Relationship between hydrogenation degree and pyrolysis performance of jet fuel

Understanding the relationship between the chemical composition and pyrolysis performance of endothermic hydrocarbon fuel(EHF) is of great significance for the design and optimization of advanced EHFs. In this work, the effect of deep hydrogenation on the pyrolysis of commercial RP-3 is *** with different hydrogenation degrees were obtained by the partially and completely catalytic hydrogenation and their pyrolysis performances were investigated using an apparatus equipped with an electrically heated tubular reactor. The results show that with the increase of hydrogenation degree, fuel conversion almost remains constant during the pyrolysis process(500-650°C, 4 MPa);however, the heat sink increases slightly, and the anti-coking performance significantly improves, which are highly related to their H/C ratios. Detailed characterisations reveal that the difference of the pyrolysis performance can be ascribed to the content of aromatics and cycloalkanes: the former are prone to initiate secondary reactions to form coking precursors, while the latter could act as the hydrogen donor and release hydrogen, which will terminate the radical propagation reactions and suppress the coke deposition. This work should provide the guidance for upgrading EHFs by modulating the composition of EHFs.

Ultrathin lead-free double perovskite cesium silver bismuth bromide nanosheets

Two-dimensional (2D) lead halide perovskites nanostructures have drawn great fundamental interest and displayed excellent properties for various optoelectronic applications. However, the toxicity of lead remains a concern for their large-scale utilizations. Bismuth halide double perovskites stand out as a class of promising candidates for lead-free halide perovskites. In this work, we demonstrate the first synthesis of lead-free 2D halide double perovskite nanosheets. The synthesized Cs2AgBiBr6 nanosheets exhibited thicknesses in the range of 3–5 nm and lateral dimensions of ∼ 200 nm. The nanosheets showed a strong absorption peak centered at ∼ 430 nm and the photoluminescence emission observed at ∼ 630 nm. We also explored dimensionality control from zero-dimensional nanocubes to 2D nanosheets and investigated the preferential growth of Cs2AgBiBr6 over other related compounds such as Cs3Bi2Br9 and CsAgBr2. Our study reveals that Cs2AgBiBr6 nanosheets are interesting 2D material for potential optoelectronic applications and provides a guideline for the controllable synthesis of multi-component compounds with tunable morphology, dimensionality and phase.

Detection time analysis for the multiple-user cooperative spectrum sensing scheme in cognitive radio networks

In this paper, a novel multiple-user cooperative spectrum sensing （MCSS） scheme is proposed to achieve the spatial diversity gains for cognitive radio （CR） networks, where only the best relay, selected among all the candidate relays in accordance with the quality of channel conditions, is utilized to cooperatively detect the primary user. Closed-form expressions of detection time for the traditional non-cooperative and the proposed MCSS schemes are derived over Rayleigh fading channels. In addition, numerical experimentations are conducted to make a performance comparison between the noncooperative sensing and our scheme. The result shows that by exploiting the multiple-user cooperation, the detection time is reduced greatly and moreover, diversity gains obtained by the MCSS scheme increase with a rise in the number of candidate relays.

Effects of Cr Content and Annealing Temperature on Microstructure and Wear Characteristics of Cast Ausferrite Nodular Iron

The effects of Cr content and annealing temperature on abrasive wear characteristics of cast ausferrite nodular iron were investigated with Suga type abrasive wear tester. The surface morphology and Vickers hardness of the tested samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, digital microscope and Vickers hardness tester. The results show that the cast ausferrite nodular iron could be obtained by alloying with Cr in the as-cast ductile cast iron and permanent mold casting, and the bainite content in the matrix increased with increasing Cr content. However, the decomposition of bainite took place during annealing at 500 °C to 800 °C; especially, at 800 °C, the bainite transformed into a mixture of fine lamellar pearlite and ferrite matrix structure. The wear loss of specimens was reduced with increasing Cr content in the cast ausferrite nodular iron. The wear loss of the sample cast ausferrite nodular iron with 0.4mass% Cr is the least. The wear loss began to increase while the Cr content is 0.6mass%. The wear loss of annealed ductile irons at different annealing temperatures was higher than that of as-cast samples. During the abrasive wear, the shear stress transformed austenite to martensite, and the hardness of specimens increased and the wear resistance of as-cast ductile cast iron was improved.

Cooperative Beamforming for Multi-Relay Networks with Limited Feedback

In this paper, we consider a multi-relay cooperative communication network that consists of a source node transmitting to its destination with the help of multiple decode-and- forward (DF) relays. Specifically, the DF relays that succeed in decoding the source signal are allowed to re-transmit their decoded results simultaneously to the destination in a cooperative beamforming manner. In order to carry out the cooperative beamforming, the destination needs to send the quantized channel state information (CSI) to the relays through a limited feedback channel in the face of channel quantization errors (CQE). We propose a CQE oriented multi-relay beamforming (MRB) scheme, denoted CQE-MRB for short, for the sake of improving the throughput of relay-destination transmissions. An effective throughput defined as the difference between the transmission rate and the feedback rate is used to measure an outage probability of the source-destination transmission. Simulation results demonstrate that the outage performance of proposed CQEMRB scheme is improved substantially with an increasing number of relays. Moreover, it is shown that the number of channel quantization bits can be further optimized to minimize the outage probability of proposed CQE-MRB scheme.

It is still a lack of bifunctional catalysts for ammonia oxidation reaction(AOR)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)due to their different reaction *** this work,P is doped into PtZn alloy by calcination with NaH_(2)PO_(2) as P source to induce the lattice tensile strain of Pt and the electronic interaction between P and Zn,which optimizes the AOR and HER activity *** sample with the optimal P content can drive the AOR peak current density of 293.6 mA·mgPt^(-1),which is almost 2.7 times of *** HER,the overpotential at^(-1)0 mA·cm^(-2) is only 23 mV with Tafel slope of 34.1 mV·dec^(-1).Furthermore,only 0.59 V is needed to obtain 50 mA·mgPt^(-1) for ammonia electrolysis under a two-electrode ***,this work shows an ingenious method to design bifunctional catalysts for ammonia electrolysis.

A series of bisthienylethenes containing imidazole and imidazolium derivatives have been prepared and the products have been characterized by means of NMR and *** photochromic and fluorescent switch properties have been investigated by UV–vis absorption spectra and fluorescence *** fluorescent emissions of these kinds of photochromic compounds can be simply modulated by varying the imidazole groups,which shows that these compounds may have potential application in the design of fluorescent photochromic materials.

Ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma of the jaws: Report of two cases and a literature review

BACKGROUND Ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma(GCOC) is a rare malignant odontogenic epithelial tumor with features of benign calcifying odontogenic cysts. Herein, we report two new cases of GCOC and systematically review the previous *** SUMMARY In case 1, a 46-year-old man complained of painless swelling of the right maxilla for 3 years, with a 1-mo history of hemorrhinia in the right nasal cavity. In case 2,a 72-year-old man was referred to our hospital with a chief complaint of painful swelling of the right mandible. Initially, the preliminary diagnoses were ameloblastomas. Thus, the two patients underwent resection of the tumor under general anesthesia. Finally, immunohistochemical examination confirmed the diagnosis of GCOC. The patient in case 1 was followed for 2 years, with no evidence of recurrence. However, the patient in case 2 was lost to *** GCOC is a rare malignant odontogenic epithelial tumor with high *** extensive resection is necessary for the definitive treatment of GCOC.
