Aqueous Zn-ion battery has emerged as one of the most prospective energy storage devices due to its low cost,high safety,and eco-friendliness.However,Zn-ion batteries are bottlenecked by significant capacity fading during long-term cycling and poor performance at high current rates.Here,we report an available cooperation of multivariate manganese oxides@carbon hybrids(MnO_(2)/MnO@C and MnO_(2)/Mn_(3)O_(4)@C)via a plasma-assisted design as an attractive Zn-ion cathode.Among them,the MnO_(2)/MnO@C cathode exhibits a reversible specific capacity of 165 m Ah g^(-1)over 200 cycles at a high rate of 0.5 A g^(-1),and possesses great rate performance with high capacities of 110 and 100 m Ah g^(-1)at a high rate of 0.8 and 1 A g^(-1),respectively.The good cathode performance significantly results from the facile charge transfer and ions(Zn^(2+)and H^(+))insertion in the manganese oxides/carbon hybrids featuring phase stability behavior in the available cooperation of multivalence and carbon conductive substrates.This work will promote the Zn-manganese dioxide system for the design of low-cost and high-performance aqueous rechargeable Zn-ion batteries.

采用液相剥离法制备多层石墨烯(MLG)及MLG/Fe_(2)O_(3)复合纳米材料,将MLG,MLG/Fe_(2)O_(3)及MLG+Fe_(2)O_(3)直接添加至钛合金与钢的滑动界面上,通过干滑动摩擦磨损实验测试TC11合金的摩擦磨损行为。采用X射线衍射仪、激光拉曼光谱仪、扫描电子显微镜、3D激光扫描显微镜及能谱仪对磨损表面及亚表面的结构、形貌、成分进行分析。结果表明:只添加MLG时,TC11合金磨损失重及摩擦因数的变化趋势与未添加时类似,但磨损更严重。磨面上只含金属Ti,呈现出黏着痕迹、塑性撕裂、犁沟等黏着、磨粒磨损特征,基体发生塑性变形。添加MLG/Fe_(2)O_(3)复合和MLG+Fe_(2)O_(3)机械混合纳米材料时,磨损失重及摩擦因数在一定滑动转数范围内始终保持极低值,处于0附近。磨面上留有MLG和Fe_(2)O_(3)等物相,摩擦层为双层结构,呈现出典型的黑色、灰色区域。转数增至25000转时,添加复合材料时形成的双层摩擦层消失,转变为严重磨损,而添加混合材料时形成的双层摩擦层仍稳定存在。单独的MLG不能改善钛合金的摩擦磨损性能,在含Fe_(2)O_(3)摩擦层基础上添加MLG,形成的双层摩擦层兼具润滑和承载功能,可显著提高钛合金的减摩性和抗磨性。机械混合添加剂诱导形成的双层摩擦层中,因MLG层多且相对含量较高,钛合金表现出更为优异的摩擦学性能。

Enabled by the advances in aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),atomic-resolution real space imaging of materials has allowed a direct structure-property investigation.Traditional ways of quantitative data analysis suffer from low yield and poor accuracy.New ideas in the field of computer vision and machine learning have provided more momentum to harness the wealth of big data and sophisticated information in STEM data analytics,which has transformed STEM from a localized characterization technique to a macroscopic tool with intelligence.In this review article,we discuss the prime significance of defect topology and density in two-dimensional(2D)materials,which have proved to be a powerful means to tune a wide range of properties.Subsequently,we systematically review advanced data analysis methods that have demonstrated promising prospects in analyzing STEM data,particularly for identifying structural defects,with high throughput and veracity.A unified framework for atomic structure identification is also summarized.

Four groups of numerical models of Brazilian tests on rock-shotcrete interfaces were successfully conducted by PFC2D. The tensile strength and Young’s modulus of shotcrete were considered. Six different undulations of rock-shotcrete interface were set up. The influences of multiple parameters on the bearing characteristics of the rock-shotcrete interface were studied. The results showed that a better support performance can be obtained by increasing the Young’s modulus of shotcrete rather than the tensile strength of shotcrete. For different tensile strength and Young’s modulus, the increase of sawtooth height has different effects on the support performance. The failure mechanism of the rock-shotcrete interfaces was analysed in detail. The stress shielding effect and stress concentration effect caused by the shape characteristics of rock-shotcrete interface were observed. The influence of these parameters on the overall support performance should be fully considered in a reasonable support design.

The advances of manufacturing techniques,such as additive manufacturing,have provided unprece-dented opportunities for producing multiscale structures with intricate latticed/cellular material microstructures to meet the increasing demands for parts with customized functionalities.However,there are still difficulties for the state-of-the-art multiscale topology optimization(TO)methods to achieve manufacturable multiscale designs with cellular materials,partially due to the disconnectivity issue when tiling material microstructures.This paper attempts to address the disconnectivity issue by extending component-based TO methodology to multiscale structural design.An effective linkage scheme to guarantee smooth transitions between neighboring material microstructures(unit cells)is devised and investigated.Associated with the advantages of components-based TO,the number of design variables is greatly reduced in multiscale TO design.Homogenization is employed to calculate the effective material properties of the porous materials and to correlate the macro/structural scale with the micro/material scale.Sensitivities of the objective function with respect to the geometrical parameters of each component in each material microstructure have been derived using the adjoint method.Numerical examples demonstrate that multiscale structures with well-connected material microstructures or graded/layered material microstructures are realized.

Improved SLIC Segmentation Algorithm for Artificial Structure Images

Simple linear iterative cluster(SLIC) is widely used because controllable superpixel number, accurate edge covering, symmetrical production and fast speed of calculation. The main problem of the SLIC algorithm is its under-segmentation when applied to segment artificial structure images with unobvious boundaries and narrow regions. Therefore, an improved clustering segmentation algorithm to correct the segmentation results of SLIC is presented in this paper. The allocation of pixels is not only related to its own characteristic, but also to those of its surrounding pixels.Hence, it is appropriate to improve the standard SLIC through the pixels by focusing on boundaries. An improved SLIC method adheres better to the boundaries in the image is proposed, by using the first and second order difference operators as magnified factors. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves an excellent boundary adherence for artificial structure images. The application of the proposed method is extended to images with an unobvious boundary in the Berkeley Segmentation Dataset BSDS500. In comparison with SLIC, the boundary adherence is increased obviously.

An appropriate co-catalyst can significantly promote the photocatalytic efficacy, but this has been seldom studied in the visible-light photocatalysis combined with ozone, namely photocatalytic ozonation. In this work, a dendritic bismuth vanadium tetraoxide (BiVO4) material composited with highly dispersed MnOv nanoparticles was synthesized, and its catalytic activity is 86.6% higher than bare BiVO4 in a visible light and ozone combined process. Catalytic ozonation experiments, ultraviolet- visible (UV-Vis) diffuse reflectance spectra and photoluminescence spectra jointly indicate that MnOA plays a triple role in this process. MnOv strengthens the light adsorption and promotes the charge separation on the composite material, and it also shows good activity in catalytic ozonation. The key reactive species in this process is OH, and various pathways for its generation in this process is proposed. This work provides a new direction of catalyst preparation and pushes forward the application of photocatalytic ozonation in water treatment.

Synthesis and fluorescent properties in complexes of Eu( Ⅲ), Tb( Ⅲ), and Sm( Ⅲ) with β-diketone and 2,2′-bipyridine

Three new rare earth ternary complexes, RE(PB)3bpy (RE=Sm3+, Eu3+, and Tb3+), were synthesized by the reaction of 1-(p-phenylethynylphenyl)-1,3-butanedione (HPB) and 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) with rare earth chloride RECl3, respectively, in alcohol solution. The compositions were characterized by means of infrared (IR) spectra, chemical analysis, elemental analysis, and thermodynamic analysis. Luminescent properties of the three complexes were studied. At room temperature, under UV light excitation, the Sm3+, Eu3+, and Tb3+ complexes exhibit characteristic emission of the central ions. The fluorescence spectra show that the fluorescence emission intensity of Eu3+ complex is the strongest. The narrow strongest emission band of Eu3+ complex is considered to be a valuable material with bright red fluorescence.

Activated carbon enhanced ozonation of oxalate attributed to HO·oxidation in bulk solution and surface oxidation: Effect of activated carbon dosage and pH

Ozonation of oxalate in aqueous phase was performed with a commercial activated carbon（AC）in this work. The effect of AC dosage and solution pH on the contribution of hydroxyl radicals（HOU） in bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface to the removal of oxalate was studied. We found that the removal of oxalate was reduced by tert-butyl alcohol（tBA） with low dosages of AC,while it was hardly affected by tBA when the AC dosage was greater than 0.3 g/L. tBA also inhibited ozone decomposition when the AC dosage was no more than 0.05 g/L, but it did not work when the AC dosage was no less than 0.1 g/L. These observations indicate that HOUin bulk solution and oxidation on the AC surface both contribute to the removal of oxalate. HOU oxidation in bulk solution is significant when the dosage of AC is low, whereas surface oxidation is dominant when the dosage of AC is high. The oxalate removal decreased with increasing pH of the solution with an AC dosage of 0.5 g/L. The degradation of oxalate occurs mainly through surface oxidation in acid and neutral solution, but through HOUoxidation in basic bulk solution. A mechanism involving both HOUoxidation in bulk solution and surface oxidation was proposed for AC enhanced ozonation of oxalate.

By calculating the hourly standard deviation of the first-order differences of the horizontal geomagnetic com- ponent minute data, a new index Vr to represent the variation rate of the geomagnetic field was introduced. Vr-indices show similar trends in the temporal change at different observatories and have simultaneous peak values at the observatories cov- ering a large span geographically, which reveals that the source of geomagnetic disturbances represented by Vr is in the mag- netosphere. Based on the comparison among Vr, Kp and ap, it is found that generally Vr changes linearly with Kp and ap, which means that the rapid changes of magnetic field usually exist together with magnetic disturbances. But there are excep- tions. As Vr can be easily produced by individual observatory in quasi real time and is more sensitive to the variation rate of geomagnetic field rather than the field itself, it can be expected to serve for monitoring or predicting the geomagnetic-induced event in a quick and intuitive way.
