Historical biogeography and evolutionary diversification of Lilium(Liliaceae): New insights from plastome phylogenomics

Here, we infer the historical biogeography and evolutionary diversification of the genus Lilium. For this purpose, we used the complete plastomes of 64 currently accepted species in the genus Lilium(14plastomes were newly sequenced) to recover the phylogenetic backbone of the genus and a timecalibrated phylogenetic framework to estimate biogeographical history scenarios and evolutionary diversification rates of Lilium. Our results suggest that ancient climatic changes and geological tectonic activities jointly shaped the distribution range and drove evolutionary radiation of Lilium, including the Middle Miocene Climate Optimum(MMCO), the late Miocene global cooling, as well as the successive uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP) and the strengthening of the monsoon climate in East Asia during the late Miocene and the Pliocene. This case study suggests that the unique geological and climatic events in the Neogene of East Asia, in particular the uplift of QTP and the enhancement of monsoonal climate, may have played an essential role in formation of uneven distribution of plant diversity in the Northern Hemisphere.

Selection and application of four QTLs for grain protein content in modern wheat cultivars

The grain protein content(GPC)is the key parameter for wheat grain nutritional *** study conducted a resampling GWAS analysis using 406 wheat accessions across eight environments,and identified four previously reported GPC *** analysis of 87 landraces and 259 modern cultivars revealed the loss of superior GPC haplotypes,especially in Chinese *** haplotypes were preferentially adopted in different agroecological zones and had broad effects on wheat yield and agronomic *** GPC QTLs did not significantly reduce yield,suggesting that high GPC can be achieved without a yield *** results of this study provide a reference for future GPC breeding in wheat using the four identified QTLs.

Measuring drug similarity using drug–drug interactions

Combination therapy is a promising approach to address the challenge of antimicrobial resistance,and computational models have been proposed for predicting drug–drug *** existing models rely on drug similarity measures based on characteristics such as chemical structure and the mechanism of *** this study,we focus on the network structure itself and propose a drug similarity measure based on drug–drug interaction *** explore the potential applications of this measure by combining it with unsupervised learning and semi-supervised learning *** unsupervised learning,drugs can be grouped based on their interactions,leading to almost monochromatic group–group *** addition,drugs within the same group tend to have similar mechanisms of action(MoA).In semi-supervised learning,the similarity measure can be utilized to construct affinity matrices,enabling the prediction of unknown drug–drug *** method exceeds existing approaches in terms of ***,our experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed similarity *** the one hand,when combined with clustering algorithms,it can be used for functional annotation of compounds with unknown *** the other hand,when combined with semi-supervised graph learning,it enables the prediction of unknown drug–drug interactions.

GmSTF accumulation mediated by DELLA protein GmRGAs contributes to coordinating light and gibberellin signaling to reduce plant height in soybean

Enzymatic C1 reduction using hydrogen in cofactor regeneration

Carbon dioxide fixation presents a potential solution for mitigating the greenhouse gas *** carbon dioxide fixation,C1 compound reduction requires a high energy *** calculations suggest that the energy source for cofactor regeneration plays a vital role in the effective enzymatic C1 *** utilizes renewable hydrogen to achieve the regeneration and supply cofactor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH),providing a driving force for the reduction reaction to reduce the thermodynamic barrier of the reaction cascade,and making the forward reduction pathway thermodynamically *** on the regeneration of cofactor NADH by hydrogenase,and coupled with formaldehyde dehydrogenase and formolase,a favorable thermodynamic mode of the C1 reduction pathway for reducing formate to dihydroxyacetone(DHA)was designed and *** resulted in accumulation of 373.19μmol·L^(-1) DHA after 2 h,and conversion reaching 7.47%.These results indicate that enzymatic utilization of hydrogen as the electron donor to regenerate NADH is of great significance to the sustainable and green development of bio-manufacturing because of its high economic efficiency,no by-products,and environment-friendly ***,formolase efficiently and selectively fixed the intermediate formaldehyde(FALD)to DHA,thermodynamically pulled formate to efficiently reduce to DHA,and finally stored the low-grade renewable energy into chemical energy with high energy density.

A hierarchical reduced graphene oxide-MnO_(2)@polypyrrole coaxial nanotube composite hydrogel was prepared via oxidative polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of MnO_(2)nanotubes,followed by the hydrothermal treatment of graphene oxide and MnO_(2)@polypyrrole coaxial *** stable composite hydrogel with a hierarchical network was composed of one-dimensional MnO_(2)@polypyrrole coaxial nanotube and two-dimensional graphene nanosheet and characterized by scanning electron microscope,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy *** composite hydrogel can be used as an efficient adsorbent for Cr(Ⅵ)removal due to the synergistic interaction between graphene and MnO_(2)@polypyrrole and the hierarchical structure of the ***,the composite hydrogel is easily separated because of its stable monolith,and it is reusable(76.8%of removal ability remaining after five adsorption-desorption cycles).The simple fabrication and cost-effective separation process together with the excellent absorption performance endow the composite hydrogel with great potential for practical wastewater treatment.

Fracture identification of carbonate reservoirs by deep forest model:An example from the D oilfield in Zagros Basin

Identifying fractures along a well trajectory is of immense significance in determining the subsurface fracture network ***,conventional logs exhibit responses in fracture zones,and almost all wells have such ***,detecting fractures through logging responses can be challenging since the log response intensity is weak and *** address this problem,we propose a deep learning model for fracture identification using deep forest,which is based on a cascade structure comprising multi-layer random *** forest can extract complex nonlinear features of fractures in conventional logs through ensemble learning and deep *** proposed approach is tested using a dataset from the Oligocene to Miocene tight carbonate reservoirs in D oilfield,Zagros Basin,Middle East,and eight logs are selected to construct the fracture identification model based on sensitivity analysis of logging curves against *** log package includes the gamma-ray,caliper,density,compensated neutron,acoustic transit time,and shallow,deep,and flushed zone resistivity *** have shown that the deep forest obtains high recall and accuracy(>92%).In a blind well test,results from the deep forest learning model have a good correlation with fracture observation from *** to the random forest method,a widely used ensemble learning method,the proposed deep forest model improves accuracy by approximately 4.6%.

Efficacy and safety of remimazolam in bronchoscopic sedation:A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Remimazolam is a new benzodiazepine used for procedural sedation and general *** studies have used remimazolam for bendable *** To assess the safety and efficacy of remimazolam for sedation in patients undergoing bendable bronchoscopy by performing a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials(RCTs).METHODS We searched the EMBASE,PubMed,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science databases for RCTs on bendable bronchoscopic procedural sedation with remimazolam vs conventional sedatives(CS).RESULTS Five studies with 1080 cases were *** had the same sedation success rate compared with CS[relative risk(RR):1.35,95%CI:0.60-3.05,P=0.474,I2=99.6%].However,remimazolam was associated with a lower incidence of hypotension(RR:0.61;95%CI:0.40-0.95,P=0.027;I2=65.1%)and a lower incidence of respiratory depression(RR:0.50,95%CI:0.33-0.77,P=0.002,I2=42.3%).A subgroup analysis showed a higher success rate of sedation with remimazolam than midazolam(RR:2.45,95%CI:1.76-3.42,P2-0.64,P2=0.0%),respiratory depression(RR:0.48,95%CI:0.30-0.76,P=0.002,I2=78.4%),hypoxemia(RR:0.36,95%CI:0.15-0.87,P=0.023),and injection pain(RR:0.04,95%CI:0.01-0.28,P=0.001)were *** Remimazolam is safe and effective during *** sedation success rate was similar to that in the CS ***,remimazolam has a higher safety profile,with fewer inhibitory effects on respiration and circulation.

Real-World Evidence of Multiple Air Pollutants and Mortality:A Prospective Cohort Study in an Oldest-Old Population

We aimed to report real-world longitudinal ambient air pollutants levels compared to WHO Air Quality Guidelines(AQG)and analyze multiple air pollutants’joint effect on longevity,and the modification and confounding from the climate and urbanization with a focus on the *** study included 13,207 old participants with 73.3%aged 80 and beyond,followed up from 2008 to 2018 in 23 Chinese *** used the Cox-proportional hazards model and quantile-based g-computation model to measure separate and joint effects of the multiple *** adjusted for climate and area economic factors based on a directed acyclic *** 2018,no participants met the WHO AQG for PM_(2.5) and O_(3),and about one-third met the AQG for NO_(2).The hazard ratio(HR)for mortality was 1.07(95%confidence interval-CI:1.05,1.09)per decile increase in all three pollutants,with PM_(2.5) being the dominant contributor according to the quantile-based g-computation *** the three-pollutant model,the HRs(95%CI)for PM_(2.5) and NO_(2) were 1.27(1.25,1.3)and 1.08(1.05,1.12)per 10μg/m3 increase,*** oldest-old experienced a much lower mortality risk from air pollution compared to the *** mortality risk of PM_(2.5) was higher in areas with higher annual average *** adjustment of road density considerably intensified the association between NO_(2) and *** ambient PM_(2.5) and O_(3) levels in China exceeded the WHO AQG target *** pollutants coexposure,confounding,and modification of the district economic and climate factors should not be ignored in the association between air pollution and mortality.
