Global environmental concern over organic contaminated sites has been progressively conspicuous during the process of urbanization and industrial restructuring.While traditional physical or chemical remediation technologies may significantly destroy the soil structure and function,coupling moderate chemical degradation with microbial remediation becomes a potential way for the green,economic,and efficient remediation of contaminated sites.Hence,this work systematically elucidates why and how to couple chemical technology with microbial remediation,mainly focused on the controllable redox reactions of organic contaminants.The rational design of materials structure,selective generation of reactive oxygen species,and estimation of degradation pathway are described for chemical oxidation.Meanwhile,current progress on efficient and selective reductions of organic contaminants(i.e.,dechlorination,defluorination,-NO_(2) reduction)is introduced.Combined with the microbial remediation of contaminated sites,several consideration factors of how to couple chemical and microbial remediation are proposed based on both fundamental and practical points of view.This review will advance the understanding and development of chemical-microbial coupled remediation for organic contaminated sites.

In this study,a class of rare earth composite sandwich phthalocyanines(MPcs,M=La,Y,Yb,Sc) were prepared and compounded with graphene and carbon nanotubes to obtain MPc/Gr and MPc/CNTs composites.The electrocatalytic behaviors of MPc/Gr and MPc/CNTs electrodes were further investigated.The results show that the central rare earth metal has a large influence on the electrocatalytic performance.For the MPcs/Gr samples,ScPc with the smallest ionic radius and molecular size can be more uniformly dispersed in graphene,and the hydrogen precipitation overpotential of ScPc/Gr electrode is514 mV,corresponding to a Tafel slope of 148 mV/dec,with better electrocatalytic performance than other rare earth metal phthalocyanines.As for the MPc/CNTs composites,LaPc,which has the largest ionic radius and molecular size,is more uniformly dispersed on the surface of CNTs,so that the LaPc/CNT electrode exhibits the best LSV performance with the smallest corresponding Tafel slope(176 mV/dec).The main reason is the different binding modes of MPcs molecules in Gr and CNTs.When rare earth phthalocyanine is combined with layered graphene,the smallest size of rare earth phthalocyanine(ScPc)is more easily embedded in the graphene layer,resulting in better homogeneity of the composite,larger effective contact area and better electrocatalytic performance.In contrast,when rare earth phthalocyanine is bound to carbon nanotubes in a tubular structure,it is mainly bound by attaching to the surface or being entangled by the carbon nanotubes.In this case,the rare-earth phthalocyanine molecules(LaPc)with larger layer spacing can provide more contact area with CNTs,forming a more uniform and effective composite,which eventually provides more active sites and better electrocatalytic performance.

Due to its unique electronic structure and special size effect,two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials have shown great potential far beyond bulk materials in the field of photocatalysis.How to deeply explore the photocatalytic mechanism of 2D nanomaterials and design more efficient 2D semiconductor photocatalysts are research hotspots.This review provides a comprehensive introduction to typical 2D nanomaterials and discusses their current application status in the field of photocatalysis.The effects of material properties such as band structure,morphology,crystal face structure,crystal structure and surface defects on the photocatalytic process are discussed.The main modification methods are highlighted,including doping,noble metal deposition,heterojunction,thickness adjustment,defect engineering,and dye sensitization in 2D material systems.Finally,the future development of 2D nanomaterials is prospected.It is hoped that this paper can provide systematic and useful information for researchers engaged in the field of photocatalysis.

Uncertainties of landslide susceptibility prediction: Influences of random errors in landslide conditioning factors and errors reduction by low pass filter method

In the existing landslide susceptibility prediction(LSP)models,the influences of random errors in landslide conditioning factors on LSP are not considered,instead the original conditioning factors are directly taken as the model inputs,which brings uncertainties to LSP results.This study aims to reveal the influence rules of the different proportional random errors in conditioning factors on the LSP un-certainties,and further explore a method which can effectively reduce the random errors in conditioning factors.The original conditioning factors are firstly used to construct original factors-based LSP models,and then different random errors of 5%,10%,15% and 20%are added to these original factors for con-structing relevant errors-based LSP models.Secondly,low-pass filter-based LSP models are constructed by eliminating the random errors using low-pass filter method.Thirdly,the Ruijin County of China with 370 landslides and 16 conditioning factors are used as study case.Three typical machine learning models,i.***.multilayer perceptron(MLP),support vector machine(SVM)and random forest(RF),are selected as LSP models.Finally,the LSP uncertainties are discussed and results show that:(1)The low-pass filter can effectively reduce the random errors in conditioning factors to decrease the LSP uncertainties.(2)With the proportions of random errors increasing from 5%to 20%,the LSP uncertainty increases continuously.(3)The original factors-based models are feasible for LSP in the absence of more accurate conditioning factors.(4)The influence degrees of two uncertainty issues,machine learning models and different proportions of random errors,on the LSP modeling are large and basically the same.(5)The Shapley values effectively explain the internal mechanism of machine learning model predicting landslide sus-ceptibility.In conclusion,greater proportion of random errors in conditioning factors results in higher LSP uncertainty,and low-pass filter can effectively reduce these random errors.

AIM:To explore the correlation of gut microbiota and the metabolites with the progression of diabetic retinopathy(DR)and provide a novel strategy to elucidate the pathological mechanism of DR.METHODS:The fecal samples from 32 type 2 diabetes patients with proliferative retinopathy(PDR),23 with nonproliferative retinopathy(NPDR),27 without retinopathy(DM),and 29 from the sex-,age-and BMI-matched healthy controls(29 HC)were analyzed by 16S rDNA gene sequencing.Sixty fecal samples from PDR,DM,and HC groups were assayed by untargeted metabolomics.Fecal metabolites were measured using liquid chromatographymass spectrometry(LC-MS)analysis.Associations between gut microbiota and fecal metabolites were analyzed.RESULTS:A cluster of 2 microbiome and 12 metabolites accompanied with the severity of DR,and the close correlation of the disease progression with PDR-related microbiome and metabolites were found.To be specific,the structure of gut microbiota differed in four groups.Diversity and richness of gut microbiota were significantly lower in PDR and NPDR groups,than those in DM and HC groups.A cluster of microbiome enriched in PDR group,including Pseudomonas,Ruminococcaceae-UCG-002,Ruminococcaceae-UCG-005,Christensenellaceae-R-7,was observed.Functional analysis showed that the glucose and nicotinate degradations were significantly higher in PDR group than those in HC group.Arginine,serine,ornithine,and arachidonic acid were significantly enriched in PDR group,while proline was enriched in HC group.Functional analysis illustrated that arginine biosynthesis,lysine degradation,histidine catabolism,central carbon catabolism in cancer,D-arginine and D-ornithine catabolism were elevated in PDR group.Correlation analysis revealed that Ruminococcaceae-UCG-002 and Christensenellaceae-R-7 were positively associated with L-arginine,ornithine levels in fecal samples.CONCLUSION:This study elaborates the different microbiota structure in the gut from four groups.The relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae-UCG-002 and Parabacteroides are

With the advancements of artificial intelligence technology,ChatGPT,a new practice of artificial intelligence,holds immense potential across multiple fields.Its user-friendly human-machine interface,rapid response capabilities,and delivery of high-quality answers have attracted considerable attention and widespread usage.Regarded by many as a groundbreaking advancement in AI,ChatGPT represents a new milestone in the field.However,as with any technological evolution,the emergence of ChatGPT brings not only benefits,but also inevitable security risks and ethical issues.This paper provides specific information about ChatGPT,including its technology,limitations,ethical issues,governance paths and future directions.Specifically,we firstly offered a thorough exploration of the technical implementation details of GPT series models.Next,we provided an intricate analysis elucidating the reasons for limitations and scrutinized the consequential impacts,such as malicious misuse,privacy violation,and so on.Finally,we explore diverse governance paths to mitigate the impacts of ChatGPT and present future directions.This review aims to equip users with crucial knowledge,facilitating well-informed decision-making,effectively handling of potential challenges in employing ChatGPT,and staying abreast with the rapidly evolving landscape of this technology.

BACKGROUND Postoperative delirium,particularly prevalent in elderly patients after abdominal cancer surgery,presents significant challenges in clinical management.AIM To develop a synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE)-based model for predicting postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal cancer patients.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study,we analyzed data from 611 elderly patients who underwent abdominal malignant tumor surgery at our hospital between September 2020 and October 2022.The incidence of postoperative delirium was recorded for 7 d post-surgery.Patients were divided into delirium and non-delirium groups based on the occurrence of postoperative delirium or not.A multivariate logistic regression model was used to identify risk factors and develop a predictive model for postoperative delirium.The SMOTE technique was applied to enhance the model by oversampling the delirium cases.The model’s predictive accuracy was then validated.RESULTS In our study involving 611 elderly patients with abdominal malignant tumors,multivariate logistic regression analysis identified significant risk factors for postoperative delirium.These included the Charlson comorbidity index,American Society of Anesthesiologists classification,history of cerebrovascular disease,surgical duration,perioperative blood transfusion,and postoperative pain score.The incidence rate of postoperative delirium in our study was 22.91%.The original predictive model(P1)exhibited an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.862.In comparison,the SMOTE-based logistic early warning model(P2),which utilized the SMOTE oversampling algorithm,showed a slightly lower but comparable area under the curve of 0.856,suggesting no significant difference in performance between the two predictive approaches.CONCLUSION This study confirms that the SMOTE-enhanced predictive model for postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal tumor patients shows performance equivalent to that of traditional methods,effectively addressing data imbal

Background:The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition(GLIM)criteria were published to build a global consensus on nutritional diagnosis.Reduced muscle mass is a phenotypic criterion with strong evidence to support its inclusion in the GLIM consensus criteria.However,there is no consensus regarding how to accurately measure and define reduced muscle mass in clinical settings.This study aimed to investigate the optimal reference values of skeletal muscle mass index for diagnosing sarcopenia and GLIM-defined malnutrition,as well as the prevalence of GLIM-defined malnutrition in hospitalized cirrhotic patients.Methods:This retrospective study was conducted on 1002 adult patients with liver cirrhosis between January 1,2018,and February 28,2022,at Beijing You-An Hospital,Capital Medical University.Adult patients with a clinical diagnosis of liver cirrhosis and who underwent an abdominal computed tomography(CT)examination during hospitalization were included in the study.These patients were randomly divided into a modeling group(cohort 1,667 patients)and a validation group(cohort 2,335 patients).In cohort 1,optimal cut-off values of skeletal muscle index at the third lumbar skeletal muscle index(L3-SMI)were determined using receiver operating characteristic analyses against in-hospital mortality in different gender groups.Next,patients in cohort 2 were screened for nutritional risk using the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002(NRS-2002),and malnutrition was diagnosed by GLIM criteria.Additionally,the reference values of reduced muscle mass in GLIM criteria were derived from the L3-SMI values from cohort 1.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the association between GLIM-defined malnutrition and clinical outcomes.Results:The optimal cut-off values of L3-SMI were 39.50 cm 2/m 2 for male patients and 33.06 cm 2/m 2 for female patients.Based on the cut-off values,31.63%(68/215)of the male patients and 23.3%(28/120)of the female patients had CT-determined sarcopenia in cohort 2.The prevalence of GL

The robust finite-time synchronization control problem is investigated for master-slave networked nonlinear telerobotics systems(NNTSs) in this article. Although there have been some research achievements on finite-time control for the NNTSs, these studies are based on the strong assumptions of communication time delays or can only achieve finite-time bounded convergence even when the external forces are zero.Accordingly and in view of the importance of these issues, a novel robust composite learning adaptive control scheme rendering the finite-time master-slave synchronization is proposed in this paper. In particular, the influence of time delays on finite-time convergence of the system is analyzed by employing the multi-dimension finite-time small-gain framework. Meanwhile, in order to achieve accurate and fast estimation of uncertain parameters of the system, both the online historical and the instantaneous data of the estimation data are explored to derive the new parameter adaptive law under a more realizable interval-excitation(IE) condition.Therefore, the convergence of the position/force synchronization errors and the adaptive parameter estimation errors is obtained in finite time, and enhanced robustness of the closed-loop system will also be ensured.Finally, the superior performance of the proposed control algorithms is validated by numerical simulations and hardware experiments.
