Water molecules and oxygen-vacancy modulation of vanadium pentoxide with fast kinetics toward ultrahigh power density and durable flexible all-solid-state zinc ion battery

Aqueous zinc ion battery(ZIB)with many virtues such as high safety,cost-effective,and good environmental compatibility is a large-scale energy storage technology with great application potential.Nevertheless,its application is severely hindered by the slow diffusion of zinc ions in desirable cathode materials.Herein,a technique of water-incorporation coupled with oxygen-vacancy modulation is exploited to improve the zinc ions diffusion kinetics in vanadium pentoxide(V_(2)O_5)cathode for ZIB.The incorporated water molecules replace lattice oxygen in V_(2)O_5,and function as pillars to expand interlayer distance.So the structural stability can be enhanced,and the zinc ions diffusion kinetics might also be promoted during the repeated intercalation/deintercalation.Meanwhile,the lattice water molecules can effectively enhance conductivity due to the electronic density modulation effect.Consequently,the modulated V_(2)O_5(H-V_(2)O_5)cathode behaves with superior rate capacity and stable durability,achieving 234 mA h g^(-1)over 9000 cycles even at 20 A g^(-1).Furthermore,a flexible all-solid-state(ASS)ZIB has been constructed,exhibiting an admirable energy density of 196.6 Wh kg^(-1)and impressive power density of 20.4 kW kg^(-1)as well as excellent long-term lifespan.Importantly,the assembled flexible ASS ZIB would be able to work in a large temperature span(from-20 to 70℃).Additionally,we also uncover the energy storage mechanism of the H-V_(2)O_5 electrode,offering a novel approach for creating high-kinetics cathodes for multivalent ion storage.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting the programmed cell death-1(PD-1)protein significantly improve survival in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC),but its impact on early-stage ground-glass opacity(GGO)lesions remains unclear.This is a single-arm,phase II trial(NCT04026841)using Simon’s optimal two-stage design,of which 4 doses of sintilimab(200 mg per 3 weeks)were administrated in 36 enrolled multiple primary lung cancer(MPLC)patients with persistent high-risk(Lung-RADS category 4 or had progressed within 6 months)GGOs.The primary endpoint was objective response rate(ORR).T/B/NK-cell subpopulations,TCR-seq,cytokines,exosomal RNA,and multiplexed immunohistochemistry(mIHC)were monitored and compared between responders and non-responders.Finally,two intent-to-treat(ITT)lesions(pure-GGO or GGO-predominant)showed responses(ORR:5.6%,2/36),and no patients had progressive disease(PD).No grade 3-5 TRAEs occurred.The total response rate considering two ITT lesions and three non-intent-to-treat(NITT)lesions(pure-solid or solid-predominant)was 13.9%(5/36).The proportion of CD8^(+)T cells,the ratio of CD8^(+)/CD4^(+),and the TCR clonality value were significantly higher in the peripheral blood of responders before treatment and decreased over time.Correspondingly,the mIHC analysis showed more CD8^(+)T cells infiltrated in responders.Besides,responders’cytokine concentrations of EGF and CTLA-4 increased during treatment.The exosomal expression of fatty acid metabolism and oxidative phosphorylation gene signatures were down-regulated among responders.Collectively,PD-1 inhibitor showed certain activity on high-risk pulmonary GGO lesions without safety concerns.Such effects were associated with specific T-cell re-distribution,EGF/CTLA-4 cytokine compensation,and regulation of metabolism pathways.

将具有丰富微孔的ZIF-8金属有机框架和电化学技术对金属离子的富集作用与微流控器件对溶液流动的可控性相结合,构建了一种新型传感器,实现了高通量、实时和快速检测环境中的多种金属离子污染物.研制的ZIF-8-Nafion/ITO基微流控电化学传感器对Cd^(2+),Pb^(2+)及Hg^(2+)离子在0.1~100μmol/L的浓度范围内具有良好的线性关系,检出限分别为0.055,0.0025及0.0016μmol/L(S/N=3).该微流控芯片对于样品的需求量少,可降低对能源的消耗;同时由聚二甲基硅氧烷拓印的微流控器件还有望实现柔性电极的功能,对便携式电化学柔性器件在生物和环境样品的集成化和自动化检测具有重要意义.

Digital Image Watermarking Based on Mixed Error Correcting Code

In this paper, we present a novel technique based on a mixed Error Correcting Code(ECC)-the convolutional code and the repetition code to enhance the robustness of the embedded watermark. Before embedding, the binary watermark is scanned to one-dimension sequence and later inputted into the (3, 1, 2) convolutional encoder and (3, 1) repetition encoder frame by frame, which will improve the error correcting capability of decoder. The output code sequence is scanned to some matrixes as the new watermark messages. The watermarking is selected in low frequency band of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and therefore it can resist the destruction of image processing. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate that the robustness of a watermark with mixed ECC is much higher than the traditional one just with repetition coding while suffering JPEG lossy compression, salt and pepper noise and center cutting processing.

摩擦层的介电性能是影响摩擦纳米发电机(triboelectric nanogenerator,TENG)输出性能的关键因素之一.本文选择WO_(3)纳米颗粒作为TENG摩擦层的填充材料,改变La的掺杂比例来调节WO_(3)的介电常数,从而调控TENG摩擦层介电性能,并研究对TENG输出的影响.研究结果表明:掺入La^(3+)、WO_(3)颗粒的晶体结构和晶粒尺寸未见明显变化,但能够有效提高WO_(3)的相对介电常数,使其从5.61提高到10左右.掺杂比为1%的La:WO_(3)纳米颗粒填充后PDMS复合膜的相对介电常数从3.32提高到4.07,TENG的输出提高了约1倍.此外,本文探讨并建立了TENG转移电荷与复合膜介电常数的物理模型.

Risk factors for recurrence of colorectal conventional adenoma and serrated polyp

Background Removal of colorectal polyps during screening could reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer(CRC).However,there is a lack of data on risk factors associated with recurrence of polyps,including conventional adenomas and serrated polyps(SPs).This study aimed to determine risk factors for recurrence of colorectal polyps and their subtypes based on the characteristics of the patients and polyps.Methods A total of 1,165 patients diagnosed with conventional adenoma or SP in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between January 2013 and December 2019 were enrolled in this study,including 668 cases with conventional adenomas,385 with SPs,and 112 with coexistence of adenomas and SPs.Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify potential risk factors for polyp recurrence.A nomogram was established according to risk factors and the performance was evaluated using calibration plots.Results During a median follow-up of 24 months,recurrent polyps were observed in 531(45.6%)cases.Male,age≥50 years,body mass index(BMI)≥24 kg/m^(2),at least three polyps,smoking,alcohol consumption,family history of polyps,and family history of CRC were independent risk factors for polyp recurrence.The Harrell’s C-index of the nomogram developed with these parameters was 0.69 and the calibration plots showed good agreement between actual polyp recurrence and nomogram-predicted recurrence probability.In the subtype analyses,conventional adenomas had the same risk factors for recurrence as all polyps,while smoking,alcohol consumption,family history of polyps,and family history of CRC were not risk factors for SP recurrence.Conclusions We identified several risk factors for recurrence of colorectal polyps and found that some of them could increase the risk of adenoma recurrence but not SP recurrence,including smoking,alcohol consumption,and family history of polyps/CRC,which might help us to understand different etiology and biology between conventional adenomas and SPs.

Immobilized CeO_(2)@C-N Heterogenous Structures with Enhanced Dual Modal Photodynamic/Photothermal Bacterial Inactivation Under NIR Laser Irradiation

Non-antibiotic fungicides are urgently needed due to the potential threat of drug-resistant bacteria to human health.In this research,a novel antibacterial nanoplatform based on CeO_(2)@C-N has been developed to achieve rapid near-infrared(NIR)laser-induced sterilization.The prepared CeO_(2)@C-N hybrid material exhibited a nanowire-like structure,with dispersed CeO_(2)nanoparticles averaging 5 nm in size within the heterogeneous configuration.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and Raman spectra revealed that the heterogenous structures have a significant amount of oxygen vacancies and defects.Notably,CeO_(2)@C-N has a narrower band gap than CeO_(2),which allows for broader absorbance extending to the NIR region.With these unique physiochemical properties,CeO_(2)@C-N could inactivate E.coli and MRSA at a low concentration(20 mg/L)under 808 nm NIR laser(1 W/cm^(2))irradiation.The excellent bactericidal activity of CeO_(2)@C-N is attributed to the combination of photodynamic and photo thermal processes,based on its excellent photo-thermal conversion property,detection of reactive oxygen species(ROS)(^(1)O_(2)and·OH)under light irradiation,and scavenger quenching experiment results.This study offers a feasible and efficient way to fabricate a highly effective antibacterial candidate.

Multiply accumulate operations in memristor crossbar arrays for analog computing

Memristors are now becoming a prominent candidate to serve as the building blocks of non-von Neumann inmemory computing architectures.By mapping analog numerical matrices into memristor crossbar arrays,efficient multiply accumulate operations can be performed in a massively parallel fashion using the physics mechanisms of Ohm’s law and Kirchhoff’s law.In this brief review,we present the recent progress in two niche applications:neural network accelerators and numerical computing units,mainly focusing on the advances in hardware demonstrations.The former one is regarded as soft computing since it can tolerant some degree of the device and array imperfections.The acceleration of multiple layer perceptrons,convolutional neural networks,generative adversarial networks,and long short-term memory neural networks are described.The latter one is hard computing because the solving of numerical problems requires high-precision devices.Several breakthroughs in memristive equation solvers with improved computation accuracies are highlighted.Besides,other nonvolatile devices with the capability of analog computing are also briefly introduced.Finally,we conclude the review with discussions on the challenges and opportunities for future research toward realizing memristive analog computing machines.

A Tip-Inhibitor Interphase Embedded with Soluble Polysulfides for High-Voltage Li Metal Batteries

The high-voltage battery has now become a goal in order to meet the demands for high energy density.However,the severe side reactions between Li metal and carbonate-based electrolytes in this system result in unstable interphase,leading to non-uniform Li-ion flux and thus aggravating the dendrite growth of Li.The protect interphase,traditional solid electrolyte interface(SEI),is a loose solid layer consisted of many components,which generally does not possess the function of preventing the lithium budding.Herein,based on polysulfide solubility in ester,we proposed a strategy to eliminate the dendrite by constructing a unique SEI in which the dynamic polysulfides were in situ formed and encapsuled.For this purpose,a 2-fluorophenylsulfur pentafluoride(2-FSPF)was employed as an additive in carbonate-based electrolyte that can be decomposed electrochemically during battery operation to form such a polysulfide-rich interphase.These polysulfides with certain fluidity can adhere to dynamically the budding tip of Li metal,as a so-called tip-inhibitor,when the local current density of the tip rising,thus to hinder Li^(+)diffusion toward the tip,resulting in inhibiting the further growth of Li dendrites and leveling the Li deposition.At the current density of 1 mA cm^(-2),the average Coulombic efficiency of Li//Cu cells is as high as 98.39%during 600 cycles,and the stable cycling of Li//Li symmetric cell reaches 3500 h.Furthermore,due to the high anodic stability,the Li//high-voltage LiCoO_(2)(LCO)full cells and Li–O_(2)battery achieve excellent cycle performance with lean electrolyte.
