Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(DInSAR),a satellite-based remote sensing technique,has application for monitoring subsidence with high resolution over short *** uses radar images to measure centimeter-level surface *** the images,ground resolution can be relatively high,with each data point(pixel)representing the average displacement over an area of several square *** image data are acquired regularly which allows subsidence to be monitored sequentially over short periods;imaging periods typically range from weeks to *** subsidence over short periods with high spatial resolution has potential to provide insight into the dynamics of subsidence and into relationships between mine advance and *** this study,for three longwall mines in the western United States,initial subsidence occurring at the start of longwall advance is quantified over short periods(12–72 days).C-band interferometric wide swath Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)images from the Sentinel satellites are used to quantify the ***,the data show initial development of subsidence,expansion of the subsidence trough,and the advance of subsidence in the direction of mining.

This review shows that relatively simple changes to diet and lifestyle can significantly,and rapidly,reduce the risks associated with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in terms of infection risk,severity of disease,and even disease-related mortality.A wide range of interventions including regular exercise,adequate sleep,plant-based diets,maintenance of healthy weight,dietary supplementation,and time in nature have each been shown to have beneficial effects for supporting more positive health outcomes with COVID-19,in addition to promoting better overall *** paper brings together literature from these areas and presents the argument that non-pharmaceutical approaches should not be overlooked in our response to *** is noted that,in several cases,interventions discussed result in risk reductions equivalent to,or even greater than,those associated with currently available *** the balance of evidence suggests benefits,and the risk is minimal to none,it is suggested that communicating the power of individual actions to the public becomes morally ***,many lives could be saved,and many harms from the vaccine mandates avoided,if we were willing to embrace this lifestyle-centred approach in our efforts to deal with COVID-19.

Overview of HIV drug resistance and its implications for China

Since the initiation of China＇s nationwide free antiretroviral therapy （ART） in 2002, the availability of highly active antiretroviral therapy （HAART） in China has increased dramatically. HAART has been proven to prolong survival and control HIV disease progression. At the same time, experience in developed countries indicates that the high mutation rate of the virus in the presence of HAART is associated with drug resistance and diminished efficacy. The increase in HAART availability and use in China therefore also comes with the potential for increased resistance. Transmission of drug-resistant strains to individuals who have never been exposed to ART is on the rise. Moreover, studies have shown that new infections by drug-resistant virus result in suboptimal response to ART. With the rapid scale up of ART in China in recent years, the prevalence of HIV drug resistance will likely increase, posing a major public health concern in China. This review article provides an overview of ART resistance, the current worldwide trends in HIV drug resistance, the effect of HIV drug resistance in clinical management, and the implications for China＇s HIV treatment and care.

Though a relatively young discipline, translational bioinformatics （TBI） has become a key component of biomedical research in the era of precision medicine. Development of high-throughput technologies and electronic health records has caused a paradigm shift in both healthcare and biomedical research. Novel tools and methods are required to convert increasingly voluminous datasets into information and actionable knowledge. This review provides a definition and contex- tualization of the term TBI, describes the discipline＇s brief history and past accomplishments, as well as current loci, and concludes with predictions of future directions in the field.

BCR/ABL is the causative agent of chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML).Through structure/function analysis,several protein motifs have been determined to be important for the development of ***177 of BCR is a Grb2 binding site required for BCR/ABL-induced CML in *** the current study,we use a mouse bone marrow transduction/transplantation system to demonstrate that addition of oncogenic NRAS(NRASG12D)to a vector containing a BCR/ABL^(Y177F)mutant“rescues”the CML phenotype rapidly and *** further narrow down the pathways downstream of RAS that are responsible for this rescue effect,we utilize well-characterized RAS effector loop mutants and determine that the RAL pathway is important for rapid induction of *** of this pathway by a dominant negative RAL is capable of delaying disease *** from the present study support the notion of RAL inhibition as a potential therapy for BCR/ABL-induced CML.

This research explored the basic issue of what preparedness means and entails to people in Fako Division,Cameroon—a place threated by many hazards and that has experienced many *** from the analysis of the 33 interviews conducted in this study indicate that preparedness is a dynamic state of readiness that is dependent on context,a social process,and a process of completing activities to save lives and minimize the effects of *** addition,the research determined that Cameroonians view a wholly prepared person as someone who would:(1)have knowledge about hazards and what to do about them;(2)engage others,including their families and neighbors,in discussions about activities related to hazards;and(3)participate in activities to minimize loss from hazards,sustain themselves in the face of hazards,and flee from *** findings from the interview data synchronize to a large extent with what is implied,but not clearly stated,in the existing research *** article addresses this synchrony,posits a definition of preparedness,and identifies the theoretical components of preparedness.
