LAPTM4B,which is a proto-oncogene,plays important roles in cancer progression,including clinical stages and pathologic grades.[1]The LAPTM4B gene encodes the lysosomal-associated protein transmembrane-4 beta(LAPTM4B)protein and LAPTM4B is cloned from hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).[2]There is increasing evidence that LAPTM4B is a novel oncogene,which is over-expressed in many human solid tumors.[3]Furthermore,the up-regulation of LAPTM4B is associated with chemotherapy resistance,as well as poor clinical outcomes and prognoses.[4,5]LAPTM4B also promotes cell survival,growth,proliferation,metastasis,tolerance to metabolic stress,and autophagy.[6]Thus,the LAPTM4B protein may represent an excellent candidate for individualized treatment and tumor monitoring.

Abdominal distention after cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)is a common phenomenon that presents in the emergency department.It is caused by a long period of bag-valve mask ventilation or esophageal intubation.However,a rare but life-threating diagnosis should be considered when distention progresses rapidly.Here,we reported a patient who developed a fever and abdominal pain that couldn’t be relieved by gastric decompression.

The dynamic formation,shock-induced inhomogeneous temperature rise and corresponding chemical reaction behaviors of PTFE/Al reactive liner shaped charge jet(RLSCJ)are investigated by the combination of mesoscale simulation,reaction kinetics and chemical energy release test.A two-dimensional granular model is developed with the randomly normal distribution of aluminum particle sizes and the particle delivery program.Then,the granular model is employed to study the shock-induced thermal behavior during the formation and extension processes of RLSCJ,as well as the temperature history curves of aluminum particles.The simulation results visualize the motion and temperature responses of the RLSCJ at the grain level,and further indicate that the aluminum particles are more likely to gather in the last two-thirds of the jet along its axis.Further analysis shows that the shock,collision,friction and deformation behaviors are all responsible for the steep temperature rise of the reactive jet.In addition,a shock-induced chemical reaction extent model of RLSCJ is built based on the combination of the Arrhenius model and the Avrami-Erofeev kinetic model,by which the chemical reaction growth behavior during the formation and extension stages is described quantitatively.The model indicates the reaction extent highly corresponds to the aluminum particle temperature history at the formation and extension stages.At last,a manometry chamber and the corresponding energy release model are used together to study the macroscopic chemical energy release characteristics of RLSCJ,by which the reaction extent model is verified.

Background:Clinical features and outcomes of heart failure(HF)with mid-range ejection fraction(HFmrEF)remain controversial.Thus,we systematically reviewed literatures of clinical research to assess and analyze characteristics and prognosis of patients with HFmrEF.Methods:PubMed,Embase,and Web of Science were searched for cohort studies up to April 23,2019.Clinical features and multivariate adjusted hazard ratios(HRs)of endpoints of short-term all-cause mortality(SAM),long-term all-cause mortality(LAM),long-term cardiovascular death(LCD)and long-term HF rehospitalization(LHR)among patients with HFmrEF and HF with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF),HF with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF)were well addressed.The primary outcome was LAM.Results:Totally 19 studies were included in this study with 164,678 patients enrolled.The follow-up time of LAM was 3.6±2.5 years.HRs of LAM,SAM,LCD,LHR indicated that the risks of patients with HFmrEF were higher than HFpEF patients but lower than HFrEF patients,as for LAM,HFmrEF:HFpEF(reference)HR:1.07,95%confidence interval(CI):1.00-1.15(I2=63%,P=0.0005);HFmrEF:HFrEF(reference)HR:0.80,95%CI:0.73-0.88(I2=70%,P<0.0001).However,HFmrEF patients had the lowest rate in LAM(30.94%),SAM(2.73%),LCD(17.45%),LHR(26.36%)compared with the other two groups.Conclusions:This systematic review and meta-analysis compared features and prognosis between patients with HFmrEF and HFpEF,HFrEF by HRs.There appeared a special"separation phenomenon"showing rates of endpoints were inconsistent with their hazards in patients with HFmrEF compared with HFpEF patients.

The growing integration of renewable energy generation manifests as an effective strategy for reducing carbon emissions. This paper strives to efficiently approximate the set of optimal scheduling plans (OSPs) to enhance the performance of the steady-state adaptive cruise method (SACM) of power grid, improving the ability of dealing with operational uncertainties. Initially, we provide a mathematical definition of the exact box-constrained economic operating region (EBC-EOR) for the power grid and its dispatchable components. Following this, we introduce an EBC-EOR formulation algorithm and the corresponding bi-level optimization models designed to explore the economic operating boundaries. In addition, we propose an enhanced big-M method to expedite the computation of the EBC-EOR. Finally, the effectiveness of the EBC-EOR formulation, its economic attributes, correlation with the scheduling plan underpinned by model predictive control, and the significant improvement in computational efficiency (over twelvefold) are verified through case studies conducted on two test systems..

Plant cells mount plenty of pattern-recognition receptors(PRRs)to detect the microbe-associated molecular patterns(MAMPs)from potential microbial pathogens.MAMPs are overrepresented by proteinaneous patterns,such as the flg22 peptide from bacterial flagellin.Identification of PRR receptor complex components by forward or reverse genetics can be time/labor-consuming,and be confounded by functional redundancies.Here,we present a strategy for identifying PRR complex components by engineering plants to inducibly secrete affinity-tagged proteinaneous MAMPs to the apoplast.The PRR protein complexes bound to self-secreted MAMPs are enriched through affinity purification and dissected by mass spectrometry.As a proof of principle,we could capture the flg22 receptor FLS2 and co-receptor BAK1 using Arabidopsis plants secreting FLAG-tagged flg22 under estradiolinduction.Moreover,we identified receptor-like kinases LIK1 and PEPR1/PEPR2 as potential components in the FLS2 receptor complex,which were further validated by protein–protein interaction assays and the reverse genetics approach.Our study showcases a simple way to biochemically identify endogenous PRR complex components without overexpressing the PRR or using chemical crosslinkers,and suggests a possible crosstalk between different immune receptors in plants.A modest dose of estradiol can also be applied to inducing enhanced immunity in engineered plants to both bacterial and fungal pathogens.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (PLELC) is a rare type of non-small-cell lung cancer. Stomach lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (LELC) metastasis secondary to PLELC has not been reported recently. CASE SUMMARY A 64-year-old female was admitted to our hospital for a regular gastroscopy examination with a 6-year history of surgical resection for left PLELC. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography suggested high accumulation of 18F-fludeoxyglucose in the gastric cardia region. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy confirmed a large mass at the stomach fundus. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of the biopsy suggested metastatic stomach LELC. Proximal gastrectomy showed that this 6.5 cm x 5.0 cm mass was located in the stomach fundus near the cardia. Histopathological examination showed a poorly differentiated carcinoma with prominent lymphoplasmacytic infiltration. IHC demonstrated that the tumor was positive for CK (AE1/AE3), p63, p40, p53, Ki-67 (70%), and EGFR (3+) and negative for CK7, CK20, Her2, and CD10. In situ hybridization analysis showed positive staining Epstein-Barr virus-encoded RNA. Tumor programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression score was 98%, and the combined positive score was 100, with no evidence of microsatellite instability. Thus, the patient was unequivocally diagnosed with metastatic stomach LELC secondary to pulmonary LELC. After discharge, this patient underwent PD-1 inhibitor treatment (toripalimab, 240 mg) every 3 wk for ten cycles, and she has had no tumor recurrence. CONCLUSION For gastric LELC metastasis, PD-1 inhibitor therapy could become a new therapeutic approach, though there is still no evidence from large data sets to support this.

Effect of extrusion temperature on microstructure and tensile properties of Mg-Gd-Er-Zn-Zr alloy containing LPSO phase

The Mg-1Gd-0.75Er-0.5Zn-0.18Zr(at.%)alloy with long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase was prepared by metal mold casting and hot extrusion.The extruded samples had a typical bimodal microstructure.The different fractions of equiaxed grains were observed in annealed samples.The percentage of fine grains decreased in the extruded Mg alloys with and without annealing treatment when the extrusion temperature was increased.The LPSO phases promote recrystal-lization behavior in the samples through particle-stimulated nucleation(PSN)mechanism.The Mg alloys extruded at 300℃ with or without annealing treatment obtained the best tensile properties.At the low extrusion temperature,more finely equiaxed grains with random texture are formed through PSN,and more LPSO phase kink bands are formed,which could improve the mechanical properties of the extruded Mg alloys.

Due to the lower operating voltage and higher theoretical specific capacity,tin phosphide is considered a class of materials with prospects as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).Among them,tin monophosphide has attracted people's attention due to its unique layered structure.Unfortunately,because of the challenging synthesis method and metastable nature,the application of SnP is limited.In this work,tin phosphide/carbon nanotubes(SnP/CNTs)are prepared by controlling the nucleation and adjusting the ratio of phosphorus/carbon using carbon nanotube as initiator.Sn-MOF is used as a template to make the morphology of SnP more evenly,and carbon nanotubes can also be used as a conductive network to increase the speed of electron transmission.As an anode material for LIBs,SnP/CNTs reveals superior rate performances(reversible capability of 610 mA·h·g^(-1)at 2000 mA·g^(-1)).The full-cell was assembled and tested,after 50 cycles at 0.1 C,the capacity can maintain 292 mA·h·g^(-1),and its capacity retention rate can reach 80.5%.After 230 cycles,its capacity can maintain at around 223 mA·h·g1.In addition,SnP/CNTs materials exhibit 89%pseudocapacitance contribution upon cycling,which indicates the robust Lit storage and satisfactory fast-charging capability.Hence,SnP/CNTs suggests a promising anode material for energy storage system.

BACKGROUND Pediatric enteritis is one of the infectious diseases in the digestive system that causes a variety of digestive problems,including diarrhea,vomiting,and bellyache in children.Clinically,Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is one of the common factors to cause pediatric enteritis.It has been demonstrated that aberrant expression of microRNAs(miRNAs)is found in gastrointestinal diseases caused by H.pylori,and we discovered a significant increase of miR-32-5p in H.pylori-related pediatric enteritis.However,the exact role of miR-32-5p in it is still unknown.AIM To investigate the role of aberrant miR-32-5p in pediatric enteritis induced by H.pylori.METHODS MiR-32-5p expression was detected by quantitative real time-polymerase chain reaction.The biological role of miR-32-5p in H.pylori-treated intestinal epithelial cells was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit-8 assay and flow cytometry.The potential target of miR-32-5p was predicted with TargetScanHuman and verified by luciferase assay.The downstream mechanism of miR-32-5p was explored by using molecular biology methods.RESULTS We found that miR-32-5p was overexpressed in serum of H.pylori-induced pediatric enteritis.Further investigation revealed that H.pylori infection promoted the death of intestinal epithelial cells,and increased miR-32-5p expression.Moreover,miR-32-5p mimic further facilitated apoptosis and inflammatory cytokine secretion of intestinal epithelial cells.Further exploration revealed that SMAD family member 6(SMAD6)was the direct target of miR-32-5p,and SMAD6 overexpression partially rescued cell damage induced by H.pylori.The following experiments showed that miR-32-5p/SMAD6 participated in the apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells induced by transforming growth factor-β-activated kinase 1(TAK1)-p38 activation under H.pylori infection.CONCLUSION Our work uncovered the crucial role of aberrant expression of miR-32-5p in H.pylori–related pediatric enteritis,and suggested that the TAK1-p38 pathway is involved in it.
