Background and objective:ST13, is the gene encoding the HSP70 interacting protein (HIP). Previous research has shown that ST13 mRNA and protein levels are down-regulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. This study aims at the role of ST13 in the proliferation and migration of CRC cells. Methods:The transcript level of ST13 in different CRC cell lines was evaluated by quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). ST13-overexpressed and ST13-knockdown CRC cells were constructed respectively by lentiviral transduction, followed by 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, plate colony formation, cell-cycle analysis, and migration assays to evaluate the influence of ST13 on proliferation and migration in vitro. Moreover, a mouse xenograft study was performed to test in vivo tumorigenicity of ST13-knockdown CRC cells. Results: Lentivirus-mediated overexpression of ST13 in CRC cells in-hibited cell proliferation, colony formation, and cell migration in vitro. In contrast, down-regulation of ST13 by lentiviral-based short hairpin RNA (shRNA) interference in CRC cells significantly increased cell proliferation and cloning efficiency in vitro. In addition, down-regulation of ST13 expression significantly increased the tumorigenicity of CRC cells in vivo. Conclusions:ST13 gene is a proliferation regulator that inhibits tumor growth in CRC and may affect cell migration.

AIM: To investigate the role of signal transduction and activation of transcription 4(STAT4) in the development and progression of human hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS: Recent genetic investigations have identified that a genetic variant of STAT4 is associated with hepatitis b virus(Hb V)-related HCC. The level of STAT4 in 90 HCC patients was examined via Western blot and immunohistochemical analyses. The correlation between STAT4 expression and the clinicopathological characteristics of the patients was analyzed. The level of STAT4 expression in the HCC liver tissues was significantly lower than that in the non-HCC liver tissues and correlated with tumor size, histological grade of HCC and serum hepatitis b surface antigen level in HCC patients. The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS. Furthermore, si RNA oligos targeting STAT4 were employed to investigate the influence of STAT4 RNA interference on HCC cell physiology. based on Cell Counting Kit-8 and flow cytometric assays, we found that depletion of STAT4 expression significantly enhanced the proliferation of L02 ***: STAT4 protein expression was significantly lower in HCC tissues than in normal liver tissues. Immunohistochemistry followed by statistical analysis revealed that the expression of STAT4 negatively correlated with Ki67 expression(r = 0.851; P < 0.05) and positively correlated with maximal tumor size(P < 0.05), Hb V(P = 0.012) and histological grade(P < 0.05). Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed significant differences in the survival curves between HCC patients expressing low and high levels of STAT4 and Ki67(P < 0.05). based on a multivariate Cox proportional hazard model, STAT4 expression was an independent prognostic indicator for HCC patients who underwent curative resection. In vitro, following the release of L02 cell lines from serum starvation, the expression of STAT4 was downregulated, and transfection of L02 cells with si RNA targeting STAT4 inhibited cell proliferation.C

The accurate measurement of the fill level in the ball mill has not been resolved because of the interplay of many variable factors, which led the mill to be operated under the uneconomical condition and lost a lot of energy. At present, some methods, such as vibration method and acoustic method, have been applied for measuring the fill level by the researchers. Aiming at the problem of the traditional methods for measuring the fill level, that is, the feature variables of the fill level suffer the influences of the ball load and the water content of the coal, a novel method to measure the fill level is proposed and a possible relation between the fill level and the angular position of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell is investigated. The angular positions of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell for different fill level cases are calculated theoretically under two assumptions, respectively. Meanwhile the charge motions of the mill for different fill level cases are simulated with the discrete element method （DEM）. And the simulation results are verified by comparing the motion trajectories of steel balls and power draft of the mill. The simulated movement trajectories of the outmost layer steel balls in the mill are monitored and analyzed to obtain the angular positions of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell. Both the results of the theoretical calculation and the 3D DEM simulation show that the position of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell moves to a lower angular positions as the fill level decreasing, which provides a new idea for measuring the filllevel accurately.

We study the single-photon blockade(1 PB),two-photon blockade(2 PB),and photon-induced tunneling(PIT)effects in a cavity–atom optomechanical system in which a two-level atom is coupled to a single-model cavity field via a twophoton *** analyzing the eigenenergy spectrum of the system,we obtain a perfect 1 PB with a high occupancy probability of single-photon excitation,which means that a high-quality and efficient single-photon source can be ***,PIT often occurs in many cases when we consider 2 PB in analogy to 1 *** addition,we find that a 2 PB region will present in the optomechanical system,which can be proved by calculating the correlation function of the model analytically.

The exact measurement of the fill level is the key and basic problem for automatic control and optimized operation of the coal pulverizing system. Because the ball mill pulverizing system is non-linearity, long time delay and time-varying, the reliable and effective method for measuring the fill level was lacked at present. In order to reduce the influence by various factors on measuring the fill level and improve the measuring accuracy of the fill level, a novel characteristic variable is proposed. A set of wireless transmission device was designed to record vibration signals, and an accelerometer with high accuracy and large measuring range was mounted directly on the mill shell to pick up the vibration signals from the mill shell. A series of data acquisition experiments under various ball load and water content of coal conditions were conducted in an industrial mill to investigate the relationship between the fill level and the angular position of the maximum vibration point of the mill shell through the analysis of the vibration signals. The analytical result of test data clearly show that the angular position of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell decreases as the fill level increases. At the same time, comparing with the traditional characteristic variable, the feature variable of the fill level proposed in this paper is not subject to the effect of the ball load and water content of coal, which provides a new solution and reliable basis for the accurate measurement of the fill level.

Herein,styryl phosphonate monoester(SPE) was synthesized and first introduced as rare earth *** solvent extraction of lanthanum(Ⅲ) from nitrate solution using styryl phosphonate mono-isooctyl ester(SPE108),di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid(D2 EHPA) and 2-ethylhexyl phosphonic acidmono-2-ethylhexyl ester(EHEHPA) as extractants was *** effects of experimental parameters including equilibrium time,extractant concentration,aqueous pH,phase ratio and salt concentration on the extraction process were *** results indicate that the extraction ability and capacity of the extractants follow the order:SPE108> D2 EHPA> ***’s more,the extraction process is less affected by ammonium sulfate in the aqueous phase with *** results of the separation between lanthanum and adjacent lanthanides(Ce,Pr,Nd,Sm) show that SPE108 can separate lanthanides efficiently at low *** extraction mechanism of SPE108 is proved to be similar to D2 EHPA,and the density functional theory(DFT) calculation results infer that SPE108 exhibits superior extraction ability due to its strong electron-accepting ability.

A new mixing equation for bed material composition in bed form dominant conditions

Vertical mixing beneath the bed surface and its effect on sediment composition has long been underestimated. This paper proposes a mixing equation to illustrate the temporal and spatial variations of bed material composition for bed form dominant rivers. A continuous mass conservation equation for elevation-specific nonuniform bed material composition is initially presented. A vertical mixing equation is finally derived as a diffusion-type partial differential equation with a source term characterized by a vertical diffusion coefficient and the geometric dimensions of bed forms. Coupled with boundary conditions, this equation is further developed in a vertical mixing model at the scale of bed forms, in which the variations of bed material composition are clearly illustrated. The equation accounts for vertical exchange fluxes driven by bed form migration and their effect on bed material composition, which helps elucidate the mixing mechanism. In application to riverbed degradation, the proposed equation is capable to describe armoring development in consideration of the interior mixing, which provides more satisfying predictions for bed surface materials. The new mixing equation helps gain insight into predicting the variations of bed material composition during morphological changes.

Under the assumption that' is a strongly convex weakly Khler Finsler metric on a complex manifold M, we prove that F is a weakly complex Berwald metric if and only if F is a real Landsberg *** result together with zhong(2011) implies that among the strongly convex weakly Kahler Finsler metrics there does not exist unicorn metric in the sense of Bao(2007). We also give an explicit example of strongly convex Kahler Finsler metric which is simultaneously a complex Berwald metric, a complex Landsberg metric,a real Berwald metric, and a real Landsberg metric.
