Alpine plants possess unique traits to adapt alpine *** leaf trait relationships of alpine plants can be captured by the two trait dimensions of organ size and resource economics is *** hypothesized that,beyond the trait dimensions of leaf size and resource economics,nonstructured carbohydrates(NSC)would reflect a dimension of cold-tolerance in alpine *** test this hypothesis,we measured 12 leaf traits critical to leaf construction and growth in 143 species across 7 sites ranging from alpine steppes to alpine meadows along an environmental gradient on the Tibetan ***,a cold resistance experiment was conducted at one of these sites to estimate the lethal temperature causing 50%frost damage(LT_(50))of 11 alpine *** majority of variations in 12 leaf traits of alpine plants were captured by three trait axes,in which leaf carbon(LCC)and NSC(including leaf starch;LSC and leaf soluble sugars;LSS)were clustered in a new dimension(PC3)beyond leaf size and structure,and resource *** LCC,LSC and LSS all showed negative correlations with mean annual temperature,a significant negative correlation was only found between LSS and LT_(50).It indicated that PC3 was able to reflect the cold-tolerance of alpine plants to some extent,in which LSS was the most critical *** storage and transformation of NSC under stressful conditions could reflect a dimension of long-term metabolic adaptation and cold-tolerance,which is an extension of the resource-utilization strategy beyond construction cost and growth.

Nitrogen addition promotes soil carbon accumulation globally

Soil is the largest carbon(C)reservoir in terrestrial ecosystems and plays a crucial role in regulating the global C cycle and climate *** nitrogen(N)deposition has been widely considered as a critical factor affecting soil organic carbon(SOC)storage,but its effect on SOC components with different stability remains ***,we analyzed extensive empirical data from 304 sites worldwide to investigate how SOC and its components respond to N *** analysis showed that N addition led to a significant increase in bulk SOC(6.7%),with greater increases in croplands(10.6%)and forests(6.0%)compared to grasslands(2.1%).Regarding SOC components,N addition promoted the accumulation of plant-derived C(9.7%–28.5%)over microbial-derived C(0.2%),as well as labile(5.7%)over recalcitrant components(–1.2%),resulting in a shift towards increased accumulation of plant-derived labile ***,N addition led to a greater increase in particulate organic C(11.9%)than mineral-associated organic C(3.6%),suggesting that N addition promotes C accumulation across all pools,with more increase in unstable than stable *** responses of SOC and its components were best predicted by the N addition rate and net primary ***,our findings suggest that N enrichment could promote the accumulation of plant-derived and non-mineral associated C and a subsequent decrease in the overall stability of soil C pool,which underscores the importance of considering the effects of N enrichment on SOC components for a better understanding of C dynamics in soils.

Computed tomography enterography-based radiomics for assessing mucosal healing in patients with small bowel Crohn's disease

DNA walker induced “signal on” fluorescence aptasensor strategy for rapid and sensitive detection of extracellular vesicles in gastric cancer

The extracellular vesicles show great potential as a noninvasive biomarker for the early detection of cancer. Hence, there is an urgent requirement to create biosensors that are time-saving, simple, and easily scalable in order to accomplish rapid, sensitive, and quantitative detection of extracellular vesicles. In this study, we present a self-propelled DNA walker powered by endonuclease *** CI, which enables the development of a “signal on” sensing platform for the rapid and highly sensitive detection of extracellular vesicles. The DNA motor employed tracks made of streptavidin magnetic beads, which consisted of substrate strands labeled with fluorescein and motor strands locked by aptamers. The aptamer recognition of the target protein on extracellular vesicles unlocked the motor strand, initiating the DNA motor process. After replacing the optimal buffer solution containing the endonuclease *** I, the motor strands autonomously moved along the streptavidin magnetic beads track, continuously releasing fluorescent molecules and producing detectable fluorescence signals. Under optimal conditions, the detection range was from 2×10～4particles/mL to 2×10～9particles/mL, with a detection limit of 2.9×10～3particles/mL,demonstrating excellent selectivity. This method has demonstrated good selectivity in different tumorderived extracellular vesicles and performs well in complex biological samples. The ability to effectively analyze surface proteins of extracellular vesicles in a short period of time gives our DNA walker a tremendous potential for developing simple and cost-effective clinical diagnostic devices.

A morphological and anatomical study for tracking the growth and development of individual flowers and pods in soybean (Glycine max L.)

A morphology-based growth stage system should describe the growth and development of a crop and thereby help farmers and agronomists in formulating reasonable managementmeasures conducive to the development of marketable products. However, existing growth stage systems for soybean are either based on plant growth or covered particular phases of flower or pod development, making it difficult to use for tracking the entire growth period of individual flowers and pods. Therefore, the first flower and pod, located at the base of the primary raceme in the eighth trifoliate node of the main stem, were chosen to illustrate growth dynamics during the full reproductive period. The size and fresh weight of the primary raceme in the eighth trifoliate leaf axil, the first flower and pod, the pistils in the first flower, and seeds in the first pod were examined, and the growth of these organs was depicted. Integrating the morphological characteristics and growth features of flowers and pods, as well as existing growth stage systems, the growth and development were delineated in 13 stages. In detail, we classified the flower phase based on the relative positions of floral components, inspired by the ratio of bract to flower used for staging, refined the lag phase proposed previously, retained the use of pod length to define the early pod phase, and innovatively described the late pod phase by the seed appearance. The developmental events in each stage of flower and pod were distinctive and closely connected to the corresponding morphology. Taken together, a more detailed growth stage system for describing individual flowers and pods in soybean was established. This system will serve as a valuable research tool for describing the development, gene expression, and cellular metabolism associated with the formation of flowers, pods, and seeds. © 2025 Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Science, CAAS

三元共晶是在二元共晶的基础上发展的一种新型共晶设计策略,可以在不影响药物固有生物活性和相应药理活性的情况下改善药物的理化性质,因此三元共晶在药物研究和开发方面具有巨大的潜力。由于三元共晶会涉及三种不同分子的复杂组装,其复杂程度随着参与药物共晶的分子种类和数量的增加而增加,潜在的共晶氢键结合位点数量也随之增加,所以很难获得特定的三元共晶,关于特定三元共晶系统的微观分子结构方面的报道也很少。为了理解三元共晶结构的氢键形式,通过检测手段获取三元共晶体系中相关二元及三元共晶的分子结构信息对了解三元药物共晶的复杂形成过程尤为重要。采用机械研磨方法成功地合成了异烟酰胺-戊二酸、吡嗪酰胺-戊二酸二元共晶和异烟酰胺-戊二酸-吡嗪酰胺三元共晶,通过太赫兹时域光谱(THz-TDS)和密度泛函理论(DFT)计算对二元共晶和三元共晶结构进行研究。太赫兹光谱实验结果表明,二元和三元共晶都显示出各自独特的光谱特征。晶体结构分析表明异烟酰胺-戊二酸-吡嗪酰胺三元共晶结构中戊二酸一侧羧基中的羟基与异烟酰胺中的吡啶N形成羧基-吡啶N氢键异合成元,而异烟酰胺中的酰胺与吡嗪酰胺中的酰胺形成酰胺-酰胺氢键同合成元。最后,将DFT计算得到的理论太赫兹光谱与实验进行对比,发现异烟酰胺-戊二酸、吡嗪酰胺-戊二酸二元共晶氢键形式的叠加与异烟酰胺-戊二酸-吡嗪酰胺三元共晶的氢键形式并不是完全一致的,但是这两种二元共晶的氢键形式对预测三元共晶的氢键形式具有极为重要的参考价值。这些结果为新兴的药物共晶领域在分子水平上研究特定三元共晶的分子组装和分子间相互作用提供了丰富的信息和独特的方法。

[目的]评价直接前入路行髋关节置换治疗股骨颈骨折的临床结果。[方法]回顾性分析2018年10月—2020年6月采用全髋关节置换术治疗的65例股骨颈骨折患者的临床资料。其中,27例采用直接前入路(direct anterior approach, DAA),38例采用前外侧入路(anterolateral approach, ALA)。比较两组围手术期、随访以及临床影像评估结果。[结果]两组患者均顺利完成手术,术中未出现血管、神经损伤及假体周围骨折等并发症。两组的手术时间、术中出血量、术后引流量及住院天数差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),但DAA组手术切口长度显著小于ALA组(P0.05)。末次随访时,两组患者股骨前倾角、髋臼外展角及双侧股骨长度差值差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。[结论]与前外侧入路比较,直接前入路手术切口短,恢复完全负重活动早,早期髋关节功能恢复更好。
