Expression level of miR-155 in peripheral blood

Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression level of miR-155 and the severity of coronary lesion,and explore the action mechanism.Methods:Peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) were isolated form blood simple from patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI),unstable angina(UAP).stable angina(SAP) and chesl pain syndrome(CPS).RT-PCR was performed to analysis the expression level of miR-155 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells,plasma and RAW264.7 macrophagocyte.MTT was used to analyze the cell viability of OxLDL treated RAW264.7 macrophagocyte.Results:The expression level of miR-155 in blood sample from coronary heart disease patients was much lower than in the blood sample of non-coronary heart disease(P<0.05).The level of miR-155 in PBMCs was much higher in the blood sample from CPS group than the other three group,and the level of miR-155 in plasma was higher in the CPS group than in the UAP and the AMI group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression level of miR-155 in PBMCs is positively associated with the level in the plasma(r=0.861,P=0.000).OxLDL can induce the expression of miR-155 in RAW264.7 macrophagocyte.decrease the cell viability of RAW264.7 macrophagocyte.and with the concentration and the treatment time of OxLDL increased,the effort become more obvious.The inhibition effort of OxLDL to RAW264.7macrophagocyte with high miR-155 expression is much lower than the control group,and it is statistically significant after treated for 12.24 and 48 h.Conclusions:miR-155 plays a protective role in the progression of atherosclerosis,and it may be achieved by reducing the apoptosis effort of OxLDL to RAW264.7 macrophagocyte.

Effect of safety valve types on the gas venting behavior and thermal runaway hazard severity of large-format prismatic lithium iron phosphate batteries

The safety valve is an important component to ensure the safe operation of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the effect of safety valve type on the thermal runaway(TR)and gas venting behavior of LIBs,as well as the TR hazard severity of LIBs,are not known.In this paper,the TR and gas venting behavior of three 100 A h lithium iron phosphate(LFP)batteries with different safety valves are investigated under overheating.Compared to previous studies,the main contribution of this work is in studying and evaluating the effect of gas venting behavior and TR hazard severity of LFP batteries with three safety valve types.Two significant results are obtained:(Ⅰ)the safety valve type dominates over gas venting pressure of battery during safety venting,the maximum gas venting pressure of LFP batteries with a round safety valve is 3320 Pa,which is one order of magnitude higher than other batteries with oval or cavity safety valve;(Ⅱ)the LFP battery with oval safety valve has the lowest TR hazard as shown by the TR hazard assessment model based on gray-fuzzy analytic hierarchy process.This study reveals the effect of safety valve type on TR and gas venting,providing a clear direction for the safety valve design.

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is a highly aggressive malignancy with a heterogeneous nature,which makes prognosis prediction and treatment determination difficult.Inflammation is now recognized as one of the hallmarks of cancer and plays an important role in the aetiology and continued growth of tumours.Inflammation also affects the prognosis of GC patients.Recent reports suggest that a number of inflammatory-related biomarkers are useful for predicting tumour prognosis.However,the importance of inflammatory-related biomarkers in predicting the prognosis of GC patients is still unclear.AIM To investigate inflammatory-related biomarkers in predicting the prognosis of GC patients.was constructed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression model based on the GEO database.GC patients from the GSE26253 cohort were used for validation.Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were used to determine the independent prognostic factors,and a prognostic nomogram was established.The calibration curve and the area under the curve based on receiver operating characteristic analysis were utilized to evaluate the predictive value of the nomogram.The decision curve analysis results were plotted to quantify and assess the clinical value of the nomogram.Gene set enrichment analysis was performed to explore the potential regulatory pathways involved.The relationship between tumour immune infiltration status and risk score was analysed via Tumour Immune Estimation Resource and CIBERSORT.Finally,we analysed the association between risk score and patient sensitivity to commonly used chemotherapy and targeted therapy agents.RESULTS A prognostic model consisting of three inflammatory-related genes(MRPS17,GUF1,and PDK4)was constructed.Independent prognostic analysis revealed that the risk score was a separate prognostic factor in GC patients.According to the risk score,GC patients were stratified into high-and low-risk groups,and patients in the high-risk group had significantly worse prognoses according to age

A novel linear stepping piezoelectric stacks actuator is proposed,which contains three drive units and can achieve bidirectional movements with high resolution and large-stroke by applying with signals to each unit with a defined sequence signal.The structure and operating principle of the piezoelectric stacks actuator are presented in detail.A prototype was fabricated,and a series of experiments were conducted to reveal its working performances.The experimental results indicated that the actuator can change the distance of the stepping motion by adjusting the value of the driving signals,and the speed of the actuator is proportional to the operating frequency within a certain range of frequency.The actuator achieves two-way movements with a position precision of 400nm.The maximum load of the actuator is 20 N,and the moving speed can reach 0.83 mm/s.The actuator has a broad application potential on the micro operation,optical engineering,precision positioning and other cutting-edge fields.

Predictive modeling for postoperative delirium in elderly patients with abdominal malignancies using synthetic minority oversampling technique

BACKGROUND Postoperative delirium,particularly prevalent in elderly patients after abdominal cancer surgery,presents significant challenges in clinical management.AIM To develop a synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE)-based model for predicting postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal cancer patients.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study,we analyzed data from 611 elderly patients who underwent abdominal malignant tumor surgery at our hospital between September 2020 and October 2022.The incidence of postoperative delirium was recorded for 7 d post-surgery.Patients were divided into delirium and non-delirium groups based on the occurrence of postoperative delirium or not.A multivariate logistic regression model was used to identify risk factors and develop a predictive model for postoperative delirium.The SMOTE technique was applied to enhance the model by oversampling the delirium cases.The model’s predictive accuracy was then validated.RESULTS In our study involving 611 elderly patients with abdominal malignant tumors,multivariate logistic regression analysis identified significant risk factors for postoperative delirium.These included the Charlson comorbidity index,American Society of Anesthesiologists classification,history of cerebrovascular disease,surgical duration,perioperative blood transfusion,and postoperative pain score.The incidence rate of postoperative delirium in our study was 22.91%.The original predictive model(P1)exhibited an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.862.In comparison,the SMOTE-based logistic early warning model(P2),which utilized the SMOTE oversampling algorithm,showed a slightly lower but comparable area under the curve of 0.856,suggesting no significant difference in performance between the two predictive approaches.CONCLUSION This study confirms that the SMOTE-enhanced predictive model for postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal tumor patients shows performance equivalent to that of traditional methods,effectively addressing data imbal

A Weakly-Supervised Crowd Density Estimation Method Based on Two-Stage Linear Feature Calibration

In a crowd density estimation dataset,the annotation of crowd locations is an extremely laborious task,and they are not taken into the evaluation metrics.In this paper,we aim to reduce the annotation cost of crowd datasets,and propose a crowd density estimation method based on weakly-supervised learning,in the absence of crowd position supervision information,which directly reduces the number of crowds by using the number of pedestrians in the image as the supervised information.For this purpose,we design a new training method,which exploits the correlation between global and local image features by incremental learning to train the network.Specifically,we design a parent-child network(PC-Net)focusing on the global and local image respectively,and propose a linear feature calibration structure to train the PC-Net simultaneously,and the child network learns feature transfer factors and feature bias weights,and uses the transfer factors and bias weights to linearly feature calibrate the features extracted from the Parent network,to improve the convergence of the network by using local features hidden in the crowd images.In addition,we use the pyramid vision transformer as the backbone of the PC-Net to extract crowd features at different levels,and design a global-local feature loss function(L2).We combine it with a crowd counting loss(LC)to enhance the sensitivity of the network to crowd features during the training process,which effectively improves the accuracy of crowd density estimation.The experimental results show that the PC-Net significantly reduces the gap between fullysupervised and weakly-supervised crowd density estimation,and outperforms the comparison methods on five datasets of Shanghai Tech Part A,ShanghaiTech Part B,UCF_CC_50,UCF_QNRF and JHU-CROWD++.

Preparation and characterization of Rb-doped TiO_(2) powders for photocatalytic applications

TiO_(2)nanoparticles doped with different concentrations of Rb were prepared by sol–gel method.The crystal structures of samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).It was confirmed by the Rietveld refinement method that the as-prepared samples crystallize in anatase phase and Rb doping induces expansion and distortion of the crystal lattice.Compared with the pure TiO_(2),the Rb-doped nanoparticles have smaller crystal size and better dispersibility.Degradation rate of methylene blue was used to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of Rb–TiO_(2).It indicated that doping Rb into TiO_(2)can effectively improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO_(2)and the mechanisms were discussed in detail.When using the sample doped with 0.20%Rb,methylene blue degraded with the fastest rate(97%within 60 min).

In situ tracking of the lithiation and sodiation process of disodium terephthalate as anodes for rechargeable batteries by Raman spectroscopy

Organic compounds represent an appealing group of electrode materials for rechargeable batteries due to their merits of biomass,sustainability,environmental friendliness,and processability.Disodium terephthalate(Na_(2)C_(8)H_(4)O_(4),Na_(2)TP),an organic salt with a theoretical capacity of 255 mAh·g^(-1),is electroactive towards both lithium and sodium.However,its electrochemical energy storage(EES)process has not been directly observed via in situ characterization techniques and the underlying mechanisms are still under debate.Herein,in situ Raman spectroscopy was employed to track the de/lithiation and de/sodiation processes of Na2TP.The appearance and then disappearance of the–COOLi Raman band at 1625 cm^(-1) during the de/lithiation,and the increase and then decrease of the–COONa Raman band at 1615 cm^(-1) during the de/sodiation processes of Na2TP elucidate the one-step with the 2Li+or 2Na+transfer mechanism.We also found that the inferior cycling stability of Na2TP as an anode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)than lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)could be due to the larger ion radium of Na+than Li+,which results in larger steric resistance and polarization during EES.The Na2TP,therefore,shows greater changes in spectra during de/sodiation than de/lithiation.We expect that our findings could provide a reference for the rational design of organic compounds for EES.

Background, Motivation and Objective Planetary exploration has been always paid abundant attention in the world and is an important constituent part of space science missions. The development of planetary rovers, which are the carrier and actuator of scientific instruments for planetary exploration missions, is of great significance on exploring and developing unknown planets further. The piezoelectric actuated tracked mobile system, which includes a piezoelectric transducer and a metal track, is driven by friction force between the piezoelectric transducer and the metal track. Compared with traditional tracked rovers, the tracked system has many advantages such as simple structure, high mechanical integration, fast response, environmental adaptability and high efficiency. But the wide range of ambient temperature under space environment has great effects on characteristic of the tracked system. The property of material varied with ambient temperature, as a consequence the vibration amplitude and the resonant frequency of the piezoelectric transducer are changed. In addition, the conditions of the contact interface between the metal track and the transducer will be affected. In order to study the thermal adaptability of the tracked system and provide a basis for optimization of the tracked system operating in extreme temperature environment, it’s necessary to research ambient temperature effects on the tracked system. Statement of Contribution/Methods A temperature experimental system was established and a theoretical model was developed for investigating the effects of ambient temperature on characteristics of the tracked system. In the analysis, the temperature-dependent mechanical properties of materials, thermal stress and their combination was considered to investigate the effect of ambient temperature on the vibration amplitude and resonant frequency of the piezoelectric transducer by the finite element method. 5q spinal muscular atrophy (5qSMA) is an autosomal recessive neuromuscular disorder caused by the lack of the survival motor neuron (SMN) protein encoded by the SMN1 gene, located at 5q11.2-q13.3.[1] The incidence is 1/10,000-1/6000 live births, and the mutation carrier rate in China is 1/42.[1] Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is mainly divided into four subtypes: SMA type I, II, III, and IV, based on the motor milestones ever achieved. Types I-III occur in children,[1] which often result in progressive muscular atrophy and weakness as well as multi-system dysfunction, including nutritional and metabolic issues.[2] Children with SMA may have hidden nutritional and lipid imbalances, despite normal body appearance and anthropometric measurements, making it difficult to detect early and intervene. Fewer studies have elucidated both the nutritional status and lipid metabolism in SMA patients,[2] especially in Asia, which may have some of the highest numbers of SMA patients in the world. To inform the development of targeted nutritional management strategies, this study aimed to investigate the nutritional status and serum lipid profile characteristics in children with SMA, based on a hospital-based case-control study in China. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (No. 2019-IRB-171). Written informed consent was obtained from all the patients and their legal guardians.
