BACKGROUND Microvascular invasion(MVI)is a critical prognostic factor for postoperative hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence,but the reliability of its current pathological diagnosis remains *** To evaluate the accuracy of current 7-point sampling methods and propose an optimal pathological protocol using whole-mount slide imaging(WSI)for better MVI *** We utilized 40 New Zealand white rabbits to establish VX2 liver tumor *** entire tumor-containing liver lobe was subsequently obtained,following which five different sampling protocols(A-E)were employed to evaluate the detection rate,accuracy,quantity,and distribution of MVI,with the aim of identifying the optimal sampling *** VX2 liver tumor models were successfully established in 37 rabbits,with an incidence of MVI of 81.1%(30/37).The detection rates[27%(10/37),43%(16/37),62%(23/37),68%(25/37),and 93%(14/15)]and quantity(15,36,107,125,and 395)of MVI increased significantly from protocols A to *** distribution of MVI showed fewer MVIs farther away from the tumor,but the percentage of MVI detected quantity gradually increased from 6.7%to 48.3%in the distant nonneoplastic liver tissue from protocols A to *** C was identified as the optimal sampling method by comparing them in *** sampling protocol of three consecutive interval WSIs at the tumor center(WSI3)was further screened to determine the optimal number of *** A(7-point sampling method)exhibited only 46%accuracy and a high false-negative rate of 67%.Notably,the WSI3 protocol improved the accuracy to 78%and decreased the false-negative rate to 27%.CONCLUSION The current 7-point sampling method has a high false-negative rate in MVI *** contrast,the WSI3 protocol provides a practical and effective approach to improve MVI diagnostic accuracy,which is crucial for hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis and treatment planning.

linear Correlations between Peak Frequency of Gyrosynchrotron Spectrum and Photosphere Magnetic Fields

The gyrosynchrotron spectra are computed in a nonuniform magnetic field case, taking into account the self- and gyroresonance absorption. It is found that the peak frequency νp of the gyrosynchrotron spectrum systematically increases with the increasing photosphere magnetic field strength B0 and increasing viewing angle θ. It is also found for the first time that there are good positive linear correlations between νp and B0, and between log νp and log θ, with linear correlation coefficient 0.99 between νp and B0 and 0.95 between log νp and log θ. We apply the correlations to analyze two burst events observed with OVSA and find that the evolution tendencies of the photosphere magnetic field strength B0 estimated from the above expression are comparable with the observational results of SOHO/MDI. We also give a comparison of the diagnostic results of coronal magnetic field strength in both uniform and nonuniform source models.

Glass-forming ability and corrosion performance of Mn-doped Mg-Zn-Ca amorphous alloys for biomedical applications

In the present work, ribbon and 2-mm rod samples of Mg-Zn-Ca-Mn alloys were prepared by meltspinning and copper mold injection methods, respectively. Effects of Mn doping on glass-forming ability and corrosion performance in simulated body fluid of Mg65Zn30Ca5 alloy were studied through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimeter, and electrochemical and immersion tests. Results show that with the Mn addition increasing, all the ribbon samples are completely in amorphous state. However, the microstructure of 2-mm rod samples transfers from fully amorphous for the Mn-free alloy to almost polycrystalline state with precipitated Mg, Mn, and MgZn phases. Glass-forming ability of Mg65Zn30Ca5 alloy is decreased by Mn addition. Results of electrochemical and immersion tests demon- strate that the Mn-doped samples exhibit more negative corrosion potential and larger corrosion current density, suggesting that the corrosion resistance decreases with doping amount of Mn element increasing.

The effect of hot isostatic pressing(HIP)treatment on the fatigue notch sensitivity of Ti-6A1-4V alloy fabricated by electron beam melting(EBM)was *** results indicate that the fatigue notch sensitivity of the as-fabricated samples is much lower than that of HIPed *** variation of α lamella thickness and the distribution of pore defects have an effect on the fatigue strength in smooth and notched EBM Ti-6A1-4V samples,resulting in the divergence of the as-fabricated and HIPed samples on fatigue notch sensitivity.

Formation Mechanism and Binding Energy for Equilateral Triangle Structure of He3+ Cluster

The formation mechanism for the equilateral triangle structure of the He3+ cluster is proposed. The curveof the total energy versus the internuclear distance R for this structure has been calculated by the method of a modifiedarrangement channel quantum mechanics. The result shows that the curve has a minimal -7.81373 a.u at 1 = 1.55 *** binding energy of He3+ with respect to He+He+ +He was calculated to be 0.1064 a.u. (about 2.89 eV). This meansthat the He3+ cluster may be formed in the equilateral triangle structure stably by the interaction of He+ with two heliumatoms.

The calculation of coronal magnetic field and density of nonthermal electrons in the 2003 October 27 microwave burst

Based on Dulk and Marsh＇s approximate theory about nonthermal gyrosyn- chrotron radiation, one simple impulsive microwave burst with a loop-like structure is selected for radio diagnostics of the coronal magnetic field and column density of non- thermal electrons, which are calculated from the brightness temperature, polarization degree, and spectral index, as well as the turnover frequency, observed by using the Nobeyama Radioheliograph and the Nobeyama Radio Polarimeters, respectively. Very strong variations （up to one or two orders of magnitude） of the calculated transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields with respect to the line-of-sight, as well as the cal- culated electron column density, appear in the looptop and footpoint sources during the burst. The absolute magnitude and varied range of the transverse magnetic field are evidently larger than those of the longitudinal magnetic field. The time evolution of the transverse magnetic field is always anti-correlated with that of the longitudi- nal magnetic field, but positively correlated with that of the electron column density. These results strongly support the idea that quantifying the energy released in a flare depends on a reconstruction of the coronal magnetic field, especially for the trans- verse magnetic field, and they are basically consistent with the recent theoretical and observational studies on the photospheric magnetic field in solar flares.

Formation Mechanism and Binding Energy for Equilateral Triangle Structure of li3 Cluster

The formation mechanism for the equilateral triangle structure of lia cluster is proposed. The curve of the total energy versus the interatomic distance for this structure has been calculated by using the method of Gou＇s Modified Arrangement Channel Quantum Mechanics. The result shows that the curve has a minimal energy of-22.338 60 a.u at R = 5.82 ao. The total energy of lia when R approaches co has the value of-22.284 09 a.u. This is also the total energy of three lithium atoms dissociated from lia. The difference value of 0.0545 08 a.u. for the above two energy values is the dissociation energy of li3 cluster, which is also its binding energy. Therefore the binding energy per lithium atom for lia is 0.018 169 a.u. = 0.494 eV, which is greater than the binding energy of 0.453 eV per atom for li2 calculated in a previous work. This means that the li3 cluster may be formed in the equilateral triangle structure of side length R = 5.82ao stably with a stronger binding from the symmetrical interaction among the three lithium atoms.

Study of temporal evolution of emission spectrum in a steeply rising submillimeter burst

The temporal evolution of a spectrum during a steeply rising submillimeter（THz） burst that occurred on 2003 November 2 was investigated in detail for the first *** show that the flux density of the THz spectrum increased steeply with frequency above 200 *** average rising rates reached a value of 235 sfu GHz^（-1）（corresponding to spectral index α of 4.8） during the *** flux densities reached about 4 000 and 70 000 sfu at 212 and 405 GHz at the maximum phase,*** emissions at 405 GHz maintained such a continuous high level that they largely exceeded the peak values of the microwave（MW） spectra during the main *** studies suggest that only energetic electrons with a low-energy cutoff of~ 1 MeV and number density of ~ 10~6-10~8 cm^（-3） can produce such a strong and steeply rising THz component via gyrosynchrotron radiation based on numerical simulations of burst spectra in the case of a nonuniform magnetic *** electron number density N,derived from our numerical fits to the THz temporal evolution spectra,increased substantially from 8 ×10~6 to 4 × 10~8 cm^（-3）,i.e.,the N value increased 50 times during the rise *** the decay phase it decreased to 7 ×10~7 cm^（-3）,i.e.,it decreased by about five times from the maximum *** total electron number decreased an order of magnitude from the maximum phase to the decay ***,the variation in amplitude of N is only about one time in the MW emission source during this burst,and the total electron number did not decrease but increased by about 20%during the decay ***,we find that the THz source radius decreased by about 24%while the MW source radius,on the contrary,increased by 28%during the decay phase.
