Relationship of level of sex hormone and sex hormone receptor with development of metabolic syndrome in elderly men

Objective The sex hormone and the corresponding receptor may play some roles in the development of the metabolic syndrome （MS） in the elderly men. This study was designed to examine the relationship of level of the sex hormone and androgen receptor with MS in elderly men, thus to investigate the possible pathogenesis of MS. Methods This cross sectional study enrolled 587 elderly men, including 400 healthy controlls aged 62-92 years and 187 MS patients aged 60-87 years in Wan Shou Lu area of Beijing city. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate （DHAE-S）, total testosterone （TT）, sex hormone binding globulin （SHBG）, free testosterone （FT）, follicle-stimulating hormone （FSH）,Estradiol （E2）,luteinizing hormone（LH） and androgen receptor （AR） in blood were tested. Statistical analyses included the comparison analysis of variables and independent variables, correlation analysis using multi-factor linear regression, and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results DHAE-S, TT, SHBG, FT and AR fluorescence intensity in healthy control group were higher than those in MS group, however, FSH and E2 levels were lower in healthy group. Age was negatively correlated with diastolic blood pressure （DBP） and FT, but positively correlated with systolic blood pressure （SBP） and E2. AR fluorescence intensity was negatively correlated with SBP and LH. The logistic regression equation showed the negative correlation between DHEA-S, SHBG and the development of MS. Conclusions There are low levels of DHEA-S, TT, SHBG, FT and AR in the elderly patients with MS. On the contrary, FSH and E2 concentration are higher. It can be suggested that low levels of DHEA-S and SHBG may be the potential risk factors of MS in elderly men.

There is considerable potential for integrating transarterial chemoembolization(TACE),programmed death-(ligand)1(PD-[L]1)inhibitors,and molecular targeted treatments(MTT)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).It is necessary to investigate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of TACE combined with PD-(L)1 inhibitors and MTT in real-world *** this nationwide,retrospective,cohort study,826 HCC patients receiving either TACE plus PD-(L)1 blockades and MTT(combination group,n=376)or TACE monotherapy(monotherapy group,n=450)were included from January 2018 to May *** primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS)according to modified *** secondary outcomes included overall survival(OS),objective response rate(ORR),and *** performed propensity score matching approaches to reduce bias between two *** matching,228 pairs were included with a predominantly advanced disease *** PFS in combination group was 9.5 months(95%confidence interval[CI],8.4-11.0)versus 8.0 months(95%CI,6.6-9.5)(adjusted hazard ratio[HR],0.70,P=0.002).OS and ORR were also significantly higher in combination group(median OS,19.2[16.1-27.3]vs.15.7 months[13.0-20.2];adjusted HR,0.63,P=0.001;ORR,60.1%vs.32.0%;P<0.001).Grade 3/4 adverse events were observed at a rate of 15.8%and 7.5%in combination and monotherapy groups,*** results suggest that TACE plus PD-(L)1 blockades and MTT could significantly improve PFS,OS,and ORR versus TACE monotherapy for Chinese patients with predominantly advanced HCC in real-world practice,with an acceptable safety profile.

The Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope（LAMOST） general survey is a spectroscopic survey that will eventually cover approximately half of the celestial sphere and collect 10 million spectra of stars, galaxies and QSOs. Objects in both the pilot survey and the first year regular survey are included in the LAMOST DR1. The pilot survey started in October 2011 and ended in june 2012, and the data have been released to the public as the LAMOST Pilot Data Release in August 2012. The regular survey started in September 2012, and completed its first year of operation in june 2013. The LAMOST DR1 includes a total of 1202 plates containing 2 955 336 spectra, of which 1 790 879 spectra have observed signalto-noise ratio（SNR） ≥ 10. All data with SNR ≥ 2 are formally released as LAMOST DR1 under the LAMOST data policy. This data release contains a total of 2 204 696 spectra, of which 1 944 329 are stellar spectra, 12 082 are galaxy spectra and 5017 are quasars. The DR1 not only includes spectra, but also three stellar catalogs with measured parameters： late A,FGK-type stars with high quality spectra（1 061 918 entries）, A-type stars（100 073 entries）, and M-type stars（121 522 entries）. This paper introduces the survey design, the observational and instrumental limitations, data reduction and analysis, and some caveats. A description of the FITS structure of spectral files and parameter catalogs is also provided.

范德瓦耳斯材料相对扭转到特定角度时,会出现几乎零色散的莫尔平带,从而产生一系列关联电子物态,例如非常规超导、关联绝缘态和轨道磁性等.在转角双层-双层石墨烯(TDBG)体系中,能带带宽和拓扑性质可以通过栅极施加的电位移场原位调控,使该体系成为良好的研究拓扑相变和强关联物理的量子模拟平台.在一定的电位移场作用下,TDBG中C_(2x)对称性破缺,中性点附近的导带和价带会获得有限的陈数.能带的拓扑性质与强相互作用驱动的对称性破缺使得可以在低磁场下实现并调控陈绝缘态.本工作通过制备高质量TDBG器件,在有限磁场下,在莫尔原胞填充因子ν=1处发现了陈数为4的陈绝缘态.同时还发现纵向电阻出现电阻峰并随平行磁场或温度升高而增强的现象,这类似于^(3)He中的pomeranchuk效应,推测ν=1处的陈绝缘态或许源于同位旋的极化.

目的评价老年2型糖尿病患者阿司匹林抵抗的发生率及可能的危险因素.方法 140例老年2型糖尿病患者,年龄60～92岁,平均（73.8±8.0）岁,口服阿司匹林（≥75 mg）1个月以上.血小板聚集功能采用血小板聚集试验（LTA）和血栓弹力图法（TEG）评价.结果 LTA法检测6例（4.3%）患者为阿司匹林抵抗,44例（31.4%）患者为阿司匹林半抵抗.TEG法检测31例（22.1%）患者为阿司匹林抵抗,其中LTA法显示3例.经TEG法检测分组多因素回归分析结果显示,女性（OR=5.54,95%CI：1.17～27.47,P=0.036）、同型半胱氨酸水平（OR=1.15,95%CI：1.00～1.35,P=0.043）为阿司匹林抵抗的危险因素.结论老年2型糖尿病患者阿司匹林抵抗发生率较高,阿司匹林抵抗更易发生在女性、高同型半胱氨酸水平的患者.

The jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(junO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main *** of junO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator *** this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of junO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/*** ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are *** large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation *** m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),junO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith ***,junO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.

junO is a multi-purpose neutrino observatory under construction in the south of *** publication presents new sensitivity estimates for the measurement of the △m_(31)^(2),△m_(21)^(2),sin^(2)θ_(12),and sin^(2)θ_(13) oscillation parameters using reactor antineutrinos,which is one of the primary physics goals of the *** sensitivities are obtained using the best knowledge available to date on the location and overburden of the experimental site,the nuclear reactors in the surrounding area and beyond,the detector response uncertainties,and the reactor antineutrino spectral shape constraints expected from the TAO satellite *** is found that the △m_(21)^(2) and sin^(2)θ_(12) oscillation parameters will be determined to 0.5%precision or better in six years of data *** the same period,the △m_(31)^(2) parameter will be determined to about 0.2%precision for each mass ordering *** new precision represents approximately an order of magnitude improvement over existing constraints for these three parameters.

阵发性睡眠性血红蛋白尿症(PNH)是一种罕见后天获得的克隆性造血干细胞(HSC)疾病.发病机制为磷脂酰肌醇聚糖A(PIGA)基因突变导致细胞膜上锚连蛋白糖基磷脂酰肌醇(GPI)异常,从而使各种血细胞遭受补体攻击破坏.发作性溶血和慢性贫血是最常见临床表现,也可出现多系血细胞减少为表现的骨髓衰竭.血栓形成是PNH的主要并发症及死亡原因之一.早期治疗仅为输血支持,补体C5单克隆抗体成为经典PNH治疗中的突破性药物,异基因造血干细胞移植是唯一可能治愈PNH的方法.北京协和医院是国内最早报道PNH病例的单位,也是国内不断改进PNH检测方法的领先中心.临床和基础研究团队长期积累,建立了国内最大PNH队列,在探索PNH骨髓衰竭和血栓发生机制等方面成为国内引领.在北京协和医院建院百年之际,本文回顾历史,总结协和及国内血液人在PNH上的临床和研究经验,以期传承老一辈的钻研精神,进一步提高PNH诊治水平.
