Maize drought disaster risk assessment of China based on EPIC model

Digital Agriculture is one of the important applications of Digital *** the global climate changes and food security becomes an increasingly important issue,agriculture drought comes to the focus of *** is a typical monsoon climate country as well as an agricultural country with the world’s largest *** East Asian monsoon has had a tremendous impact upon agricultural ***,a maize drought disaster risk assessment,in line with the requirements of sustainable development of agriculture,is important for ensuring drought disaster reduction and food ***,soil,land use,and agro-meteorological observation information of the research area were collected,and based on the concept framework of‘hazard-inducing factors assessment(hazard)-vulnerability assessment of hazard-affected body(vulner-ability curve)-risk assessment(risk),’importing crop model EPIC(Erosion-Productivity Impact Calculator),using crop model simulation and digital mapping techniques,quantitative assessment of spatio-temporal distribution of maize drought in China was *** results showed that:in terms of 2,5,10,and 20 year return periods,the overall maize drought risk decreased gradually from northwest to southeast in the maize planting *** the 20 year return period,high risk value regions(drought loss rate]0.5)concentrate in the irrigated maize region of Northwest china,ecotone between agriculture and animal husbandry in Northern China,Hetao Irrigation Area,and north-central area of North China Plain,accounting for 6.41%of the total maize *** results can provide a scientific basis for the government’s decision-making in risk management and drought disaster prevention in China.

Multi-scales Analysis of Driving Forces on Land Use/Cover Change in China:Taking Farmland Returning to Forest or Grassland as a Case

Increasing populations are causing an increase in food demands, and the area of cultivated land expands every year. Inappropriate land transition from ecology to production results in the constant decline of the ecological security level and influences the regional sustainable development. Adjusting unreasonable land use mode and reconstructing natural land cover are important ways to maintain and improve the ecological environment. Also reclaiming farmland as areas for forests and grasslands (FRFG) is another way. Successful implementation of FRFG in China is the result of comprehensive effect of the multi-scales driving forces. This paper analyses the driving forces of FRFG in China on a national (country) –regional (province) – local (county) – household (farmer) level scale, and the results are: driving forces at the national scale include ecological and food security and the western development of China; at the regional scale, ecological and economic benefits become the main factors to influence the dimension of FRFG under the same policy. The driving forces can be divided into 6 types: industrial structure adjustment, water source protection, flood prevention, the Three-Gorge Project protection, reduction of the amount of sediment flowing into the Yellow River and wind erosion desertification prevention. The driving forces at the local scale can be divided into 12 types with developing leading industries, increasing farmers’ income and improving agricultural production conditions as the main types; at the household scale, the nationalpolicy meeting farmers’ demands and the optimization of individual interests are all driving forces.

In this study,based on the EM-DAT(The Emergency Events Database)database,disaster assessment for the“Belt and Road”region was carried out in relation to the SDG_(13.1.1)indicator of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)agenda launched in 2015.A new method for diagnosing trends in the SDG_(13.1.1)indicators based on the Theil-Sen median method is *** addition,using the data available in the EM-DAT,an overview of disaster records is used to quantify disasters for a total of 73 *** disaster trends for the period 2015‒2019 were found to demon-strate the following.(1)As a result of geological and climate con-ditions,Asia and Africa are high-risk disaster areas and disasters have caused considerable economic losses and affected the popu-lations in developing and underdeveloped countries in these regions.(2)The clear positive value ofΔs_(13.1.1)found for China reflects the country’s encouraging achievements in disaster preven-tion and mitigation.(3)The value of SDG_(13.1.1)was observed to be increasing in South Asia,northwest Africa and South Africa,with the increase in India and Mauritania being the most *** new method proposed in this paper allows the real trend in the SDG_(13.1.1)indicator in various countries to be derived and provides critical intelligence support for international disaster risk reduction plans and sustainable development goals.

District prediction of cholera risk in China based on environmental factors

The epidemics of cholera are impacted by many climatic and environmental factors such as precipitation, temperature, elevation and so on. The paper analyzed the suitable degree of V. cholerae in China using MaxEnt based on some geographic and climatic factors, and predicted the cholera risk in each district of China according to the suitable degree. The result shows that the areas in coastal southeast, central China and western Sichuan Basin are relatively suitable for V. cholerae and the suitable degree is higher in the Xinjiang Basin than in surrounding areas. The variables of precipitation, temperature and DEM are three main environmental risky factors that affecting the distribution of cholera in China. The variables of relative humidity, the distance to the sea and air pressure also have impacts on cholera, but sunshine duration and drainage density have little impact. The AUC value of MaxEnt based model is above 0.9 which indicates a high accuracy.

To achieve a fully automatic registration between HJ-1 CCD images and HJ-1 infrared images is a difficult task as it must deal with the varying illuminations and resolutions of the images,different perspectives,and the local deformations within the *** this paper,aimed at those registration issues,a fully automatic registration approach based on contour and SIFT is *** registration technique performs a pre-registration process using contour feature matching algorithm that decides the overlapping region between a reference image and an input *** the coarse regions are obtained,it performs a fine registration process based on SIFT detector and a local adaptive matching *** the fine registration process,image blocking theory is used,which not only speeds up the features extraction and matching,but also makes the matching point pairs distributed uniformly in images,and further improves the accuracy of input image *** with visible images and infrared images from HJ-1A/B demonstrate the efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed technique for multisource remote sensing images registration.

联合国《变革我们的世界:2030年可持续发展议程》已实施过半,国际社会广泛关切2030年议程前半程的有益经验和不利教训,并为后半程和未来可持续发展寻找指引和方向。及时、准确数据的缺失,仍然是制约人类应对长期、短期可持续发展问题的短板,更是阻碍可持续发展目标(Sustainable Development Goals,SDGs)进展监测、实施决策的瓶颈。作为全面、综合、整体研究地球系统的重要手段,空间观测技术是弥补当前SDGs指标统计数据不足、时空信息缺失的重要方法。本文介绍了空间观测技术在监测和评估SDG2零饥饿、SDG6清洁饮水和卫生设施、SDG7经济适用的清洁能源、SDG11可持续城市和社区、SDG13气候行动、SDG14水下生物和SDG 15陆地生物等7个可持续发展目标的研究进展及挑战,并对SDGs指标空间观测体系建设、空间观测数据共享和应用、SDGs监测评估方法研究等进行探讨。

为做好喀斯特地区农业旱灾风险防范,揭示石漠化程度对作物旱灾风险的影响机制。该文基于灾害系统理论,引入基于物理过程的农作物模型EPIC(erosion productivity impact calculator),考虑西南喀斯特地貌背景,以水分胁迫累加值作为致灾因子,与玉米产量损失进行脆弱性曲线模拟,基于此开展不同石漠化程度区玉米旱灾产量的致灾和成灾损失风险评估。结果显示,中国西南喀斯特地区玉米受旱减产的风险呈现从西北到东南增加的趋势。在4种风险水平(2、5、10、20年一遇)下,面积占比最大的产量损失率主要集中分布在0.4~0.5区间内,这主要由地形地势、降水差异和承灾体的脆弱性所共同决定的;受石漠化影响,土层厚度为40 cm时,4种风险水平对应的减产率分别为5.8%、6.1%、7.8%、8.2%;该研究可以为中国第三大玉米主产区-西南山地玉米区的农业灾害预警和保障国家粮食安全提供重要的科学依据和技术支持。

Understanding the local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys via machine learning potential

The local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys were in-depth understood using deep potential molecular dynamic(DPMD) simulation driven via machine learning to promote the development of Mg-La alloys. The robustness of the trained deep potential(DP) model was thoroughly evaluated through several aspects, including root-mean-square errors(RMSEs), energy and force data, and structural information comparison results;the results indicate the carefully trained DP model is reliable. The component and temperature dependence of the local structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy was analyzed. The effect of Mg content in the system on the first coordination shell of the atomic pairs is the same as that of temperature. The pre-peak demonstrated in the structure factor indicates the presence of a medium-range ordered structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy, which is particularly pronounced in the 80at% Mg system and disappears at elevated temperatures. The density, self-diffusion coefficient, and shear viscosity for the Mg-La liquid alloy were predicted via DPMD simulation, the evolution patterns with Mg content and temperature were subsequently discussed, and a database was established accordingly. Finally, the mixing enthalpy and elemental activity of the Mg-La liquid alloy at 1200 K were reliably evaluated,which provides new guidance for related studies.

Understanding amorphous PrO_(x)-based N-doped carbon catalyst as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction

The development of an e fficacious and easily prepared no nprecious metal electrocatalyst is crucial for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).This work used a dual template method to prepare the amorphous rare earth-based catalyst PrO_(x)-NC,and optimized the calcination temperature and *** PrO_(x)-NC-900 catalyst has high durability and activity and exhibits superior ORR performance in alkaline electrolytes with an onset potential(E_(0))of 0.96 V and a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.85 *** research results indicate that the ORR performance of rare earth oxide composite carbon catalysts can be improved by adjusting oxygen vacancies(Ov).In addition,high specific surface area,N rich defect *** oxygen vacancies,and the synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and N-doped carbon interfacial layer play a significant part in the enhancement of *** performance of the zinc air battery assembled with PrO_(x)-NC-900 is significantly improved,and rare earth oxides and carbon frameworks originating from metal organic frameworks(MOFs)contribute to the oxygen electrocatalyst and electron transfer rate of the zinc air *** catalyst provides promising information for the development of rare earth metal oxide nanostructures as potential candidate materials for ORR in alkaline media.
