Objective To determine the association between the irregularity of carotid plaque surface using multidimensional magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) of ipsilateral acute cerebral infarction(ACI) cases. Methods Patients with recent cerebrovascular symptoms(stroke or transient ischemic attack < 2 weeks) and atherosclerotic plaque in at least one carotid artery were diagnosed by B-mode ultrasound imaging(intima-media thickness ≥ 1.5 mm) and recruited for the present study. Irregular surface was defined when plaque surface was uneven with high and low fluctuation or plaque with surface ulceration. The irregularity of carotid plaque surface was determined on axial or oblique images alone(single-dimension) and on both axial images and oblique images(multidimensions), separately. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to calculate the odds ratio(OR) and the corresponding 95% CI of the irregular plaque surface in discriminating the presence of ipsilateral ACI. Results A total of 217 included subjects(mean age: 60.7 ± 10.2 years, 149 men) were recruited and 89(41.0%), 88(40.6%) and 118(54.4%) of them exhibited irregular plaque surface on axial, oblique and multidimensional MR images, respectively. The OR of irregularity of the plaque surface was determined by multidimensional MRI to be 5.88(95% CI: 3.16–10.96, P < 0.001) in discriminating the presence of ipsilateral ACI. Following adjustment for clinical confounding factors, this association remained statistically significant(OR = 5.65, 95% CI: 2.53–12.60, P < 0.001). The analysis included further adjustment for the presence of lipid-rich necrotic core, intraplaque hemorrhage and stenosis and the results included that this association also remained statistically significant(OR = 6.08, 95% CI: 2.52–14.68, P < 0.001). Conclusions The irregular plaque surface was determined by multidimensional MRI as an independent indicator for ipsilateral acute cerebral infarction.

Two powdery mildew resistance genes were Identified from Aegilops tauschll accessions Y201 and Y212 and mapped using two different F2 populations derived from the crosses between susceptible accession Y2272 and Y201, and susceptible accession Y2263 and Y212. Genetic analysis of resistance to powdery mildew Indicated that the resistance of Y201 was controlled by a single dominant gene, whereas the resistance of Y212 was controlled by a single recessive gene. We have temporarily designated these genes as PmY201 and PmY212, respectively. By bulk segregation analysis, six mlcrosatelllte markers Including Xgwm174, cfd26, cfd57, cfdl02, Xgwm583 and Xgwm639 were found to be linked to PraY201 with genetic distances of 5.2, 7.7, 9.6, 12.5, 20.2 and 22.1 cM, respectively. Five SSR markers, including cfd57, Xgwm182, cfd7, cfd102, and cfd12, were found to be linked to PmY212 with distances of 5.6, 7.2, 11.5, 14.7, and 18.5 cM, respectively. According to the locations of the linked markers, the two resistance genes were located In the 5DL region. Based on the chromosomal locations and the resistance patterns of the two genes, we propose that PmY201 and PmY212 are two novel powdery mildew resistance genes, and are suitable for marker-assisted selection.

AIM: To develop the simple, rapid and sensitive dual-label time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay for pepsinogens in human ***: Based on two-site sandwich protocol, mono-clonal antibodies (McAbs) against pepsinogen Ⅰ (PG Ⅰ) and PG Ⅱ were co-coated in 96 microtitration wells, and tracer McAbs against PG Ⅰ and PG Ⅱ were labeled with europium (Eu) and samarium (Sm) chelate, respectively. Diluted serum samples of Eu3+- and Sm3+-McAbs were added into microtitration wells simultaneously. After washing, fluorescence of bound Sm3+ and Eu3+ tracers was detected. RESULTS: The detection limit was 0.2 μg/L for PG Ⅰ and 0.05 μg/L for PG Ⅱ. The assay range was 5.0-320.0 μg/Lfor PG Ⅰ and 1.0-55.0 μg/L for PG Ⅱ. The average re-covery rate was 102.7% for PG Ⅰ and 98.8% for PG Ⅱ. Sera from healthy controls and patients with gastric dis-ease were analyzed. The PG detected by dual-label as-say was in good agreement with that detected by single-label assay or by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. CONCLUSION: Dual-label assay can provide high-throughput serological screening for gastric diseases.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of transfer RNA(tRNA) responsible for the association between tRNA genes and genes of apparently foreign origin(genomic islands) in five high-light adapted Prochlorococcus *** bidirectional best BLASTP(basic local alignment search tool for proteins) search and the conservation of gene order against each other were utilized to identify genomic islands,and 7 genomic islands were found to be immediately adjacent to tRNAs in Prochlorococcus marinus AS9601,11 in *** MIT9515,8 in *** MED4,6 in *** MIT9301,and 6 in *** *** Carlo simulation showed that tRNA genes are hotspots for the integration of genomic islands in Prochlorococcus *** tRNA genes associated with genomic islands showed the following characteristics:(1) the association was biased towards a specific subset of all iso-accepting tRNA genes;(2) the codon usages of genes within genomic islands appear to be unrelated to the codons recognized by associated tRNAs;and,(3) the majority of the 3' ends of associated tRNAs lack CCA *** findings contradict previous hypotheses concerning the molecular basis for the frequent use of tRNA as the insertion site for foreign genetic *** analysis of a genomic island associated with a tRNA-Asn gene in *** MIT9301 suggests that foreign genetic material is inserted into the host genomes by means of site-specific recombination,with the 3' end of the tRNA as the target,and during the process,a direct repeat of the 3' end sequence of a boundary tRNA(namely,a scar from the process of insertion) is formed elsewhere in the genomic *** the analysis of the sequences of these targets,it can be concluded that a region characterized by both high GC content and a palindromic structure is the preferred insertion site.

A detailed theoretical analysis on the orbital lifetime and orbital inclination of a Low Moon-Orbiting satellite （LMOs） and the ‘stable areas＇ of long orbital lifetime are given. Numerical simulations under the real force model were carried out, which not only validate the theoretical analysis and also give some valuable results for the orbit design of the LMOs.

This study investigated the influence of red,green,blue,and white paper bags on the free volatile compound development of Kyoho grape berries from green to *** functional groups of volatiles were identified during the development of Kyoho grape berries including esters,aldehydes,alcohols,terpenes,ketones,acids,and *** and aldehydes were abundant in Kyoho grape berries,mainly represented by ethyl acetate,ethyl butyrate,and(E)-*** accumulated quickly after veraison and slightly decreased toward ***,green,blue,and white paper bags promoted the accumulation of esters and inhibited the accumulation of aldehydes,also inhibited the accumulation of alcohols,tepenes,ketones,and *** effect from strong to weak was green,blue,red,and white paper *** expression profiles of genes in the lipoxygenase-hydroperoxide lyase(LOX-HPL) pathway were also analyzed and the results indicated that the regulation of red,green,blue,and white paper bags on aldehydes,alcohols,and esters volatile aromas was at transcriptional *** results expanded our comprehension in grape aroma biosynthesis and berry bagging technique in table grape cultivation.

Eu-doped ZnO nanosheets were synthesized successfully by means of the hydrothermal method. The X-ray diffraction（XRD） pattern shows that the sample is a single phase with the ZnO-like wurtzite structure. And the X-ray photoelectron spectrum suggests that there are Eu3＋ ions in the matrix of the sample. Eu3＋-related red emissions resulted from energy transfer were observed for the nanosheets under UV laser excitation. The UV, green and yellow emissions were also seen in the photoluminescence spectra.

The automatic tungsten-inert gas welding（ATIGW） of AZ31 Mg alloys was performed using a six-axis robot. The evolution of the microstructure and texture of the AZ31 auto-welded joints was studied by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and electron backscatter diffraction. The ATIGW process resulted in coarse recrystallized grains in the heat affected zone（HAZ） and epitaxial growth of columnar grains in the fusion zone（FZ）. Substantial changes of texture between the base material（BM） and the FZ were detected. The {0002} basal plane in the BM was largely parallel to the sheet rolling plane, whereas the c-axis of the crystal lattice in the FZ inclined approximately 25° with respect to the welding direction. The maximum pole density increased from 9.45 in the BM to 12.9 in the FZ. The microhardness distribution, tensile properties, and fracture features of the AZ31 auto-welded joints were also investigated.

BACKGROUND:New-onset diabetes after transplantation(NODAT) has become one of the major factors that affect the overall survival and long-term life quality in liver transplantation(LT) recipients. Previous studies found that the serum adiponectin concentration of diabetic patients is significantly lower than that of healthy subjects. Adiponectin regulates the blood glucose level by increasing body sensitivity to insulin through various mechanisms. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of diabetes related gene polymorphisms on the development of NODAT in liver ***:A total of 256 LT patients in a single-center were selected retrospectively for the study. Genomic DNA was extracted from explanted liver tissues, and tested for twelve diabetes mellitus associated single nucleotide polymorphisms by Sequenom Mass ARRAY. Modified clinical models in predicting NODAT were established and ***:The GG genotype of ADIPOQ rs1501299 gene polymorphism was significantly more frequent in NODAT than non-NODAT LT patients(56% vs 39%, P=0.014). Dominant model(GG vs GT+TT, P=0.030) and recessive model(GT+GG vs TT, P=0.005) also confirmed the genotype distribution difference between NODAT and non-NODAT groups. Age(OR=1.048, P=0.004), BMI(OR=1.107, P=0.041), and blood tacrolimus level at 1-month LT(OR=1.170, P=0.003) were clinical independent risk factors of NODAT. Furthermore, rs1501299 could improve the ability of clinical model in predicting NODAT(AUROC=0.743, P<0.001).CONCLUSION:ADIPOQ rs1501299 gene polymorphism is associated with an increased risk of NODAT, which should be added to the clinical models in predicting the occurrence of NODAT in LT recipients.
