The deployment of hydrogen as an energy carrier is found to be a vital alternative fuel for the future. It is expected that water electrolysis, powered by renewable energy sources, be able to scale-up hydrogen production. However, the reaction kinetic of oxygen evolution reaction(OER) is a sluggish process, which predominantly limits the efficiency of water electrolysis. This review recapitulates the recent progress and efforts made in the design and development of two selected earth-abundant bimetallic electrocatalysts(Ni Co and Co Fe) for alkaline OER. Each bimetal electrocatalyst is thoroughly outlined and discussed in five sub-sections, including bimetal(oxy) hydroxides, Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) structures,oxides, composites, alloy and nanostructured electrocatalysts, and assembled with ***, a brief introduction to an in situ/operando characterization techniques and advantages for monitoring the structure of the electrocatalysts is provided. Finally, a summary outlining the challenges and conceivable approaches to advance OER performance is highlighted and discussed.

Induction motors are the most widespread rotating electrical machines in *** maintenance of the motors is of crucial importance due to the fact that unexpected faults in those machines can lead to huge economic losses for the corresponding *** recent years,there is an increasing use of industrial induction motors operated by different types of drives,which have different *** them,the use of soft-starters has proliferated due to the inherent benefits provided by these drives:they damp the high starting currents,enabling the soft startup of the motors and avoiding undesirable commutation transients introduced by other starting *** spite of these advantages,they do not avoid the possible occurrence of rotor damages,one of the most common faults in this type of *** works have proposed predictive maintenance techniques that are aimed to diagnose the rotor condition in soft-started machines and even fewer have demonstrated the validity of their methods in real *** work presents,for the first time,the massive validation of a rotor fault diagnosis methodology in soft-started induction *** and laboratory and induction motors started under different types of soft-starters and with diverse rotor fault conditions are considered in the *** results prove the potential of the approach for the reliable assessment of the rotor condition in such machines.

An efficient fluorescence probe, 4-methyl-2,6-bis（（thiophen-2-ylmethylimino）methyl）phenol （DFPTMA） and its SCN adduct has been synthesized and characterized by different spectroscopic techniques like ^1H NMR,^13C NMR, QTOF-MS ES^＋, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray structure of DFPTMA is reported. In presence of SCN-, DFPTMA exhibits significant fluorescence enhancement （λEx, 455 nm, λEm, 504 nm） in aqueous methanol （water-methanol, 1 ： 4, V/V, 0.1 mol/L HEPES buffer, pH 7.4）. Common bio-relevant anions viz. CH3COO^-, NO2, NO7, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, SO4^2-, HSO4^-, N3^-, HAsO4^2-, Cr2O7^2-, H2PO4, ClO4^-, NCO^-, CN^-, CO3^2-, F^-, PO4^3-, S2-, HS- do not interfere in the recognition of SCN-. Lowest detection limit for SCN^- is 0.88 μmol/L with response time 〈5 min. The SCN assisted enhancement in emission intensity may be attributed to the formation of H-bond which enhances the rigidity of the molecular assembly.

The primary purpose of this work is to reproduce the scenario composed of a charge-dyon system utilizing position-dependent effective mass(PDM) background in the non-relativistic and in the relativistic regimes. In the nonrelativistic case we substitute the exact charge-dyon eigenfunction into PDM Schr?dinger equation, in the Zhu-Kroemer parametrization, and then solve it for the mass distribution considering M = M(r). Analogously, in the relativistic case we study the Klein-Gordon equation for a position-dependent mass, and in this case, we are able to analytically solve the equation for M = M(r, θ).

Germination of Sweet Sorghum Seeds in Different Water Potentials

The implantation of sweet sorghum has been shown as viable alternative in crop rotation in sugar cane plantation reform areas. The seed environment in the field is complex and several factors, such as different genotypes and osmotic stress, can negatively influence the seeds water uptake and, therefore, the sequence of germination events can be compromised. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate the different physiological responses of sweet sorghum seeds (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) belonging to the hybrids CV 007 and CV 147 and cultivar BRS 506 when submitted to substrates with different water potentials (-0.1, -0.2, -0.3, -0.4, and -0.5 MPa) using solutions of polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000). The seeds remained in Biochemical Oxygen Demand-type germination chambers, under constant white light and the temperature of 25°C for 14 h in the high temperature and 10 h in the low temperature. The moisture of the substrates was regularly monitored. The physiological potential of the genotypes was evaluated using the following characteristics: first count, germination, germination speed index (GSI), root length, and fresh and dry weights of seedlings. In general, germination and early growth of seedlings were negatively affected by the reduction of water potentials below -0.1 MPa, which was also damaging to the GSI of the seeds. Germination and growth of seedlings of the hybrids CV 007 and CV 147 and of the cultivar BRS 506 were affected by reduced water potentials starting at -0.1 MPa. The seeds of hybrid CV 147 were more tolerant to simulated water stress with PEG 6000 than those of hybrid CV 007 and cultivar BRS 506.

Processing of materials in the form of ceramics normally involves several steps including calcination at a relatively low temperature for synthesis of the end-product powder and sintering at a high temperature for *** work we have been developing introduces a novel approach enabling synthesis plus sintering of materials in a single running experiment by using electric fields,ending with dense ceramics that display grains noticeably finer than in conventional *** new paradigm is fully illustrated with experiments conducted on amorphous CaCu3Ti4O12 precursor powder,shown to experience,on heating,crystallization through intermediate phases,followed by chemical reaction leading to synthesis of the end-product powder,plus densification depending on field *** processing time and furnace temperature are considerably reduced,demonstrating that enhanced synthesis and sintering rates applied under field *** results found in Bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12are also *** different factors that may contribute to this unique scenario,including Joule heating,defect generation,and reduction of free energy for nuclei formation promoted by the applied field,are briefly ***,the findings we bring here are exclusive as they show an exploitable way that allows rapid processing of materials with good control over particle and grain coarsening.
