Glioma is a common tumor originating in the brain that has a high mortality ***(TMZ)is the first-line treatment for high-grade ***,a large pro-portion of gliomas are resistant to TMZ,posing a great challenge to their *** the study,the specific functions and mechanism(s)by which cortistatin(CORT)regulates TMZ resis-tance and glioma progression were *** decreased expression of CoRT was detected in glioma tissues,and highly expressed CORT was associated with a better survival rate in pa-tients with *** overexpression notably decreased the capacity of glioma cells to pro-liferate and migrate in vitro and to form tumors in *** overexpression also markedly suppressed the viability and enhanced the apoptosis of TMZ-resistant U251 cells by regulating MGMT,p21,and Puma ***,CORT overexpression reduced the resistance of gliomas to TMZ in *** expression Was negatively correlated with MGMT expression in both glioma tissues and cells,and it was found that CORT inhibited NF-kB pathway activation in glioma cells,thereby inhibiting MGMT *** conclusion,CORT regulates glioma cell growth,migration,apoptosis,and TMZ resistance by weakening the activity of NF-kB/p65 and thereby regulating MGMT *** CORT/NF-kB/MGMT axis might be regarded as a molecular mechanism contributing to the resistance of glioma to *** data also suggest that CORT regulates the viability and metastatic potential of glioma cells,independent of its effects on TMZ resistance,providing evidence of novel therapeutic targets for glioma that should be evaluated infurther studies.

A deep reinforcement learning(DRL)based approach for well-testing interpretation to evaluate reservoir parameters

Parameter inversions in oil/gas reservoirs based on well test interpretations are of great significance in oil/gas *** well test interpretations based on artificial intelligence are the most promising to solve the problem of non-unique *** this work,a new deep reinforcement learning(DRL)based approach is proposed for automatic curve matching for well test interpretation,by using the double deep Q-network(DDQN).The DDQN algorithms are applied to train agents for automatic parameter tuning in three conventional well-testing *** addition,to alleviate the dimensional disaster problem of parameter space,an asynchronous parameter adjustment strategy is used to train the ***,field applications are carried out by using the new DRL *** show that step number required for the DDQN to complete the curve matching is the least among,when comparing the naive deep Q-network(naive DQN)and deep Q-network(DQN).We also show that DDQN can improve the robustness of curve matching in comparison with supervised machine learning *** DDQN algorithm to perform 100 curve matching tests on three traditional well test models,the results show that the mean relative error of the parameters is 7.58%for the homogeneous model,10.66%for the radial composite model,and 12.79%for the dual porosity *** the actual field application,it is found that a good curve fitting can be obtained with only 30 steps of parameter adjustment.

Multi-objective optimal dispatch of household flexible loads based on their real-life operating characteristics and energy-related occupant behavior

A model-based optimal dispatch framework was proposed to optimize operation of residential flexible loads considering their real-life operating characteristics,energy-related occupant behavior,and the benefits of different stakeholders.A pilot test was conducted for a typical *** to the monitored appliance-level data,operating characteristics of flexible loads were identified and the models of these flexible loads were developed using multiple linear regression and K-means clustering ***,a data-mining approach was developed to extract the occupant energy usage behavior of various flexible loads from the monitored *** behavior of appliance usage,such as daily turn-on times,turn-on moment,duration of each operation,preference of temperature setting,and flexibility window,were determined by the developed data-mining *** on the established flexible load models and the identified occupant energy usage behavior,a many-objective nonlinear optimal dispatch model was developed aiming at minimizing daily electricity costs,occupants’dissatisfaction,CO_(2) emissions,and the average ramping index of household power *** model was solved with the assistance of the NSGA-III and TOPSIS *** indicate that the proposed framework can effectively optimize the operation of household flexible *** with the benchmark,the daily electricity costs,CO_(2) emissions,and average ramping index of household power profiles of the optimal plan were reduced by 7.3%,6.5%,and 14.4%,respectively,under the TOU tariff,while those were decreased by 9.5%,8.8%,and 23.8%,respectively,under the dynamic price *** outputs of this work can offer guidance for the day-ahead optimal scheduling of household flexible loads in practice.

Steering control in autonomous vehicles using deep reinforcement learning

A novel deep reinforcement learning-based steering control method of autonomous vehicles is proposed. A distortionless compressing method of action space is presented. Convolutional neural networks(CNNs) are designed to serve as an action policy. Driver experience is investigated and modeled to optimize policy of new actions exploration. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better robustness and smoothness. Moreover, it is applicable to different roads, velocities or wire-control systems.

Sustainable energy conversion and storage provide feasible approaches towards green energy solutions and carbon *** high cost and complex fabrication process of advanced energy nanomaterials,however,has impeded the practical application of emerging sustainable *** direct use of earth-abundant natural minerals which contain active elements for effective catalysis and energy storage should be a promising approach to achieve affordable sustainable energy supply and green fuel ***,as typical examples of activating natural minerals for electrocatalysis,two common minerals,pyrite and chalcopyrite,are activated via a one-step phase transformation *** a facile thermal reduction process,the minerals are completely transformed into active pyrrhotite(FeS)and haycockite(Cu_(4)Fe_(5)S_(8))*** thermal reduction resulting phase transformation can lead to significant surface disordering and can contribute to the catalytic activity by offering favourable electronic structure for intermediates adsorption,abundant surficial active centres,and substantial surface redox *** activated minerals are examined for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)*** obtained haycockite phase delivers the best performance towards acidic HER and alkaline *** phase optimization is performed via loading a low percentage of iridium nanoclusters on the haycockite phase deposited onto a carbon cloth substrate,through which an overpotential as low as 310 mV for achieving 10 mA cmand a small Tafel slope of 55.6 m V dec-1are recorded for alkaline *** work demonstrates the feasibility of the direct use of cost-effective natural resources for addressing the current energy-related issues and paves a way to reach affordable practical emerging sustainable technologies.

On Levine–O'Sullivan's Sequence and Its Conjecture

Let ql = 1, and qn be the largest value of （k ＋ 1）（n - qk） for all integers 1 ≤ k≤ n - 1 with n ≥ 2. The sequence Q -- {q1, q2, q3,...} is called Levine-O＇Sullivan sequence. In this paper, we use the combinational and analysis skill and the mathematical induction to study the asymptotic properties of qn, and give an interesting asymptotic formula for it. This solved a conjecture proposed by Professor Chen Yonggao.

Carbon isotopic compositions of 1,2,3,4-tetramethylbenzene in marine oil asphaltenes from the Tarim Basin:Evidence for the source formed in a strongly reducing environment

Although 1-alkyl-2,3,6-trimethylbenzenes and a high relative amount of 1,2,3,4-tetramethylbenzene have been detected in marine oils and oil asphaltenes from Tabei uplift in the Tarim Basin, their bio-logical sources are not determined. This paper deals with the molecular characteristics of typical ma-rine oil asphaltenes from Tabei and Tazhong uplift in the Tarim Basin and the stable carbon isotopic signatures of individual compounds in the pyrolysates of these asphaltenes using flash pyrolysis-gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (PY-GC-MS) and gas chromatograph-stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer (GC-C-IRMS), respectively. Relatively abundant 1,2,3,4-tetramethylbenzene is detected in the pyrolysates of these marine oil asphaltenes from the Tarim Basin. δ 13C values of 1,2,3,4-tetrame-thylbenzene in the pyrolysates of oil asphaltenes vary from-19.6‰ to-24.0‰, while those of n-alkanes in the pyrolysates show a range from-33.2‰ to-35.1‰. The 1,2,3,4-tetramethylbenzene in the pyro-lysates of oil asphaltenes proves to be significantly enriched in 13C relative to n-alkanes in the pyro-lysates and oil asphaltenes by 10.8‰―15.2‰ and 8.4‰―13.4‰, respectively. This result indicates a contribution from photosynthetic green sulfur bacteria Chlorobiaceae to relatively abundant 1,2,3,4-tetramethylbenzene in marine oil asphaltenes from the Tarim Basin. Hence, it can be speculated that the source of most marine oil asphaltenes from the Tarim Basin was formed in a strongly reducing water body enriched in H2S under euxinic conditions.
