Biological soft tissues and hydrogels belong to the same category of soft and wet *** of them are composed of polymer network and a certain amount of water,and permeable to small *** tissues possess elaborated structures and exhibit outstanding *** the other hand,hydrogels are usually amorphous with poor *** recent years,various hydrogels with robust functionalities have been developed by introducing aggregated structures into the gel networks,widely extend their applications in diverse fields,such as soft actuators,biological sensors,and structural *** strategies are usually used to fabricate aggregated structure into hydrogels,including molecular self-assembling,microphase separation,crystallization,and inorganic *** aggregated structures entail the gel very different functionalities.A simple aggregated structure is able to bring multiple functionalities and a combination of mechanical performances of the *** this review,we describe the strategies used to construct aggerated structure in hydrogels and discuss about the close relation between the aggregated structure and *** also highlight the role of nonequilibrium aggregated structure in fabricating hydrogels with dynamic memorizing-forgetting behavior and point out the remaining challenges.

Therapeutic Effect and Safety of Ustekinumab for Plaque Psoriasis: A Meta-analysis

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ustekinumab in the therapy of plaque psoriasis. Methods Literatures published up to November 2013 were collected from Cochrane library, MEDLINE, and PubMed which were related with ustekinumab for plaque psoriasis. The efficacy was estimated using relative risk of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index （PASI） 75 response rate at the week 12 endpoint in clinical trials, and adverse effects were also analyzed. Meta-analysis was carried out by using Review Manager 5.1. Results Six randomized control trials consistent with the inclusion criteria were selected and reviewed. Ustekinumab 45 mg group and 90 mg group could get better therapeutic effect compared with the placebo group （all P〈0.00001）. Furthermore, ustekinumab 90 mg group was more effective than ustekinumab 45 mg group （P=0.01）. Adverse effects in the 6 trials were mentioned including headache, upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngtis, infection, serious infection, cardiovascular events, and malignant tumors. There were no statistically significant differences of these adverse effects among three groups （all P〉0.0S）, except that infection rate in ustekinumab 45 mg group was higher than the placebo group （P=0.02）. Conclusions Ustekinumab is an effective and safe therapeutic method for plaque psoriasis. However, further longer time analysis of safety is needed.

OBJECTIVES: To observe expression of CD14 protein and its gene in Kupffer cells induced bylipopolysaccharide (LPS) and explore the role of CD14 in LPS-induced Kupffer cell ***: Kupffer cells were isolated from Wistar rat livers by in situ collagenase digestion, followedby culture and incubation with 100μg/ml LPS for 0, 30, 60 and 120 min, respectively. CD14 proteinexpressed on the membrane of Kupffer cells was examined using confocal microscopy and Western blottinganalysis. Expression of CD14 mRNA in Kupffer cells was determined by reverse transcription polymerasechain reaction (RT-PCR). Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6 in the supernatantwere measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) ***: Expression of CD14 mRNA and CD14 protein in isolated Kupffer cells was upregullatedquickly after LPS stimulation and increased with time. Likewise, there was a time-dependent increase ofTNF-α and IL-6 in the supernatant with upregulation of CD14 expression. There were significantdifferences between normal and LPS-stimulated Kupffer cells (P<0. 05).CONCLUSIONS: LPS can upregulate expression of CD14 protein and its gene in isolated Kupffer ***14 may play an important role in the activation of LPS-induced Kupffer cells.

AIM To detect the existence of isolated cancer cells in the mesentery of colorectum(named as Metastasis V), and investigate its clinical significance in colorectal cancer(CRC) *** Sixty-three CRC patients who received radical excision between January 2012 and September 2015 were included. All the patients underwent laparoscopyassisted radical colorectomy or proctectomy [with complete mesocolic excision(CME) or total mesorectal excision(TME)] with R0 dissections at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The location and size of the primary lesions were recorded immediately after the tumor was removed, with the surrounding mesenterium completely separated along the intestinal wall. Each dissected mesentery sample was analyzed for hematoxylin-eosin staining and immunohistochemistry using cytokeratin 19 antibody. Image Pro Plus Software 6.0(Media Cybernetics, CA, United States) was usedto semi-quantitatively measure the concentration of the cytokeratin 19 immunohistochemistry. The correlation between metastasis found in mesentery and clinicopathological characteristics was examined. The prognosis of patients was also evaluated by preoperative serum CEA *** Metastasis V was detected in 14 of 63(22.2%) CRC patients who underwent laparoscopy-assisted radical colorectomy or proctectomy(with CME or TME) with R0 dissection in our hospital between January 2012 and September 2015. There was no significant difference in age, gender, tumor size, and tumor location in patients with Metastasis V(P > 0.05). Metastasis V was more likely to occur in poorly differentiated tumor(5/11; 45.5%) than moderately(8/46; 17.4%) and welldifferentiated one(1/6; 16.7%). The Metastasis V in N2 stage(9/14; 64.3%) was more frequent that in the N0 stage(3/35; 8.6%) or N1 stages(2/14; 14.3%). Liver is one of the organs with the highest injury rate, and in recent decades, the guidelines for the treatment of liver trauma have changed considerably. Now, there is a growing consensus that the most important step is diagnosis and depending upon the degree of severity, non-operative therapy is the main treatment method for hepatic trauma if conditions permit. For serious hepatic trauma patients such as those with hemodynamic instability, they should be operated upon as soon as possible. Regardless of the surgical options, doctors should control damage to patients and try to prevent complications. New therapies such as hepatic artery embolization and liver transplantation have been more and more used for the treatment of serious heoatic damage in clinics.

BACKGROUND: Pancreatic encephalopathy (PE), an un- familiar complication of severe acute pancreatitis ( SAP) , is difficult to diagnose and treat, and it has a high mortality. The aim of this study was to investigate the manifestation, classification, mechanism and therapy of PE. METHODS: Of 132 patients with SAP treated at our hospi- tal from March 1994 to March 2004, 24 patients complicated by PE were analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS: The causes of SAP were mostly biliary and alco- holic. Twenty-four patients (18.2%) were complicated by PE within 3 hours-38 days ( average 6. 6 days) [ 21 (87. 5%) within 2 weeks, and 3(12.5%) after 2 weeks]. Eleven pa- tients were male and 13 female, with an average of 47 years (range 25-72 years). Excitement or restrain was the main manifestation. Nine patients (37.5%) received surgery and 15 (62.5%) conservative treatment, with a mortality of 11.1 % (1/9) and 66.7% (10/15), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: PE occurs 2 weeks after SAP and is part of multiple organ failure (MOF). Some patients have PE in the late stage of SAP because of lack of VitB1 and nutri- tion. But PE can be prevented by prescribing adequate nu- trition and VitB1 in the early stage of SAP.
