A Quick Calculation Method for Radiation Pattern of Submillimeter Telescope with Deformation and Displacement

Radiation pattern captures the electromagnetic performance of reflector antennas,which is significantly affected by the deformation of the primary reflector due to gravity and the displacement of the secondary *** the design process of large reflector antennas,a substantial amount of time is often dedicated to iteratively adjusting structural parameters and validating electromagnetic *** improve the efficiency of the design process,we first propose an approximate calculation method of optical path difference(OPD)for the deformation of the primary reflector under gravity and the displacement of the secondary *** an OPD fitting function based on the modified Zernike polynomials is proposed to capture the phase difference of radiation over the aperture plane,based on which the radiation pattern will be obtained quickly by the aperture field integration *** experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed quick calculation method for analyzing the radiation pattern of a 10.4 m submillimeter telescope antenna at its highest operating frequency of 856 *** comparison with the numerical simulation method based on GRASP(which is an antenna electromagnetic analysis tool combining physical optics(PO)and physical theory of diffraction(PTD)),the quick calculation method reduces the time for radiation pattern analysis from more than one hour to less than two ***,the quick calculation method exhibits excellent accuracy for the figure of merit(FOM)of the radiation ***,the proposed quick calculation method can obtain the radiation pattern with high speed and *** to the time-consuming numerical simulation method(PO and PTD),it can be employed for quick analysis of the radiation pattern for the lateral displacement of the secondary reflector and the deformation of the primary reflector under gravity in the design process of a reflector antenna.

Insight into the Role of Isolated Gold Atoms-Ceria Conjunction in Catalyzing the Water-Gas Shift Reaction

As the promising catalysts for the water-gas shift(WGS)reaction,the activity of Au-CeO_(2) composites is susceptible to the aggregation size and electronic state of Au *** reports were extensively focused on the discrepancy between nonmetallic Au and metallic Au nanoparticles,whereas the understanding of the authentic role of the isolated Au atoms was ***,we investigated the catalytic behavior and structural information over two types of Au/CeO_(2) catalysts,in which the predominant conjunctions were isolated Au1-CeO_(2) and Aun-CeO_(2),*** on comprehensive characterizations,particularly by in-situ Raman and in-situ DRIFTS,we found that the isolated Au atoms were responsible for enhancing the reducibility of the CeO_(2) *** CO adsorption ability on the isolated Au sites was significantly inferior to clustered Au atoms,especially at relatively high temperatures(>200°C).As a result,the boosted O vacancy on the isolated Au1-CeO_(2) conjunctions could improve the H2O activation ability for the Au-CeO_(2) catalysts and demonstrate a comparable activity to the clustered Aun-CeO_(2) *** work might deepen understanding of the catalytic function for the isolated Au1 site within Au/CeO_(2) systems while catalyzing the WGS reaction.

Combination of a reaction cell and an ultra-high vacuum system for the in situ preparation and characterization of a model catalyst

An in-depth understanding of the structure-activity relationship between the surface structure,chemical composition,adsorption and desorption of molecules,and their reaction activity and selectivity is necessary for the rational design of high-performance ***,we present a method for studying catalytic mechanisms using a combination of in situ reaction cells and surface science *** proposed system consists of four parts:preparation chamber,temperatureprogrammed desorption(TPD)chamber,quick load-lock chamber,and in situ reaction *** preparation chamber was equipped with setups based on the surface science techniques used for standard sample preparation and characterization,including an Ar+sputter gun,Auger electron spectrometer,and a low-energy electron *** a well-defined model catalyst was prepared,the sample was transferred to a TPD chamber to investigate the adsorption and desorption of the probe molecule,or to the reaction cell,to measure the catalytic activity.A thermal desorption experiment for methanol on a clean Cu(111)surface was conducted to demonstrate the functionality of the preparation and TPD ***,the repeatability of the in situ reaction cell experiment was verified by CO_(2) hydrogenation on the Ni(110)*** a reaction pressure of 800 Torr at 673 K,turnover frequencies for the methanation reaction and reverse water-gas shift reaction were 0.15 and 7.55 Ni atom^(-1) s^(-1),respectively.

Limb salvage surgery of patients with osteosarcoma sustaining pathologic fractures

Objective: The aim of this study was to report the oncological result of the treatment of 12 patients with osteosarcoma sustaining pathologic fracture. Methods: There were 9 male and 3 female patients, the average age was 17.6 years (ranged, 11–34 years). All patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, wide margin resection was achieved and skeletal reconstruction was done with locally designed and custom-manufactured prosthesis. Follow-up examination was carried out at an average of 36 months (range from 12–94 months). Results: Nine patients had survived and of these 8 patients were free from disease while one patient was alive with disease. The functional result (using the 30-point rating system of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society) was excellent in three (25%), good in six (50%), fair in three (25%). Conclusion: The performance of a limb-salvage procedure in a patient with pathologic fracture, particularly for one that unites following chemotherapy, does not significantly increase the risk of local recurrence or survival.

The Perturbed Compound Poisson Risk Model with Proportional Investment

In this paper, the insurance company considers venture capital and risk-free investment in a constant proportion. The surplus process is perturbed by diffusion. At first, the integro-differential equations satisfied by the expected discounted dividend payments and the Gerber-Shiu function are derived. Then, the approximate solutions of the integro-differential equations are obtained through the sinc method. Finally, the numerical examples are given when the claim sizes follow different distributions. Furthermore, the errors between the explicit solution and the numerical solution are discussed in a special case.

Repair of bile duct defect with degradable stent and autologous tissue in a porcine model

AIM： To introduce and evaluate a new method to re- pair bile duct defect with a degradable stent and au- tologous tissues. METHODS： Eight Ba-Ma mini-pigs were used in this study, Experimental models with common bile duct （CBD） defect （0,5-1,0 cm segment of CBD resected） were established and then CBD was reconstructed by duct to duct anastomosis with a novel degradable stent made of poly [sebacic acid-co-（1,3-propanediol）-co- （1,2-propanediol）]. In addition, a vascularized greater omentum was placed around the stent and both ends of CBD. Cholangiography via gall bladder was per- formed for each pig at postoperative months 1 and 3 to rule out stent translocation and bile duct stricture. Complete blood count was examined pre- and post- operatively to estimate the inflammatory reaction. Liver enzymes and serum bilirubin were examined pre- and post-operatively to evaluate the liver function. Five pigs were sacrificed at month 3 to evaluate the healing of anastomosis. The other three pigs were raised for one year for long-term observation. RESULTS： All the animals underwent surgery success- fully. There was no intraoperative mortality and no bile leakage during the observation period, The white blood cell counts were only slightly increased on day 14 and month 3 postoperatively compared with that before operation, the difference was not statistically significant （P = 0.652）. The plasma level of alanine aminotrans- ferase on day 14 and month 3 postoperatively was also not significantly elevated compared with that before operation （P = 0.810）. Nevertheless, the plasma level of y-glutamyl transferase was increased after opera- tion in both groups （P = 0.004）, especially 2 wk after operation. The level of serum total bilirubin after opera- tion was not significantly elevated compared with that before operation （P = 0.227）, so did the serum direct bilirubin （P = 0.759）. Chalcogen-dependent catalytic properties of RuX2 (X = S/Se/Te) nanoparticles decorated carbon nanofibers for hydrogen evolution in acidic and alkaline media

Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),with the general formula MX_(2)(M=Mo/W/Fe/Co/Ni,etc.;X=S/Se/Te),have attracted extensive research interests for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Compared with numerous studies on noble-metal-free TMDs,the chalcogen-dependent HER catalytic properties of noble-metal-based TMDs are lack of sufficient research ***,a facile electrospinning-assisted synthetic strategy is proposed to synthesize ruthenium dichalcogenides(RuX_(2),X=S/Se/Te)nanoparticles decorated carbon nanofibers(CNFs).Benefiting from the identical nanofibrous morphology and exposed crystal planes of RuX_(2)(111),the catalytic activities of RuX_(2)@CNFs samples were investigated and compared in a fair and direct *** electrochemical measurements coupled with density functional theory calculations were carried out to probe their intrinsic HER catalytic activities,resulting in the catalytic activity order of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs in acidic media and that of RuS_(2)@CNFs>RuTe_(2)@CNFs>RuSe_(2)@CNFs in alkaline *** superior catalytic performance of RuS_(2)@CNFs mainly stems from the relative lower HER energy barriers and thereby the higher intrinsic catalytic activity of RuS_(2)(111),leading to ultralow overpotentials of 44 and 9 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2) in acidic and alkaline media,***_(2)(111)is endowed with the more optimized Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption(ΔGH*)than RuTe_(2)(111),but RuTe_(2)(111)shows enhanced catalytic property for H_(2)O dissociation and OH-desorption than RuSe_(2)(111),therefore,resulting in the altered catalytic activity sequences for RuSe_(2) and RuTe_(2) in acidic and alkaline media.

Overexpression of AMPD2 indicates poor prognosis in colorectal cancer patients via the Notch3 signaling pathway

BACKGROUND AMPD2 is a critical enzyme catalyzing smooth muscle energy supply and metabolism;however,its cellular biological function and clinical implication in colorectal cancer(CRC)are largely *** To clarify the role of AMPD2 in CRC and study the pathway and prognostic value of its *** AMPD2 expression was analyzed by integrated bioinformatics analysis based on TCGA data sets and immunohistochemistry in tissue microarrays,and the correlation between AMPD2 expression and clinicopathological parameters,Notch3 expression,and prognostic features was *** Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis were then performed to investigate the regulatory pathway *** effects of AMPD2 expression on CRC cells and Notch3 protein expression were investigated by downregulation and overexpression of *** AMPD2 mRNA was significantly overexpressed in tumor tissue when compared with normal tissue in a cohort of the TCGA-COAD data *** function enrichment analysis indicated that the Notch pathway strongly correlated with AMPD2 expression,and that the expression of Notch3 and JAG2 mRNA was positively associated with AMPD2 in CRC *** vitro,AMPD2 overexpression markedly reduced Notch3 protein expression in CRC cells,while knockdown of AMPD2 showed the opposite *** addition,protein expression was significantly up-regulated in our CRC cohort as indicated by tissue microarray *** expression of AMPD2 protein correlated with advanced depth of tumor and poor ***,high AMPD2 expression in CRC tissues was an indicator of poor outcome for CRC *** AMPD2 is commonly overexpressed in CRC,and acts as a metabolism oncogene to induce CRC progression through the Notch signaling ***,AMPD2 may be a novel prognostic biomarker for CRC.

Polymer density-functional theories(PDFTs)have distinct advantages in the study of polyelectrolyte(PE)systems over experiments and molecular *** we give an introductory review of some PDFTs recently developed for PE *** start with a general formalism of PDFTs and its relation to the widely used polymer self-consistent field theory(SCFT),then explain the various correlations that are neglected in SCFT but can be accounted for in PDFTs,including those due to the excluded-volume interaction and chain connectivity of uncharged polymers,the electrostatic correlations of small ions,and the chain correlations in *** also list some applications of PDFTs for PE systems,and finally give some perspectives on future *** hope that our review can attract more researchers to apply and further develop PDFTs as a promising class of theoretical and computational tools.
