The study of antibacterial activity of cationic poly(β-amino ester)regulating by amphiphilic balance

It is well known that cationic polymers have excellent antimicrobial capacity accompanied with high biotoxicity, to reduce biotoxicity needs to decrease the number of cationic groups on polymers, which will influence antimicrobial activity. It is necessary to design a cationic polymer mimic natural antimicrobial peptide with excellent antibacterial activity and low toxicity to solve the above dilemma. Here,we designed and prepared a series of cationic poly(β-amino ester)s(PBAEs) with different cationic contents, and introducing hydrophobic alkyl chain to adjust the balance between antimicrobial activity and biotoxicity to obtain an ideal antimicrobial polymer. The optimum one of synthesized PBAE(hydrophilic cationic monomer:hydrophobic monomer = 5:5) was screened by testing cytotoxicity and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC), which can effectively kill S. aureus and E. coli with PBAE concentration of15 μg/m L by a spread plate bacteriostatic method and dead and alive staining test. The way of PBAE killing bacterial was destroying the membrane like natural antimicrobial peptide observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). In addition, PBAE did not exhibit hemolysis and cytotoxicity. In particular, from the result of animal tests, the PBAE was able to promote healing of infected wounds from removing mature S. aureus and E. coli on the surface of infected wound. As a result, our work offers a viable approach for designing antimicrobial materials, highlighting the significant potential of PBAE polymers in the field of biomedical materials.

At present,the identification of tropical cyclone remote precipitation(TRP)requires subjective participation,leading to inconsistent results among different researchers despite adopting the same identification ***,establishing an objective identification method is greatly *** this study,an objective synoptic analysis technique for TRP(OSAT_TRP)is proposed to identify TRP using daily precipitation datasets,historical tropical cyclone(TC)track data,and the ERA5 reanalysis *** method includes three steps:first,independent rain belts are separated,and those that might relate to TCs'remote effects are distinguished according to their distance from the ***,the strong water vapor transport belt from the TC is identified using integrated horizontal water vapor transport(IVT).Third,TRP is distinguished by connecting the first two *** TRP obtained through this method can satisfy three criteria,as follows:1)the precipitation occurs outside the circulation of TCs,2)the precipitation is affected by TCs,and 3)a gap exists between the TRP and TC rain *** diagnosis analysis,compared with subjective TRP results and backward trajectory analyses using HYSPliT,indicates that OSAT_TRP can distinguish TRP even when multiple TCs in the Northwest Pacific are ***,we applied the OSAT_TRP to select typical TRPs and obtained the synoptic-scale environments of the TRP through composite analysis.

All-perovskite tandem solar cells have the potential to surpass the theoretical efficiency limit of single junction solar cells by reducing thermalization ***,the challenges encompass the oxidation of Sn^(2+)to Sn^(4+)and uncontrolled crystallization kinetics in Sn-Pb perovskites,leading to nonradiative recombination and compositional heterogeneity to decrease photovoltaic efficiency and operational ***,we introduced an ionic liquid additive,1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide (EMIMI) into Sn-Pb perovskite precursor to form low-dimensional Sn-rich/pure-Sn perovskites at grain boundaries,which mitigates oxidation of Sn^(2+)to Sn^(4+)and regulates the film-forming dynamics of Sn/Pb-based perovskite *** optimized single-junction Sn-Pb perovskite devices incorporating EMIMI achieved a high efficiency of 22.87%.Furthermore,combined with wide-bandgap perovskite sub-cells in tandem device,we demonstrate 2-terminal all-perovskite tandem solar cells with a power conversion efficiency of 28.34%,achieving improved operational stability.

Lead-halide perovskite nanoparticles(LHP NPs) are highly promising materials for next-generation displays and solid-state lighting due to their exceptional optical properties. However, their inherent instability presents a significant challenge. Recent advances have demonstrated that optoelectronic devices based on monolayer nanoparticle films exhibit both high luminescence efficiency and long-term *** research demonstrates that mobility limitations and anisotropic alignments in CsPbBr3nanocube monolayer films are key to their stabilization, hindering spontaneous growth through face-to-face fusion and resulting in the formation of connecting necks in a diagonal direction. Introducing laser irradiation confirmed this by significantly accelerating nanocubes growth, increasing mobility, and enhancing local structural ordering, leading to larger and more regularly shaped nanosheets. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy line-scan analyses indicated that laser irradiation did not disrupt the ligand structure. Transmission electron microscopy and correlative cathodoluminescence electron microscopy revealed the effects of post-growth and heterogeneous structures, including enhanced luminescence and inhomogeneous intensity in the nanosheets. These findings deepen the understanding of the post-growth mechanism of monolayer nanoparticles and the structure-emission correlation and highlight the unique role of laser irradiation in directing the formation of well-defined and regular nanostructures.
