pathogenesis have not been sufficiently established.In this study,we used a Gga3 gene knockout mouse strain to investigate the potential involvement of GGA3 in controlling blood glucose.The study was approved by the ethics committee of Jining Medical University(No.2019-JS-005).Our results indicate that the GGA3 gene might play a protective role against diabetes.

Impact craters are formed due to the high-speed collisions between small to medium-sized celestial bodies.Impact is the most significant driving force in the evolution of celestial bodies,and the impact craters provide crucial insights into the formation,evolution,and impact history of celestial bodies.In this paper,we present a detailed review of the characteristics of impact craters,impact crater remote sensing data,recognition algorithms,and applications related to impact craters.We first provide a detailed description of the geometric texture,illumination,and morphology characteristics observed in remote sensing data of craters.Then we summarize the remote sensing data and cataloging databases for the four terrestrial planets(i.e.,the Moon,Mars,Mercury,and Venus),as well as the impact craters on Ceres.Subsequently,we study the advancement achieved in the traditional methods,machine learning methods,and deep learning methods applied to the classification,segmentation,and recognition of impact craters.Furthermore,based on the analysis results,we discuss the existing challenges in impact crater recognition and suggest some solutions.Finally,we explore the implementation of impact crater detection algorithms and provide a forward-looking perspective.

The practical application of aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)is limited by the growth of dendrite during cycling.How to rationally design and construct an efficient artificial interface layer by selecting suitable building units to control the dendrite growth is still a challenge.Herein,a porous boron nitride nanofibers(BNNFs)artificial interface layer was constructed,and its working mechanisms were revealed by both experiments(electrochemical characterization and in-situ optical microscope)and theoretical calculations(density functional theory(DFT)and finite element simulation).The insulated BNNFs layer leads to position-selected electroplating between BNNFs layer and Zn foil.The unique negatively charged surface and porosity of BNNFs contribute to the self-concentrating and pumping features of Zn ions,thus suppressing the concentration polarization on the Zn surface.Additionally,densely arranged porous BNNFs have a shunt effect on Zn ions diffusion,resulting in uniform distributions of Zn ions and electric field.The introduced BNNFs layer not only makes Zn deposition uniform but also restrains the dendrite growth,therefore the Zn+BNNFs symmetric cells perform ultralong stable cycling for 1,600 h at 1 mA·cm–2 and more than 500 h at 10 mA·cm–2.Moreover,Zn+BNNFs||CNT/MnO2 battery presents a high initial capacity of 293.6 mAh·g–1 and an excellent retention rate of 97.6%at 1 A·g–1 after 400 cycles,while Zn||CNT/MnO2 battery only maintains 37.1%discharge capacity.This artificial interface layer with negatively charged BNNFs exhibits excellent dendrite-inhibit and may have enormous prospects in other metal batteries.
