Therapeutic effect of regulating autophagy in spinal cord injury: a network meta-analysis of direct and indirect comparisons

Extrachromosomal DNA(ecDNA)is a form of circular DNA mostly found in tumor *** the typical chromosomal DNA,ecDNA is circular,self-replicating,and carries complete or partial gene *** ecDNA occurrence remains a rare event in cancer,recent studies have shown that oncogene amplification on ecDNA is widespread throughout many types of cancer,implying that ecDNA plays a central role in accelerating tumor *** has also been associated with increased tumor mutation burden,chromosomal instability,and even tumor microenvironment *** may be crucial in influencing tumor heterogeneity,drug sensitivity,oncogenic senescence,and tumor immunogenicity,leading to a worsening prognosis for tumor *** this way,several clinical trials have been conducted to investigate the importance of ecDNA in clinical *** this review,we summarize the biogenesis,characteristics,and current research methods of ecDNA,discuss the vital role of ecDNA-caused tumor heterogeneity in cancers,and highlight the potential role of ecDNA in cancer therapy.

Nitrogen addition promotes soil carbon accumulation globally

Soil is the largest carbon(C)reservoir in terrestrial ecosystems and plays a crucial role in regulating the global C cycle and climate *** nitrogen(N)deposition has been widely considered as a critical factor affecting soil organic carbon(SOC)storage,but its effect on SOC components with different stability remains ***,we analyzed extensive empirical data from 304 sites worldwide to investigate how SOC and its components respond to N *** analysis showed that N addition led to a significant increase in bulk SOC(6.7%),with greater increases in croplands(10.6%)and forests(6.0%)compared to grasslands(2.1%).Regarding SOC components,N addition promoted the accumulation of plant-derived C(9.7%–28.5%)over microbial-derived C(0.2%),as well as labile(5.7%)over recalcitrant components(–1.2%),resulting in a shift towards increased accumulation of plant-derived labile ***,N addition led to a greater increase in particulate organic C(11.9%)than mineral-associated organic C(3.6%),suggesting that N addition promotes C accumulation across all pools,with more increase in unstable than stable *** responses of SOC and its components were best predicted by the N addition rate and net primary ***,our findings suggest that N enrichment could promote the accumulation of plant-derived and non-mineral associated C and a subsequent decrease in the overall stability of soil C pool,which underscores the importance of considering the effects of N enrichment on SOC components for a better understanding of C dynamics in soils.

Barrierless reactions of C2 Criegee intermediates with H_(2)SO_(4)and their implication to oligomers and new particle formation

The formation of oligomeric hydrogen peroxide triggered by Criegee intermediate maybe contributes significantly to the formation and growth of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).However,to date,the reactivity of C2 Criegee intermediates(CH_(3)CHOO)in areas contaminated with acidic gas remains poorly ***,high-level quantum chemical calculations and Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics(BOMD)simulations are used to explore the reaction of CH_(3)CHOO and H_(2)SO_(4)both in the gas phase and at the airwater *** the gas phase,the addition reaction of CH_(3)CHOO with H_(2)SO_(4)to generate CH_(3)HC(OOH)OSO_(3)H(HPES)is near-barrierless,regardless of the presence of water *** simulations showthat the reaction at the air-water interface is even faster than that in the gas *** calculations reveal that the HPES has a tendency to aggregate with sulfuric acids,ammonias,and water molecules to form stable clusters,meanwhile the oligomerization reaction of CH_(3)CHOO with HPES in the gas phase is both thermochemically and kinetically ***,it is noted that the interfacial HPES−ion can attract H_(2)SO_(4),NH_(3),(COOH)_(2)and HNO_(3)for particle formation from the gas phase to the water ***,the results of this work not only elucidate the high atmospheric reactivity of C2 Criegee intermediates in polluted regions,but also deepen our understanding of the formation process of atmospheric SOA induced by Criegee intermediates.

Insights into the 3D thermal structure of interplate earthquakes in the Colombia–Ecuador subduction zone

Throughout the 20th century, several large megathrust earthquakes were observed in the Colombia–Ecuador subduction zone which widely ruptured plate interfaces, causing considerable damage and loss of life. The occurrence of earthquakes in subduction zones is thought to be closely related to the thermal structure of the incoming plate. However, in the case of the subducting Nazca Plate beneath the Colombia–Ecuador zone, the thermal structure remains unclear, especially its hydraulic distribution. On the basis of 3D thermal models, we present new insights into the plate interface conditions of Colombia–Ecuador interplate and megathrust earthquakes. We show that the plate geometry strongly affects the along-strike thermal structure of the slab beneath Colombia and Ecuador, with the subduction of the Carnegie Ridge playing an important role. Our results further reveal that the unique geometry of the Nazca Plate is the primary reason for the relatively high temperatures of the slab beneath Colombia. We suggest that the positions of the100–200 °C and 350–450 °C isotherms on the plate interface determine the updip and downdip limits of the seismogenic zone. For Colombia–Ecuador interplate earthquakes, the released fluids control the distribution of shallow-depth earthquakes, whereas the age and geometry of the slab control the distribution of intermediate-depth earthquakes. The average temperature of the plate interface at the upper limit of large megathrust earthquakes is hotter than previously thought, which is more consistent with our understanding of the Colombia–Ecuador subduction zone. We predict that the potential location of future large seismic events could be in the rupture zone of past seismic events or offshore of northern Colombia.

Facilitation of microbialite development by continental weathering in the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block

We report geochemical data for carbonate rocks from the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block,including trace-element contents and C,O,and Sr isotopic compositions,to determine the controls on the development of microbialites in this *** sedimentary environment of the Zhangxia Formation evolved from carbonate-slope through platform-margin-reef to ooid-shoal,and then to open-platform settings,corresponding to the development of micrites,microbialites,and oolitic *** data show that δ13C values decrease upwards through the Zhangxia Formation,from 0.99‰to-1.59‰,whereas δ18O values increase from-9.91‰to-7.10‰.Total rare earth element （REE）contents decrease upwards through the stratigraphy,and the contents of Th and Sc show a similar trend.87Sr/86Sr ratios reach a maximum of 0.710544 in the horizons of microbialite development,Member 2 of the Zhangxia Formation,above which the ratios are uniform,with a mean value of *** these geochemical data with the inferred sedimentary evolution,the Zhangxia Formation is interpreted to have formed in a depositional environment that changed from transgression to *** weathering played a crucial role in promoting the input of terrigenous materials,which in turn favored the development of microbialites during the early stage of deposition of the Zhangxia Formation.

Subduction thermal state, slab metamorphism, and seismicity in the Makran Subduction Zone

The dependence of the subduction regime on three-dimensional slab geometry poses a challenge for accurately estimating the evolving thermal structure of megathrusts globally. Although slab dips and ages have gained attention, the specific impacts of oblique subduction remain unmeasured. Here, we present an integrated thermal model that quantifies how slab morphology can shape the thermal state of megathrusts, such as those in the Makran Subduction Zone. The model considers both slab obliquity and depth variations along the trench. We find a considerable match between the slab petrological dehydration zone and the distribution of great crustal earthquakes. We suggest that the accumulation of fluids along megathrusts by slab metamorphism can foster more polarized conditions for decreasing plate coupling and increasing interplate ruptures. It is thus imperative to improve model representation and more realistically represent how drivers of slab geometry affect metamorphic transitions and the occurrence of earthquakes at megathrusts.

Chlorination of benzyl group on the terminal unit of A_(2)-A_1-D-A_1-A_(2) type nonfullerene acceptor for high-voltage organic solar cells

Benzotriazole(BTA)-based A_(2)-A_1-D-A_1-A_(2)type wide-bandgap(WBG)non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs)have shown promising potential in indoor photovoltaic,and in-depth investigation of their structure-property relationship is of great ***,we explored the chlorination effect of the side chain on the *** introduced Cl atoms into the benzyl side chains in parent BTA5 to synthesize two NFAs,BTA5-Cl with mono-chlorinated benzyl groups and BTA5-2Cl containing bi-chlorinated benzyl *** chose D18-Cl with deep-energy levels and strong crystallinity to pair with these three acceptors,affording high photovoltage and *** the stepwise chlorination,the open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))values decrease from 1.28,1.22,to 1.20 V,while the corresponding power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)improve from 5.07%,9.15%,to 10.96%.Compared with BTA5-based OSCs,introducing Cl atoms downshifts the energy levels and slightly increases the non-radiative energy loss(0.14<0.17<0.19 e V),resulting in a sequential decrease in VO ***,more chlorine atom replacements produce more effective exciton dissociation,higher charge transfer,and balanced carrier mobility in the blend films,ultimately achieving better *** work indicates that chlorination of the benzyl group on the terminals can improve the device's performance,implying good application potential in indoor photovoltaics.
