Induction motors are the most widespread rotating electrical machines in *** maintenance of the motors is of crucial importance due to the fact that unexpected faults in those machines can lead to huge economic losses for the corresponding *** recent years,there is an increasing use of industrial induction motors operated by different types of drives,which have different *** them,the use of soft-starters has proliferated due to the inherent benefits provided by these drives:they damp the high starting currents,enabling the soft startup of the motors and avoiding undesirable commutation transients introduced by other starting *** spite of these advantages,they do not avoid the possible occurrence of rotor damages,one of the most common faults in this type of *** works have proposed predictive maintenance techniques that are aimed to diagnose the rotor condition in soft-started machines and even fewer have demonstrated the validity of their methods in real *** work presents,for the first time,the massive validation of a rotor fault diagnosis methodology in soft-started induction *** and laboratory and induction motors started under different types of soft-starters and with diverse rotor fault conditions are considered in the *** results prove the potential of the approach for the reliable assessment of the rotor condition in such machines.

The primary purpose of this work is to reproduce the scenario composed of a charge-dyon system utilizing position-dependent effective mass(PDM) background in the non-relativistic and in the relativistic regimes. In the nonrelativistic case we substitute the exact charge-dyon eigenfunction into PDM Schr?dinger equation, in the Zhu-Kroemer parametrization, and then solve it for the mass distribution considering M = M(r). Analogously, in the relativistic case we study the Klein-Gordon equation for a position-dependent mass, and in this case, we are able to analytically solve the equation for M = M(r, θ).

Contrasted Impact of Land Abandonment on Soil Erosion in Mediterranean Agriculture Fields

Abandonment of agricultural land results in on- and off-site consequences for the ecosystem. In this study, 105 rainfall simulations were carried out in agriculture lands of the Mediterranean belt in Spain （vineyards in Malaga, almond orchards in Murcia, and orange and olive orchards in Valencia） and in paired abandoned lands to assess the impact of land abandonment on soil and water losses. After abandonment, soil detachment decreased drastically in the olive and orange orchards, while vineyards did not show any difference and almond orchards registered higher erosion rates after the abandonment. Terraced orchards of oranges and olives recovered a dense vegetation cover after the abandonment, while the sloping terrain of almond orchards and vineyards enhanced the development of crusts and rills and a negligible vegetation cover resulted in high erosion rates. The contrasted responses to land abandonment in Mediterranean agricultural lands suggest that land abandonment should be programmed and managed with soil erosion control strategies for some years to avoid land degradation.

Coronary angiography and eventual revascularization have become the most common approaches for patients with acute coronary *** detection in this scenario is usually regarded as unnecessary for most of the *** fact,current guidelines recommend complete revascularization for patients with multivessel disease in the context of ST-elevation myocardial infarction,although it is in contrast with previous ***,some recent data suggested that ischemia could have a role for the decision of revascularization in these *** CROSS-AMI study randomized patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary angioplasty and who also had multivessel disease to a complete anatomic revascularization of the non-infarct related artery lesions vs subsequent revascularization of the noninfarct related artery lesions only if ischemia was demonstrated by stress *** main findings were that only 30%of the patients in the ischemia arm needed a second revascularization and that the outcome was similar in both *** non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome,coronary angiography is in general warranted for most of the ***,recent long-term published studies on patients randomized to an invasive or less aggressive approach based on ischemia detection have found no differences in *** ultimate study in non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome comparing ischemia detection with an invasive approach is ***,ischemia detection might have a role for stratifying these *** is particularly true in the current era of imaging of high quality and sensitivity,last generation stents,radial access and modern antithrombotic therapy.

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a chronic disease that requires chronic treatment throughout the evolution of the disease,with a complex physiopathology that entails great challenges for the development of new and specific treatments for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's *** anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha therapy has impacted the clinical course of IBD in those patients who do not respond to conventional treatment,so there is a need to develop new therapies and markers of treatment *** pathways involved in the development of the disease are known and the new therapies have focused on blocking the inflammatory process at the gastrointestinal level by oral,intravenous,subcutaneous,and topical *** these new therapies can lead to more personalized treatments with higher success rates and fewer *** treatments have not only focused on clinical remission,but also on achieving macroscopic changes at the endoscopic level and microscopic changes by achieving mucosal *** treatments are mainly based on modifying signaling pathways,by blocking receptors or ligands,reducing cell migration and maintaining the integrity of the epithelial ***,this review presents the efficacy and safety of the new treatments that are currently under study and the advances that have been made in this area in recent years.

Processing of materials in the form of ceramics normally involves several steps including calcination at a relatively low temperature for synthesis of the end-product powder and sintering at a high temperature for *** work we have been developing introduces a novel approach enabling synthesis plus sintering of materials in a single running experiment by using electric fields,ending with dense ceramics that display grains noticeably finer than in conventional *** new paradigm is fully illustrated with experiments conducted on amorphous CaCu3Ti4O12 precursor powder,shown to experience,on heating,crystallization through intermediate phases,followed by chemical reaction leading to synthesis of the end-product powder,plus densification depending on field *** processing time and furnace temperature are considerably reduced,demonstrating that enhanced synthesis and sintering rates applied under field *** results found in Bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12are also *** different factors that may contribute to this unique scenario,including Joule heating,defect generation,and reduction of free energy for nuclei formation promoted by the applied field,are briefly ***,the findings we bring here are exclusive as they show an exploitable way that allows rapid processing of materials with good control over particle and grain coarsening.

Up to now, ecology has a strong influence on the development of technical and instrumental aspects of architecture, such as renewable and efficient of resources and energy, COz emissions, air quality, water reuse, some social and economical aspects. These concepts define the physical keys and codes of the current ＇sustainable＇ architecture, normally instrumental but rarely and insufficiently theorised. But is not there another way of bringing us to nature？ We need a theoretical referent. This is where we place the Van der Laan＇s thoughts： he considers that art completes nature and he builds his theoretical discourse on it, trying to better understand many aspects of architecture. From a conceptual point of view, we find in his works sense of timelessness, universality, special attention on the ＇locus＇ and a strict sense of proportions and use of materials according to nature. Could these concepts complement our current sustainable architecture？ How did Laan apply the current codes of ecology in his architecture？ His work may help us to get a theoretical interpretation of nature and not only physical. This paper develops this idea through the comparison of thoughts and works of Laan with the current technical approach to ＇sustainable＇ architecture.

High voltage,high energy density,nominal cycle life,and low cost are the most critical requirements of rechargeable batteries for their widespread energy storage applications in electric vehicles and renewable energy ***-MnO_(2) battery could be a low-cost contender,but it suffers extensively from its low cell voltage and poor *** this study,we modified the conventional cell structure of Na-MnO_(2) battery and established altered cell chemistry through a hybrid electrochemical process consisting of Na striping/plating at the anode and Zn^(2+) insertion/de-insertion along with MnO_(2) dissolution/deposition at the *** the modification,Na-MnO_(2) battery exhibits a discharge capacity of 267.10 mA h/g and a cell voltage of 3.30 V(***/Na^(+)),resulting in a high specific energy density of 881.43 Wh/*** 300 cycles,the battery retains 98% of its first-cycle discharge capacity with100% coulombic ***,Na metal-free battery assembled using sodium biphenyl as a safer anode also delivers an excellent energy density of 810.0 Wh/*** work could provide a feasible method to develop an advanced Na-MnO_(2) battery for real-time energy storage applications.
