Magnolol additive as a replacer of antibiotic enhances the growth performance of Linwu ducks

Magnolol rich in Magnolia officinalis is a bioactive polyphenolic compound. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of magnolol additive(MA) on growth performance, expression levels of antioxidantrelated genes, and intestinal mucosal morphology of Linwu ducks aged from 49 to 70 days, comparing with that of an antibiotic additive(colistin sulfate [CS]). A total of 275,49-day-old ducks were assigned to5 groups with 5 cages of 11 ducks each and fed diets supplemented with 0,100, 200 and 300 mg of MA/kg and 300 mg of CS/kg for 3 weeks, respectively. The results showed that the average daily body weight gain(ADG) was increased significantly in MA-fed groups(200 and 300 mg/kg), compared with the basal diet(BD) group(P he mRNA levels of superoxide dismutase-1(SOD1), manganese superoxide dismutase-2(MnSOD2) and catalase(CAT) were also increased significantly in MA groups(P hematoxylin and eosin staining revealed that Linwu ducks fed the diets with MA had more intact intestinal mucosa than those fed the BD and CS diets. In addition, ileal villus height, ileal villus height/crypt depth ratio(V/C) and duodenal V/C were also improved significantly(P her, these data demonstrated that MA is an effective feed additive to enhance the growth performance of the Linwu ducks by improving the antioxidant and intestinal mucosal status, suggesting that MA will be a potential additive to replace antibiotic(CS).

Distributed Matching Theory-Based Task Re-Allocating for heterogeneous Multi-UAV Edge Computing

Many efforts have been devoted to efficient task scheduling in Multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)edge ***,the heterogeneity of UAV computation resource,and the task re-allocating between UAVs have not been fully considered ***,most existing works neglect the fact that a task can only be executed on the UAV equipped with its desired service function(SF).In this backdrop,this paper formulates the task scheduling problem as a multi-objective task scheduling problem,which aims at maximizing the task execution success ratio while minimizing the average weighted sum of all tasks’completion time and energy *** three coupled goals in a realtime manner with the dynamic arrival of tasks hinders us from adopting existing methods,like machine learning-based solutions that require a long training time and tremendous pre-knowledge about the task arrival process,or heuristic-based ones that usually incur a long decision-making *** tackle this problem in a distributed manner,we establish a matching theory framework,in which three conflicting goals are treated as the preferences of tasks,SFs and ***,a Distributed Matching Theory-based Re-allocating(DiMaToRe)algorithm is put *** formally proved that a stable matching can be achieved by our *** simulation results show that Di Ma To Re algorithm outperforms benchmark algorithms under diverse parameter settings and has good robustness.

The behaviors of gas-liquid two-phase flow under gas kick during horizontal drilling with oil-based muds

Natural gas is easily soluble in oil-based muds(OBM), leading to complex flow behavior in wellbores,especially in horizontal wells. In this study, a new transient flow model considering wellbore-formation coupling and gas solubility on flow behavior is developed to simulate gas kicks during horizontal drilling with OBM. Furthermore, the effect of gas solubility on parameters such as bottom-hole pressure(BHP),gas void fraction and mixture velocity in the flow behavior is analyzed. Finally, several critical factors affecting flow behavior are investigated and compared to gas kicks in water-based muds(WBM) where the effect of solubility is neglected. The results show that the invading gas exists as dissolved gas in the OBM and as free gas in the WBM. Before the gas escapes from the OBM, the pit gain is zero and there is barely any change in the BHP, annulus return flow rate and mixture velocity, which means that detecting gas kicks through these warning signs can be challenging until they get very close to the surface and develop rapidly. However, in WBM drilling, these parameters change quickly with the increasing gas kick time. Additionally, for both cases, the longer the horizontal length and the greater reservoir permeability,the greater the decrease in BHP, and the shorter the time for gas to migrate from the bottom-hole to the wellhead. A larger flow rate contributes to a greater initial BHP and a lesser BHP reduction. This research is of value in characterizing gas kick behavior and identifying novel ways for early gas kick detection during horizontal drilling with OBM.

Numerical simulation on sand sedimentation and erosion characteristics around HDPE sheet sand barrier under different wind angles

For the safety of railroad operations,sand barriers are utilized to mitigate wind-sand disaster *** disasters,characterized by multi-directional wind patterns,result in diverse angles among the *** this study,using numerical simulations,we examined the behavior of High Density Polyethylene(HDPE)sheet sand barriers under different wind angles,focusing on flow field distribution,windproof efficiency,and sedimentation erosion *** study discovered that at a steady wind speed,airflow velocity varies as the angle between the airflow and the HDPE barrier ***,a 90°angle results in the widest low-speed airflow area on the barrier’s downwind *** the airflow is not perpendicular to the barrier,it prompts a lateral airflow movement which decreases as the angle *** windproof efficiency correlates directly with this angle but inversely with the wind’s ***,with a wind angle of 90°,wind speed drops by 81%.The minimum wind speed is found at 5.1H(the sand barrier height)on the barrier’s downwind *** the angle grows,the barrier’s windproof efficiency improves,extending its protective *** is most prominent on the barrier’s downwind side,as the wind angle shifts from 30°to 90°,the sand sedimentation area on the barrier’s downwind side enlarges by *** the angle grows,sedimentation intensifies,eventually overtakes the forward erosion and enlarges the sedimentation area.

Simultaneous removal of 1,2-dichlorobenzene and furan over Mn-Ce-Fe oxide catalyst:Catalytic activity and product analysis

Initiation, organizational modes and environmental conditions of severe convective wind events during the warm season over North China

Based on the significant weather report, CG lightning, composite radar reflectivity, and ERA5 reanalysis data, we first studied the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of four types(only severe convective wind(SCW); SCW and hail;SCWand short-duration heavy rainfall(SDHR); and SCW, hail, and SDHR) of convective weather events related to SCW during the warm season(May to September) from 2011 to 2018 in North China. Second, severe convective cases producing SCW were selected to statistically analyze the initiation, decay, lifetime, and organizational characteristics of convective systems. Finally,using ERA5 reanalysis data and conventional surface observation data, preconvective soundings were constructed to explore the differences in environmental conditions for initiating convective systems between SCW and non-SCW. The results indicate that mixed-type of SCW and SDHR events occur more frequently over plains, while other types of convective weather occur more frequently over mountains. The frequency peak of SCW occurs in June, while mixed convective weather peaks in July. The initiation time of convective systems is concentrated between 1000 and 1300 BST, with a peak at 1200 BST. Over mountains, the daily peaks of ordinary and significant SCW generally occur at 1700–1800 BST and 1600–1700 BST, respectively, while over plains, the peak of ordinary SCW typically lags behind that of mountains by 1–2 hours. Additionally, SCW systems are mainly initiated over mountains, with most lifetimes lasting 7–13 hours. Nonlinear convective systems produce the most SCW events,followed by trailing-stratiform convective systems. The convective available potential energy(CAPE), downdraft convective available potential energy, and the temperature difference between 850 and 500 hPa can all distinguish between SCW systems and non-SCW systems occurring over plains. Numerical investigation of the photo-thermal characteristics of a direct absorption solar collector using Monte Carlo and finite volume methods

In this study, a novel model of photothermal conversion in a direct absorption solar collector based on the Monte Carlo and finite volume methods was built and validated and the temperatures of the novel and traditional solar collectors were compared. The sensitivity of the parameters to the radiative heat loss was investigated. Finally, the radiative heat transfer characteristics were discussed using the radiative exchange factor. The results of this study validated the advantages of the novel solar collector at both the surface and fluid temperatures. Under the conditions used in this study, the maximum temperature difference of the novel solar collector was 30 K, compared with 193 K for the traditional solar collector. Furthermore, the collector was divided into several units along the flow direction. The radiative exchange factor indicated that with an increase in the attenuation coefficient, the percentage of radiation intensity in the total solar radiation absorbed by the corresponding unit ***, it decreased with an increase in the incident angle and scattering albedo. These results provide a reference for addressing the low efficiency and thermal damage caused by traditional solar collectors at high temperatures.

本文基于对凉山州美姑、甘洛、越西、盐源四县的田野调查,发现自抵制高价彩礼的《凉山彝族自治州移风易俗条例》实施以来,凉山彝族彩礼经历了从“无礼不婚”到“以礼入婚”的过程。无礼不婚,指彩礼在凉山彝族婚姻中扮演着不可或缺的角色,甚至没有彩礼就无法成婚。高价彩礼强化偿付和资助功能,使其在维系社会关系、婚俗礼仪上的社会文化功能弱化。以礼入婚,是指通过对彩礼数额的调整,使彩礼在功能和意义层面发生改变,并将其纳入新的文化系统中。从“无礼不婚”到“以礼入婚”的动态转变,表明彩礼仍然是婚姻缔结程序中不可缺少的一环,其文化价值是值得保留的。通过对彩礼功能与意义的重新整合,使之切合群众利益,这样彩礼作为彝族地方性知识才能具有兼容现代化的能力与空间。当前抵制高价彩礼的具体实践仍处于探索阶段,彩礼在彝族地区所出现的变化如何影响其社会结构与文化系统,二者在移风易俗进程中的互动与整合是值得研究与思考的。
