Multiple generation effects of high temperature on the development and fecundity of Bemisia tabaci （Gennadius）（Hemiptera Aleyrodidae） biotype B

Insects are ectotherms and their ability to resist temperature stress is limited. The immediate effects of sub-lethal heat stress on insects are well documented, but longer- term effects of such stresses are rarely reported. In this study, survival, development and reproduction of the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci （Gennadius）（Hemiptera： Aleyrodidae） biotype B, were compared over five consecutive generations at 27, 31 and 35℃ and for one generation at 37 ℃. Both temperature and generation significantly affected the fitness of the whitefly. These impacts were more dramatic with increasing generations and temperatures. Among the experimental temperatures, the most favorable for development and reproduction were 27 ℃ and 31 ℃. At 27 ℃, survival, development and fecundity were all stable over these five generations. At 31 ℃, immature survival rate was the highest in the fifth generation, but female fecundities decreased in the fourth and fifth generations. At 35 ℃, egg hatching rate, immature survival rate and female fecundity decreased significantly in the fourth and fifth generations. At 37 ℃, survival ofB. tabaci was not adversely affected, but female fecundity at 37 ℃ was less than 10% of that at 27 ℃ or 31 ℃. These results demonstrate that the lethal high temperature for B. tabaci is over 37 ℃, and the whitefly population continued expanding in the five generations at 35 ℃. The ability orB. tabaci biotype B to survive high temperature stress will play an important role in its population extension under global warming.

The Sepsis Coagulopathy Asahi Recombinant LE Thrombomodulin(SCARLET)trial has many defects,and thus cannot be the terminator of recombinant thrombomodulin(rTM).On the contrary,it provides sufficient evidence for further *** on analysis focusing on the failure of SCARLET and several previous anticoagulant studies,it is most important for new studies to grasp the following two points:(1)The enrolled cases should have sufficient disease severity and a clear standard for disseminated intravascular coagulation;(2)Heparin should not be used in combination with the investigated *** post-hoc analyses show that no combination of heparin will not increase the risk of *** fact,the combination of heparin can mask the true efficacy of the investigated *** to the complexity of sepsis treatment and the limitations of clinical studies,the results of all treatment studies should be repeatedly verified,rather than be determined at one *** research conclusions contrary to disease physiology,pharmacology and clinical practice may be deceptive,and should be cautious rather than be simply *** the other hand,the dissenting voices in the"consensus"scene are often well discussed by the authors and should be highly valued.

In current neural network algorithms for nuclide identification in high-background,poor-resolution detectors,traditional network paradigms including back-propagation networks,convolutional neural networks,recurrent neural networks,etc.,have been limited in research on γ spectrum analysis because of their inherent mathematical *** is difficult to make progress in terms of training data requirements and prediction *** contrast to traditional network paradigms,network models based on the transformer structure have the characteristics of parallel computing,position encoding,and deep stacking,which have enabled good performance in natural language processing tasks in recent ***,in this paper,a transformer-based neural network (TBNN) model is proposed to achieve nuclide identification for the first ***,the Geant4 program was used to generate the basic single-nuclide energy spectrum through Monte Carlo simulations.A multi-nuclide energy spectrum database was established for neural network training using random matrices of γ-ray energy,activity,and *** on the encoder–decoder structure,a network topology based on the transformer was built,transforming the 1024-channel energy spectrum data into a 32×32 energy spectrum sequence as the model *** experiments and adjustments of model parameters,including the learning rate of the TBNN model,number of attention heads,and number of network stacking layers,the overall recognition rate reached 98.7%.Additionally,this database was used for training AI models such as back-propagation networks,convolutional neural networks,residual networks,and long shortterm memory neural networks,with overall recognition rates of 92.8%,95.3%,96.3%,and 96.6%,*** indicates that the TBNN model exhibited better nuclide identification among these AI models,providing an important reference and theoretical basis for the practical application of transformers in the qualitative and quantitativ

A 19-year-old male patient who suffered from sudden and repeated multiple organ dysfunction syndrome one month after the bar removal procedure of Nuss surgery for pectus excavatum was admitted to our *** organ function supportive treatment,the etiology was finally identified to be a bone spur located at the inner border of the left costa due to repeated friction between the implanted steel bar and the rib,which damaged the heart repeatedly and induced the consequent acute cardiac *** operation,the patient was successfully managed and ***-ups till three years indicated a good recovery.

Efficient derivation of functional hepatocytes from mouse induced pluripotent stem cells by a combination of cytokines and sodium butyrate

Background Hepatocyte transplantation has been proposed as an alternative to whole-organ transplantation to support many forms of hepatic insufficiency. Unfortunately, the lack of donor livers makes it difficult to obtain enough viable human hepatocytes for hepatocyte-based therapies. Therefore, it is urgent to find new ways to provide ample hepatocytes. Induced pluripotent stem （iPS） cells, a breakthrough in stem cell research, may terminate these hinders for cell transplantation. For the promise of iPS cells to be realized in liver diseases, it is necessary to determine if and how efficient they can be differentiated into functional hepatocytes. Methods In this study, we directly compared the hepatic-differentiation capacity of mouse iPS cells and embryonic stem （ES） cells with three different induction approaches： conditions via embryonic body （EB） formation plus cytokines, conditions by combination of dimethyl sulfoxide and sodium butyrate and chemically defined, serum free monolayer conditions. Among these three induction conditions, more homogenous populations can be promoted under chemically defined, serum free conditions. The cells generated under these conditions exhibited hepatic functions in vitro, including glycogen storage, indocynine green （ICG） uptake and release as well as urea secretion. Although efficient hepatocytes differentiation from mouse iPS cells were observed, mouse iPS cells showed relatively lower hepatic induction efficiency compared with mouse ES cells. Results Mouse iPS cells would be efficiently differentiated into functional hepatocytes in vitro, which may be helpful in facilitating the development of hepatocytes for transplantation and for research on drug discovery. Conclusion We demonstrate that mouse iPS cells retain full potential for fetal liver development and describe procedures that facilitates the efficient generation of highly differentiated human hepatocyte-like cells from iPS cells in vitro.

Combustion aerosols and suspended dust with controlled processes in Lhasa:Elemental analysis and size distribution characteristics

To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution *** investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in *** Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of *** highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass *** elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass *** proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic *** EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle *** EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.

The promoter analysis of the human C1 7orf25 gene, a novel chromosome 17pl3.3 gene

The human C17orf25 gene (Accession No. AF177342) is one of thirteen genes cloned from a region displaying a high score of loss of heterozygosity within chromosome 17pl3.3 in human hepatocellular carcinoma in China[l]. To unveil the underlying mechanisms for the transcription regulation of this gene and understand its implication to the hepatocellular carcinogenesis, we looked into the relevant aspects by both bioinformatic and experimental executions. We found: 1, The abundant expression of the C17orf25 gene was evident in all the cell lines and tissue samples tested, showing little hepatoma-selectivity; 2, Its transcription starts at a single site, locating at -60 from the translation initiation codon; 3, A 58 bp fragment containing the transcription start, extending from -112 to -55, represents the minimal promoter; 4, The consensus sequence within this fragment recognized by SP1 contributes predominantly to the activity of the minimal promoter; 5, The bioinformatic analysis suggests that the C17orf25

Understanding amorphous PrO_(x)-based N-doped carbon catalyst as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction

The development of an e fficacious and easily prepared no nprecious metal electrocatalyst is crucial for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).This work used a dual template method to prepare the amorphous rare earth-based catalyst PrO_(x)-NC,and optimized the calcination temperature and *** PrO_(x)-NC-900 catalyst has high durability and activity and exhibits superior ORR performance in alkaline electrolytes with an onset potential(E_(0))of 0.96 V and a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.85 *** research results indicate that the ORR performance of rare earth oxide composite carbon catalysts can be improved by adjusting oxygen vacancies(Ov).In addition,high specific surface area,N rich defect *** oxygen vacancies,and the synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and N-doped carbon interfacial layer play a significant part in the enhancement of *** performance of the zinc air battery assembled with PrO_(x)-NC-900 is significantly improved,and rare earth oxides and carbon frameworks originating from metal organic frameworks(MOFs)contribute to the oxygen electrocatalyst and electron transfer rate of the zinc air *** catalyst provides promising information for the development of rare earth metal oxide nanostructures as potential candidate materials for ORR in alkaline media.

Meteorological effects on sources and future projection of nitrogen deposition to lakes in China

Lake ecosystems are extremely sensitive to nitrogen growth,which leads to water quality degradation and ecosystem health *** depositions,as one of the main sources of nitrogen in water,are expected to change under future climate change ***,it remains not clear how nitrogen deposition to lakes respond to future meteorological *** this study,a source-oriented version of Community Multiscale Air Quality(CMAQ)Model was used to estimate nitrogen deposition to 263 lakes in 2013 and under three RCP scenarios(4.5,6.0 and 8.5)in *** total deposition of 58.2 Gg nitrogen was predicted for all lakes,with 23.3 Gg N by wet deposition and 34.9 Gg N by dry *** and ammonium in aerosol phase are the major forms of wet deposition,while NH3 and HNO_(3)in gas phase are the major forms of dry *** emissions contribute to 57%of wet deposition and 44%of dry *** future meteorological conditions,wet deposition is predicted to increase by 5.5%to 16.4%,while dry deposition would decrease by 0.3%to 13.0%.Changes in wind speed,temperature,relative humidity(RH),and precipitation rates are correlated with dry and wet deposition *** predicted changes in deposition to lakes driven by meteorological changes can lead to significant changes in aquatic chemistry and ecosystem *** from future emission scenarios,different climate scenarios should be considered in future ecosystem health evaluation in response to nitrogen deposition.
