Hongjin Xiaojie Capsule, a Chinese patent medicine, for treating moderate to severe cyclical breast pain: A single-blind randomized controlled trial

Background: Moderate to severe breast pain has major effects on the quality of life for patients. Patent Chinese medicines are widely used in the treatment of breast pain due to their stable dosage form and good ***: To evaluate the beneficial effects and safety of Hongjin Xiaojie Capsule(HJXJC), a Chinese patent medicine, for the treatment of cyclical breast ***, setting, participants and intervention: This is a multicenter, single-blind randomized controlled trial conducted in 3 medical centers in China from 2019 to 2021. Patients with moderate to severe cyclic breast pain were randomly divided into the intervention group(who took HJXJC, four capsules per dose,three times a day for 12 weeks) and the control group(waiting for the treatment) in a 1:1 *** outcome measures: The primary outcome was pain duration, and the patients recorded measurements at baseline and at the end of weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16 on a patient log ***: The full analysis set(FAS) population included 298 participants(intervention group, n = 150;control group, n = 148), while the per-protocol analysis set(PPS) included 274 participants. After12 weeks, the duration of breast pain was significantly shorter in the intervention group(FAS: mean difference, –6.69; 95% CI, –7.58 to –5.80; P < 0.01, vs control. PPS: mean difference, –7.09; 95% CI, –8.01 to –6.16; P < 0.01, vs control). The Short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ) scores were significantly lower in the intervention group(FAS: mean difference, –12.55; 95% CI, –13.90 to –11.21; P < 0.01, vs control. PPS: mean difference, –13.07; 95% CI, –14.48 to –11.66; P < 0.01, vs control). The above indicators continued to be significantly different through week 16. Moreover, in the intervention group, breast lumps shrank after 12 weeks and the size of breast lumps was statistically smaller than that in the control group(P < 0.05), whereas the sizes of breast nodules and uterine fibroid showed no statistically sign

Copolymerization of(10-oxo-10-hydro-9-oxa-10λ~5-phospha-phenanthrene-10-yl)-methyl acrylate with styrene

A phosphorus-containing monomer （lO-oxo-10-hydro-9-oxa-10λ^5-phosphaphenanthrene-10-yl）-methyl acrylate （MD was copolymerized with styrene to give a potential flame retardant copolymer of high thermal stability. The structures of monomer and copolymer were characterized by FT-IR and ^1H NMR measurements. The reactivity ratios for free-radical of the monomer （M1） and styrene （Mz） were studied. The calculated results are as follows： r1 = 0.225, r2 = 0.503; Q1 = 0.413, e1 = 0.476; azeotropic point = 0.37. [1,2] In recent years electrical conduction of some metal com plexes has been studied. [3,4] The study of electrical conduction through DNA molecules has illustrated that DNA is a semiconductor, but its principle of electrical conduction has not been revealed. [5,6] Electrical conduction of artificial synthesized Fe-S cluster compounds has not been reported. A new fast heat treatment process for cast A356 alloy motorcycle wheel hubs

The normal T6 heat treatment process for cast A356 alloy generally requires about 15 h. This longperiod procedure increases greatly the manufacturing cost and decreases the productivity in practical production. In this study, a new short-time heat treatment process with only 30 min solution time at 540℃ was developed for the production of motorcycle wheel hubs in order to reduce heat treatment time. Comparisons on microstructure evaluation and mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and ductility, were made between this new fast process and the conventional T6 heat treatment. The results revealed that this new heat treatment process enabled the spheroidization of the eutectic silicon thoroughly, while minimizing the growth of eutectic silicon. The A356 alloy after this new short-time heat treatment shows nearly equal mechanical properties compared with the same alloy heat treated in a normal T6 heat treatment. This investigation makes it possible to significantly improve the efficiency of heat treatment on A356 alloy and, at the same time, improve the mechanical properties of the alloy.

Fascin promotes the motility and invasiveness of pancreatic cancer cells

AIM:To explore the role of actin-bundling protein, fascin during the progression of pancreatic cancer. METHODS:The plasmid expressing human fascin-1 was stably transfected into the pancreatic cancer cell line MIA PaCa-2. The proliferation, cell cycle, motility, scattering, invasiveness and organization of the actin filament system in fascin-transfected MIA PaCa-2 cells and control non-transfected cells were determined. RESULTS:Heterogeneous overexpression of fascin markedly enhanced the motility, scattering, and inva-siveness of MIA PaCa-2 cells. However, overexpression of fascin had minimal effect on MIA PaCa-2 cell pro-liferation and cell cycle. In addition, cell morphology and organization of the actin filament system were distinctly altered in fascin overexpressed cells. When transplanted into BALB/c-nu mice, fascin-transfected pancreatic cancer cells developed solid tumors at a slightly slower rate, but these tumors displayed more aggressive behavior in comparison with control tumors. CONCLUSION: Fascin promotes pancreatic cancer cell migration, invasion and scattering, thus contributes to the aggressive behavior of pancreatic cancer cells.

To reduce medication for patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),we need to establish the etiology of *** intestinal microbiota of patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)has been shown to differ from that of healthy controls and abundant data indicate that it changes in both composition and *** intestinal bacterial overgrowth is significantly higher in IBD patients compared with *** have been investigated for their capacity to reduce the severity of *** luminal surfaces of the gastrointestinal tract are covered by a mucus *** normally acts as a barrier that does not allow bacteria to reach the epithelial cells and thus limits the direct contact between the host and the *** mucus layer in the colon comprises an inner layer that is firmly adherent to the intestinal mucosa,and an outer layer that can be washed off with minimal *** bacteria can dissolve the protective inner mucus *** in renewal and formation of the inner mucus layer allow bacteria to reach the epithelium and have implications for the causes of *** this review,important elements of UC pathology are thought to be the intestinal bacteria,gut mucus,and the mucosa-associated immune system.

Releasing of Cupric Ion of Three types of Copper-bearing Intrauterine Contraceptive Device in Simulated UterineFluid

Objective To compare the cupric ion releasing in vitro o.f the three IUDs. Methods The stability o.f cupric ion releasing o.f IUDs including TCu 380.4 IUD （TCu 380A）, Multiload Cu375 IUD （MCu 375） and Yuangong 365 copper-bearing indomethacin-releasing IUD （Yuangong 365） by the determination of cupric ion releasing in simulated uterine fluid. The simulated uterine fluid was used for releasing media. Copper ion was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Results The cupric ion releasing of three IUDs were instable at the beginning and tend to be stable gradually. In the stable phase, the average level of cupric ion releasing of TCu380A, MCu375 and Yuangong 365 were 4.25±2.71-7.62±6.42 μg, 4.92±1.23 -8.62±3.08 μg and 2.19±0.40-4.68±1.66 μg, respectively. TCu380A had higher instable releasing level than those of Yuangong 365 （P〈0. 05）. Conclusion TCu 380.4 and MCu 375 showed a ＂burst release＂ during the first few days and *** was of great significance（P〈0.05）. The initial cupric ion releasing of Yuangong 365 appeared to be the lowest, followed by MCu375 and TCu380A in a releasing order
