The term ＂oncocyte＂ was first used by Hamperl in 1950 to describe a kind of large, highly eosinophilic, granular tumour cell. Oncocytoma refers to the tumour that is composed of oncocytes. Oncocytoma can occur in various organs throughout the body, commonly salivary glands, thyroid or kidney and less commonly in lung, parathyroid gland, ovary or pituitary gland. Adrenocortical oncocytomas are rare： only 46 cases have been reported worldwide in the literature.2-6 Most of adrenal masses were resected by open operations.3-7 An oncocytoma of the adrenal gland was diagnosed and treated in our hospital recently. Retroperitoneal laparoscopy was performed to remove the mass. We report our recent case and review the literature.

Numerical simulations of the flow and heat transfer characteristics of four shell-and-tube molten salt electric heaters with different perforation rates was ***-and-tube electric heaters have the same geometry and tube arrangement,and all of them use single segmental baffles,but there exist four different baffle openings（φ）,i.e.,0%,2.52%,4.06%,and 6.31%.The results indicated that the reasonable baffle opening could significantly reduce the shell-side pressure drop,effectively decreasing the shell-side flow dead zone *** can eliminate the local high-temperature phenomenon on the surface of electric heating tubes,but the heat transfer coefficient is slightly *** perforated schemes significantly reduce shell-side pressure drop compared to the baseline solution without open *** particular,the φ=6.31% scheme exhibits the optimal performance among all the schemes,with a maximum reduction of up to 50.50% in shell-side pressure drop relative to the unopened holes *** heat transfer coefficient is the highest for φ=0%,exhibiting a range of5.26% to 5.73%,5.14% to 5.99%,and 7.31% to 8.54% higher than φ=2.52%,4.06%,and 6.31%,respectively,within the calculated *** composite index h/（Δp）1/3was higher for all open-hole solutions than that for the unopened-hole *** best overall performance was for φ=6.31%,which improved the composite index by15.29% to 17.18% over the unopened-hole solution.

AIM: To explore the impact of tumor size on outcomes in patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical records of 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach who underwent distal subtotal gastrectomy and D2 lymphadenectomy in our hospital from January 1998 to June 2004. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the appropriate cutoff value for tumor size, which was measured as maximum tumor diameter. Based on this cutoff value, patients were divided into two groups: those with large-sized tumors (LSTs) and those with small-sized tumors (SSTs). The correlations between other clinicopathologic factors and tumor size were investigated, and the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate was compared between the two groups. Potential prognostic factors were evaluated by univariate KaplanMeier survival analysis and multivariate Cox's propor-tional hazard model analysis. The 5-year OS rates in the two groups were compared according to pT stage and pN stage. RESULTS: The 5-year OS rate in the 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach was 53.7%. The mean ± SD tumor size was 4.9 ± 1.9 cm, and the median tumor size was 5.0 cm. ROC analysis indicated that the sensitivity and specificity results for the appropriate tumor size cutoff value of 4.8 cm were 80.0% and 68.2%, respectively (AUC=0.795, 95%CI: 0.751-0.839, P=0.000). Using this cutoff value, 222 patients (51.6%) had LSTs (tumor size ≥ 4.8 cm) and 208 (48.4%) had SSTs (tumor size<4.8 cm). Tumor size was significantly correlated with histological type (P=0.039), Borrmann type (P=0.000), depth of tumor invasion (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.000), tumor-nodes metastasis stage (P=0.000), mean number of metastatic lymph nodes (P=0.000) and metastatic lymph node ratio (P=0.000). High Fe‑Loading Single‑Atom Catalyst Boosts ROS Production by Density Effect for Efficient Antibacterial Therapy

AIM: To determine whether TFFl is associated with mucosa healing and carcinoma suppression, we assessthe expression of trefoil factor 1 in normal and pathologic gastric mucosa..Methods: Trefoil factor 1 in normal and pathologic gastric mucosa was assessed by immunohistochemicalmethod, and the average positive OD was estimated by Motic Images Advanced 3.0 ***: Increased TFFl was detected in gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer compared with normalmucosa. The same result could be seen in multiple and compound ulcer compared with simple ulcer. Therewas no significant difference between gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, gastritis and simple ulcerrespectively. Increased TFFl was detected in the peripheral mucosa of the gastric adenocarcinomacompared with normal mucosa. The expression of TFFl in gastric adenocarcinoma was related to thedifferentiation of adenocarcinoma. The lower adenocarcinoma differentiated, the weaker TFFl *** was no TFFl expressed in low differentiated adenocarcinoma. The expression of TFFl in middle andhigh differentiated adenocarcinoma was a little lower than that in normal mucosa. But there was nosignificant difference. No TFFl was assessed in esophageal squamous carcinoma and peripheral *** was no significant difference between male and ***: The expression of TFFl was higher in gastritis and peptic ulcer than that in normal mucosa,and was also higher in multiple and compound ulcer than that in simple ulcer. It seems that TFFl plays arole in gastric mucosa protection and epithelial restitution. Increased expression of TFFl in peripheraltissue suggests TFFl is associated with mechanism of carcinoma suppression and *** expression of TFFl in carcinoma and its relativity to the differentiation suggests TFFl is relatedto gland and cell destruction of carcinoma.

The current single-atom catalysts(SACs)for medicine still suffer from the limited active site ***,we develop a synthetic method capable of increasing both the metal loading and mass-specific activity of SACs by exchanging zinc with *** constructed iron SACs(h^(3)-FNC)with a high metal loading of 6.27 wt%and an optimized adjacent Fe distance of~4 A exhibit excellent oxidase-like catalytic performance without significant activity decay after being stored for six months and promising antibacterial ***,a“density effect”has been found at a high-enough metal doping amount,at which individual active sites become close enough to interact with each other and alter the electronic structure,resulting in significantly boosted intrinsic activity of single-atomic iron sites in h^(3)-FNCs by 2.3 times compared to low-and medium-loading ***,the overall catalytic activity of h^(3)-FNC is highly improved,with mass activity and metal mass-specific activity that are,respectively,66 and 315 times higher than those of commercial Pt/*** addition,h^(3)-FNCs demonstrate efficiently enhanced capability in catalyzing oxygen reduction into superoxide anion(O_(2)·^(−))and glutathione(GSH)*** in vitro and in vivo assays demonstrate the superior antibacterial efficacy of h^(3)-FNCs in promoting wound *** work presents an intriguing activity-enhancement effect in catalysts and exhibits impressive therapeutic efficacy in combating bacterial infections.
