The influence mechanism of environmental factors on DGT adsorbing sulfonamides and the migration between water and sediment

Obtaining the sulfonamides(SAs)concentrations in the water body and sediment bulk was a prerequisite to reveal their transport and partitioning behavior in sediment-water environments and accurately assess their ecological *** the present study,the influences of multifactor interactions on the performance of o-DGTs with XAD-18 binding gels were analyzed by central combination experiments and response surfaces analysis,in which the target compounds were 9 *** results indicated that dissolved organic matter(DOM),pH,and suspended particulate matter(SS)had significant effects on the o-DGT sampling,whereas this o-DGT was independent of the ionic strength(IS).Concentning the composite influence of the four factors,the interaction between DOM and SS posed the most significant effect on all 9 SAs ***,an o-DGT and DIFSmodel was applied to explore the SAs migration between the water-sediments *** difference between desorption rate(k_(b))and adsorption rates(k_(f))values suggested that the kinetics of SAs was dominated by ***,the short-term sediment-water partitioning of SAs was clarified on the basis of distribution coefficient(K_(dl))for the labile SAs,among which the sulfadiazine(SDZ)had the largest labile *** ability of sediments to release SAs to the liquid phase as a sink was determined by response time(T_(c)).Among the 9 SAs,the longterm release of soseulfamethoxypyridazine(SMP)from the solid phase of sediments would have a potential risk to the aquatic environment,to which more attention should be paid in the future.

Analyzing carbon emissions and influencing factors in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration counties

Majority of carbon emissions originate from fossil energy consumption,thus necessitating calculation and monitoring of carbon emissions from energy *** this study,we utilized energy consumption data from Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality for the years 2000 to 2019 to estimate their statistical carbon *** then employed nighttime light data to downscale and infer the spatial distribution of carbon emissions at the county level within the Chengdu-Chongqing urban ***,we analyzed the spatial pattern of carbon emissions at the county level using the coefficient of variation and spatial autocorrelation,and we used the Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression(GTWR)model to analyze the influencing factors of carbon emissions at this *** results of this study are as follows:(1)from 2000 to 2019,the overall carbon emissions in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration showed an increasing trend followed by a decrease,with an average annual growth rate of 4.24%.However,in recent years,it has stabilized,and 2012 was the peak year for carbon emissions in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration;(2)carbon emissions exhibited significant spatial clustering,with high-high clustering observed in the core urban areas of Chengdu and Chongqing and low-low clustering in the southern counties of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration;(3)factors such as GDP,population(Pop),urbanization rate(Ur),and industrialization structure(Ic)all showed a significant influence on carbon emissions;(4)the spatial heterogeneity of each influencing factor was evident.

Control of Corner Separation for a Linear Compressor Cascade via Bionic Slanting Riblets at the Endwall

A new passive control approach,utilizing bionic slanting riblets,is employed to mitigate the flow close to the blade endwall in a linear cascade,and its effectiveness and mechanism in controlling corner separation are investigated through numerical *** slanting riblets are positioned at the endwall upstream of the cascade channel,and the influence of riblet height,yaw angle and relative position on the control of corner separation is *** findings indicate that the application of slanting riblets can efficiently counteract corner separation across the stable operational ***,the introduction of riblets with a height of merely 0.1 times the boundary layer thickness results in a significant reduction in total pressure loss by up to 14.53%,while simultaneously enhancing the static pressure coefficient by 21.74%.Flow analysis reveals that minute vortices produced within the riblet channels tend to coalesce,forming a potent large-scale vortex near the boundary layer's base *** phenomenon results in reduced additional losses compared to conventional vortex ***,the induced vortex promotes enhanced mixing between the mainstream flow and boundary layer,inhibiting the lateral displacement of low-energy fluids within the endwall boundary ***,this delays the onset of separation vortex formation and eliminates vortex rings in the corner region,ultimately enhancing the aerodynamic efficiency of the cascade.

Thermodynamics calculation on the oxidation and sulfur removal abilities of slag in EAF dust pellet reduction process

The valuable metals in the dust can be recycled by mixing it with reducing agent carbon and lignosulfonate as the binder to make pellets, then returning the pellets to electric arc furnace (EAF) and adding ferro silicon. Part of valuable metals in the dust is reduced by carbon and part of them reduced by ferro silicon for the economical consideration. The reduced metals get into the steel in the stainless steel or special steel production. But the sulfur in the lignosulfonate may affect the quality of produced steel, which is dependent on the status of the smelting slag. The experiments were conducted in the way of changing the ratio of start iron, pellets, ferro silicon and lime. The content of the slag was checked by XRF for the calculation thermodynamics study. The active concentrations of materials in the slag, the slag abilities of oxidation and sulfur removal in EAF dust reduction process were determined by thermodynamics calculation study on CaO MgO FeO Fe 2O 3 SiO 2 S slag at 1 550 ℃. The oxidation ability of slag can be expressed as N (FetO)= N (FeO)+6 N (Fe 2O 3)+8 N (Fe 3O 4). The sulfur removal ability is dependent on the amount of added ferro silicon and the basicity of the slag. The calculation thermodynamics model was set up and it could be applied to the practical production.

How sediment dredging alters phosphorus dynamics in a lowland rural river?

China’s lowland rural rivers are facing severe eutrophication problems due to excessive phosphorus(P)from anthropogenic ***,quantifying P dynamics in a lowland rural river is challenging due to its complex interaction with surrounding areas.A P dynamic model(River-P)was specifically designed for lowland rural rivers to address this *** modelwas coupled with the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code(EFDC)and the Phosphorus Dynamic Model for lowland Polder systems(PDP)to characterize P dynamics under the impact of dredging in a lowland rural *** on a two-year(2020-2021)dataset from a representative lowland rural river in the Lake Taihu Basin,China,the coupled model was calibrated and achieved a model performance(R^(2)>0.59,RMSE<0.04 mg/L)for total P(TP)*** research in the study river revealed that(1)the time scale for the effectiveness of sediment dredging for P control was~300 days,with an increase in P retention capacity by 74.8 kg/year and a decrease in TP concentrations of 23%after dredging.(2)Dredging significantly reduced P release from sediment by 98%,while increased P resuspension and settling capacities by 16%and 46%,respectively.(3)The sediment-water interface(SWI)plays a critical role in P transfer within the river,as resuspension accounts for 16%of TP imports,and settling accounts for 47%of TP *** the large P retention capacity of lowland rural rivers,drainage ditches and ponds with macrophytes are promising approaches to enhance P retention *** study provides valuable insights for local environmental departments,allowing a comprehensive understanding of P dynamics in lowland rural *** enable the evaluation of the efficacy of sediment dredging in P control and the implementation of corresponding P control measures.

Occurrence of phthalate esters in the yellow and Yangtze rivers of china:Risk assessment and source apportionment

Phthalate esters(PAEs),recognized as endocrine disruptors,are released into the environment during usage,thereby exerting adverse ecological *** study investigates the occurrence,sources,and risk assessment of PAEs in surface water obtained from 36 sampling points within the Yellow River and Yangtze River *** total concentration of PAEs in the Yellow River spans from124.5 to 836.5 ng/L,with Dimethyl phthalate(DMP)(75.4±102.7 ng/L)and Diisobutyl phthalate(DiBP)(263.4±103.1 ng/L)emerging as the predominant *** exhibit a pattern of upstream(512.9±202.1 ng/L)>midstream(344.5±135.3 ng/L)>downstream(177.8±46.7 ng/L).In the Yangtze River,the total concentration ranges from 81.9 to 441.6 ng/L,with DMP(46.1±23.4 ng/L),Diethyl phthalate(DEP)(93.3±45.2 ng/L),and DiBP(174.2±67.6 ng/L)as the primary *** levels follow a midstream(324.8±107.3 ng/L)>upstream(200.8±51.8 ng/L)>downstream(165.8±71.6 ng/L)*** should be directed towards the moderate ecological risks of DiBP in the upstream of HH,and both the upstream and midstream of CJ need consideration for the moderate ecological risks associated with Di-n-octyl phthalate(DNOP).Conversely,in other regions,the associated risk with PAEs is either low or *** main source of PAEs in Yellow River is attributed to the release of construction land,while in the Yangtze River Basin,it stems from the accumulation of pollutants in lakes and forests discharged into the *** findings are instrumental for pinpointing sources of PAEs pollution and formulating control strategies in the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers,providing valuable insights for global PAEs research in other major rivers.

The crevice corrosion of the reinforcing steel in the carbonated simulated concrete pore solutions(SCPSs)containing 0.04 mol/L chloride was *** comparison,the steel without crevice covered on its surface was also *** showed that the crevice corrosion in the uncarbonated SCPS was not triggered and the steel remained passivity by suppressing the anodic dissolution in the crevice *** SCPS was carbonated to have pH values of 10.5 and 11.5,the crevice corrosion was easier to be activated than the widely reported pitting corrosion owing to the rapid oxygen depletion within the crevice,but the crevice corrosion damage might be alleviated to a certain extent due to the relative compact surface film formed inside the *** further carbonation led to the activation dissolution of both the crevice interior and exterior,causing the more serious corrosion *** process of the crevice corrosion was systematically analyzed by combining the electrochemical measurement results and Evens polarization diagram.

Integration of Melanin-Resveratrol Nanosystem for the Diagnostic-therapeutic of Renal Fibrosis

In this work,melanin nanoparticle-resveratrol(MNP-RES)nanosystem was excogitated and constructed for the treatment and imaging of folate-induced renal fibrosis(RF)mice model to fulfill the combination of diagnosis and *** characterization indicated that MNP-RES was a monodisperse spherical framework with a uniform diameter of(18.6±2.7)nm and the drug loading content of RES was 44.8%.The inhibition ratios of reactive oxygen species,such as·OH,·O_(2)−,ABTS’and DPPH were all greater than 80%.After systemic therapy with MNP-RES,the levels of serum creatinine(SCr)and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)were decreased,and the extent of renal fibrosis was considerably relieved,which was verified by H&E,Masson and terminal-deoxynucleoitidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling(TUNEL)*** MNP-RES nanosystem can diagnose and monitor the therapeutic efficacy of RF in real time and noninvasively via photoacoustic/magnetic resonance imaging(PA/MRI)dual-modality imaging,and the MNP-RES diagnostic-therapeutic nanosystem had satisfactory biocompatibility in vivo,which facilitated its future bio-transformation for RF treatment in clinical application.

Purpose The Compton camera,which visualizes the distribution of gamma-ray sources based on the kinematics of Compton scattering,has advantage of wide field of view,broad range of energy and compact *** In this study,we proposed a prototype of Compton camera,which included array silicon photomultiplier(SiPM)-based position-sensitive detectors,data acquisition(DAQ)system and image reconstruction *** detectors were composed of Ce-doped Gd_(3)Al_(2)Ga_(3)O_(12) scintillator arrays and pixel Si-PM *** DAQ system,symmetric charge division circuit,impedance bridge circuit and the delay coincidence algorithm were designed to record coincidence *** back-projection algorithm and list-mode maximum likelihood expectation maximization algorithm were adopted for image *** coordinate of longitude and latitude was used for image *** The performance of this Compton camera prototype system was *** results indicated that this system was able to locate a ^(137)Cs point source within 20 s with the corresponding radiation dose of~1.0μSv/*** angular resolution of point source was~7°(FWHM),and the total energy resolution of 662 keV was 7.2%.Furthermore,we succeeded in separating two point sources of different energy[^(22)Na(511 keV),^(137)Cs(662 keV)]in laboratory *** This prototype of scintillator Compton camera offers capabilities for applications like source term investigation and radioactive materials detection.
