Sociodemographic characteristics and risk factor analysis of Demodex infestation(Acari:Demodicidae)

To identify sociodemographic characteristics and risk factor of Demodex infestation,756 students aged 13-22 years in Xi'an,China were sampled for the school-based cross-sectional *** was examined using the cellophane tape method(CTP).The results showed that the total detection rate of Demodex was 67.6%.Logistic regression analysis revealed that five variables(gender,residence,sharing sanitary ware,frequency of face-wash per day,and use of facial cleanser) were found to be uncorrelated with Demodex infestation,whereas three variables(age,skin type,and skin disease) were found to be independent *** aged over 18 years had 22.1 times higher odds of Demodex infestation compared to those under 16 years and students aged 16-18 years also had 2.1 times higher odds compared to those aged 13-15 *** of having a Demodex infestation for oily or mixed skin were 2.1 times those for dry or neutral *** with a facial skin disease had 3.0 times higher odds of being infested with Demodex compared to those *** inception rate of students with facial dermatoses increased in parallel with increasing mite *** inception rates were 21.3%,40.7%,59.2%,and 67.7% in the negative,mild,moderate,and severe infestation groups,respectively(χ2=60.6,P<0.001).Specifically,the amount of infested mites and inception rate of acne vulgaris were positively correlated(R2=0.57,moderate infestation odds ratio(OR)=7.1,severe infestation OR=10.3).It was concluded that Demodex prevalence increases with age,and Demodex presents in nearly all adult *** hyperplasia with oily or mixed skin seems to favour Demodex *** infestation could be associated with acne *** CTP is a good sampling method for studies of Demodex prevalence.

Cloning and sequence analysis of chitin synthase gene fragments of Demodex mites

To our knowledge,few reports on Demodex studied at the molecular level are available at *** this study our group,for the first time,cloned,sequenced and analyzed the chitin synthase(CHS) gene fragments of Demodex folliculorum,Demodex brevis,and Demodex canis(three isolates from each species) from Xi'an China,by designing specific primers based on the only partial sequence of the CHS gene of *** from Japan,retrieved from *** show that amplification was successful only in three *** isolates and one *** isolate out of the nine Demodex *** obtained fragments were sequenced to be 339 bp for *** and 338 bp for *** CHS gene sequence similarities between the three Xi'an *** isolates and one Japanese *** isolate ranged from 99.7% to 100.0%,and those between four *** isolates and one *** isolate were 99.1%-99.4%.Phylogenetic trees based on maximum parsimony(MP) and maximum likelihood(ML) methods shared the same clusters,according with the traditional *** open reading frames(ORFs) were identified in each CHS gene sequenced,and their corresponding amino acid sequences were located at the catalytic *** relatively conserved sequences could be deduced to be a CHS class A gene,which is associated with chitin synthesis in the integument of Demodex mites.

Concentrated Fluoride-medium Route to Synthesis of One-dimensional Fluoroaluminophosphate Chain (C_4H_(15)N_3)[AlPO_4F_2]

A new one-dimensional（ID） fluoroaluminophosphate chain（C4H15N3）[AlPO4F2]（denoted AIPO-CJ28） was synthesized in the concentrated fluoride synthetic medium with a gel composition of 1.0Al（OPr^1）a：1.0H3PO4： 5.4DETA：1.3HF：2.0H2O（DETA=diethylenetriamine）. The reagents were mixed directly without introducing additional water solvent. The 1D chain is constructed by alternating AlO2F2 arid doubly bridging PO4 tetrahedra to form the simplest serrate chain. AIPO-CJ28 can be transformed to another 1D aluminophosphate chain A1PO-CSC upon further crystallization at 230 ℃.

Multi-Stream Temporally Enhanced Network for Video Salient Object Detection

Video salient object detection(VSOD)aims at locating the most attractive objects in a video by exploring the spatial and temporal *** poses a challenging task in computer vision,as it involves processing complex spatial data that is also influenced by temporal *** the progress made in existing VSOD models,they still struggle in scenes of great background diversity within and between ***,they encounter difficulties related to accumulated noise and high time consumption during the extraction of temporal features over a long-term *** propose a multi-stream temporal enhanced network(MSTENet)to address these *** investigates saliency cues collaboration in the spatial domain with a multi-stream structure to deal with the great background diversity challenge.A straightforward,yet efficient approach for temporal feature extraction is developed to avoid the accumulative noises and reduce time *** distinction between MSTENet and other VSOD methods stems from its incorporation of both foreground supervision and background supervision,facilitating enhanced extraction of collaborative saliency *** notable differentiation is the innovative integration of spatial and temporal features,wherein the temporal module is integrated into the multi-stream structure,enabling comprehensive spatial-temporal interactions within an end-to-end *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance on five benchmark datasets while maintaining a real-time speed of 27 fps(Titan XP).Our code and models are available at https://***/rujiaLe/MSTENet.

By modeling a group of neighboring real particles as a single coarse-grained particle(CGP),discrete particle method(DPM)is now capable of simulating industrial-scale particle-fluid ***,a systematic approach to determine the CGP properties and develop their interaction models is still lacking,which casts uncertainty on the predictivity of the *** this study,collisions between predefined particle groups are analyzed to construct kernel functions for modeling the CGPs and then the model parameters are determined by equating the statistical properties of the CGPs and the real particles in the physical process *** approach is implemented for homogeneous cooling of granular gas,then demonstrated effective in simulating experimental fluidized beds.

Evaluation of the injection and plugging ability of a novel epoxy resin in cement cracks

Design,scaling-up,and optimization of industrial reactors mainly depend on step-by-step experiments and engineering experience,which is usually time-consuming,high cost,and high *** numerical simulation can reproduce high resolution details of hydrodynamics,thermal transfer,and reaction process in reactors,it is still challenging for industrial reactors due to huge computational *** this study,by combining the numerical simulation and artificial intelligence(AI)technology of machine learning(ML),a method is proposed to efficiently predict and optimize the performance of industrial reactors.A gas–solid fluidization reactor for the methanol to olefins process is taken as an example.1500 cases under different conditions are simulated by the coarse-grain discrete particle method based on the Energy-Minimization Multi-Scale model,and thus,the reactor performance data set is *** develop an efficient reactor performance prediction model influenced by multiple factors,the ML method is established including the ensemble learning strategy and automatic hyperparameter optimization technique,which has better performance than the methods based on the artificial neural ***,the operating conditions for highest yield of ethylene and propylene or lowest pressure drop are searched with the particle swarm optimization algorithm due to its strength to solve non-linear optimization *** show that decreasing the methanol inflow rate and increasing the catalyst inventory can maximize the yield,while decreasing methanol the inflow rate and reducing the catalyst inventory can minimize the pressure *** two objectives are thus conflicting,and the practical operations need to be compromised under different circumstance.

3D coarse-grained DPM simulation of the MIP reaction-regeneration loop

The reactor-regenerator loop is the core facility of the maximizing iso-paraffin(MIP)*** the discrete particle method(DPM)simulation can provide detailed information at the particle scale,it has been unable to simulate such a complex loop system due to limitations of coarse-grained(CG)models,computing software,and *** this study,a newly proposed soft-shell CG-DPM model with a CG ratio of up to 800 is used to simulate a 3.5 Mt/a industrial-scale MIP reactor-regenerator *** solid fraction distribution obtained is found to agree well with in-situ *** properties including the distribution of solid fraction,gas and solid velocity,standard derivation of solid fraction with time,temporal distribution of the flow field,and particle residence time distribution are measured in the simulation,which are meaningful to better design and operate such systems in the future.

Leaching kinetics and permeability of polyethyleneimine added ammonium sulfate on weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores

At present,in-situ leaching of weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores(WCE-DREOs) encounter with problems such as long leaching cycles,slow infiltration rate and low product *** order to solve the above problems,the conventional leaching agent ammonium sulfate((NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)) was compounded with polymeric surfactant polyethyleneimine(PEI) to form a composite leaching *** effects of leaching temperature,PEI *** rate and pH on leaching kinetics and permeability of rare earths(RE) and aluminum(AI) in orebody were *** is found that with temperature increasing,the time required to reach leaching equilibrium for both RE and Al is shortened,the apparent activation energies of RE and AI are 14.79 and 13.45 kJ/mol,respectively,and the leaching processes are in accordance with the outer diffusion control,When the concentrations of(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) and PEI in the composite leaching agent are 2.0 wt% and 0.4 wt%;the time required to reach leaching equilibrium for RE and AI is about 50% shorter than that using(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) alone,and the leaching efficiencies of RE are slightly higher than that of *** increasing the temperature and flow rate of the composite leaching agent can improve the leaching efficiencies of RE and Al,but pH has neglected effects on the leaching efficiencies of *** PEI concentrations below 0,4 wt%, the addition of PEI promotes the leaching of RE and *** column leaching studies of the WCE-DREO,the addition of 0.4 wt% PEI to the traditional leaching agent(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) has no impact on the leaching efficiencies of ***,it can significantly increase the infiltration rate of WCE-DREO,shortening the leaching time per 10 mL effluent from about 30 min for(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) leaching system to 20 min for the composite leaching *** leaching time is shortened by one-third,and the leaching cost is reduced,which can provide theoretical guidance for the development and commercial implementa
