Bunch-length measurement at a bunch-by-bunch rate based on time–frequency-domain joint analysis techniques and its application

This paper presents a new technique for measuring the bunch length of a high-energy electron beam at a bunch-by-bunch rate in storage *** technique uses the time–frequency-domain joint analysis of the bunch signal to obtain bunch-by-bunch and turn-by-turn longitudinal parameters,such as bunch length and synchronous *** bunch signal is obtained using a button electrode with a bandwidth of several *** data acquisition device was a high-speed digital oscilloscope with a sampling rate of more than 10 GS/s,and the single-shot sampling data buffer covered thousands of *** bunch-length and synchronous phase information were extracted via offline calculations using Python *** calibration coefficient of the system was determined using a commercial streak ***,this technique was tested on two different storage rings and successfully captured various longitudinal transient processes during the harmonic cavity debugging process at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF),and longitudinal instabilities were observed during the single-bunch accumulation process at Hefei Light Source(HLS).For Gaussian-distribution bunches,the uncertainty of the bunch phase obtained using this technique was better than 0.2 ps,and the bunch-length uncertainty was better than 1 *** dynamic range exceeded 10 *** technology is a powerful and versatile beam diagnostic tool that can be conveniently deployed in high-energy electron storage rings.

BACKGROUND Periosteal chondroma is a very rare benign tumor that develops adjacent to the cortical surface of bone and beneath the periosteal *** chondroma of the rib is an extremely rare *** SUMMARY The patient was a 43-year-old man who had been incidentally found to have a mediastinal mass 1 mo *** computed tomography showed a lobulated soft tissue mass on the right side of the T4/5 vertebra that measured about 47 mm×28 mm in the transverse view and contained diffuse stippled *** mass caused cortical scalloping of the right fourth rib and marginal bone *** computed tomography showed mild enhancement of the *** resonance imaging showed a lobulated mass on the right side of the thoracic vertebra with long TI and T2 signals,mottling,and patchy long T1 and short T2 signals *** lesion had a hypointense *** magnetic resonance imaging showed enhancement predominantly at the periphery of the *** tumor was approached through a right posterolateral thoracotomy,and parts of the fourth and fifth ribs were excised with the *** pathological analysis revealed periosteal chondroma of the *** Periosteal chondroma of the rib has a low incidence and typical imaging *** its imaging features is helpful to ensure a correct preoperative diagnosis.

Background:There have been few reports of mutations in the beta-myosin heavy chain(MYH7)gene in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM),which is associated with sudden cardiac death caused by *** study aimed to screen the mutation sites in the sarcomeric gene MYH7 in Chinese patients with *** also planned to analyze the pathogenicity of the mutation site as well as its significance in clinical and forensic ***:From January 2006 to June 2017,autopsy cases were collected from the Department of Pathology,the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao *** experiment was to detect MYH gene status in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues from 18 independent autopsy cases who suffered HCM related sudden death(fatal HCM)and 20 cases without *** mutation exon fragments of MYH7 gene were amplified by polymerase chain *** end-of-deoxygenation method and gene cloning method were further performed to analyze the mutation *** comparison among mutant sites was conducted using BLAST online ***:The 1336th nucleotide of MYH7 gene at exon 14 was converted from T to G in one HCM case,resulting in the conversion of threonine(Thr)at position 446 to proline(Pro).In another case,the 1402th nucleotide at exon 14 was converted from T to C,resulting in the conversion of phenylalanine(Phe)at position 468 to leucine(Leu).Homologous comparison results showed that the two amino acid residues of Thr446 and Phe468 are highly conserved among different ***:Our results showed fatal HCM harbored mutations of Thr446Pro and Phe468Leu in the MYH7 *** is significant for clinical and forensic medicine to further explore the functions and detailed mechanisms of these mutations.

Effective improvement of beam lifetime based on radiofrequency phase modulation at the HLS-II storage ring

A radiofrequency(RF)phase modulation method is applied to the Hefei Light Source II storage ring to deeply investigate its longitudinal beam characteristics and improve the beam lifetime.A theoretical analytical model and corresponding experimental measurements of single bunch length and island phenomena are *** a series of online machine experiments,we demonstrate that the suitable phase modulation amplitude is 0.02 rad,corresponding to an optimum modulation frequency ranging from 19.6 to 20.7 kHz of the RF ***,the overall beam lifetime can be increased by a factor of 2.38 as a result of the beam dilution effect.

Development of a control system for the fourth-harmonic cavity of the HLS storage ring

Harmonic RF cavities are commonly used in storage rings to lengthen the bunches and thus suppress the beam's instabilities and increase its Touschek lifetime. The voltage and phase of the electromagnetic fields in the harmonic cavity are of great importance for stretching the bunch. In the Hefei Light Source storage ring, a passive fourth-harmonic cavity is installed, and the cavity is monitored and controlled by an analog control module provided by its manufacturer. To vary and maintain the voltage of the harmonic cavity in a more effective way, a digital proportional, integral, and derivative feedback system based on the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System is developed on top of the analog control module. This paper reports the details of the development of this voltage control system. Some test and operational results are also presented.

Novel design of a personnel safety system for Hefei Light Source-Ⅱ

The Hefei Light Source-Ⅱ(HLS-Ⅱ) is a vacuum ultraviolet synchrotron light source. The personnel safety system (PSS), which is a personnel access control system, is a crucial part of the HLS-Ⅱ, as it protects the staff and users at HLS-Ⅱfrom radiation damages. The prior version of HLS-Ⅱ PSS was based on an access control system called SiPass. This lacked the personnel management function. Meanwhile, as the prior PSS is a turn-key system, it was not effective for sharing information. To overcome these drawbacks, the novel design of PSS for HLS-Ⅱ is proposed based on the Siemens redundant programmable logic controller under the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System. The proposed PSS consists of a safety interlock system, access control system, and a radiation monitoring system. The safety interlock system is used to define the interlock logic. The access control system is designed to restrict the access of staff and users at HLS-Ⅱ, and to provide a personnel management function. The radiation monitoring system is used to monitor the radiation dose rate in both the light source and the surrounding areas. This paper details the architecture and the specific design of the novel PSS. The off-line test results demonstrate that the proposed system has achieved the design objectives.

Study on the α-cyclodextrin/poly(ethylene glycol) self-assembly supramolecular nanoparticles for drug delivery

This paper reports the synthesis and drug delivery properties of a novel supramolecular nanoparticle.α-Cyclodextrins(α-CD) were threaded on cinnamic acid modified poly(ethylene glycol) to form inclusion complex nanoparticles by supramolecular *** anti-tumor drug doxorubicin was loaded in the nanoparticles and released in vitro to study the drug release behavior and the anti-tumor *** structure and morphology of the nanoparticles were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance,X-ray diffraction,ultraviolet absorbance,dynamic laser scattering,scanning electronic microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and atom force *** distribution of the drug loaded nanoparticles in cells and the anti-tumor effects were studied by confocal laser *** results demonstrate that the supramolecular nanoparticle is biocompatible and it is a promising carrier for drug delivery systems.

Anisotropic magnetism and band evolution induced by ferromagnetic phase transition in titanium-based kagome ferromagnet SmTi_3Bi_4

Kagome magnets with diverse topological quantum responses are crucial for next-generation topological *** anisotropic magnetism and band evolution induced by ferromagnetic phase transition(FMPT)is reported in a newly discovered titanium-based kagome ferromagnet Sm Ti3Bi4,which features a distorted Ti kagome lattice and Sm atomic zig-zag ***-dependent resistivity,heat capacity,and magnetic susceptibility reveal a ferromagnetic ordering temperature Tc of23.2 K.A large magnetic anisotropy,observed by applying the magnetic field along three crystallographic axes,identifies the b axis as the easy ***-resolved photoemission spectroscopy with first-principles calculations unveils the characteristic kagome motif,including the Dirac point at the Fermi level and multiple van Hove ***,a band splitting and gap closing attributed to FMPT is observed,originating from the exchange coupling between Sm 4 f local moments and itinerant electrons of the kagome Ti atoms,as well as the time-reversal symmetry breaking induced by the long-range ferromagnetic *** the large in-plane magnetization and the evolution of electronic structure under the influence of ferromagnetic ordering,such materials promise to be a new platform for exploring the intricate electronic properties and magnetic phases based on the kagome lattice.
