Quantification of pancreatic exocrine function of chronic pancreatitis with secretin-enhanced MRCP

AIM:To obtain reference values for pancreatic flow output rate(PFR)and peak time(PT)in healthy volunteers and chronic pancreatitis(CP);to correlate quantification of secretin enhanced magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography(SMRCP)of pancreatic fluid output following secretin with fecal elastase-1(FE-1)***:The present study includes 53 subjects comprised of 17 healthy individuals and 36 patients with CP from April 2011 to January *** 36 patients with CP were divided into three groups of mild CP(n=14),moderate CP(n=19)and advanced CP(n=3)by M-ANNHEIM classification for CP..Fifty-three cases underwent FE-1 test and magnetic resonance imaging using 3.0 T-device(Signa EXCITE,GE Healthcare).Coronal T2-weighted single-shot turbo spin-echo,spiratory triggered,covering the papillae,duodenum and small *** was performed with a heavily T2-weighted fat-suppressed long TE HASTE sequence (thick slab 2D MRCP sequence),repeated every 2 min up to 11 min after 0.1 mL/kg secretin injection(Secrelux,Sanochemia,Germany).FE-1 test used sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)test(***,Germany).RESULTS:A good linear correlation showed between the calculated volume and the actual volume by Phantom ***-three paired Quantification of secretin enhanced magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography(MRCPQ)and FE-1 data sets were *** mean FE-1 of 53 cases was 525.41±94.44μg/g for 17 healthy volunteers,464.95±136.13μg/g for mild CP,301.55±181.55μg/g for moderate CP,229.30±146.60μg/g for advanced ***,there was statistically significant difference in FE-1(P=0.0001)between health and *** mean values of PFR and PT were 8.18±1.11 mL/min,5.76±1.71 min for normal;7.27±2.04 mL/min,7.71±2.55 min for mild CP;4.98±2.57 mL/min,9.10±3.00 min for moderate CP;4.13±1.83 mL/min,12.33±1.55 min for advanced ***,statistically significant difference in PFR(P=0.0001)and PT(P=0.0001)was observed between health and ***,there was correlati

A surface engineering strategy for the stabilization of zinc metal anodes with montmorillonite layers toward long-life rechargeable aqueous zinc ion batteries

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） exhibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）,and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite （MMT） layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high cycling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory（DFT） calculations and water contact angle （CA） tests prove that MMT@Zn anode exhibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn2+and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving excellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm-2and 0.125 m A h cm-2,even exceeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh conditions of 5 m A cm-2and 1.25 m A h *** MMT@Zn||V2O5full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g-1with excellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.

Herein, the de novo synthesis of atropisomeric benzofurans through the Cu/spirocyclic-pyrrolidine-oxazoline(SPDO) complex catalyze asymmetric formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition between quinones and ynamides is explored, producing a range of structurally diverse axially chiral benzofurans in satisfactory yields with good to excellent enantioselectivities. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations were applied to explain the possible reaction mechanism.

Visualization of the protective role of estrogen against female liver fibrosis via an ER viscosity NIR fluorescent probe

Endoplasmic reticulum(ER) viscosity has emerged as a new potential biomarker for hepatic fibrosis(HF). Herein, we report the first ER-targeting viscosity-responsive near-infrared(NIR) fluorescent probe HBT-PP for investigations of HF *** twisted intramolecular charge transfer(TICT) and the excited state intramolecular proton transfer(ESIPT) are combined to endow HBT-PP with the selective response towards viscosity(～62-fold) and a super large stokes shift(～320 nm). HBT-PP mainly targets organelle ER and is able to image the drug-or alcohol-induced viscosity elevation in living cells. Significantly,HBT-PP was successfully applied to visualize the gender difference in HF and the protective role of estrogen in restraining HF progression. Of note, after 10 min of stain with HBT-PP, HF lesions showed a stage-based response, indicating the potential of this probe in fast and early diagnosis of HF. These results clearly demonstrated the promising application of HBT-PP as a new tool for exploring ER viscosity-involved physiological and pathological processes.

Integrating lipidomics and gut microbiota to study the anti-hyperlipidemia effect of Sargentodoxae Caulis extract

Hydrothermal synthesis of CoMoO_4/Co_(1-x)S hybrid on Ni foam for high-performance supercapacitors

Cobalt molybdate/non-stoichiometric cobalt sulfide（CoMoO4/Co1-xS） hybrid was in situ grown on nickel foam by a simple two-step hydrothermal process. The as-prepared CoMoO4/Co1-xS hybrid electrode possessed core-shell nanostructure, large surface area and high specific capacitance of 2250 F g-1 at a current density of 1 A g-1. Using the hybrid as anode and activated carbon（AC） as cathode, an asymmetric supercapacitor of CoMoO4/Co1-xS//AC was fabricated. The optimized supercapacitor had large potential window of 1.6 V and high capacitance of 112 F g-1, resulting in high power density of 804.5 W kg-1 and energy density of 39.8 Wh kg-1. Furthermore, the supercapacitor exhibited an excellent long cycle life along with 86.4% specific capacitance retained after 5000 cycles. The superior performances and good stability of the asymmetric supercapacitor can be attributed to the unique structure of the two components in hybrid, and the positive synergistic effects of the hybrid electrodes. The facile preparation process and excellent performance presented here render the CoMoO4/Co1-xS hybrid as a promising candidate for energy storage device.

Permeability measurement of the fracture-matrix system with 3D embedded discrete fracture model

In this work, we performed the pulse-decay experiment on a fractured shale core and applied the 3 D embedded discrete fracture model(EDFM) to simulate the experiment process. The irregularly rough fracture surface was depicted in detail using a 3 D scanner. Then the fracture surface profile was imported in the discrete fracture network model to simulate the flow process in the fracture-matrix system realistically. History matching was efficiently performed to simultaneously obtain porosity and permeability for the matrix and fracture. Gas properties after applying nanopore confinement were obtained by modifying Sutton's viscosity correlation with sensitivity analysis on the pore diameter ranging from 2 to50 nm. Nanopore confinement results in low matched permeability due to viscosity reduction in the matrix-only porous media. The fracture-matrix system complicates the interpretation of nanopore confinement impact on flow behavior in shale reservoirs. Different scenarios of the highly fractured and matrix-dominated systems were discussed in detail by constructing the digital twin model.
