Evaluation of the short-term outcomes of robotic-assisted radical resection for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma:a propensity-scored matching analysis

Adaptive Stabilization for ODE Systems Coupled with Parabolic PDES

This paper is concerned with the adaptive stabilization for ODE systems coupled with parabolic PDEs. The presence of the uncertainties/unknonws and the coupling between the subsystems makes the system under investigation essentially different from those of the existing literature,and hence induces more technique obstacles in control design. Motivated by the related literature, an invertible infinite-dimensional backstepping transformation with appropriate kernel functions is first introduced to change the original system into a new one, from which the control design becomes much convenient. It is worthwhile pointing out that, since the kernel equations for which the kernel functions satisfy are coupled rather than cascaded, the desirable kernel functions are more difficult to derive than those of the closely related literature. Then, by Lyapunov method and a dynamics compensated technique, an adaptive stabilizing controller is successfully constructed, which guarantees that all the closed-loop system states are bounded while the original system states converging to zero. Finally, a simulation example is provided to validate the proposed method.

Electroviscous effect on electromagnetohydrodynamic flows of Maxwell fluids in parallel plate microchannels

Considering the influence of the streaming potential and electroviscous effects, the analytical solutions for electromagnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) flows in parallel plate microchannels are obtained. The electrolyte solutions in the microchannels are taken as generalized Maxwell fluids, and slip boundary conditions are adopted. To accurately analyze the EMHD flow characteristics, the variation trends of the electroviscous effects with the corresponding parameters must be understood. The results show that the electroviscous effects increase with the increase in the relaxation time De, the slip coefficient , and the wall zeta potential 0. However, the increase in the inverse of the electrical double-layer (EDL) thickness K, the electrical oscillating Reynolds number Re, and the ionic P'eclet number Pe can decrease the electroviscous effects. We also demonstrate that the electroviscous effect on the EMHD flows of generalized Maxwell fluids is larger than that of Newtonian fluids. This work will be useful in designing EMHD flows in parallel plate microchannels.

Exploring the spectral information content in the LAMOST medium-resolution survey(MRS)

Although high-resolution stellar spectra allow us to derive precise stellar labels(effective temperature,metallicity,surface gravity,elemental abundances,etc.)based on resolved atomic lines and molecular bands,low-resolution spectra have been proved to be competitive in determining many stellar labels at comparable *** is useful to consider the spectral information content when assessing the capability of a stellar spectrum in deriving precise stellar *** this work,we quantify the information content brought by the LAMOST-II medium-resolution spectroscopic survey(MRS)using the gradient spectra as well as the coefficients-of-dependence(CODs).In general,the wavelength coverage of the MRS well constrains the stellar labels but the sensitivities of different stellar labels vary with spectral types and metallicity of the stars of ***,this affects the performance of the stellar label determination from the MRS *** applying the SLAM method to the synthetic spectra which mimic the MRS data,we find that the precision of the fundamental stellar parameters Teff,log g and[M/H]are better when combining both the blue and red bands of the *** is especially important for warm stars because the Hαline located in the red part plays a more important role in determining the effective temperature for warm *** blue and red parts together,we are able to reach similar performance to the low-resolution spectra except for warm ***,at[M/H]-2.0 dex,the uncertainties of fundamental stellar labels estimated from MRS are substantially larger than that from low-resolution *** also tested the uncertainties of Teff,log g and[M/H]from MRS data induced from the radial velocity mismatch and find that a mismatch of about 1 km s-1,which is typical for LAMOST MRS data,would not significantly affect the stellar label ***,reference precision limits are calculated using synthetic gradient spectra,according to which we expect a

SINR Driven Joint Network Selection Policy in the Heterogeneous Internet of Things

In the heterogeneous Internet of things(Io T), the Signal to interference plus noise ratio(SINR)and delay constraint are two important factors that influence the throughput of Io T and the performance of *** recently, most network selection policy researches were based on either the Shannon theory or the signal strength, while the combined influence of the delay constraint and the SINR, which has a significant impact on resource utilization, is hardly considered. We therefore propose an SINR driven joint network selection policy, which incorporates the delay constraint and the signal strength into the SINR. This policy permits Io T users to access the network with the maximum of SINR from all the available networks under the delay and signal strength *** analysis and the simulation results show that the joint network selection policy can obtain the higher throughput of Io T and average SINR comparing with other polices.

Expression of trefoil factors 1 and 2 in precancerous condition and gastric cancer

AIM： To study the expression of trefoil factor 1 （TFF1） and TFF2 in precancerous condition and gastric cancer and to explore the relationship between TFFs and tumorigenesis, precancerous condition and gastric cancer. METHODS： The expression of TFF1 and TFF2 was immunohistochemically analyzed in paraffin-embedded samples from 140 patients including 35 cases of chronic superficial gastritis （CSG）, 35 cases of gastric ulcer （GU）, 35 cases of chronic atrophic gastritis （CAG） and 35 cases of gastric cancer （GC）. RESULTS： TFF1 and TFF2 were located in cytoplasm of gastric mucous cells. In CSG, GU, CAG and GC, the level of TFF1 expression had a decreased tendency （P〈 0.05）. The expression of TFF2 was higher in GU than in CSG, but the difference was not significant. The expression of TFF2 also had a decreased tendency in GU, CAG, and GC （P〈 0.05）. CONCLUSION： The reduced expression of TFF1 and TFF2 in precancerous conditions and gastric cancer may be associated with the proliferation and malignant transformation of gastric mucosa. More investigations are needed to explore the mechanism of TFFs and the relationship between TFFs and gastric cancer.

Effect of aspect ratio on triaxial compression of multi-sphere ellipsoid assemblies simulated using a discrete element method

Here, we present a numerical investigation of the mechanical behavior of ellipsoids under triaxial com- pression for a range of aspect ratios. Our simulations use a multi-sphere approach in a three-dimensional discrete element method. All assemblies were prepared at their densest condition, and triaxial compres- sion tests were performed up to extremely large strains, until a critical state was reached. The stress-strain relationship and the void ratio-strain behavior were evaluated. We found that the stress-dilatancy rela- tionship of ellipsoids with different aspect ratios could be expressed as a linear equation. In particular, the aspect ratio influenced the position of the critical state lines for these assemblies. Particle-scale char- acteristics at the critical state indicate that particles tend to be flat lying, and the obstruction of particle rotation that occurs with longer particles affects their contact mechanics. Lastly, anisotropic coefficients related to aspect ratio were investigated to probe the microscopic origins of the macroscopic behavior. A detailed analysis of geometrical and mechanical anisotropies revealed the microscopic mechanisms underlying the dependency of peak and residual strengths on aspect ratio.
