High toughness and CMAS resistance of REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)(RE=La,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,and Dy)composites with eutectic composition for thermal barrier coatings

Although rare earth zirconates(RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7))have garnered attention as viable candidates for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs),they suffer from low fracture toughness and accelerated calcium–magnesium–alumina–silicate(CMAS)melt corrosion at high service temperatures,which impedes their practical *** this work,we developed a series of REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)(RE=La,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,and Dy)composites with a eutectic composition that not only significantly enhanced the fracture toughness by more than 40%relative to that of RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)but also exhibited improved resistance to CMAS *** increase in toughness arises from multiple mechanisms,such as ferroelastic toughening,fine-grain strengthening,and residual stress toughening,all of which trigger more crack defects and energy ***,the CMAS penetration depth of the REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)composites is approximately 36%lower than that of RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7).Al–O constituents in composites can capture CaO,SiO_(2),and MgO in CMAS melts and increase their viscosity,resulting in enhanced CMAS corrosion *** thermophysical properties of the REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)composites were also investigated,and their coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity are comparable to those of 7–8 wt%Y_(2)O_(3)partially stabilized ZrO2(YSZ),indicating their potential as TBC materials.

Investigation of wake-induced vibration interference between two staggered wave-cone cylinders at subcritical Reynolds number

The wake induced vibration(WIV)of a one-and two-degree-of-freedom(1DOF,2DOF)downstream wave-cone cylinder(WCC)behind a stationary equal-size upstream wave-cone cylinder in the staggered arrangement is numerically investigated at subcritical Reynolds number of 3900 by using shear stressed transfer(SST)k-ωturbulence *** streamwise pitch ratios(P/Dm)vary from 4 to 6 with a fixed incident angleα=8°.Experimental measurements were also performed for the validation of the present numerical *** is found that the largest vibration amplitude in crossflow direction occurred at P/Dm=4,Ur=8 with small difference of streamwise vibration at P/Dm=4,*** from single wavy-cone cylinder(SWCC),the downstream flexible one of a pair staggered WCCs got larger vibration amplitude during phase switching stage instead of in-phase *** upstream wake will suppress the triple frequency of main frequency in the power spectra density(PSD)functions of Cl but stimulate the double one of *** intriguing vibration mechanism happened in all 2DOF cases where the trajectory of downstream WCC is a significant ellipse rather than a figure of *** transformation of phase switching and the variation of the main frequency of drag coefficient(Cd)can be explained by the vortex-shedding modes of downstream WCC.

The long chain branching(LCB)polyglycolide(PGA)was successfully prepared by the successive reactions of the terminal hydroxyl groups of PGA with triglycidyl isocyanurate(TGIC)and pyromellitic dianhydride(PMDA).The influence of LCB produced by functional group reaction on rheological and crystallization behavior was studied and discussed through linear rheology,uniaxial elongation and DSC(differential scanning calorimetry).The much higher viscosity and the more notable strain hardening behavior of modified PGA indicates the LCB with high degree of entanglements are *** melt strength of PGA is finally improved greatly and can make su re that the supercritical CO_(2)foaming can be carried out successfully.

Development of a novel staging classification for Siewert Ⅱ adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction after neoadjuvant chemotherapy

Effect of heat treatment on microstructural evolution,mechanical properties and tribological properties of H13 steel prepared using selective laser melting

Fast charge transfer kinetics in Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)/Sb_(2)S_(3)S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Natural fractures are critical for shale oil and gas enrichment and development. Due to the extremely high heterogeneity of shale, the factors controlling the formation of internal fractures, especially horizontal fractures, remain controversial. In this study, we integrate thin section analysis and microcomputed tomography(CT) data from several lacustrine shale samples from the third member(Es3) of the Shahejie Formation, Qikou Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, to assess the fractures in detail. The goal is to reveal the development characteristics, controlling factors, and geological significance for evaluating sweet spots in a shale oil play. The fractures in the Es3contain high-angle structural and horizontal bed-parallel fractures that are mostly shear and extensional. Various factors influence fracture development,including lithofacies, mineral composition, organic matter content, and the number of laminae. Structural fractures occur predominantly in siltstone, whereas bed-parallel fractures are abundant in laminated shale and layered mudstone. A higher quartz content results in higher shale brittleness, causing fractures, whereas the transformation between clay minerals contributes to the development of bedparallel fractures. Excess pore pressure due to hydrocarbon generation and expulsion during thermal advance can cause the formation of bed-parallel fractures. The density of the bed-parallel and structural fractures increases with the lamina density, and the bed-parallel fractures are more sensitive to the number of laminae. The fractures are critical storage spaces and flow conduits and are indicative of sweet spots. The laminated shale in the Es3with a high organic matter content contains natural fractures and is an organic-rich, liquid-rich, self-sourced shale play. Conversely, the siltstone, massive mudstone, and argillaceous carbonate lithofacies contain lower amounts of organic matter and do not have bed-parallel fractures. Difference in microstructural characteristics of stamp-charged coke and gravity-charged coke with approximate macroscopic performance

The microstructural characteristics including optical texture,porosity and pore structure and chemical structure of stamp-charged coke(SCC)and gravity-charged coke(GCC)with similar conventional macro-indicators were investigated,and the properties including micro-strength,reactivity of coke matrix and that after alkali enrichment were comparatively studied by various characterization *** anisotropic structure of SCC is composed of high content of fine mosaic texture,while the content of medium mosaic texture,coarse texture and fibrous texture is *** statistical average shows that the fine mosaic average of SCC(24.89%)is 3.78 times the GCC average(6.58%),and the coarse mosaic average(1.24%)is only about 1/3 of the GCC average(3.43%).The porosity of SCC is lower than that of GCC,but tamping process does not lead to the fact that the number of closed pores of SCC is significantly lower than that of *** the structure of SCC is compact,its pore number is large and the pore wall is *** of coke with diameter less than 150 nm seem unaffected by tamping *** aromatic structure of SCC was less ordered than that of GCC,which was speculated to be related to the addition of more low metamorphic coal in *** microscopic strength and structural strength of SCC are lower than those of *** reactivity of coke matrix is affected by the specific surface area,but it is not the determining factor of its *** improvement in dissolution reactivity of coke after potassium enrichment is independent of coke type.
