Global trends in diabetic eye disease research from 2012 to 2021

Diabetic eye disease refers to a group of eye complications that occur in diabetic patients and include diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, diabetic cataracts, and diabetic glaucoma. However, the global epidemiology of these conditions has not been well characterized. In this study, we collected information on diabetic eye disease-related research grants from seven representative countries––the United States, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and France––by searching for all global diabetic eye disease journal articles in the Web of Science and Pub Med databases, all global registered clinical trials in the Clinical Trials database, and new drugs approved by the United States, China, Japan, and EU agencies from 2012 to 2021. During this time period, diabetic retinopathy accounted for the vast majority(89.53%) of the 2288 government research grants that were funded to investigate diabetic eye disease, followed by diabetic macular edema(9.27%). The United States granted the most research funding for diabetic eye disease out of the seven countries assessed. The research objectives of grants focusing on diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema differed by country. Additionally, the United States was dominant in terms of research output, publishing 17.53% of global papers about diabetic eye disease and receiving 22.58% of total citations. The United States and the United Kingdom led international collaborations in research into diabetic eye disease. Of the 415 clinical trials that we identified, diabetic macular edema was the major disease that was targeted for drug development(58.19%). Approximately half of the trials(49.13%) pertained to angiogenesis. However, few drugs were approved for ophthalmic(40 out of 1830;2.19%) and diabetic eye disease(3 out of 1830;0.02%) applications. Solar-driven interfacial evaporation from seawater is considered an effective way to alleviate the emerging freshwater crisis because of its green and environmentally friendly ***,developing an evaporator with high efficiency,stability,and salt resistance remains a key ***,with an internal photothermal conversion efficiency of 100%,has received tremendous research interest as a photothermal ***,the process to prepare the MXene with monolayer is inefficient and generates a large amount of“waste”MXene sediments(MS).Here,MXene sediments is selected as the photothermal material,and a three-dimensional MXene sediments/poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium alginate aerogel evaporator with vertically aligned pores by directional freezing method is innovatively *** vertical porous structure enables the evaporator to improve water transport,light capture,and high evaporation *** swabs and polypropylene are used as the water channel and support,respectively,thus fabricating a self-floating *** evaporator exhibits an evaporation rate of 3.6 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)under one-sun illumination,and 18.37 kg m^(-2)of freshwater is collected in the condensation collection device after 7 h of outdoor sun *** evaporator also displays excellent oil and salt *** research fully utilizes“waste”MS,enabling a self-floating evaporation device for freshwater collection.

Diagnostic Value of GDF10 for the Tumorigenesis and Immune Infiltration in Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Catalytic asymmetric dearomative azo-Diels–Alder reaction of 2-vinlyindoles

Due to the high electrophilic nature of azo-dienophiles, azo-Diels–Alder proceeds rapidly even without the need of a catalyst and is therefore regarded as the “click reaction”. This spontaneity causes strong background reaction and poses a daunting challenge to chemists for developing the catalytic asymmetric version. Reported herein is the first catalytic asymmetric dearomative azo-Diels–Alder reaction between2-vinylindoles and triazoledione. This protocol makes use of the high energy barrier of dearomatization to avert the strong background reaction of azo-Diels–Alder reaction, allowing the implementation of the projected reaction at ambient temperature. Density functional theory calculations have been performed to gain insights into the reaction mechanism and the origins of the enantioselectivity. By using this method,a variety of tetracyclic indole derivatives have been readily prepared in good to excellent yields and with excellent diastereo-and enantio–selectivities(33 examples, up to 97% yield and >99% ee, >20:1 dr).

In this paper,we discuss the related properties of some particular derivations in semihoops and give some characterizations of ***,we prove that every Heyting algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of all multiplicative derivations and show that every Boolean algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of all implicative ***,we show that the sets of multiplicative and implicative derivations on bounded regular idempotent semihoops are in oneto-one correspondence.

Polymer-to-Monomers Chemically Recyclable Poly(imide-imine)Plastics with Extreme-Condition Resistance and Flame Retardancy

Polyimides are a family of high-tech plastics that have irreplaceable applications in the fields of aerospace,defense,and opto-electronics,but polyimides are difficult to be reprocessed and recycled at the end of their service life,resulting in a significant waste of ***,it is of great significance to develop recyclable polyimides with comparable properties to the commercial ***,we report a novel polymer-to-monomers chemically recyclable poly(imide-imine)(PtM-CR-PII)plastic,synthesized by cross-linking the amine-terminated aromatic bisimide monomer and the hexa-vanillin terminated cyclophosphazene monomer via dynamic imine *** PtM-CR-PII plastic exhibits comparable mechanical and thermal properties as well as chemical stability to the commercial *** PtM-CR-PII plastic possesses a high Young’s modulus of≈3.2 GPa and a tensile strength as high as≈108 MPa,which also exhibits high thermal stability with a glass transition temperature of≈220℃.Moreover,the PtM-CR-PII plastic exhibits outstanding waterproofness,acid/alkali-resistance,and solvent-resistance,its appearance and mechanical properties can be well maintained after long-term soaking in water,highly concentrated acid and base,and various organic ***,the cyclophosphazene moieties endow the PtM-CR-PII plastic with excellent flame *** PtM-CR-PII plastic exhibits the highest UL-94 flame-retarding rating of V-0 and a limiting oxygen index(LOI)value of 45.5%.Importantly,the PtM-CR-PII plastic can be depolymerized in an organic solvents-acid mixture medium at room temperature,allowing easy separation and recovery of both monomers in high *** recovered pure monomers can be used to regenerate new PtM-CR-PII plastics,enabling sustainable polymer-monomers-polymer circulation.

Optimal proportioning of iron ore in sintering process based on improved multi-objective beluga whale optimisation algorithm

Proportioning is an important part of sintering,as it affects the cost of sintering and the quality of sintered *** address the problems posed by the complex raw material information and numerous constraints in the sintering process,a multi-objective optimisation model for sintering proportioning was established,which takes the proportioning cost and TFe as the optimisation ***,an improved multi-objective beluga whale optimisation(IMOBWO)algorithm was proposed to solve the nonlinear,multi-constrained multi-objective optimisation *** algorithm uses the con-strained non-dominance criterion to deal with the constraint problem in the ***,the algorithm employs an opposite learning strategy and a population guidance mechanism based on angular competition and two-population competition strategy to enhance convergence and population *** actual proportioning of a steel plant indicates that the IMOBWO algorithm applied to the ore proportioning process has good convergence and obtains the uniformly distributed Pareto ***,compared with the actual proportioning scheme,the proportioning cost is reduced by 4.3361¥/t,and the TFe content in the mixture is increased by 0.0367%in the optimal compromise ***,the proposed method effectively balances the cost and total iron,facilitating the comprehensive utilisation of sintered iron ore resources while ensuring quality assurance.
