Coverage and determinants of infant postnatal care in Nigeria:A population-based cross-sectional study

Importance:In 2019,Nigeria had the largest number of under-5 child deaths globally and many of these deaths occurred within the first week of *** World health Organization recommends infant postnatal care(PNC)attendance to support newborn survival;however,utilization of PNC is known to be low in many ***:This study examined coverage and individual-level determinants of infant PNC attendance in ***:Nigeria Demographic health Survey(NDhS)2018 data were used to evaluate infant PNC coverage and *** PNC was defined as receipt of care within 2 days of *** delivered up to 2 years before the 2018 NDhS were *** examined predictors of infant PNC with modified Poisson regression models to estimate relative risks(RRs).Results:The national coverage of infant PNC was 37.3%(95%confidence interval[CI]:35.8%–38.7%).Significant heterogeneity in PNC attendance existed at state and regional *** delivery was strongly associated with the uptake of PNC(RR:6.07;95%CI:5.60–6.58).Greater maternal education,maternal employment,urban residence,female head of household,and greater wealth were also associated with an increased likelihood of PNC ***:The uptake of infant PNC is low and interventions are urgently needed to promote equity in access and increase demand for PNC in Nigeria.

Cationic polymerizations of vinyl ethers have gained recent attention due to their ability to produce robust,biorenewable *** developments have been largely enabled by the advent of cationic reversible addition−fragmentation chain-transfer(RAFT)polymerization;however,the scalability and sustainability of this method are hindered by current chain-transfer agents(CTAs),which exist as viscous,colored oils requiring complex syntheses and solvent-intensive ***,we produce a solid,colorless CTA through a green synthetic route in 83%yield on a 50-gram *** investigate the utility of this CTA in chemical,electrochemical,photochemical,and acid-initiated methods,revealing that it achieves efficient polymerization with excellent control over molecular weight,low dispersity values,high chain end fidelity,and temporal control in cationic RAFT polymerizations.

Karst habitats are hotspots of diversity and endemism. Their naturally fragmented distributions across broad geographic landscapes have led to the complex array of smaller evolutionary ecosystems that present unique challenges from a conservation *** assessments of karst habitats have revealed that these ecosystems contain an almost unparalleled level of endemism, and many site-restricted species remain undescribed, thus posing considerable challenges for effective conservation *** rock-dwelling species, such as geckos, may be particularly prone to such isolation. In this paper, we discuss one such genus, i.e.,hemiphyllodactylus, and explore its diversity across karst landforms in Yunnan Province, southwestern China. Based on morphological and genetic data, we describe two new species of hemiphyllodactylus from karst habitats in Simao District and Yanshan County. A phylogenetic tree for hemiphyllodactylus was constructed using 1?039 base pairs(bp) of the mitochondrial NADh dehydrogenase subunit 2 gene(ND2). The Simao and Yanshan specimens can be distinguished from all other congeners within their respective subclades based on uncorrected genetic pairwise distances greater than 6.3% and 4.3%respectively, as well as significant morphological differences. The discovery and description of these two new species brings the total number of described hemiphyllodactylus species in China to 14and indicates many more undescribed species from unsurveyed karst regions await *** findings suggest that karst ecosystems in Yunnan support a higher diversity of hemiphyllodactylus than previously *** study also highlights the importance of karst ecosystems as refugia for sitespecific endemic species and the need for heightened conservation efforts.

采用传统固相法在1400℃在空气气氛中烧结2 h制备得到环境友好的(1-x)Ba(Zr_(1/3)Ti_(2/3))O_(3)-xBaMg_(0.1)Ta_(0.9))O_(3)(x=0,0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08)弛豫铁电陶瓷,借助SEM和XRD分别研究其表面形貌及晶体结构。同时研究BaMg_(0.1)Ta_(0.9))O_(3)对Ba(Zr_(1/3)Ti_(2/3))O_(3)陶瓷相变及介电、铁电性能的影响。结果表明:(1-x)Ba(Zr_(1/3)Ti_(2/3))O_(3)-xBa-Mg_(0.1)Ta_(0.9))O_(3)(BZT-BMT)钙钛矿单相陶瓷的平均粒径随BaMg_(0.1)Ta_(0.9))O_(3)(BMT)含量增大而减小。随着x增大,陶瓷体系出现伴有弥散相变和频率色散的弛豫铁电行为。0.98BZT-0.02BMT陶瓷具有良好的介电性能,在100 k hz下其室温相对介电常数及介电损耗分别为6034和0.01399。随着BMT含量的增大,体系剩余极化强度及矫顽场均减小,表明室温下体系铁电相态向顺电相态的转变。

BACKGROUND Splanchnic vein thrombosis(SVT)is a major complication of moderate and severe acute *** is no consensus on whether therapeutic anticoagulation should be started in patients with acute pancreatitis and *** To gain insight into current opinions and clinical decision making of pancreatologists regarding SVT in acute *** A total of 139 pancreatologists of the Dutch Pancreatitis Study Group and Dutch Pancreatic Cancer Group were approached to complete an online survey and case vignette *** threshold to assume group agreement was set at 75%.RESULTS The response rate was 67%(n=93).Seventy-one pancreatologists(77%)regularly prescribed therapeutic anticoagulation in case of SVT,and 12 pancreatologists(13%)for narrowing of splanchnic vein *** most common reason to treat SVT was to avoid complications(87%).Acute thrombosis was the most important factor to prescribe therapeutic anticoagulation(90%).Portal vein thrombosis was chosen as the most preferred location to initiate therapeutic anticoagulation(76%)and splenic vein thrombosis as the least preferred location(86%).The preferred initial agent was low molecular weight heparin(LMWh;87%).In the case vignettes,therapeutic anticoagulation was prescribed for acute portal vein thrombosis,with or without suspected infected necrosis(82%and 90%),and thrombus progression(88%).Agreement was lacking regarding the selection and duration of long-term anticoagulation,the indication for thrombophilia testing and upper endoscopy,and about whether risk of bleeding is a major barrier for therapeutic *** In this national survey,the pancreatologists seemed to agree on the use of therapeutic anticoagulation,using LMWh in the acute phase,for acute portal thrombosis and in the case of thrombus progression,irrespective of the presence of infected necrosis.

Background:The Bismuth-Corlette(BC)classification is used to categorize hilar cholangiocarcinoma by proximal extension along the biliary *** the right hepatic artery crosses just behind the left bile duct,we hypothesized that BCⅢb tumors would have a higher likelihood of local unresectability due to involvement of the contralateral ***:A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database identified patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma taken to the operating room for intended curative resection between April 2008 and September *** were assigned BC stages based on preoperative ***:Sixty-eight patients were included in the *** underwent staging laparoscopy after which 16 cases were aborted for metastatic *** the remaining 52 cases,14 cases were explored and aborted for locally advanced ***-eight underwent attempt at curative *** exclud-ing cases aborted for metastatic disease,the chance of proceeding with resection was 55.6%for BCⅢb staged lesions compared to 80.0%of BCⅢa lesions and to 82.4%for BCⅠ-Ⅲa staged lesions(Phen hilar cholangiocarcinoma is preoperatively staged as BCⅢb,surgeons should antici-pate higher rates of locally unresectable disease,likely involving the right hepatic artery.
