SGNR: A Social Graph Neural Network Based Interactive Recommendation Scheme for E-Commerce

Interactive Recommendation(IR)formulates the recommendation as a multi-step decision-making process which can actively utilize the individuals’feedback in multiple steps and optimize the long-term user benefit of recommendation.Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)has witnessed great application in IR for ecommerce.However,user cold-start problem impairs the learning process of the DRL-based recommendation scheme.Moreover,most existing DRL-based recommendations ignore user relationships or only consider the single-hop social relationships,which cannot fully utilize the social network.The fact that those schemes can not capture the multiple-hop social relationships among users in IR will result in a sub-optimal recommendation.To address the above issues,this paper proposes a Social Graph Neural network-based interactive Recommendation scheme(SGNR),which is a multiple-hop social relationships enhanced DRL framework.Within this framework,the multiple-hop social relationships among users are extracted from the social network via the graph neural network which can sufficiently take advantage of the social network to provide more personalized recommendations and effectively alleviate the user cold-start problem.The experimental results on two real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed SGNR outperforms other state-of-the-art DRL-based methods that fail to consider social relationships or only consider single-hop social relationships.

Online advertising click-through rate(CTR) prediction is aimed at predicting the probability of a user clicking an ad,and it has undergone considerable development in recent years.One of the hot topics in this area is the construction of feature interactions to facilitate accurate prediction.Factorization machine provides second-order feature interactions by linearly multiplying hidden feature factors.However,real-world data present a complex and nonlinear structure.Hence,second-order feature interactions are unable to represent cross information adequately.This drawback has been addressed using deep neural networks(DNNs),which enable high-order nonlinear feature interactions.However,DNN-based feature interactions cannot easily optimize deep structures because of the absence of cross information in the original features.In this study,we propose an effective CTR prediction algorithm called CAN,which explicitly exploits the benefits of attention mechanisms and DNN models.The attention mechanism is used to provide rich and expressive low-order feature interactions and facilitate the optimization of DNN-based predictors that implicitly incorporate high-order nonlinear feature interactions.The experiments using two real datasets demonstrate that our proposed CAN model performs better than other cross feature-and DNN-based predictors.

Kaempferol ameliorated levodopa-induced dyskinesia in experimental rats: A role of brain monoamines, cFOS, FosB, Parkin, Pdyn, TH, and p-JNK

Background:L-dopa(Levodopa)is well known for managing PD(Parkinson’s disease);however,its prolonged use caused dyskinesia(LID).Due to the varied presentation of LID,effective treatment options are scarce.Flavonoids reported their neuroprotective activity by ameliorating acetylcholinesterase,monoamine oxidase,and neuroinﬂammation.Kaempferol is anotherﬂavonoid bearing these potentials.Aim:To evaluate neuroprotective activity of kaempferol in dyskinetic rats.Methods:PD was developed in Sprague-Dawley rats by injecting combination of L-ascorbic acid(10µL)+6-OHDA(12µg)in medial forebrain bundle to induce neuronal damage in substantial nigra(SNr).LID was induced by administrating combination of L-dopa(20 mg/kg)+benserazide HCl(5 mg/kg)for 42 days.Rats were concomitantly treated with amantadine(40 mg/kg)or kaempferol(25,50,and 100 mg/kg,p.o.).Results:Kaempferol(50 and 100 mg/kg)markedly(pmal involuntary movements(AIMs)and alternation in motor function.Kaempferol administration considerably(p<0.05)inhibited reduced mitochondrial complex activities,serotonin and dopamine levels,Bcl-2,and Tyrosine hydroxylase protein expressions in SNr.Additionally,kaempferol considerably(p<0.05)attenuated increased cFOS,FosB,Parkin,and Pdyn mRNAs expressions,Bax,cleaved caspase-3,caspase-3,and pJNK proteins levels;DOPAC and 5-HIAA levels in SNr.A positive correlation was reported between cFOS,FosB,Parkin,Pdyn,apoptosis,and TH with AIMs.Conclusion:Kaempferol effectively attenuated L-dopa-induced AIMs and dyskinesia via amelioration of alterations in cFOS,FosB,Parkin,Pdyn,Tyrosine hydroxylase,and apoptosis in the brain SNr.

Recent advances and remaining challenges in lung cancer therapy

Lung cancer remains the most common cause of cancer death.Given the continued research into new drugs and combination therapies,outcomes in lung cancer have been improved,and clinical benefits have been expanded to a broader patient population.However,the overall cure and survival rates for lung cancer patients remain low,especially in metastatic cases.Among the available lung cancer treatment options,such as surgery,radiation therapy,chemotherapy,targeted therapies,and alternative therapies,immunotherapy has shown to be the most promising.The exponential progress in immuno-oncology research and recent advancements made in the field of immunotherapy will further increase the survival and quality of life for lung cancer patients.Substantial progress has been made in targeted therapies using tyrosine kinase inhibitors and monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitors with many US Food And Drug Administration(FDA)-approved drugs targeting the programmed cell death ligand-1 protein(e.g.,durvalumab,atezolizumab),the programmed cell death-1 receptor(e.g.,nivolumab,pembrolizumab),and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4(e.g.,tremelimumab,ipilimumab).Cytokines,cancer vaccines,adoptive T cell therapies,and Natural killer cell mono-and combinational therapies are rapidly being studied,yet to date,there are currently none that are FDA-approved for the treatment of lung cancer.In this review,we discuss the current lung cancer therapies with an emphasis on immunotherapy,including the challenges for future research and clinical applications.

Initiation and Evolution of Long-Lived Eastward-Propagating Mesoscale Convective Systems over the Second-Step Terrain along Yangtze-Huaihe River Valley

Based on the previous statistical analysis of mesoscale convective systems(MCSs)over the second-step terrain along Yangtze-Huaihe River Valley,eight representative long-lived eastward-propagating MCSs are selected for model-based sensitivity testing to investigate the initiation and evolution of these types of MCSs as well as their impact on downstream areas.We subject each MCS to a semi-idealized(CNTL)simulation and a sensitivity(NOLH)simulation that neglects condensational heating in the formation region.The CNTL experiment reveals convection forms in the region downstream of a shortwave trough typified by persistent southwesterly winds in the low-to midtroposphere.Upon merging with other convective systems,moist convection develops into an MCS,which propagates eastward under the influence of mid-tropospheric westerlies,and moves out of the second-step terrain.The MCS then merges with pre-existing local convection over the plains;the merged convection reinforces the cyclonic wind perturbation into a mesoscale vortex at 850 hPa.While this vortex moves eastward to regions with local vortex at 850 hPa,another vortex at 925 hPa is also intensified.Finally,the vortices at 850 and 925 hPa merge together and develop into a mesoscale convective vortex(MCV).In contrast,MCSs fail to form and move eastward in the NOLH experiment.In the absence of eastward-propagating MCSs,moist convection and mesoscale vortices still appear in the plains,but the vortex strength and precipitation intensity are significantly weakened.It is suggested the eastward-propagating MCSs over the second-step terrain significantly impact the development and enhancement of moist convection and vortices in the downstream areas.

An Integrated Incentive Framework for Mobile Crowdsourced Sensing

Currently, mobile devices （e.g., smartphones） are equipped with multiple wireless interfaces and rich builtin functional sensors that possess powerful computation and communication capabilities, and enable numerous Mobile Crowdsourced Sensing （MCS） applications. Generally, an MCS system is composed of three components： a publisher of sensing tasks, crowd participants who complete the crowdsourced tasks for some kinds of rewards, and the crowdsourcing platform that facilitates the interaction between publishers and crowd participants. Incentives are a fundamental issue in MCS. This paper proposes an integrated incentive framework for MCS, which appropriately utilizes three widely used incentive methods： reverse auction, gamification, and reputation updating. Firstly, a reverse-auction-based two-round participant selection mechanism is proposed to incentivize crowds to actively participate and provide high-quality sensing data. Secondly, in order to avoid untruthful publisher feedback about sensing-data quality, a gamification-based verification mechanism is designed to evaluate the truthfulness of the publisher＇s feedback. Finally, the platform updates the reputation of both participants and publishers based on their corresponding behaviors. This integrated incentive mechanism can motivate participants to provide high-quality sensed contents, stimulate publishers to give truthful feedback, and make the platform profitable.

Multi-Branch Cable Harness Layout Design Based on Genetic Algorithm with Probabilistic Roadmap Method

Current studies on cable harness layouts have mainly focused on cable harness route planning.However,the topological structure of a cable harness is also extremely complex,and the branch structure of the cable harness can affect the route of the cable harness layout.The topological structure design of the cable harness is a key to such a layout.In this paper,a novel multi-branch cable harness layout design method is presented,which unites the probabilistic roadmap method(PRM)and the genetic algorithm.First,the engineering constraints of the cable harness layout are presented.An obstacle-based PRM used to construct non-interference and near to the surface roadmap is then described.In addition,a new genetic algorithm is proposed,and the algorithm structure of which is redesigned.In addition,the operation probability formula related to fitness is proposed to promote the efficiency of the branch structure design of the cable harness.A prototype system of a cable harness layout design was developed based on the method described in this study,and the method is applied to two scenarios to verify that a quality cable harness layout can be efficiently obtained using the proposed method.In summary,the cable harness layout design method described in this study can be used to quickly design a reasonable topological structure of a cable harness and to search for the corresponding routes of such a harness.

On demand bidirectional shape transformations and novel chiral actuators of photomediated shape memory polymer film based on photothermal OEGy-W_(18)O_(49)nanowires

The spatially controllable shape-shifting behaviors of a planar two-dimensional(2D)film to three-dimensional(3D)shapes upon external stimuli are of paramount significance for the development of smart materials.Herein,the present work focuses on fabricating plain film whose shape can be remotely and spatially transformed into various 3D configurations via the formation of a laser-induced temperature gradient;when subjected to laser irradiation,the prestretched hybrid films exhibit out-of-plane bending behavior owing to anisotropic chain relaxation and strain energy release.On this basis,various sophisticated shape transformations can be achieved by site-specific irradiations of laser with a controllable magnitude.Meanwhile,shape morphing involving reversible bending transformations can also be realized by employing the laser on the corresponding opposite side of the hybrid films.Remarkably,under a 160 mW/cm^(2) simulated sunlight illumination,the transformation of flat 2D film into 3D chiral actuators is driven by material anisotropy and geometrical heterogeneity of a bilayer strip design,and it yields right and left-handed helix,the morphologies of the helix shape can be precisely tailored by the strip angles and strain values.

Mn doping effects on the gate-tunable transport properties of Cd3As2 films epitaxied on GaAs

The Mn doping effects on the gate-tunable transport properties of topological Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 films have been investigated.Mn-doped Cd3As2 films are directly grown on GaAs(111)B substrates by molecular-beam epitaxy,during which the single crystal phase can be obtained with Mn concentration less than 2%.Shubnikov-de Haas oscillation and quantum Hall effect are observed at low temperatures,and electrons are found to be the dominant carrier in the whole temperature range.Higher Mn content results in smaller lattice constant,lower electron mobility and larger effective band gap,while the carrier density seems to be unaffected by Mn-doping.Gating experiments show that Shubnikov-de Haas oscillation and quantum Hall effect are slightly modulated by electric field,which can be explained by the variation of electron density.Our results provide useful information for understanding the magnetic element doping effects on the transport properties of Cd3As2 films.

Continuous adaptive gaits manipulation for three-fingered robotic hands via bioinspired fingertip contact events

The remarkable skill of changing its grasp status and relocating its fingers to perform continuous in-hand manipulation is essential for a multifingered anthropomorphic hand.A commonly utilized method of manipulation involves a series of basic movements executed by a high-level controller.However,it remains unclear how these primitives evolve into sophisticated finger gaits during manipulation.Here,we propose an adaptive finger gait-based manipulation method that offers real-time regulation by dynamically changing the primitive interval to ensure the force/moment balance of the object.Successful manipulation relies on contact events that act as triggers for real-time online replanning of multifinger manipulation.We identify four basic motion primitives of finger gaits and create a heuristic finger gait that enables the continuous object rotation of a round cup.Our experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.Despite the constant breaking and reengaging of contact between the fingers and the object during manipulation,the robotic hand can reliably manipulate the object without failure.Even when the object is subjected to interfering forces,the proposed method demonstrates robustness in managing interference.This work has great potential for application to the dexterous operation of anthropomorphic multifingered hands.
