Effects of groundwater level on vegetation in the arid area of western China

At present,investigation about the relationship between the change of groundwater level and vegetation mostly focuses on specific watersheds,*** in river catchment *** the change of groundwater level on vegetation in the basin or large scale,be urgently *** fill this gap,two typical arid areas in the west of China(Tarim Basin and Qaidam Basin)were chosen the a typical research *** vegetation status was evaluated via normalization difference vegetation index(NDVI)from 2000 to 2016,sourced from MODN1F *** data used to reflect climate change were download from CMDSC(http://***).Groundwater level data was collected from monitor ***,the relationship of vegetation and climate change was established with univariate linear regression and correlation analysis *** show that:Generally,NDVI value in the study area decreased before 2004 then increased in the research *** degradation was observed in the center of the *** area with an NDVI value>0.5 decreased from 12%to 6%between 2000 and *** 2004 to 2014,the vegetation in the study area was gradually *** whole coverage of Qaidam Basin was *** the NDVI around East Taigener salt-lake degraded significantly,from 0.596 to 0.005,2014 and 2016,*** fluctuation of groundwater level is the main reason for the change of surface vegetation coverage during the vegetation degradation in the ***,the average annual precipitation in the study area is low,which is not enough to have a significant impact on vegetation *** annual average precipitation showed an increase trend during the vegetation restoration in the basin,which alleviates the water shortage of vegetation growth in the ***,the dependence of surface vegetation on groundwater is obviously weakened with the correlation index is−*** research results are of some significance to eco-environment protection in the arid area of western Chi

Significantly Enhanced Melt Memory Effect of Metallocene-made Isotactic Polypropylene Containing Talc

The melt memory effect is a widely observed phenomenon in semi-crystalline polymers. In practical applications, various additives are usually introduced into polymers, which may affect their melt memory behavior. In this work, the effect of talc on the melt memory effect of metallocene-made isotactic polypropylene(M-PP) was investigated in detail by using the differential scanning calorimetry. The results indicated that the introduction of talc significantly strengthened the melt memory effect of M-PP. Specifically, the upper limit temperature of Domain II increased from 161 ℃ to 174 ℃, resulting in a substantial widening of the temperature range of Domain IIa from 1 ℃ to 14 ℃. Analysis of the crystal orientation of the M-PP containing talc cooled from various Ts suggested that the remarkably enhanced melt memory effect could be ascribed to the stabilization of oriented nuclei facilitated by talc. This stabilizing effect was likely attributable to the prefreezing effect or the sorption interaction between talc and the M-PP chains.

Existing depth completion methods are often targeted at a specific sparse depth type and generalize poorly across task *** present a method to complete sparse/semi-dense,noisy,and potentially low-resolution depth maps obtained by various range sensors,including those in modern mobile phones,or by multi-view reconstruction *** method leverages a data-driven prior in the form of a single image depth prediction network trained on large-scale datasets,the output of which is used as an input to our *** propose an effective training scheme where we simulate various sparsity patterns in typical task *** addition,we design two new benchmarks to evaluate the generalizability and robustness of depth completion *** simple method shows superior cross-domain generalization ability against state-of-the-art depth completion methods,introducing a practical solution to highqualitydepthcapture onamobile device.

TiO_(2)-based films are one of the most attractive photocatalysts owing to their highly cost-effective ***,most TiO_(2)-based photocatalytic films for dye degradation are in the form of robust films(without flexibility),TiO_(2)coatings on carbon matrix(with leakage risk),or surface-covered TiO_(2)hybrids(not favorite to contact with external molecules).Therefore,the development of durable and highly efficient TiO_(2)photocatalytic films for dye degradation is still ***,we fabricated soft photocatalytic hybrid membranes(TANFs)from TiO_(2)nanotubes(Ti NT)and aramid nanofiber(ANF)by a facile vacuum filtration *** similar morphology and dimension of Ti NT and ANF enable them intricately intertwine with each other in the membrane *** an appropriate mixing ratio,the TANF exhibited significantly improved optical and mechanical *** used for dye degradation,the membrane showed excellent photocatalytic performance and could keep stable activity and integrated state for repeated usage.

An Innovative Coupled Common-Node Discrete Element Method-Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Model Developed with LS-DYNA and Its Applications

The Astrometric Performance of the China Space Station Telescope(CSST)Sky Survey in Extending the Gaia Celestial Reference Frame

The multi-color imaging sky survey conducted by the China Space Station Telescope(CSST)holds significant promise for advancing the development of the celestial reference *** this study,we focus on assessing the astrometric performance of the CSST celestial reference frame(CSST-CRF)in extending the Gaia Celestial Reference Frame 3(Gaia-CRF3).First,the orientation precision of the CSST reference frame is evaluated using a simulated set of extragalactic sources with CSST g magnitudes ranging from 18 to 25 *** estimated orientation uncertainty caused by random error insignificantly affects the alignment between Gaia-CRF3 and the ***,the systematic effect of incomplete CSST sky coverage on the alignment between CSST-CRF and Gaia-CRF3 is discussed by analyzing the differences between the subset of Gaia-CRF3 in the CSST observation region(Gaia-CRF3′)and Gaia-CRF3 as a *** the third International Celestial Reference Frame(ICRF3)S/X band as an intermediate reference frame,the orientation offset between Gaia-CRF3′and GaiaCRF3 is estimated to be 20μ*** offset is marginally larger than the orientation offset between Gaia-CRF3 and the ICRF3,approximately 15μ*** residual spin and glide rate of Gaia-CRF3′are derived from the proper motions,consistent with that of Gaia-CRF3 within the formal ***,we explore the role of CSST in establishing a multi-band celestial reference frame by comparing its limiting magnitude and observation accuracy with existing catalogs in the infrared and ultraviolet *** to its broad wavelength coverage and highprecision measurements,CSST is well-positioned to make significant contributions to the development of a multiband celestial reference frame.

The development of a coal-based synthetic route to produce benzene polycarboxylic acids(BPCAs)is of great importance for the highly efficient utilization of *** this paper,aqueous NaCl^(-)electrolytic system was used to oxidize Zhaotong lignite to prepare *** electrochemical oxidation of lignite in aqueous NaCl solution could produce more BPCAs than that in aqueous NaOH *** aqueous NaCl electrolytic system could in-suit produce a stable OCl^(-),which was synthesized by the combination reaction between Cl_(2)and OH􀀀generated in the anode or cathode,*** in-suit produced OCl^(-)would degrade the organic structures of the lignite dispersing in the electrolyte to generate *** formation of BPCAs could be greatly affected by current density,electrolysis time and the addition amount of NaCl in the electrolytic system,which resulted from that the factors played an important role in the generation of OCl^(-).The coal related model compounds including anthracene and phenanthrene were used to investigate the electrochemical oxidation mechanism of the *** results indicated that the aromatic ring structures in the lignite were attacked by O_(2)•^(-)from the OCl^(-)to afford BPCAs.

Hearing loss and cognitive decline among older adults with atrial fibrillation:the SAGE-AF study

Objective To examine the association between hearing loss and cognitive function cross-sectionally and prospectively among older adults with atrial fibrillation(AF).Methods Patients with AF≥65-year-old(n=1244)in the SAGE(Systematic Assessment of Geriatric Elements)-AF study were recruited from five internal medicine or cardiology clinics in Massachusetts and *** was assessed by a structured questionnaire at *** function was assessed by Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)at baseline and one *** impairment was defined as score≤23 on the *** associations between hearing loss and cognitive function were examined by multivariable adjusted logistic *** Participants with hearing loss(n=451,36%)were older,more likely to be male,and have depressive symptoms than patients without hearing *** baseline,528(42%)participants were cognitively *** with hearing loss were significantly more likely to have cognitive impairment at baseline[adjusted odds ratio(OR)=1.37,95%confidence interval(CI):1.05–1.81].Among the 662 participants who did not have cognitive impairment at baseline and attended the one-year follow-up visit,106(16%)developed incident cognitive *** with,versus those without,hearing loss were significantly more likely to develop incident cognitive impairment at one year(adjusted OR=1.68,95%CI:1.07–2.64).Conclusions Hearing loss is a prevalent but under-recognized factor associated with cognitive impairment in patients with *** for hearing loss may be indicated among these patients to identify individuals at high-risk for adverse outcomes.

Triple Range Imager and POLarimeter(TRIPOL)——a compact and economical optical imaging polarimeter for small telescopes

We report the design concept and performance of a compact, lightweight and economical imaging polarimeter, the Triple Range Imager and POLarimeter(TRIPOL), capable of simultaneous optical imagery and polarimetry. TRIPOL splits the beam in wavelengths from 400 to 830 nm into g′-, r′-and i′-bands with two dichroic mirrors, and measures polarization with an achromatic half-waveplate and a wire grid polarizer. The simultaneity makes TRIPOL a useful tool for small telescopes for the photometry and polarimetry of time variable and wavelength dependent phenomena. TRIPOL is designed for a Cassegrain telescope with an aperture of^1 m. This paper presents the engineering considerations of TRIPOL and compares the expected with observed performance. Using the Lulin 1-m telescope and 100 seconds of integration, the limiting magnitudes are g′~19.0 mag, r′~18.5 mag and i′~18.0 mag with a signal-to-noise ratio of 10, in agreement with design expectation. The instrumental polarization is measured to be^0.3% in the three bands. Two applications, one to the star-forming cloud IC 5146 and the other to the young variable GM Cep, are presented as demonstrations.
