Even-odd layer-dependent multiferroic in freestanding rare-earth orthorhombic perovskite

Freestanding oxide perovskites possess strong interlayer coupling between adjacent atomic layers,thus exerting a determinative effect on the magnetism and ferroelectricity of these atomic-scale ***,we propose an effective strategy to manipulate magnetism and ferroelectricity in freestanding rare-earth orthorhombic perovskite via modulation of layer *** performing first-principles calculations,an even-odd oscillation is demonstrated in few-layer GdAlO_(3)perovskite(GAP).Specifically,odd-layer systems with charged atomic layers are ferromagnetic polar metals,while even-layer systems are antiferromagnetic ferroelectric *** thickness-dependent magnetic phase transition originates from carrier doping,as rationalized by the Stoner ***,we demonstrate the promotion of in-plane ferroelectricity via the concurrent application of two distinct antiferrodistortive displacements,each driven by formation and breaking of *** multiferroic phases may emerge in other transition metal oxide perovskites supporting multiple valence states,e.g.,few-layer Gd MO_(3)(M=V,Cr,Mn,and Ni).This work puts forward a strategy for layer thickness engineering of magnetism and ferroelectricity in 2D oxide perovskite multiferroic materials.

Scaling analysis is widely used to design scaled-down experimental facilities through which the prototype phenomena can be effectively *** a new method,dynamic system scaling(DSS)must be verified as a rational and applicable method.A DSS method based on dilation transformation was evaluated using single-phase natural circulation in a simple rectangular *** scaled-down cases were constructed based on two parameters—length ratio and dilation number—and the corresponding transient processes were simulated using the Relap5 computational *** results show that this DSS method can simulate the dynamic flow characteristics of scaled-down *** transient deviation of the temperature difference and mass flow rate of the scaled cases decrease with increases in the length ratio and dilation *** distortion of the transient temperature difference is smaller than that of the mass flow;however,the overall deviation is within a reasonable range.

To understand the dynamical system scaling(DSS)analysis theory,the applicability of DSSβ-andω-strain transformation methods for the scaling analysis of complex loops was explored.A simplified model consisting of two loops was established based on the primary and secondary sides of a nuclear reactor,andβ-andω-strain transformation methods were used to ana-lyze the single-phase natural circulation in the primary *** comparison with the traditional method,simplified DSSβ-andω-strain methods were developed based on the standard scaling *** strain parameters in these four methods were modified to form multiple groups of scaled-down *** transient process of the natural circulation was simulated using the Relap5 code,and the variation in the dynamic flow characteristics with the strain numbers was obtained using different scaling *** results show that both the simplified and standard DSS methods can simulate the dynamic characteristics of natural circulation in the primary *** scaled-down cases in the simplified method exhibit the same geometric scaling and correspond to small core power *** contrast,different scaled-down cases in the standard DSS method correspond to different geometric scaling criteria and require more *** dynamic process of natural circula-tion can be simulated more accurately using the standard DSS method.

Free-standing covalent organic framework(COFs)nanofilms exhibit a remarkable ability to rapidly intercalate/de-intercalate Li^(+) in lithium-ion batteries,while simultaneously exposing affluent active sites in *** development of these nanofilms offers a promising solution to address the persistent challenge of imbalanced charge storage kinetics between battery-type anode and capacitor-type cathode in lithium-ion capacitors(LICs).Herein,for the first time,custom-made COFBTMB-TP and COFTAPB-BPY nanofilms are synthesized as the anode and cathode,respectively,for an all-COF nanofilm-structured *** COFBTMB-TP nanofilm with strong electronegative–CF3 groups enables tuning the partial electron cloud density for Li^(+) migration to ensure the rapid anode kinetic *** thickness-regulated cathodic COFTAPB-BPY nanofilm can fit the anodic COF nanofilm in the *** to the aligned 1D channel,2D aromatic skeleton and accessible active sites of COF nanofilms,the whole COFTAPB-BPY//COFBTMB-TP LIC demonstrates a high energy density of 318 mWh cm^(−3) at a high-power density of 6 W cm^(−3),excellent rate capability,good cycle stability with the capacity retention rate of 77%after *** COFTAPB-BPY//COFBTMB-TP LIC represents a new benchmark for currently reported film-type LICs and even film-type *** being comprehensively explored via ex situ XPS,7Li solid-state NMR analyses,and DFT calculation,it is found that the COFBTMB-TP nanofilm facilitates the reversible conversion of semi-ionic to ionic C–F bonds during lithium ***-TP exhibits a strong interaction with Li^(+) due to the C–F,C=O,and C–N bonds,facilitating Li^(+) desolation and absorption from the *** work addresses the challenge of imbalanced charge storage kinetics and capacity between the anode and cathode and also pave the way for future miniaturized and wearable LIC devices.

Three dimensional(3-D)imaging algorithms with irregular planar multiple-input-multiple-output(MIMO)arrays are discussed and compared with each *** on the same MIMO array,a modified back projection algorithm(MBPA)is accordingly proposed and four imaging algorithms are used for comparison,back-projection method(BP),back-projection one in time domain(BP-TD),modified back-projection one and fast Fourier transform(FFT)-based MIMO range migration algorithm(FFT-based MIMO RMA).All of the algorithms have been implemented in practical application scenarios by use of the proposed imaging *** to the practical applications,MIMO array-based imaging system with wide-bandwidth properties provides an efficient tool to detect objects hidden behind a *** MIMO imaging radar system,composed of a vector network analyzer(VNA),a set of switches,and an array of Vivaldi antennas,have been designed,fabricated,and ***,these algorithms have been applied to measured data collected in different scenarios constituted by five metallic spheres in the absence and in the presence of a wall between the antennas and the targets in simulation and pliers in free space for experimental ***,the focusing properties and time consumption of the above algorithms are compared.

To the Editor:Meat is an important source of protein and could be roughly classied into red and white *** meat,which encompasses poultry,seafood such assh and shrimp,and reptiles,etc.,is characterized by its pale color when *** meat is basically mammalian meat,including domestic animal meats,such as pork,beef,lamb,and wild animal meat in certain regions,such as kangaroos,seals,and *** mammalian meat appears red due to the presence of myoglobin in skeletal *** clinical presentations of mammalian meat allergy comprise two types of allergic reactions,immediatetype and delayed-type,although both are mediated by immunoglobulin E(IgE).The immediate-type hypersensitivity manifests as allergic symptoms occurring shortly after ingestion of red meat and is primarily triggered by serum albumin and immunoglobulin which are the major allergenic *** is the classic pattern of food *** delayed-type hypersensitivity is characterized by delayed onset of allergic symptoms 2-6 h after red meat ingestion and is mediated by oligosaccharideα-gal-specic IgE which is a recently discoveried pattern of food allergy.

We have obtained the constraints on the density dependence of the symmetry energy from neutron-skin thickness data by parityviolating electron scatterings and neutron-star observables using a Bayesian approach,based on the standard Skyrme-HartreeFock(SHF)model and its extension as well as the relativistic mean-field(RMF)*** the neutron-skin thickness data(neutron-star observables)mostly constrain the symmetry energy at subsaturation(suprasaturation)densities,they may more or less constrain the behavior of the symmetry energy at suprasaturation(subsaturation)densities,depending on the energy-density functional *** showing the final posterior density dependence of the symmetry energy,we also compare the slope parameters of the symmetry energy at 0.10 fm-3as well as the values of the symmetry energy at twice saturation density from three effective nuclear *** present work serves as a comparison study based on relativistic and non-relativistic energy-density functionals,for constraining the nuclear symmetry energy from low to high densities using a Bayesian approach.

Broody behavior is regulated by hypothalamic prolactin secretion,which seriously affects egg production in poulty *** studies have provided evidence that animal behavior is governed by dynamic bidirectional communication between specific gut bacteria and their host via the brain-gut-microbiome ***,little research focused on how the gut microbiota influence broody behavior in *** this study,Zhedong white geese in laying and brooding phases were *** differentially abundant bacteria in cecum were detected between brooding and laying geese through metagenomic analyses and 16S rRNA sequencing(P<0.05),and Bacteroides fragilis was specifically identified as a key driver species in the brooding ***,the serum metabolites were quantified,and the 313 differentially abundant metabolites were found between the two groups of different physiological *** were primarily enriched in the tryptophan metabolism *** correlation analyses revealed there was a significant positive correlation between *** abundance and the context of 11 tryptophan metabolism-related metabolites(such as serotonin,etc.)in broody geese,which hinted that those tryptophan metabolites might be produced or driven by ***,the serum hormone levels were also *** found there was a positive correlation between *** abundance and content of ***,prolactin secreted by the pituitary gland was greater in brooding geese than that in laying geese,which was also highly correlated with *** *** result implied that *** could promote the secretion of prolactin by the pituitary ***,the current study findings provided the information on gut microbiota influencing broody behavior,*** produced or driven more serum serotonin,and stimulated the pituitary gland to secret more prolactin,which potentially offered a new enlightenment for the intervention of broody behavior in pou
