The high variability of shock in terrorist attacks poses a threat to people's lives and properties,necessitating the development of more effective protective *** study focuses on the angle gradient and proposes four different configurations of concave hexagonal honeycomb *** structures'macroscopic deformation behavior,stress-strain relationship,and energy dissipation characteristics are evaluated through quasi-static compression and Hopkinson pressure bar impact *** study reveals that,under varying strain rates,the structures deform starting from the weak layer and exhibit significant interlayer ***,interlayer shear slip becomes more pronounced with increasing strain *** terms of quasi-static compression,symmetric gradient structures demonstrate superior energy absorption,particularly the symmetric negative gradient structure(SNG-SMS)with a specific energy absorption of 13.77 J/cm~*** dynamic impact,unidirectional gradient structures exhibit exceptional energy absorption,particularly the unidirectional positive gradient honeycomb structure(UPG-SML)with outstanding mechanical *** angle gradient design plays a crucial role in determining the structure's stability and deformation mode during *** interlayer separations result in a more pronounced negative Poisson's ratio effect and enhance the structure's energy absorption *** findings provide a foundation for the rational design and selection of seismic protection structures in different strain rate impact environments.

Cells are capable of sensing and responding to the extracellular mechanical microenvironment via the actin *** vivo,tissues are frequently subject to mechanical forces,such as the rapid and significant shear flow encountered by vascular endothelial ***,the investigations about the transient response of intracellular actin networks under these intense external mechanical forces,their intrinsic mechanisms,and potential implications are very ***,we observe that when cells are subject to the shear flow,an actin ring structure could be rapidly assembled at the periphery of the *** gain insights into the mechanism underlying this perinuclear actin ring assembly,we develop a computational model of actin *** demonstrate that this perinuclear actin ring assembly is triggered by the depolymerization of cortical actin,Arp2/3-dependent actin filament polymerization,and myosin-mediated actin network ***,we discover that the compressive stress generated by the perinuclear actin ring could lead to a reduction in the nuclear spreading area,an increase in the nuclear height,and a decrease in the nuclear *** present model thus explains the mechanism of the perinuclear actin ring assembly under external mechanical forces and suggests that the spontaneous contraction of this actin structure can significantly impact nuclear morphology.

Contribution of Surface Waves to Sea Surface Temperatures in the Arctic Ocean

The aim of our study was to examine the contribution of surface waves from WAVEWATCH-III(WW3) to the variation in sea surface temperature(SST) in the Arctic Ocean. The simulated significant wave height(SWH) were validated against the products from Haiyang-2B(HY-2B) in 2021, obtaining a root mean squared error(RMSE) of 0.45 with a correlation of 0.96 and scatter index of 0.18. The wave-induced effects, i.e., wave breaking and mixing induced by nonbearing waves resulting in changes in radiation stress and Stokes drift, were calculated from WW3, ERA-5 wind, SST, and salinity data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction and were taken as forcing fields in the Stony Brook Parallel Ocean Model. The results showed that an RMSE of 0.81℃ with wave-induced effects was less than the RMSE of 1.11℃ achieved without the wave term compared with the simulated SST with the measurements from Argos. Considering the four wave effects and sea ice freezing, the SST in the Arctic Ocean decreased by up to 1℃ in winter. Regression analysis revealed that the SWH was linear in SST(values without subtraction of waves) in summer and autumn, but this behavior was not observed in spring or winter due to the presence of sea ice. The interannual variation also presented a negative relationship between the difference in SST and SWH.

AIM:To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of combining panretinal photocoagulation(PRP)with intravitreal conbercept(IVC)injections for patients with high-risk proliferative diabetic retinopathy(HR-PDR)complicated by mild or moderate vitreous hemorrhage(VH),with or without diabetic macular edema(DME).METHODS:Patients diagnosed with VH with/without DME secondary to HR-PDR and received PRP combined with IVC injections were recruited in this retrospective *** establishing the patient’s diagnosis,an initial IVC was performed,followed by prompt administration of *** cases who significant bleeding persisted and impeded the laser operation,IVC was sustained before supplementing with *** the completion of PRP,patients were meticulously monitored for a minimum of six *** therapy and IVC injections were judiciously adjusted based on fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)*** effect and the incidence of adverse events were ***:Out of 42 patients(74 eyes),29 were male and 13 were female,with a mean age of 59.17±12.74y(33-84y).The diabetic history was between 1wk and 26y,and the interval between the onset of visual symptoms and diagnosis of HR-PDR was *** affected eye received 2.59±1.87(1-10)IVC injections and underwent 5.5±1.02(4-8)sessions of *** these,68 eyes received PRP following 1 IVC injection,5 eyes after 2 IVC injections,and 1 eye after 3 IVC *** absorption of VH was observed in all 74 eyes 5-50wk after initial treatment,with resolution of DME in 51 eyes 3-48wk after initial treatment.A newly developed epiretinal membrane was noted in one *** acuity significantly improved in 25 *** complications such as glaucoma,retinal detachment,or endophthalmitis were ***:The study suggests that the combination of PRP with IVC injections is an effective and safe modality for treating diabetic VH in patients with HR-PDR.

The microphases and miscibility in binary curcumin(Cur)solid dispersions(SDs)with amorphous polyvinylpyrrolidone K30(PVP K30)and semi-crystalline poloxamer(P407)and poly(ethylene glycol)6000(PEG6000)as carriers were investigated by fluorescence contrasting utilizing confocal laser scanning microscopy.A super sensitive fluorophore P4 with typical aggregation-caused quenching properties was employed to stain the continuous polymer phases and contrasted with the autofluorescence of the model drug *** addition,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)and powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD)were utilized to assist in explanation of the fluorescence *** all three SD systems,there is always a homogenous polymer phase stained by P4 and it is difficult to adulterate Cur crystals by ***-enriched rather than polymer-enriched domains could be *** the Cur-PVP K30 system,Cur exists in an amorphous form at a Cur loading level of 50%and below,while Cur crystallines phase out and continuously grow with the increase of Cur loading from 60%to 90%.The phase behaviors in the Cur-P407 and Cur-PEG 6000 systems are similar but with minor *** both systems,Cur phases out as clusters of drug-enriched domains at a loading level of 20%and below,which however cannot be correlated with crystallization,as evidenced by both DSC and *** is a transition from an amorphous to a crystalline state from 20%to 30%Cur loading,above which Cur crystallines can be *** is interesting that a co-mix phase of both Cur-and PEG 6000-enriched domains can be identified at Cur loading levels of 10%and *** together,it is concluded that contrasting Cur autofluorescence with the signals of P4 proves to be a functional strategy to reveal multiple phases in the binary SD systems investigated.

The contradiction between increasing traffic and the relatively poor roundabout infrastructure is getting *** control and optimization of the macroscopic traffic flow needs to be improved to resolve congestion and safety problems at roundabouts and the connected road *** order to better understand the gaps and trends in this field,we have systematically reviewed the main research and developments in traffic phenomena,driving behaviour,autonomous vehicles(AVs),intelligent connected vehicles and real vehicle trajectory data sets at *** study is based on 388 papers about roundabouts,selected through a comprehensive literature *** review demonstrates that based on a microscopic perspective,sensing,prediction,decision-making,planning and control aspects of AVs and intelligent connected vehicles can be designed and optimized to fundamentally and significantly improve traffic capacity and driving safety at ***,the generation mechanism of traffic conflicts among traffic participants at roundabouts is complex,which is a tremendous challenge for the systematic design of ***,based on naturalistic driving data and machine learning theory,it is an important research direction to build driver models by learning and imitating human driver decision-making and driving behaviours.

Thermally chargeable supercapacitors can collect low-grade heat generated by the human body and convert it into electricity as a power supply unit for wearable electronics. However, the low Seebeck coefficient and heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency hinder further application. In this paper, we designed a high-performance thermally chargeable supercapacitor device composed of ZnMn2O4@Ti3C2Tx MXene composites (ZMO@Ti3C2Tx MXene) electrode and UIO-66 metal-organic framework doped multichannel polyvinylidene fluoridehexafluoro-propylene ionogel electrolyte, which realized the thermoelectric conversion and electrical energy storage at the same time. This thermally chargeable supercapacitor device exhibited a high Seebeck coefficient of 55.4 mV K-1, thermal voltage of 243 mV, and outstanding heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency of up to 6.48% at the temperature difference of 4.4 K. In addition, this device showed excellent charge-discharge cycling stability at high-temperature differences (3 K) and low-temperature differences (1 K), respectively. Connecting two thermally chargeable supercapacitor units in series, the generated output voltage of 500 mV further confirmed the stability of devices. When a single device was worn on the arm, a thermal voltage of 208.3 mV was obtained indicating the possibility of application in wearable electronics.

We present a theoretical study of the medium modifications of the p_(T)balance (x_(J)) of dijets in Xe+Xe collisions at■.The initial production of dijets was carried out using the POWHEG+PYTHIA8 prescription,which matches the next-toleading-order (NLO) QCD matrix elements with the parton shower (PS) *** SHELL model described the in-medium evolution of nucleus–nucleus collisions using a transport *** theoretical results of the dijet xJin the Xe+Xe collisions exhibit more imbalanced distributions than those in the p+p collisions,consistent with recently reported ATLAS *** utilizing the Interleaved Flavor Neutralisation,an infrared-and-collinear-safe jet flavor algorithm,to identify the flavor of the reconstructed jets,we classify dijets processes into three categories:gluon–gluon (gg),quark–gluon (qg),and quark–quark (qq),and investigated the respective medium modification patterns and fraction changes of the gg,qg,and qq components of the dijet sample in Xe+Xe *** is shown that the increased fraction of qg component at a small x_(J)contributes to the imbalance of the dijet;in particular,the q_(1)g_(2)(quark-jet-leading) dijets experience more significant asymmetric energy loss than the g_(1)q_(2)(gluon-jet-leading) dijets traversing the *** comparing the■of inclusive,■ dijets in Xe+Xe collisions,we observe■.Moreover,ρ_(Xe),P_(b),the ratios of the nuclear modification factors of dijets in Xe+Xe to those in Pb+Pb,were calculated,which indicates that the yield suppression of dijets in Pb+Pb is more pronounced than that in Xe+Xe owing to the larger radius of the lead nucleus.
