Background The incidence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci （VRE） appeared to be increasing in china, but very few nosocomial outbreaks have been reported. Our hospital had experienced an outbreak of VRE since March 2008 to March 2009. The objective of this study was to analyze the molecular features of the isolates and the control measures used to eradicate a VRE outbreak in a tertiary institution in *** We characterized VRE isolates from 21 infected and 11 colonized inpatients from a single hospital by pulsed field gel electrophoresis （PFGE）, multilocus sequence typing （MLST）, the analysis of Tn 1546-like elements and virulence genes detection. Infection control measures, including more environmental disinfection, screening for VRE colonization,contact precautions, education and strict antibiotic restriction, were implemented to control the *** During the outbreak, a total of 3. VRE strains were obtained. There were 21 strains found in Emergency Intensive Care Unit （EICU）, 9 isolates from Geriatric Ward, and two from other units. All the isolates harbored the vanA gene, however,four of them exhibited the VanB phenotype. Meanwhile, MLST analysis revealed that all isolates belonged to clonal complex （CC） 17. With the infection-control measures, the epidemic was constrained in two units （EICU and Geriatric Ward）. OBJECTIVES To assess the correlation between triglyceride glucose(TyG)index and in-hospital mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI).METHODS A total of 2190 patients with STEMI who underwent primary angiography within 12 h from symptom onset were selected from the prospective,nationwide,multicenter CAMI *** index was calculated with the formula:Ln[fasting triglycerides(mmol/L)×fasting glucose(mmol/L)/2].Patients were divided into three groups according to the tertiles of TyG *** primary endpoint was in-hospital *** Overall,46 patients died during hospitalization,in-hospital mortality was 1.5%,2.2%,2.6%for tertile 1,tertile 2,and tertile 3.***,TyG index was not significantly correlated with in-hospital mortality in single-variable logistic regression ***,after adjusting for age and sex,TyG index was significantly associated with higher mortality when regarded as a continuous variable(adjusted OR=1.75,95%CI:1.16-2.63.or categorical variable(tertile 3.*** 1:adjus-ted OR=2.50,95%CI:1.14-5.49).Furthermore,TyG index,either as a continuous variable(adjusted OR=2.54,95%CI:1.42-4.54)or categorical variable(tertile 3.*** 1:adjusted OR=3.57,95%CI:1.24-10.29),was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality after adjusting for multiple confounders in multivariable logistic regression *** subgroup analysis,the pro-gnostic effect of high TyG index was more significant in patients with body mass index<18.5 kg/m2(P interaction=0.006).CONCLUSIONS This study showed that TyG index was positively correlated with in-hospital mortality in STEMI patients who underwent primary angiography,especially in underweight patients.

AIM to evaluate the association of body mass index(b MI) with the overall survival of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC) *** A retrospective analysis of PDAC patients diagnosed in the National Cancer Center of china between January 1999 and December 2014 was performed. these patients were categorized into four b MI groups(3.27.4 and ≥ 27.5 kg/m2). χ2 tests for comparison of the proportions of categorical variables, and Student's t-test or Mann-Whitney test for continuous variables were employed. Survival analysis was performed with the Kaplan-Meyer method. their HRs of mortality and 95%CIs were estimated using the Cox proportional hazards *** With a median age of 59.6 years(range: 22.5-84.6 years), in total 1783.PDAC patients were enrolled in this study. their mean usual b MI was 24.19 ± 3.53.for the whole cohort. Three new phenolics（1–3. and twenty-eight known compounds（4–3.） were isolated from an ethanolic extract of roots of Alangium chinense. Compound 11 exhibited antiviral activity against Coxsackie virus B3.with IC50 values of 16.89 mmol/L. Compounds 1, 10–17, 19–21, and 23.showed strong antioxidant activity against Fe^2＋-cysteine-induced rat liver microsomal lipid peroxidation, with IC50 values of 0.14–8.18 mmol/L.

Micro RNAs(mi RNAs) are small noncoding RNAs. More than 2500 mature mi RNAs are detected in plants, animals and several types of viruses. Hepatitis C virus(HCV), which is a positive-sense, singlestranded RNA virus, does not encode viral mi RNA. However, HCV infection alters the expression of host mi RNAs, either in cell culture or in patients with liver disease progression, such as liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. In turn, host mi RNAs regulate HCV life cycle through directly binding to HCV RNAs or indirectly targeting cellular m RNAs. Increasing evidence demonstrates that mi RNAs are one of the centered factors in the interaction network between virus and host. The competitive viral and host RNA hypothesis proposes a latent cross-regulation pattern between host m RNAs and HCV RNAs. High loads of HCV RNA sequester and de-repress host mi RNAs from their normal host targets and thus disturb host gene expression, indicating a means of adaptation for HCV to establish a persistent infection. Some special mi RNAs are closely correlated with liver-specific disease progression and the changed levels of mi RNAs are even higher sensitivity and specificity than those of traditional proteins. Therefore, some of them can serve as novel diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers in HCVinfected patients with liver diseases. They are also attractive therapeutic targets for development of new anti-HCV agents.

Background： Controversial results about the therapeutic value of radiofrequency ablation （RFA） and liver resection （LR） in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastasis （CRCLM） have been reported. Thus, we performed the present meta-analysis to summarize the related clinical evidences. Methods： A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed （Medline）, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, for all years up to April 2016. Pooled analyses of the overall survival （OS）, progression-free survival （PFS）, and morbidity rates were performed. Results： A total of 14 studies were finally enrolled in the meta-analysis. Patients treated by LR gained a longer OS and PFS than those of patients treated by RFA. Patients in the RFA group had lower morbidity rates than those of patients in the LR group. Publication bias analysis revealed that there was no significant publication bias in the meta-analysis. Conclusions： Patients with CRCLM gained much more survival benefits from LR than that from RFA. RFA rendered lower rates of morbidities. More well-designed randomized controlled trails comparing the therapeutic value of LR and RFA are warranted.
