Metal complexes of bipyridine-functionalized covalent organic frameworks as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction

Electrocatalytic water splitting is considered a clean and practic al method for producing *** this study,COF-Bpy,a bipyridine-functionalized covalent organic framework(COF),was prepared via post-synthetic modification,after which electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reactions(OER)were formed through coordination to single-or double-transition metals(Fe,Co,Ni,FeCo,FeNi or CoNi).COF-Bpy@FeNi delivered the best OER performance among the studied electrocatalysts,with an overpotential of 399 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)in an alkaline electrolyte(1.0 mol·L^(-1)KOH aqueous).Notably,the electrocatalytic performance of COF-Bpy@FeNi showed slight degradation during durability testing,which is ascribable to its irreversible benzoquinoline structure and strong metal *** expected,COF-Bpy@FeNi exhibited a low overpotential of 347 mV at a turnover frequency(TOF)of 0.1 s^(-1),which suggests that COF-Bpy@FeNi possesses excellent intrinsic electroc atalytic OER ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the Ni site plays a major role,while the Fe site adjusts the electronic structure of the Ni ions,which rationalizes the excellent OER properties of COF-Bpy@*** study not only provides a simple and efficient method for complexing COFs with transition metals,but also offers a novel strategy for designing porous organic polymer electrocatalysts.

Treponema is a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium,among which the pathogenic Treponema can cause various diseases,such as venereal syphilis(Treponema pallidum),yaws(Treponema carateum),and oral diseases(Treponema denticola and Treponema medium).Although different from conventional lipopolysaccharides,the extracellular glycoconjugate of Treponema may still be a potential antigen and provide a candidate for vaccine ***,we completed the first chemical synthesis of Treponema medium ATCC 700293 tetrasaccharide precursor containing L-ornithine(L-Orn)and D-aspartic acid(D-Asp)*** efficiency of non-reducing end disaccharide formation has been improved by optimizing the assembly of the protecting groups in the donors and ***[3+1]glycosylation strategy attempted to reduce the length of the acceptor to increase the nucleophilicity of the hydroxyl group,thereby improving the efficiency of synthesizing the target *** L-Orn derivative was introduced at the final stage due to its influence on the glycosylation stereospecificity and ***,the successful introduction of two amino acid derivatives and the synthesis of a tetrasaccharide precursor with complex functional-group modifications have provided valuable insights for synthesizing other complex bacterial glycans.

Bacterial small laccases(SLAC) are promising industrial biocatalysts due to their ability to oxidize a broad range of substrates with exceptional thermostability and tolerance for alkaline p H. Electron transfer between substrate, copper centers, and O2is one of the key steps in the catalytic turnover of SLAC. However, limited research has been conducted on the electron transfer pathway of SLAC and SLAC-catalyzed reactions, hindering further engineering of SLAC to produce tunable biocatalysts for novel applications. Herein, the combinational use of electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) and ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis) spectroscopic methods coupled with redox titration were employed to monitor the electron transfer processes and obtain further insights into the electron transfer pathway in SLAC. The reduction potentials for type 1 copper(T1Cu), type 2 copper(T2Cu) and type 3copper(T3Cu) were determined to be 367 ± 2 mV, 378 ± 5 m V and 403 ± 2 mV,respectively. Moreover, the reduction potential of a selected substrate of SLAC, hydroquinone(HQ), was determined to be 288 mV using cyclic voltammetry(CV). In this way, an electron transfer pathway was identified based on the reduction potentials. Specifically,electrons are transferred from HQ to T1Cu, then to T2Cu and T3Cu, and finally to ***, superhyperfine splitting observed via EPR during redox titration indicated a modification in the covalency of T2Cu upon electron uptake, suggesting a conformational alteration in the protein environment surrounding the copper sites, which could potentially influence the reduction potential of the copper sites during catalytic processes. The results presented here not only provide a comprehensive method for analyzing the electron transfer pathway in metalloenzymes through reduction potential measurements, but also offer valuable insights for further engineering and directed evolution studies of SLAC in the aim for biotechnological and industrial applications.

Mineralogical properties and co-sintering characteristics of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates

To investigate the feasibility of co-sintering of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates, the mineralogical properties of a novel fluxed iron ore were studied using particle size analysis, microscopic morphology characterization, and X-ray diffraction Rietveld analysis. Following that, the experiments for granulation performance and basic sintering characteristics were designed under seven different fluxed iron ore ratios, and the integrated ranking of different fluxed iron ore ratios was determined using gray relation analysis. Finally, the results of the industrial trails were combined with the feasibility analysis. Test and experimental results show that the fraction of the fluxed iron ore particles larger than 0.5 mm can account for more than 48%, and the particles have two morphologies: spherical-rough and flaky-smooth. Ca elements are found in the form of calcite (CaCO3) and dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2). The average particle size of granules and powder removal rate can be improved from 2.50 to 3.16 mm and 39.60% to 24.20%, respectively, with the increase in the fluxed iron ore ratio. Furthermore, the fluxed iron ore can improve assimilability and liquid fluidity of magnetite concentrates. In terms of overall granulation performance and sintering characteristics, the fluxed iron ore ratios are graded from best to worst as follows: 12%, 15%, 9%, 18%, 21%, 6% and 3%. The industrial trails show that when the fluxed iron ore ratio is increased, the beneficial effect of the superior sintering characteristics of the fluxed iron ore itself is ideally balanced with the negative effect of the lower amount of additional CaO at 12% ratio, and thus, it is feasible to bring the fluxed iron ore into production at a level of roughly 12%.

Metal-organic nanosheets(MONs)as a novel material with tunable pore structures and low mass transfer resistance,have emerged as molecular sieves for the separation of gases and *** theory,they can also serve as ion sieves for lithium metal batteries(LMBs),realizing the high-energy and dendritic free ***,there are rarely relevant reports,because it is difficult to simultaneously balance efficient ion sieving ability,high ion passing rate and high electrochemical ***,we synthesized a stable ultrathin MON[Zn_(2)(Bim)_(4)]([Zn_(2)(Bim)_(4)]Nanosheet,HBim=benzimidazolate),which can achieve both efficient lithium ion sieving ability,high lithium ion passing rate and high electrochemical stability at the same *** separator assembled by this MON exhibits high Li^(+)transfer number of 0.81 due to the accurate lithium ion and anion/solvent *** battery containing such separator shows high lithium ionic conductivity of 0.74 m S cm^(-1)and low activation energy of 0.099 eV,which can be attributed to the nanometer level thickness and the ion sieving *** is more,we realized the application of MONs-based ion sieves in LMBs with intercalation cathodes for the first *** the LiFePO_(4)|Li battery with as-assembled separator demonstrates improved Coulombic efficiency(>99%)and significantly extended cycling life(>1600 cycles)with 80%capacity retention.

Experimental Investigation on Heat Transfer and Combustion of a Stirling Engine Combustor Fueled by Reformed Gas and Diesel Fuel

MYB2 and MYB108 regulate lateral root development by interacting with LBD29 in Arabidopsis thaliana
