Early removing gastrointestinal decompression and early oral feeding improve patients' rehabilitation after colorectostomy

AIM： To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and tolerance of early removing gastrointestinal decompression and early oral feeding in the patients undergoing surgery for colorectal carcinoma. METHODS： Three hundred and sixteen patients submitted to operations associated with colorectostorny from January 2004 to September 2005 were randomized to two groups： In experimental group （n = 161）, the nasogastric tube was removed after the operation from 12 to 24 hours and was promised immediately oral feeding; In control group （n = 155）, the nasogastric tube was maintained until the passage of flatus per rectum. Variables assessed included the time to first passage of flatus, the time to first passage of stool, the time elapsed postoperative stay, and postoperative complications such as anastornotic leakage, acute dilation of stomach, wound infection and dehiscense, fever, pulmonary infection and pharyngolaryngitis. RESULTS： The median and average days to the first passage of flatus （3.0±0.9 vs 3.6±1.2, P〈0.001）, the first passage of stool （4.1± 1.1 vs 4.8±1.4 P〈0.001） and the length of postoperative stay （8.4±3.4 vs 9.6±5.0, P〈0.05） were shorter in the experimental group than in the control group. The postoperative complications such as anastomotic leakage （1.24% vs 2.58%）, acute dilation of stomach （1.86% vs 0.06%） and wound complications （2.48% vs 1.94%） were similar in the groups, but fever （3.73% vs 9.68%, P〈0.05）, pulmonary infection （0.62% vs 4.52%, P〈0.05） and pharyngolaryngitis （3.11% vs 23.23%, P〈0.001） were much more in the control group than in the experimental group. CONCLUSION： The present study shows that applicationof gastrointestinal decompression after colorectostomy can not effectively reduce postoperative complications. On the contrary, it may increase the incidence rate of fever, pharyngolaryngitis and pulmonary infection. Headspace solid-phase microextraction（HS-SPME） with sol-gel calix[6]arene-containing fiber followed by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector was used to examine the composition and distribution of seven polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons（PAHs） in water. The novel SPME fiber exhibited higher extraction efficiency to PAHs compared with poly（dimethylsiloxane） and other calixarene-containing fibers. Extraction/retention mechanism based on the interactions between calixarenes and PAHs was discussed. Owing to the good selectivity and high extraction capability of this calixarene fiber, low detection limits were obtained in a range of 0.34―6.50 ng/L and the relative standard deviation values were ≤12.3% for all of the analytes. The linear ranges of the proposed method were five orders of magnitude for the tested compounds, with linear correlation coefficients（r） greater than 0.998. The method was applied to the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in nine water sources in Wuhan City, China. Standard addition method was selected for the quantification and the recovery values were in a satisfactory range. Total PAHs concentrations in the nine surface water samples were found to vary between undetectable and 8.840 μg/L with two- and three-ring PAHs predominating.

The length of the trajectory is proposed as a function for the employment of the sensitivity analysis method in power system transient stability analysis. Its sensitivity to the faultclearing time is about 10 times higher than that of the energy function or the distance function. The integrating time is reduced to less than 3 s while the accuracy is maintained. It can also be used to provide parameter limits. Simulations on the WSCC 4 machine system and the New England system verify the effectiveness of sensitivity of trajectory length in transient stability analysis.

利用优势除油菌,通过挂膜的方式吸附在聚氨酯海绵填料中,直接处理切削液废液。通过水质检测仪、金相光学显微、宏基因分析等手段,研究微生物挂膜过程、含油废水降解情况,并分析了挂膜完成后好氧反应器中微生物物种分布特征。结果表明,在19 d优势菌可挂膜成功,挂膜完成后COD、NH3-N、TP降解率均可达60%左右;好氧反应设备中优势物种为固氮螺菌属、动胶菌属等。微生物群落与环境存在复杂的交互关系,主要包括代谢物交换、代谢物产生、信号传导等。

IMM/MHT FUSING FEATURE INFORMATION IN VISUAL TRACKING

In multi-target tracking,Multiple Hypothesis Tracking (MHT) can effectively solve the data association problem. However,traditional MHT can not make full use of motion information. In this work,we combine MHT with Interactive Multiple Model (IMM) estimator and feature fusion. New algorithm greatly improves the tracking performance due to the fact that IMM estimator provides better estimation and feature information enhances the accuracy of data association. The new algorithm is tested by tracking tropical fish in fish container. Experimental result shows that this algorithm can significantly reduce tracking lost rate and restrain the noises with higher computational effectiveness when compares with traditional MHT.

A double-parameter oxygen lance used in a 300 t converter was designed to improve the metallurgical performance. A small-scale measurement of the jet behavior was done using a computer controlled scanning system. The experimental data on the velocity distribution at the jet centerline, the contour map of the jet velocity, the deviation of the jet centerline, and the velocity distribution of the axial section were compiled. According to the results of the small-scale measurement, the double-parameter lance was also employed for a BOF experiment. The metallurgy inde- xes show that the metallurgical performance was highly promoted by use of the double-parameter lance.

Seepage characteristics of a fractured silty mudstone under different confining pressures and temperatures

To investigate the influence of confining pressures and temperatures on the seepage characteristics of fractured rocks, seepage tests were conducted on a fractured silty mudstone using a self-developed experimental system, and the effects of different factors on coefficient of permeability were discussed. The results showed that the increasing confining pressure will gradually decrease the coefficient of permeability, and this process is divided into two stages: 1) the fast decrease stage, which corresponds to a confining pressure less than 30 kPa, and 2) the slow decrease stage, which corresponds to a confining pressure larger than 30 kPa. Unlike confining pressure, an increase in temperature will increase the coefficient of permeability. It is noted that fracture surface roughness will also affect the variation of coefficient of permeability to a certain extent. Among the three examined factors, the effect of confining pressure increases is dominant on fracture permeability coefficient. The relationship between the confining pressure and coefficient of permeability can be quantified by an exponential function.
