Influence of different magnetic forces on the effect of colonic anastomosis in rats

BACKGROUND Despite much work having been conducted on magnetic compression anastomo-sis(MCA)in the digestive tract,there are no reports on the influence of magnetic force on the anastomosis.AIM To investigate the effect of different magnetic force magnets on the MCA of the digestive tract.METHODS Two groups of magnets of the same sizes but different magnetic forces were designed and produced.A total of 24 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into two groups(powerful magnet group and common magnet group),with 12 rats in each group.Two types of magnets were used to complete the colonic side-to-side anastomosis of the rats.The operation time and magnet discharge time were recorded.The anastomotic specimens were obtained 4 wk after the operation and then the burst pressure and diameter of the anastomosis were measured,and the anastomosis was observed via the naked eye and subjected to histological examination.RESULTS The magnetic forces of the powerful and common magnet groups at zero distance were 8.26 N and 4.10 N,respectively.The colonic side-to-side anastomosis was completed in all 24 rats,and the operation success rate and postoperative survival rate were 100%.No significant difference was noted in the operation time between the two groups.The magnet discharge time of the powerful magnet group was slightly longer than that of the common magnet group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.513).Furthermore,there was no statistical difference in the burst pressure(P=0.266)or diameter of magnetic anastomosis(P=0.095)between the two groups.The gross specimens of the two groups showed good anastomotic healing,and histological observation indicated good mucosal continuity without differences on healing.CONCLUSION In the rat colonic side-to-side MCA model,both the powerful magnet with 8.26 N and the common magnet with 4.10 N showed no significant impact on the anastomosis establishment process or its effect.

BACKGROUND The magnetic compression technique has been used to establish an animal model of tracheoesophageal fistula(TEF),but the commonly shaped magnets present limitations of poor homogeneity of TEF and poor model control.We designed a Tshaped magnet system to overcome these problems and verified its effectiveness via animal experiments.AIM To investigate the effectiveness of a T-shaped magnet system for establishing a TEF model in beagle dogs.METHODS Twelve beagles were randomly assigned to groups in which magnets of the Tshaped scheme(study group,n=6)or normal magnets(control group,n=6)were implanted into the trachea and esophagus separately under gastroscopy.Operation time,operation success rate,and accidental injury were recorded.After operation,the presence and timing of cough and the time of magnet shedding were observed.Dogs in the control group were euthanized after X-ray and gastroscopy to confirm establishment of TEFs after coughing,and gross specimens of TEFs were obtained.Dogs in the study group were euthanized after X-ray and gastroscopy 2 wk after surgery,and gross specimens were obtained.Fistula size was measured in all animals,and then harvested fistula specimens were examined by hematoxylin and eosin(HE)and masson trichrome staining.RESULTS The operation success rate was 100%for both groups.Operation time did not differ between the study group(5.25 min±1.29 min)and the control group(4.75 min±1.70 min;P=0.331).No bleeding,perforation,or unplanned magnet attraction occurred in any animal during the operation.In the early postoperative period,all dogs ate freely and were generally in good condition.Dogs in the control group had severe cough after drinking water at 6-9 d after surgery.X-ray indicated that the magnets had entered the stomach,and gastroscopy showed TEF formation.Gross specimens of TEFs from the control group showed the formation of fistulas with a diameter of 4.94 mm±1.29 mm(range,3.52-6.56 mm).HE and masson trichrome staining showed scar tissue formation and hierarchical structural

To better characterize the properties of surface-initiated polymers, simultaneous bulk-and surface-initiated polymerizations are usually carried out by assuming that the properties of the surface-initiated polymers resemble those of the bulk-initiated polymers. Through a Monte Carlo simulation using a heterogeneous stochastic reaction model, it was discovered that the bulk-initiated polymers exhibit a higher molecular weight and a lower dispersity than the corresponding surface-initiated polymers, which indicates that the equivalent assumption is invalid. Furthermore, the molecular weight distributions of the two types of polymers are also different, suggesting different polymerization mechanisms. The results can be simply explained by the heterogeneous distributions of reactants in the system. This study is helpful to better understand surface-initiated polymerization.

BACKGROUND According to clinical data,a significant percentage of patients experience pain after surgery,highlighting the importance of alleviating postoperative pain.The current approach involves intravenous self-control analgesia,often utilizing opioid analgesics such as morphine,sufentanil,and fentanyl.Surgery for colo-rectal cancer typically involves general anesthesia.Therefore,optimizing anes-thetic management and postoperative analgesic programs can effectively reduce perioperative stress and enhance postoperative recovery.The study aims to analyze the impact of different anesthesia modalities with multimodal analgesia on patients'postoperative pain.AIM To explore the effects of different anesthesia methods coupled with multi-mode analgesia on postoperative pain in patients with colorectal cancer.METHODS Following the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,a total of 126 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were included,of which 63 received general anesthesia coupled with multi-mode labor pain and were set as the control group,and 63 received general anesthesia associated with epidural anesthesia coupled with multi-mode labor pain and were set as the research group.After data collection,the effects of postoperative analgesia,sedation,and recovery were compared.RESULTS Compared to the control group,the research group had shorter recovery times for orientation,extubation,eye-opening,and spontaneous respiration(Pmany scores at 6 h and 12 h,and improved cognitive function at 24 h,48 h,and 72 h(P<0.05).Additionally,interleukin-6 and interleukin-10 levels were significantly reduced at various time points in the research group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Levels of CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+were also lower in the research group at multiple time points(P<0.05).CONCLUSION For patients with colorectal cancer,general anesthesia coupled with epidural anesthes

Improvement of impact properties of Al-Si-Mg alloy via solution treatment and joint modification with Sr and La

An effort to obtain superior impact properties for Al-7Si-0.35 Mg alloy is presented,where modification with 0.02 wt% Sr and 0.1 wt% La as well as solution treatment was jointly employed.The samples were solution treated at 535℃ for 15 min to 12 h.The microstructure,fracture mechanism,and their correlation with the impact properties of the alloy were studied in detail mainly through optical microscopy（OM）,scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and oscillography impact test.The results show that the addition of Sr and La refined the eutectic Si particles significantly from～ 2.05 μm（modified with Sr alone） to～ 0.75 μm in as-cast microstructure,leading to a very homogeneous distribution of spheroidized Si particles in the alloy solution treated at 535℃ for 8 h.The alloy exhibits excellent impact toughness up to 75 J·cm-2,which is much higher than the maximum impact toughness of the alloys modified by Sr alone(～ 46 J·cm-2).The major reason for this remarkable increase in the impact property is the dramatic increase in crack initiation energy.The dispersoid-free zones（DFZs）near the eutectic regions mainly consist of the ductile Al-matrix,which exhibits excellent ductility.The ductile Al-matrix of the DFZs hinders the crack propagation,resulting in a significant increase in crack propagation energy.

CFCS:A Robust and Efficient Collaboration Framework for Automatic Modulation Recognition

Most of the existing automatic modulation recognition(AMR)studies focus on optimizing the network structure to improve performance,without fully considering cooperation among the basic networks to play their respective advantages.In this paper,we propose a robust and efficient collaboration framework based on the combination scheme(CFCS).This scheme effectively explores the spatial and temporal characteristics of complex signals by associating the advantages of convolutional neural network(CNN)and long and short-term memory(LSTM)network.In addition,the robustness of the CFCS is verified by transfer learning.Experiments demonstrate that the recognition rate of CFCS for highorder modulation signals such as 64QAM,128QAM,and 256QAM is more than 90%at high signal-to-noise ratios(SNRs),and 24 modulation types are effectively identified.Moreover,CFCS was transferred from RML2018.01a to RML2016.10b using transfer learning,which can still be deployed efficiently while reducing the training time by 20%.The CFCS has strong generalization ability and excellent recognition performance.

A variety of electromagnetic wave absorption materials(EMWAs)have been reported,but the integration of powder materials and multifunctional devices should be investigated in-depth to adapt to practical demands.Herein,carbon-coated cobalt composites were prepared by adsorbing magnetic metal cations into an anionic crystalline framework through an electrostatic encapsulate process.Excellent reflection loss(RL_(min))of-40.49 d B and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.36 GHz(RLmal radar cross section(RCS)reduction of 34.9 dB·m^(2) for the sample tested.For commercial applications,Co@CN-4 was integrated into sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)aerogel to create an ultra-lightweight composite aerogel that is compressive resistant and heat-holding while also having photothermal conversion capabilities.The hydrophobic modification makes it more widely useful.This study provides a new strategy for EWAMs to integrate versatility and improve their application prospects.

Hydrogen production from hydrolysis of NaBH4 solution over Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF thin film catalyst

In this study,the double loaded Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF（NF:Ni foam） thin film catalysts were prepared for the first time via chemical deposition method at room temperature.By optimizing the reducing agent concentration to 0.9 mol·L-1,the as-obtained Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF exhibited the twisted ribbon structure with more distinct three-dimensional hierarchy and the smaller particle size,showing the good catalytic property for the hydrolysis of NaBH4solution.The H2generation rate of Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF and binary Co-B@g-C3N4/NF under visible light irradiation surpassed the value under natural condition.The apparent activation energy of Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF(45.0 kJ·mol-1) under visible light irradiation was obviously reduced when compared with the natural condition(48.4 kJ·mol-1) and binary Co-B@g-C3N4/NF(60.6 kJ·mol-1) under visible light irradiation.Furthermore,the catalytic performance of the optimized Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF thin film catalyst was superior to most of the reported non-noble metal and even noble metal catalysts.Hence,it illustrated that the catalytic H2production performance of Co-Fe-B@g-C3N4/NF thin film was distinctly improved after the introduction of light and multicomponent recombination.
