Hard carbon anode has shown extraordinary potentials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)owing to the cost-effectiveness and advantaged ***,the widespread application of hard carbon is still hindered by the insufficient sodium storage capacity and depressed rate property,which are mainly induced by the undesirable pseudographitic ***,we develop a molten-salt-mediated strategy to regulate the pseudographitic structure of hard carbon with suitable interlayer spacing and enlarged pseudographitic domain,which is conducive to the intercalation capacity and diffusion kinetics of sodium ***,the optimized hard carbon anode delivers a high reversible capacity of 320 mAh·g^(−1),along with superior rate property(138 mAh·g−1 at 2 A·g^(−1))and stable cyclability over 1800 ***,the in situ Raman spectroscopic study and full-cell assembly further investigate the sodium storage mechanism and practical implement of obtained hard *** work pioneers a low-cost and effective route to regulate the pseudographitic structure of hard carbon materials for advanced SIBs.

The rapid urban development has caused serious problems such as high energy consumption and carbon emissions,especially under the context of climate *** are particularly energy-intensive,generating about one third of global energyrelated carbon *** with active solutions(like mechanical systems),passive solutions offer the potential to balance energy consumption,thermal comfort,and ecological *** potential solution is the integration of green glass space(ggS)into passive building *** is a transitional building space with glass curtain walls that exhibit excellent insulation performance during ***,ggS is susceptible to overheating during summer,which limits its ***,this work proposes a strategy of integrating vertical greenery into ggS,leveraging the nature-based solution of greenery(i.e.,flourishes in summer and withers in winter)to address this seasonal challenge of *** results demonstrated that the strategic application of vertical greenery can effectively mitigate the overheating in ggS and improve comprehensive *** using full coverage of vertical greenery in a linear layout,the air temperature of ggS and cooling energy consumption were largely reduced by 8.02℃and 12.2%,respectively,while the carbon abatement was enhanced by up to 101.11 *** on a comprehensive evaluation of energy,economy,and environmental benefits,it is recommended to use a greenery configuration with 50%coverage in a vertical linear layout for *** integration of greenery into building design can mitigate adverse environmental impacts,reduce energy consumption,and contribute to the sustainable development of low-carbon cities.

Here,we report a previously unrecognized syndromic neurodevelopmental disorder associated with biallelic loss-of-function variants in the RBM42 *** patient is a 2-year-old female with severe central nervous system(CNs)abnormalities,hypotonia,hearing loss,congenital heart defects,and dysmorphic facial *** whole-exome sequencing(WEs)reveals that the patient has two compound heterozygous variants,c.304C>T(p.R102*)and c.1312g>A(p.A438T),in the RBM42.gene which encodes an integral component of splicing complex in the RNA-binding motif protein *** p.A438T variant is in the RRM domain which impairs RBM42 pro-tein stability in ***,p.A438T disrupts the interaction of RBM42 with hnRNP K,which is the causa-tive gene for Au-Kline syndrome with overlapping disease characteristics seen in the index *** human R102*or A438T mutant protein failed to fully rescue the growth defects of RBM42 ortholog knockout△FgRbp1 in Fusarium while it was rescued by the wild-type(WT)human RBM42.A mouse model carying Rbm42 compound heterozygous variants,c.280C>T(p.Q94*)and c.1306_1308delinsACA(p.A436T),demonstrated gross fetal develop-mental defects and most of the double mutant animals died by ***-seq data confirmed that Rbm42 was involved in neurological and myocardial functions with an essential role in alternative splicing(As).Overall,we present clinical,genetic,and functional data to demonstrate that defects in RBM42 constitute the underlying etiology of a new neurodevelopmental disease which links the dysregulation of global AS to abnormal embryonic development.

Metal(aluminum and boron)based energetic materials have been wildly applied in various fields including aerospace,explosives and micro-devices due to their high energy ***,the low combustion efficiency and reactivity of metal fuels,especially boron(B),severely limit their practical ***,multi-component 3D microspheres of HMX/B/Al/PTFE(HBA)have been designed and successfully prepared by emulsion and solvent evaporation method to achieve superior energy and combustion *** reactivity and energy output of HBA are systematically measured by ignitionburning test,constant-volume explosion vessel system and bomb *** to the increased interfacial contact and reaction area,HBA shows higher flame propagation rate,faster pressurization rate and larger combustion heat of 29.95 cm/s,1077 kPa/s,and 6164.43 J/g,which is 1.5 times,3.5 times,and 1.03 times of the physical mixed counterpart(HBA-P).Meanwhile,HBA also shows enhanced energy output and reactivity than 3D microspheres of HMX/B/PTFE(HB)resulting from the high reactivity of *** reaction mechanism of 3D microspheres is comprehensively investigated through combustion emission spectral and thermal analysis(Tg-DSC-MS).The superior reactivity and energy of HBA originate from the surface etching of fluorine to the inert shell(Al_(2)O_(3) and B_(2)O_(3))and the initiation effect of Al to *** work offers a promising approach to design and prepare high-performance energetic materials for the practical applications.

Mature wheat kernels contain three main parts:endosperm,bran,and *** milling results in multiple streams that are chemically different;however,the distribution of antioxidants and phenolic compounds has not been well documented in terms of conventional milling by-product *** this study,multiple analytical methods were used to investigate antioxidant activity and phenolic compound compositions of hard red winter wheat(whole ground wheat),the parts of a wheat kernel(bran,flour,germ),and wheat by-product streams(mill feed,red dog,shorts)for the first *** each mill stream,phenolic compounds(total,flavonoid,and anthocyanin contents)were determined and antioxidant activities were evaluated with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radical-scavenging activity,ferric reducing/antioxidant power(FRAP),and total antioxidant capacity *** differences(Pg fractions of bran,flour,and germ milled from the same kernels and noted that germ accounts for the majority of antioxidant properties,whereas bran contains a substantial portion of phenolic compounds and *** feed was high in phenolic content(5.29 mg FAE/g),total antioxidant capacity(866 mg/g),and antioxidant activity(up to 75% DPPH inhibition and 20.26μmol FeSO_(4)/g).The comprehensive information on distribution of antioxidants and phenolic compounds provides insights for future human consumption of commonly produced co-products from flour milling,and for selecting and using different milling fractions to make foods with improved nutritional properties.
