Activation of medial septum cholinergic neurons restores cognitive function in temporal lobe epilepsy

Cognitive impairment is the most common complication in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal scle *** is no effective treatment for cognitive *** septum cholinergic neurons have been reported to be a potential target for controlling epileptic seizures in tempo ral lobe epile ***,their role in the cognitive impairment of temporal lobe epilepsy remains *** this study,we found that patients with temporal lobe epile psy with hippocampal sclerosis had a low memory quotient and severe impairment in verbal memory,but had no impairment in nonverbal *** cognitive impairment was slightly correlated with reduced medial septum volume and medial septum-hippocampus tra cts measured by diffusion tensor *** a mouse model of chronic temporal lobe epilepsy induced by kainic acid,the number of medial septum choline rgic neurons was reduced and acetylcholine release was reduced in the ***,selective apoptosis of medial septum cholinergic neurons mimicked the cognitive deficits in epileptic mice,and activation of medial septum cholinergic neurons enhanced hippocampal acetylcholine release and restored cognitive function in both kainic acid-and kindling-induced epile psy *** res ults suggest that activation of medial septum cholinergic neurons reduces cognitive deficits in temporal lobe epilepsy by increasing acetylcholine release via projections to the hippocampus.

The available modelling data shortage issue makes it difficult to guarantee the performance of data-driven building energy prediction(BEP)models for both the newly built buildings and existing information-poor *** knowledge transfer learning(KTL)and data incremental learning(DIL)can address the data shortage issue of such *** new building scenarios with continuous data accumulation,the performance of BEP models has not been fully investigated considering the data accumulation ***,which can learn dynamic features from accumulated data adapting to the developing trend of new building time-series data and extend BEP model's knowledge,has been rarely *** studies have shown that the performance of KTL models trained with fixed data can be further improved in scenarios with dynamically changing ***,this study proposes an improved transfer learning cross-BEP strategy continuously updated using the coarse data incremental(CDI)*** hybrid KTL-DIL strategy(LSTM-DANN-CDI)uses domain adversarial neural network(DANN)for KLT and long short-term memory(LSTM)as the Baseline BEP *** evaluation is conducted to systematically qualify the effectiveness and applicability of KTL and improved ***-world data from six-type 36 buildings of six types are adopted to evaluate the performance of KTL and KTL-DIL in data-driven BEP tasks considering factors like the model increment time interval,the available target and source building data *** with LSTM,results indicate that KTL(LSTM-DANN)and the proposed KTL-DIL(LSTM-DANN-CDI)can significantly improve the BEP performance for new buildings with limited *** with the pure KTL strategy LSTM-DANN,the improved KTL-DIL strategy LSTM-DANN-CDI has better prediction performance with an average performance improvement ratio of 60%.

Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO)is considered as a promising solid-state electrolyte due to its high ionic conductivity,wide electrochemical window,and excellent electrochemical ***,its application in solid-state lithium metal batteries(SSLMBs)is impeded by the growth of lithium dendrites in LLZO due to some reasons such as its high electronic *** this study,lithium fluoride(LiF)was introduced into Ta-doped LLZO(LLZTO)to modify its grain boundaries to enhance the performance of SSLMBs.A nanoscale LiF layer was uniformly coated on the LLZTO grains,creating a threedimensional continuous electron-blocking network at the grain *** from the electronic insulator LiF and the special structure of the modified LLZTO,the symmetric cells based on LLZO achieved a high critical current density(CCD)of 1.1 mA·cm^(-2)(in capacity-constant mode)and maintained stability over 2000 h at 0.3 mA·cm^(-2).Moreover,the full cells combined with a LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode,demonstrated excellent cycling performance,retaining 97.1% of capacity retention after 500 cycles at 0.5 ***,this work provides a facile and effective approach for preparing a modified electrolyte suitable for high-performance SSLMBs.

Seizures due to cortical dysplasia are notorious for their poor prognosis even with medications and surgery,likely due to the widespread seizure *** studies have primarily focused on the disruption of dysplastic lesions,rather than remote regions such as the ***,we first quantified the epileptogenicity of the hippocampus in patients with late-stage cortical *** further investigated the cellular substrates leading to the epileptic hippocampus,using multiscale tools including calcium imaging,optogenetics,immunohistochemistry and *** the first time,we revealed the role of hippocampal somatostatin-positive interneurons in cortical dysplasia-related ***-positive were recruited during cortical dysplasia-related ***,optogenetic studies suggested that somatostatin-positive interneurons paradoxically facilitated seizure *** contrast,parvalbumin-positive interneurons retained an inhibitory role as in *** recordings and immunohistochemical studies revealed glutamate-mediated excitatory transmission from somatostatin-positive interneurons in the dentate *** together,our study reveals a novel role of excitatory somatostatin-positive neurons in the seizure network and brings new insights into the cellular basis of cortical dysplasia.

Background:Benign childhood epilepsy with Central temporal spikes(BECTS) is one of the most common childhood epilepsy syndromes,and the language deficits in children with BECTS have become a hot topic of *** study sought to investigate the alteration of language network in BECTS children with spikes from non-dominant side comparing with healthy *** and method:Eight children with BECTS and ten age-matched healthy controls recruited from West China hospital,Sichuan university were scanned on a 3T functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI).Region of interest(ROI)-based functional connectivity analysis was employed to identify the potential differences in the functional connectivity of the Broca’s area between two ***:Increased positive functional connectivity within Broca’s region was detected mainly at the left superior frontal gyrus(Brodmann area 8),bilateral insula,anterior and posterior cingulate in BECTS ***:The present study suggests altered language networks related with Broca’s area in children with BECTS from non-dominant *** studies with longitudinal assessments from the perceptive of functional neuroimaging are needed to illustrate the dynamic course of language development and corresponding neuroimaging evidence.

针对我国现有圆捆机自动化程度低、多依靠工作人员手动控制,草捆质量不高等问题,在9YG-1.3型圆捆机上,采用机电液一体化技术,设计了一套圆捆机打捆过程控制监测系统。液压系统实现后仓门开启、关闭及草捆密度的调节;PLC控制系统利用压力传感器以及电液比例溢流阀实现液压系统压力的调节,利用电磁三位四通换向阀以及电磁离合器实现油路换向以及捆绳的闭环控制;触摸屏终端作为人机交互界面,实现液压系统压力的设定和实时显示。系统实现了圆捆机草捆密度调节以及打捆过程的自动化,提高了草捆质量,简化了操作流程。试验表明:该系统工作安全可靠,草捆成捆率达到100%,草捆外层更加紧密,液压系统压力可实现8~16 MPa自由调节。

目的·了解江苏省某三甲医院抗菌药物使用的变化,为医院抗菌药物管理的改进提供参考。方法·采用断面时点流行病学调查方法分别于2019年10月16日和2022年9月15日对徐州医科大学附属医院抗菌药物使用及医院感染情况进行调查。相关数据应用Excel 16.0进行汇总,使用SPSS 26.0软件进行数据分析,使用率、构成比描述相关数据,比较性分析采用χ^(2)检验。结果·2019年共纳入患者数474人,调查当天患者抗菌药物使用率为48.1%;2022年共纳入患者数484人,调查当天患者抗菌药物使用率为33.5%。与2019年相比,2022年住院患者抗菌药物使用率有所降低。单用一种抗菌药物使用率由38.6%上升至82.7%(χ^(2)=75.182,P=0.000),二联使用率由40.8%降为14.2%(χ^(2)=32.048,P=0.000),四联使用率由14.0%降为0(χ^(2)=24.769,P=0.000)。2019年与2022年手术预防抗菌药物单联使用率分别为61.5%、88.1%,手术预防抗菌药物使用为两种及以上的分别为38.5%、11.9%,2022年手术预防抗菌药物单联使用率高于2019年(χ^(2)=27.297,P=0.000);抗菌药物使用有用药记录率由4.0%上升至97.8%(χ^(2)=695.523,P=0.000),抗菌药物使用有停药记录率由22.4%上升至91.0%(χ^(2)=468.698,P=0.000),临床医生经验性使用抗菌药物率由47.3%上下降至35.8%(χ^(2)=260.038,P=0.000),抗菌药物使用基于炎症指标率由18.9%上升至27.0%(χ^(2)=505.637,P=0.000),抗菌药物使用遵循指南率由88.6%上升至92.1%(χ^(2)=464.573,P=0.000);2019年与2022年医院感染类型最多的均为肺炎,分别占64.7%和81.0%。结论·医院抗菌药物管理水平稳中向好,医护人员对抗菌药物使用的规范性有所提高。医院管理者应完善抗菌药物合理使用信息化建设,强调部门协作,共同制定工作计划,提高抗菌药物合理使用率,提升患者就诊满意度。

从身体学的视角,运用逻辑分析法阐释身体危机的内涵、具体表现及现实后果,深描这一背景下“体育生活方式”促进健康的价值,为体育生活方式成为身体危机消解的唯有门径,提供理论和现实依据,为体育生活方式的践行找到新原点和立足点,阐释体育生活方式构建之人类发展的意义。研究认为:身体“缺场”危机直击社会心理恐慌,身体“认同”危机表现为身体节律失衡指涉理性压抑本能,身体“符号”危机是效用主义关涉道德秩序失范,身体“本体”危机是“我”与身体的割裂。体育成为生活方式重新整合身体与生活的关系:体育的身体在场,舒缓过激的情绪;体育的身体认同,感知生存的意义;体育的身体释放,转载野蛮的本性;体育的自然本位黏合身体与精神。体育规范生活秩序,体育重振生活信心,体育拯救完整人性,体育聚集生活力量,促进健康、文明、觉醒、积极生活方式形成。“体育生活方式”是对潜伏在中国礼仪之邦背面隐藏的一种野蛮的文明化转移,实现身体功能、身体欲望、身体规则的现代性转移,培养身体素养,激发感性身体,告诉人们文明的边界和底线在哪里。
